Always enjoyable 🤙🏻 Had no idea a quarter berth exists -yet there it is… What happened to the furler unit ? Enjoy year end and a launch into the year ahead ~
I forgot that it was Windhippie-monday. That is not often it happens. I wanted to know what about the almost burning down the boat... Merry Christmas to you.
Hey Holly I am watching your vidios now for quite a long time and totally love them! So authentic, joyfull, simple and honest! In the recent videos so nice to you and Dan enjoy the journey!!! Keep sailing,, keep sharing! Thank you so much!!!!!
I thought that wood ceiling looked familiar! (and I was just wondering where you were at this point in time/reality, and bingo! you told us!). Merry Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones, Hols! Thank you for all you share with us all year long. Love you! Sending many warm hugs from North Truro, Cape Cod XOXOXOXO
Ever since my boat went down from fire I suggest to everyone (who will listen) to work out a way to cut or unlash your dinghy from inside the v berth or don't put it over your only other exit hatch at all. After all most fires likely start in the galley or engine cavity, possibly leaving you forced to exit at the front of your boat. On a much lighter note, it's probably not possible but it would be cool if you could change the name to "wind hippies" now you guys are a couple. Or perhaps "wind professionals" now you are getting paid with patreons, sponsored dinghies and the like.
So cool to see the sugar wharf in Port Douglas again, but a little sad to see how crowded the river was. We were the only boat past the big bend 39 years ago, and we were there a long time. The only boats past the Marina were the prawn trawlers, where we would buy prawns on the cheap from the lads, unless they gave us ones which hadn't flash frozen right. I did a couple of trips with them, which was a pretty good adventure. Glad you got to see it though. It was pretty much my favorite part of Oz, other than the Bloomfield river just up the way a bit, which would have water probably too skinny for the Geck. We went thump on the bar (gently) drawing only 4 feet.
Nice little sail to port douglas. Have been on outerreef boats many times. Makes a difference with 2 on board. Crocodiles in that river. Found scat walking from YHA.
The oil pickup in your engine is probably off to 1 side. So heeling to 1 side has plenty of oil to the pickup, heeling to the other means you might be starving the engine for oil. Add another quart of oil to your engine. See if that helps. 1 extra quart will not harm the engine. You might want to look into a different oil pan. One with a center sump, or at least a deeper pan to hold extra capasity, and move that pickup to the center of the pan. All sounds hard, but is really quite simple. If adding that 1 extra quart helps, then definitely move your oil pickup to the center and lowest part of the pan as a minimum. 👍🏻 Oh, and Merry Christmas to you both.🎅
@mountainwest3444 one that uses a regular block and didn't get the proper oil pan swap when they swapped over the marine parts. Wouldn't be the first time.
You may be the most skilled saiolr on youtube. There are a lot of different categories but when it comes to saltwater in your veins you may be first due to being raised on a boat.and your experience.
I used to live in two towns close to where you have been cruising. I lived in Babinda south of Cairns and also Mossman just north of Port Douglas. I hope that you checked out the Mossman Gorge and also Low Isle. What time of year were you there? During the winter months June-August there are almost always SE winds. The Northerlies come with the summer and the box jelly fish. We had a mountain near Babinda called Mount Misery. We had a saying if you could see Mount Misery it was about to rain and if you couldn't it was already raining. Another saying was if the television programs were boring you could always watch the mold grow for entertainment. I now live in the USA and are looking to get on the water as soon as I have recovered from shoulder replacement surgey.
Like your channel is interesting, one thing I don't like you always get the camera too close to your face and you're like right on top of the camera. It's like suffocating for the viewers to an extent back off of the camera a little bit that would be my suggestion.
It’s not her fault. She’s doing a video selfie and probably has her arm stretched normally. Any further and it would look awkward. Try doing a video of yourself the way you want it to look and it will feel uncomfortable to you. Other than having someone else video her or use some other equipment like a tripod or selfie stick would just be too inconvenient or time consuming and miss many moments of what she wants to say. She’s doing fine. Imo, she’s one of the few very good vloggers.
When I hear your engine thumping away, I can’t help to think of the African Queen! Good vibes, indeed!
Christmas present from High-field... That is a mark of success... Seasons greetings regardless if you acknowledge a god or not... 😁
Thanks! Cool views !
Holly you look great you’re really blossoming! Keep it up Dan!

Merry Christmas Holly! Really hoping to get back in the BVI again but sadly not in the cards this year. Enjoy the holidays with your family!
It makes me so happy that you found a mate. To be honest, I'm afraid for you sailing the by yourself.
Have a Jolly “Holly” Christmas ❤
Oh!
Well played sir.😀
Great video, done in style!

I agree but what marine engine would have the oil pickup to one side? Hmmm

Hi to Dan!!
Happy holidays Holly!!
Merry Christmas
FIRE … what happened? 😮….did I miss it ??
Merry Christmas❤🎄
Have fun in Maine. I lived there for 14 years.
You’re fun. 🤩

Merry Christmas, fair winds and following sea 🏴☠️
Nice job
Captain Holly's depth sounder is a bit like Captain Jack Sparrow's compass?
🤔🫴 ⛵️
Every sailing boat should have a Dan.
gosh u look great
Great times ~ I was getting a bit nervous when you only had a foot or 2 of water below the keel!
All the best to you. 😊
hi Tish,
Hope to find it aground 😂😂😂😅. Love ❤️ it and think I may use it.
New video! Woot! I scavenge the way Dan does. I would have kept all that as well.
Woo hoooo!! Glad you’re safe!
Merry Christmas!
A true sailor so cool
Did you go to Whitsunday and Hamilton Island
I visited Cairns in 1971 it was then a small town known mainly I think for sugar and wine production. Not the tourist centre that it is now.
You gotta keep your bananas separate from all other fruits and vegetables. Banana makes it go off fast 👍
And Merry Christmas 🎄
Lovely
* to see you and Dan
What was that song mid way?
Also have faith in Jesus Christ of Nazareth! He thinks you shine!
Hi, Can you see the tides on Navionics?
Nice dinghy but looks heavy
What happened to your headsail furler? I seem to recall you only recently installed it but now I don't see it on Gecko.

I hope a diesel mechanic watching this can her get the engine working perfectly...
Keep your hands off your face while taping
