This super-chill platformer does a good job of evoking the summer feel, and I thought that sounded about perfect right now given how stir crazy people are getting :)
@@Dorian_Scott I don't know about the others, but your review of RKA2 sort of relates to my opinion on the game. It's personally my favorite in the series.
Who knew playing this back in the 90s as a kid that I will one day see it here in a stir crazed pandemic commenting on a Mobil device not yet created for several years!¡
As a child, I always thought that this guy was throwing sausages at his enemies. I was this many days old when I realized that he was actually throwing a frisbee.
I ran a Sega exhibit at a trade show with my friend when I was in grade 9. This game was the headliner at the show. Sega had big expectations for this game. The rest is history
One that has been played since the 90s and beaten etc and with a whole playable set up in the museum . Played periodically esp New Year’s Eve into New Years and at anniversary dates etc.
I remember this one because of the cool tracks and I thought that they would give us a sequal but it never happened it would be cool if we did get one on the new systems
My girlfriend had the game back in the day. I have some nostalgia for it. The gameplay isn’t great but there is something special about the game imo. I love the box art too.
Saw this on an episode of _Nickelodeon Arcade_ in reruns when I was younger...but the Video Challenge wasn't won. Also, one of my cousins rented this game in 1997, and my dad's younger brother, who used to have a Genesis, had a copy of this game.

But this one (referring to Greendog) was actually developed by Interactive Designs, which later became Sega Interactive Development Division, whose members Mark Nausha, Chris Warner and Mike Terlecki later founded Point of View, Inc.
Hey Alex, if it’s okay to ask, Why do you mostly play games on a higher difficulty? Did you play the games back then or is it mostly for the challenge?
It depends on the game really, but I try to play them on the highest level I can reasonably play at without dying nonstop. That's why sometimes I keep it on normal, and why sometimes I bump it way up. Some games require the higher level to get the real ending, too.
My first memory of this game was at some one-off video game store, where it would constantly play on demo for the entirety of the store's opening. I never got the name because i couldnt read cursive yet
Oh yeah that game the Game Sack guy always seem to think is the greatest thing since sliced bread. It apparently was a licensed game of sorts and was supposed to be part of a multi part release schedule but this is the only thing that ended up getting released. Cowabunga dudes and hang ten on that gnarly 🌊 and don't wipe out because that would be pretty Melvin. "Maybe if they do a add on for the Genesis Mini we can get this and other far more obscure and interesting titles like the Bubsy Games, the EA stuff that wasn't sports games, and maybe some Sega CD titles?" Also I don't know if anyone sees it but Greendog kinda looks like if Monkey D Luffy decided not be a pirate and instead decided to be a radical 90's 🏄 dude instead.
Hmmmmm.... Greendog is a Discs of Doom surfer dude that uses Fred Flintstone technology. I find myself intrigued by the concept that this was based off of a board game, I'll have to look at that article you linked when I have more time.
That weird music it makes in the beginning of the first level the entrance thing on the flight unicycle thing reminds me of in avengers in the New York invasion when hulk or banner shows up in the moped.
Even if far from the best platformer on the console, it's still a decent game (and I see I wasn't the only one to think he had a straw hat) That being said... why the heck do all the levels have the same soundtrack?

I have a boxed copy of this game, got it for free, still feel ripped off. This game is absolutely terrible on a console with far too much western developed drivel on it (there are exceptions to this, like X-Men 2, the Disney games from Virgin, and stuff like the EWJ games, and Pitfall The Mayan Adventure). Like Nintendo, Sega's best Genesis games are mostly it's Japanese produced library. But this game, ugh, no words, other than one, shit.
Also Vectorman, Dune, whatever the name of that D&D RPG was, Comix Zone, anything from Zyrinx, and Eternal Champions (yeah you hate it but most people don't), are all good western developed games.
@@camulodunon The Japanese library is still far better in terms of imagination and ideas, better sounding games, pretty much overall than a majority of the western developed tripe on the 16 bit Genesis console. Comix Zone bores the hell out of me (I have the cart, plus the game is on 2 Sega compilations I have already), EC you know I hate, give me Fatal Fury 2 and SF 2 Championship Edition any day over it. Can't stand Vectorman, especially with Contra HC and Gunstar Heroes on the same console (I have both of these, and both Vectorman games), not to mention Vectorman 1 and 2 are ugly as sin in terms of looks as well. Dune is real time strategy, I don't dabble in those, if I want strategy on the Genesis, Shining Force 1 and 2 fit the bill. For RPG's, I have the Phantasy Star games (1-4 on PS3 Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, and boxed copies of 2 and 3 for my Genesis), so no need for D&D Warriors of the Sun.

*_Greendog_* , winner of the weirdest name for a fictional protagonist. Normy is the better game.
@@Dorian_Scott Ah really? I liked this one so much better than Normy!
@@NintendoComplete 2:27 Doesn’t the music in the title theme of Greendog: The Beached Surfer Dude! remind you of “Tonight, Tonight” by Hot Chelle Ray?

@PXLTRON Yeah, I watch Game Sack too :).
This was a huge game of my childhood. I didn't complete it until a decade later though.

i thought his hair was a straw hat
R u kidding me!! One of my all time favorites growing up
Greendog: the more likely. Unlike Lester.
I've gotta say, at least they gave a nice explanation for why the random animals in levels attack you for no reason
It's possible the cursed pendant is causing this.....
-Awesome this Game.

Game Sack approves this. :)
We need this on the Switch Virtual Console. Someone needs to put a copy of this game in a museum.

Wow… this brings back memories.

The game music sounds like Disney little mermaid cartoon and game.
