Yup, Hair spray helps the clamping force on the couplers. Haven’t use that trick for a min. You can also build a boost leak tester and use soapy water to find any other boost leaks.

Hey Colt, a trick we use at work for boost leaks is wrap the joints in thin foil, the leak will blow a hole in it most of the time. Your truck is a ripper, can wait to get the info from you to help mine out. 🇺🇲

Just for future reference, a set of good 1/4" metric wobbly sockets (the kind where the socket is permanently fixed to the joint and by good I mean SnapOn or Matco), a set of 1/4" wobbly extensions in various lengths, a flex head 1/4" ratchet with a 4-6 inch long handle, and a Milwaukee electric ratchet all together make working on these engines a breeze. If you plan to keep your truck and continue to work on it then investing in those semi-specialty tools will make your life much more pleasant. With those tools and a little practice you can have the upper and lower intake plenums removed in 5-10 minutes. They're expensive but your knuckles will thank you.

Thank you! CCV reroute will stop that oil from being in the tube. Be ready cause the one hose (clips) coming from the CCV to the manifold is a bit of a pain to get out, at least it was for me.

I know it’s late , but when I was building my 7.3’s, any time I took the Air pipes off, I wipe the pipe and the couplers off with acetone on a microfiber rag to get rid of all the oil residues so the don’t slip off. It works for me

The boost leak is probably coming from the o ring inside the pipe that you had to use the factory boot on. You might need a new o ring. Mine did the same thing when I took that pipe off and it sounds like a balloon leaking like that

On my 2019 f250 6 months after my piping kit install i get a small belt chirp, i replaced the belt and idlers pulleys and it still does it but less now. So i did a bunch of research and read alot of forums and i guess its perfectly normal after a piping kit install, theres no lag on shut off now just and instant shut off cause a small "chirp"

I been looking at kits and I felt your pain on this job man. It’s just time consuming and a lot of small parts to work on in an awkward space. I put my cold side pipe on today and the cac sensor took me a minute but it’s a quarter turn with an o ring fit. Doesn’t matter now but one for the knowledge bank. 🤘🤘🤘👍

I hate scuffin my hands up workin on stuff and those mechanic gloves are too bulky to fit in most places that u need gloves! I got some I like to use that are thin enough to still feel with and provide a lil scuff protection. I'll try to get a pair to ya in a day or 2!

I have the Pusher intake. Expensive and as much of a pain in the ass to install as yours. Usually people brake the EGR port bolts. Best of luck brother.

Just a couple of suggestions. USE THE DAMN SILICONE SPRAY!!! The spray makes it so much easier to slide your connections together and when it dries, it seems to have a sealing effect and you won't have to use the damn hairspray. I'm confused why the manufacturer didn't just make the intake a single piece Y pipe instead of using a short pipe and coupler.
As we've discussed before, I did it all at once. I did the repipe, the EGR delete, the CCV delete, the coolant system reroute AND a fuel system disaster kit all at the same time. It was a two day job, but it was much more efficient. For instance, I only had to drain the coolant once and the disaster kit is a breeze to install without all that piping in the way.
I dont know what kind of tune you are using, but EZLYNK has a very fuel efficient tune for the SOTF tuner that's a lot less smokey and gives you just as much power.
Now if you really want to hear something cool, put a 10K trailer on there, turn on your automatic engine brake and set your cruise control to 60mph on a long 6% grade. You'll swear you've got a Jake brake in there when she kicks in. I do that fallin down Elk Mountain into Laramie all the time and I get either goofey looks or big grins from the guys in 18s.

Tom: what’s the tune from Ezlynk? I’ve set the Soft switch but I disconnected after a while cause I couldn’t get a worthy fuel efficient tune. Now I’m running a 0 hp and a transmission flash with a 3rd lock that seems to have a good balance between power and fast acceleration. I’d appreciate it if you can give me that info.
PD: I thought the same: do it all at once: the disaster prevention kit and the EGR cooler, I agree with you 100%.

Also: what brand of block off plate kit did you use,? I’ve seen one with tow big plates instead of one and I think it has more coolant flow due to much bigger holes in the bottom plate, am I right?

How is the air filter on this kit? Paper, cotton cleanable? Have you checked the intake tube to see if it’s really doing it’s job?
Did you have any issues with the hot side charge pipe? After installing my kit, the new pipe in the old coupling where it goes into the turbo is coming loose and isn’t blowing off but it wants to come out of the coupling.

Get the SPE Motorsportes kit. No cutting required and it works.
@@tprice3450 That kit sucks. Poor quality and no return filter. Also good luck getting it in any reasonable amount of time. No cutting with the S&S kit either.
@@JmF250 you can get the return filter as an option. I did. From what I'm reading ilabout the two systems, the S&S kit just upgraded to where the SPE kit started. The ship date on orders placed today is March 4th. We'll worth the wait and the additional $19.00 for sturdy aluminum parts.

checked out propower diesel but they only have piping kits for 17+. My son and I are shaving some weight off his 2012 6.7. Any thoughts on how close the 17+ kit is to the 2012 6.7?
Air filter tube off the turbo is your main issue. The battery is in a different spot and will not line up. Pretty sure CAC tube is also different diameter from 3" on 11-16 and 2.5 on 17+

Is it possible to have a 6.7 full delete with some type of tunes or what not for no black smoke? I understand some like it but I don’t care for it. Also have only had gassers before so…yeah idk to much. I like to get on the pedal a bit so wasn’t sure if it would just smoke all the time.
Most all the tunes are pretty clean joe a days. You will always have some. People that have a lot of smoke are prob running LBF files ( low boost fuel) and that’s causes a lot of smoke. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸

They never did. I said that in the video. I bought the block off plate way before the piping kit. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Just installed the same kit and love it. My only gripe is that there’s no place for the IAT sensor. I’m getting code P026A when I look at the codes on my EZLynk which relates to the IAT sensor. Anyone else having the same issue?
Mine has throw that code but I just tried a different tune and it went away. But I ran with it forever. You could ask your tuner to write you a custom tune addressing it. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Thanks for the quick reply! Just looked at my tunes. Apparently it’s called a CAC sensor and I have a tune for removing it. Go figure. 🍻

Kit is fantastic! Don’t have any issues at all. I only had that one boost leak after the install, but that’s common. Usually gonna have one and just adjust the boot! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Hey man you ever have any issues with your piping kit? CCV reroute? I use these trucks for my business and Im wondering how reliable it is.. stock ive never had any issues with 3 6.7’s all over 250k miles one I just sold at 308k lol
