Fuck yeah appreciate the code
Anytime brother! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
@@COLTSWAY hey brother this other mechanic cut that apart it’s not a filter anymore 2017 and up they fixed the problem
Only the ones you can take apart had that problem not the newer ones gases come out the top the oil drips back into your motor
But then, again, if you don’t change your oil on a regular basis, yes, it could clock that up to
Man I just discovered this channel looking for a Diy project. This is gold. Believe it or not you helped me a lot and save me some bad words!! Thanks for making my day!!!
My man! Hope to see you in the comments again brother! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Honest to God love how real your videos are, reminds me of what goes through my head when I’m working on my vehicles.
Man I appreciate that bro! Just one of the boys! We all built the same! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Hey Colt, we all know you wanted to get things done quick and all but hey! Take it easy bro, don’t hurt yourself, at the end of the day we all enjoy your videos and me personally I learn a lot from them and I like the how practical you are, to me, it’s the way to go for us non diesel mechanic guys like me. I’ve done a lot of the stuff you post on your videos to my truck and I appreciate it and encourage you to continue in your efforts to do it. Thx C
Thanks Juan! Guess I need to slow my ass down! Thanks for watching brother! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
@@COLTSWAY I’m always waiting for your next video, keep it up !!
Thank you! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Not to mention laying on the gravel
Really appreciate the videos. I have never worked on cars until I bought my 2019 F-250 6.7 five years ago. I’ve done all my work on my own of course with the help of your videos. Keep posting them because they help me out with every project for the truck. Really appreciate it man. Thank you!
Hell yea! Love to hear it! Thanks for watching brother. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
"Why they gotta make it so hard to break the law?!!" Bro, watching your videos are awesome. I watch your videos before I watch any other video on anything F-250 related. I think the same way you do! Keep up the awesome work Brother!!
My man!!! I approve the that brother! Glad there is like minded people out there! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
I’ve been watching for a while now because you are one of the realist people on UA-cam!
I think many of ur subscribers think the same.
Thanks for all the good information and laughs along the way!
Keep it up!
Thank you! I appreciate that and also appreciate you watching! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Just came across your channel, not gonna lie I laughed at the frustration and injuries cause I’ve gotten the same injuries and stress when working on my 6.7
Keep making raw content. You earned a sub
My man, I appreciate that brother! Hope to be seeing you in the comments! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
This is one of the few channels I automatically give a thumbs up to new videos when they come out because I know they’re gonna be great! My wife is always asking what I’m laughing at. Informative and most of all funny!
Thanks Jay! I appreciate that! Just doing me and being real with everyone! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Thanks for the vid! Just ordered my DPF delete, EGR delete, Pusher intake manifold w/o EGR crap, hot and cold pipes, and CCV delete. Going to do it all in one swoop, to help feed the plants!!!
Nice! Let me know how it goes!! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Colt, just wanna help out with some information. For you and everyone.
The purpose of a Closed Crankcase Ventilation is to relieve pressure in the bottom end of a motor, the crankcase, while reducing emissions. This pressure comes from blow by, which is combustion gases that make it by the piston rings. This also mixes with oil vapor/mist(created by moving parts) and water vapor that is also a byproduct of combustion. If you were to block of a CCV system this would create positive pressure in the crankcase. This will shorten the life of seals and gaskets inevitably causing an oil leak as you mentioned. So we can agree crankcase ventilation is a good thing.
Many years ago these systems were open and vented to the atmosphere through a little filter on the valve cover more often than not. Emission standards came about and now we have closed crankcase ventilation. These systems more or less "recirculate" your crank case pressure by introducing these gases/vapor into your intake/turbo and back into the combustion chamber to be burned. What this does if effectively evacuate the crank case of pressure because the intake pulls a slight vacuum on the crankcase. This keeps your seals lasting longer and emissions lower.
Now as you mentioned these ccv filters can get clogged and wreak havoc. I want to clarify that you removing the oil cap with the truck running is not an indication of the ccv filters level of blockage, but rather an indication of blow by. Every truck will have some blow by so dont worry. And old trick is to place the oil cap upside down on the oil fill and see if the blow by/crankcase pressure is enough to blow the cap off. This would indicate potentially larger issues. I could see your oil cap test work in theory however if you went to take the cap off while running and there was a big initial puff that proceeded to level out. That specifically could indicate a blockage with the ccv filter.
But back to CCV. Instead of deleting the system, making people upset and given diesel owners a bad name, i suggest getting a ccv baffled filter. This filter will seperate the liquids from the gases, keeping the sludge out of your intake/turbo/top end etc. And allowing you to maintenance your baffled filter by draining it at regular intervals. This is really a win for everyone.
I understand these systems can be expensive but they are worth it compared to deletes and reroutes into the exhaust. Deletes will give you an oil smell that is unpleasant and leave drips on the ground. This open hose also allows moisture potentially into your crankcase. Another think to look out for would be potential clogging with snow, ice or dirt. Blockages could result in increased crankcase pressure. An improper reroute into your exhaust could also result in a crankcase pressure increase, which would negate the purpose of crankcase ventilation all together.
I know not everyone is a diesel mechanic, but please research as much as possible before guiding the masses. It appears your channel has the potential to do just that. I appreciate your content and willingness to help others.
Hope this helps someone.
Thanks for the feedback brother. I do understand what you are saying. And the smell is pretty bad sometimes. I think I will go with a SPE CCV. ITS GOT A internal catch can to keep the oil from dripping out. I haven’t had any oil drips or anything but some people do. It also is supposed to help the smell. I prob won’t be putting on a baffled one though. But would be something I would consider for next time or on a different truck. Thank you for watching, I appreciate it. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Could route it to the exhaust and not worry about it
Your content is golden. You’re like the dad I never had. We will try to hold the flashlight better if you continue to put out these videos.
Just hold the light and shut up. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
😂😂😂😂
😂
Literally just did this and had a whole list of new curse words. This video is awesome and pure gold, good job brother 👍🏽
Man, I just appreciate you watching brother! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Thanks man good job. P.S. make sure the CVV is not restricted you do not want the CCV pressure to build up or you will be blowing seals and gaskits
That's the CCV is not restricted
Finally. A real life instructional video where knuckles and fingers are busted
At least you show how installs really go on at home…this is 100% accurate
Just completed the ccv delete... I can't believe the little amount you bled compared to the 4 major leakers I got putting this in . Thank you colt ! Tripple l's
Glad you got it taken care of brother!! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
I love how he continually loses his shit. Thanks a ton for sharing Colt!
Always my man! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Wish I had this video when I did my CCV delete. Took me 2 hours to figure it all out. And yes you'll want to run the exhaust further down the truck. Thanks for the forscan help as I finally got the 60 gal fuel tank installed. You da man!! God bless!!
Yea I’m deff gonna have to run it farther back. It stinks for sure! Thanks for watching the channel brother. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Oh man Colt, I so understand you, I swear I am the same way when I work on my truck. My knuckles etc all tore up I frickin love it, I’m not the only one who talks like that when I’m working on my ford…. You are gonna tear up all your insulated screwdrivers using those to work with but You do You!
I do appreciate you fighting thru it. Thanks Brother…
We the same my man!! Thanks for watching the channel my man! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Blood/sweat/anger and these are the most real world videos I’ve ever seen! These videos are gonna help me do all the exact mods here really soon so I thank you for showing evvverything!
My man! I appreciate you watching the channel brother! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Good job bro. Especially when you plug the closer hole before the back to not drop a bolt or something in that hole. You never know what can happen.
My man! Appreciate it brother. You right, you never know. Thanks for watching. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Sorry for your pain brother, but you had me rollin!
Hell looking back I have myself rolling as well! 😂. Thanks for watching brother! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸

Imma redo my whole 17 ccsb it’s just rolled 100k warranty is up thanks
For your videos bro cheers
My man! Shoot me a email. Coltshinton@gmail.com thanks for watching brother. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Colt, i have the same setup, SPE has the CCV reroute kit with a built in baffle to keep the oil from coming out, also no limit fabrication has the venturi that allows you to run your down hose to the exhaust so you dont have visible vapor coming out from underneath your truck.
Yea I might go that route one day! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
lol. all that frustrated commentary was the best part of the video. we've all been there.
It’s like a reward for the viewers! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Used your video for my 15. Man was that a pain in the a$$. Thanks for the video man. Took me around 2 hours
Just did mine tonight... got it done in about 35min with your video.. GREAT VIDEOS!
Thanks brother! Glad it helped you my man! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
I know I seen it in one of your videos but... what is it that I need to add to the main screen to monitor the entire temp?
EGT SENSOR 11. But you have to take it off the deff and put it where the one under the hood is. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Colts's Way is the Only Way, keep up the good work brother!!!
Appreciate it bro! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
I don't know anything about diesels nor have one but you crack me up. Thanks!
I don’t know anything either! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Love the fact that you keep these videos down to earth and not scripted etc but um, seems like it’s just easier to replace that filter every 75,000 miles lol. To each their own I suppose.
Yea it deff is lol. I had to do it though, I was putting a piping kit on and with the kit it has to be gone. I made a video about it right after this one. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Every time I watch his videos I get thirsty my friend
Keep it real brother
My man! Crack one for me! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Nice video Colt. I still love the electrician tools. Fellow electrician here.
Hell yea brother! Thanks for watching. I do like work but I been known to wire some shit up at some houses…😂🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Good chit Colt45, got my kit last week so this upload is just in time. Figured that hose was going to be a problem child. Busccccchhhhh!
My man! It wasn’t to bad! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Use a pick to raise each clip, then use a toothpick to keep each clip up. Hose comes right off. But the video is hilarious, cause I've been there!
Been watching for years, still rollin! I've done damn most all of the upgrades you did to you ford i believe its a 17 before your newer one.
Not going to lie, Colt... You are hilarious when you get pissed. I think that's why I prefer your videos
My man! I always look back and laugh at my ass too! Thanks for watching brother. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Kicken back with a cold latte now. You taught me well thank you Colt. My plastic box was over full with oil 28k on truck.
Hell yea! Can’t go wrong with a cold latte!! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Hey buddy, watching all your videos and I just want to say… the universal-socket-joint-doodad thing is called a swivel haha, 2 videos I couldn’t help talking to my screen lol. Appreciate all your thorough work, keep it up man!
Got a MPD kit in garage goes on this week, just weight lossed last week, watch your videos just before doing it, thanks! Cheers!
Anytime, thanks for watching Kevin! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
@@COLTSWAY took less than hour to remove and get running, thanks. But damn it got a fuel line leak from pushing the lines out of way to get to the one side bolt...
for any one watching this a year later for the CV hose use a 90 degree pick and hook the 3 tabs one by one and bend them up and out of the way.
Well at least now I know!! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Dude I love this guy. Did everything on my 19 6.7 based off his videos and laughed along the way. Until I was doing what he did and busted my finger too🤣
I was laughing so hard seeing you get more and more frustrated. My brother with a ‘17 f250 6.7 recommended your channel because I’m looking at buying a ‘17 f350 6.7 this next weekend.
Colt, great video minus the knuckle busting. I had to extend my CCV reroute another 5', depending on the wind direction picking up my coffee - would pass fumes into the establishment. I also use the SPC CC. Looking forward to when you are going to pull the trigger on installing that piping. Stay safe.
Got it installed the other day. Will drop vid soon! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Hey Colt,
Thanks for the video man. I appreciate you showing the pain in the ass parts we all encounter. Always one damn clip that takes 10min!
Anytime bro! Thanks for watching, I appreciate it! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Some times there is know short cut you just have take that pipe off. I like to get every thing out of the way. I have an 08 F350 6.4. I jacked up the cab to get the passenger side valve cover off to change the sensor under it learned a lot now when I dont want to do it I'll do it saves scraped nuckles or worse other parts are not as easly damaged. I think if i have to remove the cab it will only cost me two extra hr for that part of the re and re. P.S. dont use an air hamer to get the cab bolts off you will jus strip the part that hold the body or cage nut in place then you will need a partner half to remove carpet and the back seat etc...
I'm curious about doing this, just a thought, couldn't someone just remove the hose from the CCV box, replace with a properly fitted hose, run that hose to the back of the truck, find a properly fitting cap for the intake side and be done. This way you have a catch can(CCV BOX) and venting to the atmosphere instead of the engine. Seems like it would work and save money.
You crack me up Colt! Nice job. I’m in Chicago land struggling with 17 degrees. while you wear a t shirt.
Damn, you can keep that cold! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
"if your tying to save shit to put on later his aint the channel for that" I about fell out my chair.. 🤣🤣
Yea we a little to rough of shit! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Sheesh son that mullet gang gon crazy, yee yee!!
Hell yea it is!! YEE YEE! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
This dude is funny . Entertaining while learning =good
My man! Appreciate it brother. Thanks for watching the channel. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
On a 2016 on the CCV where is the sensor ? and there is no wires
Did you need a tuner for the delete/ re route of ccv. Wonder if it will put check engine light on. Thanks
Just tipped over 36k on my 19 power stroke. I guess it’s time to do this work along with beginning to save for the weight loss since time is ticking on the NOx sensor 😂
Be good brother, I appreciate the realness of your videos. Working on these trucks ain’t no velvet and roses and shit
Shit son, it’s been time to get rid of that commie junk! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Colts way is the best way. Buschhhhhhhhh
Appreciate it my man! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸

Thank you Colt for the wonderful informative videos. Owning my first diesel is a little intimidating but your videos have helped me out a TON. Just bought ya a 10 pack, thanks again!
My man! Appreciate that brother! Thanks for watching. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Lol dude it is so easy to lose your shit when working on these trucks, but its always worth it when it's done. Another solid video man.
You right about that, always worth it! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
I watch this video all the time brother. Lol great stuff !
My man! Yea this job made me HOT! Gotta laugh at it now though! Thanks for watching brother. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Hahahah oh man, that was so good. Took me back to your old videos...HELLO! That was solid. We all know we are exactly the same when we work on shit. The end result is always worth the struggle!
Man I was getting hot! But you are right. It’s worth it! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Another super video I can't help to laugh every time you get mad. your content on the videos is 100% and your honest that poor finger was bleeding all over the diesel and when you said the diesel fuel was burning your hand I lost it good video my friend I know you get aggravated but your videos are top notch to me. I love watching them I wish you lived closer I'd stop by and shake your hand God bless and take care sir
That happens all the time! God bless you and your family as well my man! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
On newer 2019's we dont have that filter, just a box, thank god!
Yea the non serviceable one is a lot better for sure. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Video just in time! Just ordered mine but unfortunately my gasket gave out and have a little blow by smoke…
All the more reason to get it done bro! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
2 minutes and 51 seconds I have been jacking with this shit.... exactly how my jobs go on the ridiculous things they do to these vehicles lol. Some times I have to go back and find the wrench that flew away like a bird.
My man! It’s crazy! Thanks for watching, I appreciate it. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Another great video, we appreciate you showing us Colt’s way. The mullet and pit vipers are fire, I’m talking red ass fire!
Thanks brother! The mullet deff getting stronger! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Thank you for showing the before and after removing the oil filler cap.
I watch a lot of UA-cam but i find my self laughing so hard at yours love it keep them coming
I always laugh after the fact! 😂
🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
You shouldn't do this job or keep pedaling these kinds of repairs. The Powerstroke was designed to operate in a stock configuration. You are not relieving any crank case pressure- it needs the vacuum. Without the little bit of vacuum created, it's puts stress on the turbo seals and causes them to leak. It's designed to have oil going into the intercooler. It will burn the oil as designed. Its a high compression engine. It just seems like a very costly venture to damage other components to solve a problem that doesn't exist. I say all this with respect. How do I know, well experience. I like your channel. Your hilarious.
I don't know where you're getting this info from. But it's wrong on all counts sir. I know, because I work on these near daily. Stress on turbo seals? Oil in the EGR, burning it, and etc???
What kit did u buy?
Kit came with my piping kit. Shoot me a email. It’s in video description. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
😂😂😂😂I love it!!!!!! Sounds just like me when Im working. If you aint cussing you aint working. I “F-ing Love It”
My man! Thanks for watching, hit that sub button if you haven’t! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
You need another truck camping trip soon..
Yes I do brother! I looking forward to it! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Just posted one the other day! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Colt, your videos are awesome. I’ve used them for a lot of the basic stuff and it’s saved me a bunch of money. I’m thinking of doing this to my truck, did it end up smelling bad? My old lady wouldn’t tolerate that with the kids in the truck. Did you end up running a hose all the way to the back of the truck and did it help?
So glad to see someone else with 0 patience! That would be your front cab mount underneath! 😂
When doing this mod, if you put a slight fall to the hose, whatever oil residue that collects will drain out. I had this mod on my 2000 7.3
Yea I’ve got a little fall on her! Good to know about the cab mount! 😂
I dig all your videos Colt. Keep up the good work & don’t change your style. God bless.
Appreciate it big dog! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Can you do this if the truck is still factory
Yes you can do the reroute. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
@@COLTSWAY thank you and love your videos
Thanks bro! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
I tell you what I'd rather watch your videos at any other videos on here about doing stuff to 6.7's because there's a lot of other guys on this UA-cam stuff doing videos of installing stuff and what they do is they show the parts on the ground the new parts then they show where the stuff's going to go and then they have like a 10 minute video of them just talking crap and and you know looking at things and then all of a sudden it cuts to well now it's on and there's no process I could name at least five channels that do that so I come back to you every single time because you show the process you show what happens you show exactly what everybody's going to go through rather than cutting and editing out the stuff that you're doing right now and then going straight to well then boom it's on and that's not reality so keep doing what you're doing buddy and keep doing videos like you're doing because I will literally watch your videos for hours because it's funny because you get frustrated you get aggravated and in the end you end up doing it anyway and that's exactly what every person does and people laugh at it because it's exactly what happens and that's what we want we want to see the going down the roller coaster and then you go up the roller coaster and then you get to the top and everything's done and fixed and you're like yeah I'm the best it's great stuff man
This is exactly how i expect this job to go for me
i def dont have the patience you do though
Hey colt had a question what an update on the truck I have a 2018 and am wanting to do all the same engine upgrades and deletes however wondering about what you’ve seen in your mileage category
Well if I would keep my foot out of it I’d get alot better. I only average 14 but I’m on 37x13.50x20 and don’t really do any highway driving. I have just a short commute to work. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
You da man big Colt!!!
I been wanting to do this to my 14 for a while!!!
Get it done son!!! Thanks for watching brother! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
I love this because this is exactly how I work on shit! Great video Colt!

I laugh the whole time watching these videos. The real deal right here. Now I know what the flys on the wall see when I'm working on shit 😂
Ain’t that the truth! I have zero patience! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸

Do you have to be deleted to delete the ccv or can I be stock and delete the ccv?
Does this cause oil drips in the driveway?
I like your style, that’s how I wrench! You sound just like me!!
Hey dude. Tks for the real life videos. Awesome. My kind of videos and language. Lol

Hey colt can I do that before an EGR delete?
Yes you can. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
@@COLTSWAY Thanks brother!
I’ve had my ccv done for almost 2 years and still no smoke unless it’s really cold out and still no smell. I zip-tied mine up to the right of the shock on the metal part. If I had more hose like yours I would've ran mine farther back just in case.
Mine isn’t smoking as of yet. Hope it stays like this! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
I was watching videos last night on this then ordered my kit, I was like man colt needs to make a video of this and then I look tonight and here it is! Great video man keep it up brotha!!
