    Wife wants a jeep wrangler, I was psyched when she told me she likes the Rubicon best...when I asked her why, her response was, "cuz it has big tires". Ok, no problem...we can get you a Rubicon babe.

    I've driven Sports (X), Saharas and Rubicons over the years and IMO this is probably one of the best summaries of the Wrangler line up. Agree on all points. The Sahara is my favorite because it's trail-capable with all the creature comforts I need. Rubicons are loaded with a bunch of over-priced MOPAR gear that isn't the best quality. I love Wranglers because they are so customizable. But I've got my eye on the Bronco. Ford's EcoBoost engines are incredible.

    I own a 2012 JK Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon that was a factory order by me. Took delivery of it on 17 April 2012. I drove Land-Rovers approximately 30 years starting back in 1964. Had both 88" and 109" Land-Rover's. Also had a grey market 1982 four-door Range Rover. My nine year old Jeep has been far more reliable than any Land Rover product I ever owned. Although I'm now seventy-three, the Rubicon goes everywhere I have the guts to take it. I suspect my Rubicon could do more off-road than any Land Rover I'd ever owned or driven in years past. The limiting factor now, however, is my age and knowledge that when things break, they can be expensive to repair. No part (save for the mid-level navigation system) of my Rubicon has ever failed. There has never been an oil leak underneath my Jeep. You did a great video on the Wrangler! Thanks for your presentation and advice. Andy McKane, Maunaloa, Molokai, Hawaii.

    Nice comparison video. I kind of like a bit of "vulnerability" in this type of vehicle. I've had 2 jeeps and they're both 2 door. The new one is a rubicon and is quite a bit less "vulnerable" then my first jeep. But having almost no storage pushes me to figure ways to pack it full for camping and so on. The fact that it's a bit noisy gives me a bit of that feeling. The first was a ragtop and I loved it but I'm quite a bit older now and I can't deal with a beat up ragtop that's as easy to get into or break into as that one was especially being my main vehicle. It's still a blast and much more capable then my last one. As far as the feeling of "vulnerability" try going through a hail storm in a fiberglass top. To me it's just an exciting vehicle with exciting capabilities but at my age a bit more comfort is a welcome addition. This one even has AC and in Arizona that's a giant plus. The old one went hundreds of miles through the desert and being a main vehicle even more miles on the road. I'm very sure the new one will be even better at both jobs. Safe wheelin!

I’m glad I didn’t get an eTorque or any other engine configuration since it really doesn’t get you any more benefits for the cost. The only thing that is irritating is the stop-start feature. Disagree with your engine comments. Just bought 2, 4xe hybrids which allow you to use you Jeep as an inexpensive daily driver or a fun ride. Your cost fears forget to include the $7,500 tax credit which is huge. If you actually price out the Sahara wrangler with the 4xe Sahara the 4xe is significantly less with the tax credit.

      @@vpsingh8583 You know people like to say that a lot, but if you price out used hybrid models against the standard model they are always more expensive. That said, I have to disagree with you. I think the resale value of the 4xe will be on par with all other wranglers.

    I got the Jeep Gladiator (Rubicon) JT as I needed more towing-capacity (over the Wrangler's). My Gladiator is VERY smooth-riding on the hwy, which may be in part because it has a longer wheel-base than a Wrangler has.

    Great comment about the wrangler trade offs, ie…don’t expect it to be in direct comparison to a crossover or daily driver. The wrangler is so cool, so much fun, but it’s probably one of the worst road trip vehicles I’ve driven. It’s not very comfortable over long periods of time, especially the back seats, it’s loud, and the on road handling really suffers at high speeds. That center dead zone(1 inch either side of center) on the steering wheel really needs to be addressed. I’ve heard of the death wobble, but I’ve never experienced it. I also think it’s a heck of a lot of money for not many features if you’re not planning on taking it serious off roading, which most of its buyers are not. Most are buying it for the rugged looks. Nothing else like it though. It’s a unique driving experience and just plain fun!

    I want to ask. I have a 2019 Jeep sport unlimited 2.0L turbo. It was only sold for one year. Our dealer called us to ask us if we wanted to “upgrade” our Jeep to a 2022 Jeep Sahara 3.6L. My question is this. Is my Jeep a collectible because it is a one year off with a 2 liter engine or is the 2022 a better deal for us?

    What models have Locking Axles besides the Rubicon? I don't want one where the differential allow one tire to spin in the mud while the tire on the other side doesn't turn and push /pull the jeep out of the mud. And the other axle is doing the same thing, one tire spinning and the other tire just sits there.

      The only fancy extras my JL rubicon has is the upgraded radio and power windows and locks. I bought off the lot. If I had ordered it I would have went with the base radio. Don’t have a choice on the power windows and locks. And I’m ok with that. I guess lol. Around my area most dealers won’t order a base or near base rubicon. Hell it’s hard to find one without a hard top. The loaded and mostly loaded rubicon’s sell well around here. I had to drive 3 hours for mine or order one and they aren’t taking orders right now.

    This guy clearly does not own or drive one, dude simply did his research from sales brochures and online forums.
    Only reason to buy the V6 is if u must have a manual transmission because all the other optional engines perform so much better than the base engine in all real world situations.
    Unlike this guy, I own one since 2018 and tested all the different engines, the V6 is the weakest and dullest in comparison.

    • @MalachiBurke
      @MalachiBurke 3 роки тому +3

      Maybe, but his comments on the V6 reliability are well founded. They just made their millionth Pentastar and remember everyone loves the old 4.0 i6 due to its reliability, not its wow factor. However, the ecodiesel while fancier IS a diesel, so he should have acknowledged that one's inherent longevity advantage
