In 2008 purchased a new 2 door Jeep Wrangler Sahara. Purchased with the idea of small town runs in northern, MI, something for fun. In 2018 we decided to load it up, take a trip throughout the West, making our way to Seattle, WA for a flight to Alaska. In total on this trip we hit 14 Nat'l Parks, traveled from Montana to Arizona, totaled 11,000 miles in the lower 48 with gas mileage at 20.3. Not a single issue. We left with no idea when we would return. We added additional cushions to our seats for comfort and shelves with rear seat removed for 2 tier packing as we needed summer clothes for southern states, cold winter gear for Alaska. Fast forward to 2021, Jeep has 52, 000 miles, we are 76 and 80. For us, a trip of a lifetime!
I'm buying my first Jeep on Friday. I'm 57 years old and have never owned one. I decided on the 2 door because it's something I've always wanted. I wanted the "iconic" Jeep look. Thanks for the video.
After owning a 2door wrangler since 1988, I can say that space is an issue you "learn to overcome".. Getting rid of the rear seats actually buys you tons of room
@@damnjustassignmeone 😆. My wife now shares my passion for vehicles... I got a Gladiator Rubicon and she immediately asked for a Gladiator... I got her one the next day. She picked a practical model. A 2021 Gladiator willys edition. She noted that it was a good canvas to modify and still had good offroad features to start with as she adds what she wants 😉... 🥲 I was so proud 👏 . And sad as I now have to mod 2 jeeps instead of one 😆 🤣 😂.
I bought a new 2 door wrangler recently. Compact size, simple u-turns, easy navigation through tight traffic, couldn't be happier. I can't go back to suv's or cars any more.
For 20 years, I drove a rusty 1994 wrangler…not so comfortable, but really practical. I went so many places and never worried about getting there. I’ve since upgraded to a 2021 Toyota Tundra and I love it! Super comfortable, but not super practical when I think of the places I went in that old rusty Jeep! Seriously, it would be nice to own 5-6 vehicles for different tasks. I’d still buy a 2 door Jeep to get into the back-back country if I had the means. Great video as always and I have enjoyed seeing the 2 of you in these videos. Cheers.
Agree, I've had 3 YJs... and now a 17jku. I loved my YJs, but a 4 door is way better for a functional vehicle. If you just want a trail rig or extra toy, 2dr yj is awesome
This is lost on most today. From '41 - '06, we Jeepers have had amazing adventures in our 2 doors. I'm a minimalist and most men are or at least were during my upbringing. Nowadays everyone needs every creature comfort of home while camping, fishing and overlanding. If you have that mindset, just go on vacation in a luxury suv and stay in a 4 star hotel.
Regina reminds me of my daughter. Despite your best attempt to make the 4-door the winner, she was right there at every turn to make sure you and everyone knew that her nameless 2-door Jeep was perfect FOR HER. That’s why we love her. Another great video Brad and Regina 👏🏼
Brad, you will never win an argument with Regina. Whatever "good" points you bring up she has a counterpoint or her opinion which is always 🤔 a winner. You guys are an awesome couple and that alone make your videos so enjoyable.
Considered a 4dr but bought a 2dr. My thought was that owning a 4 door wrangler is like owning a 55 liter backpack. The extra space entices you to carry a lot of excess gear.
It's not for doing what I do on the rocks. That would seriously stop me as the departure angle would suck. It's great for towing. That's why you get racks. But offroading, the hitch becomes less usable unless a city dweller is just going to the local park.
2 door is the best!! I fed my daughter through the window into her car seat in the back of my 2 door for the first 3 years of her life until she was big enough that I could put her in the passenger seat and let her climb into the back between the front seats. With the top down, it was easy, but when the top was on, it was such a situation lol. I'd have to unzip and unvelcro the side window, toss it on the ground, then put her feet first through the soft top bows and roll bar and everything into her car seat. Then I would climb into the trunk area to do all the buckling, still worth it! =D I've never had any trouble finding upgrades for my 2 door, you can ask my wife, she will agree haha
I traded my beloved 2 door for a 4 door when I learned we were having another baby. Think I'll stick with my 4 door. The utility of it can not be overstated. Guess I'm a soccer Dad now. May as well name it "Minivan"...
It is sooooo awesome having a wife that loves driving a Jeep and has an interest in the Jeep. When I talk to my wife about my Jeep she yawns right away.😂
My wife couldn’t tell a Wrangler from a Rav4 if I paid her. The only good thing is that she always lets me drive. She just sees it as work. She’d rather be driven.
And I respect Brad's wife and son for their 2 door Jeeps. I see far more women driving 4 door limos now. How any man can look at these goofy, fugly, feminine 4 dr limos and drive that thing off the lot says a lot. I'm a minimalist and most men are or at least were during my upbringing. Today, we're a rare breed. Ladies and "certain men" need a lot of room for shopping bags and a lot of other unnecessary 💩.
I have owned 6 Wranglers in my lifetime. All two door models dating back to 1974. (I’ve even had two of them stolen.)I snowplowed with two of them. ALL of them, but one, were V-8 models, and manual transmission. Maybe because I’m older, 70, I just purchased my first 4- door, not V-8, automatic, model wrangler. I absolutely love it! I tow it with a Motorhome. Perfect. Thanks for sharing both of your thoughts. BOTH of you are correct in your assessment of the differences.
One thing you didn’t mention is how easy it is to remove the back seat when packing for a trip and then reinstall it after. It takes less than 5 minutes to get it in or out after you do it once or twice and get the hang of how to maneuver it.
We bought our 2 door and removed the back seat the day we got at home. It has never been back installed. Our last one we did the same thing and even when we Traded it in, the dealer never asked for the seat. Both have literally never had the back seat installed... But then my wife will never let me get rid of the seat.
@@SoloHiker1 I take it out for weekend off-road trips and put it back in otherwise. I like having it in for daily duties so the dogs have a place to sit and the occasional 3rd person.
The 2 door JL rear seat looks remarkable similar to the rear seat in my tj down to the way it removes. May need to install the straps on the seat in my TJ so it does flop around when I take off from a stop light
I have owned 7 new jeeps. Wranglers in all configurations. Even owned a grand Cherokee. The grand was beautiful to drive, but if I bought another jeep today, it would be 100% a 2 door Wrangler. Most fun to drive! Turning circle is hands down a big reason. Thanks for your video. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
Wheeling a 2 door is more fun on most trails. I had a JLUR for a while but it didn’t feel right. I sold it and bought an 06 LJ with a 6 speed. I’m loving it!

First time I recall seeing your lovely wife in front of the camera for so long. She is absolutely delightful and seems so comfortable. Hope to see more of her in the future.
I just took delivery of a 2021 2Door Willys. Took a rock to the windshield on my second outing and the Gorilla glass stood the test. No rock chips or cracks, well worth the extra bucks. Great review, thanks for posting.
With Regina's involvement in the videos, I've converted my wife into a TrailRecon watcher! She's not going to drive herself on the trails with her stock '06 TJ but she likes to hear a woman's point of view on trail rides and overlanding. Thanks for another great video!
I’m with Regina- 2 door all the way. Love the fun factor. 4 doors just too stodgy. And I solved the purse issue with a between the seats handbag holder.
Your wife is terrific! You should step aside as the TrailRecon presenter and let your better spoken, more talented half take over the speaking duties. Go Regena! Love your channel.
Thank you! I'm happy to lend a voice but Brad IS TrailRecon and the true talent. Trust me, you would NOT want to hear me talking about lift kits or engine doodads!!! 😂
When I was in the Navy, home-ported at Alameda NAS, I bought a '58 Willys M38 from a fellow sailor. I loved how maneuverable it was off road and on. If I was buying today, I'd get the 2 door Wrangler. Same with the Bronco.
I test drove both the 2 door and 4 door options a several winters ago. It was a great day to test drive both the Jeeps. I was snowing all day and there was about 6-8 inches of snow on the local roads and some of the intersections had a lot of ice and very slick icy spots. The first Jeep I drove was the two door option. Do to the snow and the major road in front of the dealershiup, US-395, being heavy with traffic, I had made a right turn out of the dealership on the frontage road (heading north) and was going to make another 3 right turns so as to go around the large block the dealership was located on in order to get to a traffic light so I could make a left turn onto US-395 heading south. Dealership located at the south end of Carson City, NV. Then we drove half way up the Spooner Grade towards Lake Tahoe. At the first intersection after pulling out of the dealership, the slick ice spun the 2-Door Wrangler sideways. Throughout the whole test drive, this Wrangler felt squirrely. I just didn't quite fell at ease driving it. When I drove the 4-Dr Wrangler in contrast felt much more secure and solid on the icy roads. I was much more comfortable in and felt much more confident on the icy roads in the 4-Door verson. Since my daily commute was going to have me driving over 40 miles 1-way from home to work - Dayton, NV to Reno, NV - I was going to get the 4-Door Wrangler.
This video helped me a lot when deciding between the 2 and 4 door! I ended up with the 2 door and I couldn’t be happier!! Thanks for the great content 😁
I would like to have a 4 door for the extra storage and being able to sleep in the Jeep better. The big downfall of a 4 door for me would be the turning radius. My 2007 JK allows me to turn around on tight mountain roads when the path ahead is no longer drivable. I would hate to have a 4 door and have to back all the way back down. I’ve made a platform in my Jeep so sleeping in the JK is doable even though it’s not luxury. This was a great video!
Hopefully Jeep will incorporate the technique that the Bronco utilizes (Trail Turn Assist) for tightening the turning radius! Would that enhance the 4 door’s appeal for you?
If you have a JL and a Tazer you can enable 4 wheel steering. It's amazing. The Tazer assists by braking the inside wheel. A Gladiator can turn the same radius as a 2 door JL using it.
Myself I don't go to the wilderness to sleep in a camper or truck. 07 2-door JK can hold everything we need. Hammock and a tarp for shelter sleep comfortable and dry. I cook with a cast iron pitchfork. No need to try and bring a full makeshift kitchen. A pitchfork is an amazing cooking utensil. There's something special about roughing it. Only bring what you need not what you want. Everyone remember to tread lightly. The more junk you bring to the trail the more you must take out. Keep it simple keep it clean respect Mother Nature.✌❤😃
You might not believe it, but my 1999 Jeep wrangler 2 door, automatic sport 4.0 is been pulling a 23 foot boat with cuddy cabin on an aluminum trailer with double axles for 10 years. That is about 4000 lbs. I love my Jeep is a beast.
The two main deciding factors for me when deciding on a 2 or 4 door model were storage. I couldn't carry gear and my dog in a two door. Should have seen the look on the salesman when i pulled out a 7'6" fishing rod to see if it would fit. I bought a 4 door.
I just realized that I hadn't seen a TrailRecon video in a while - turns out that UA-cam had unsubscribed me for some reason. Glad to be back, and thanks for the video!
This reminded me of when a Mac user in the early 2000's would try to prove why it's better than a PC and the PC user just laughs and goes back to playing games. Yes, the two door is the real jeep. haha Love the channel!
My previous jeep was a 4dr. My current one is a 2dr...Definitely love the feel of the 2dr more. But I have noticed it's more slippery in snow...that 4dr definitely does better in snow in my opinion. Love them both tho!
I’m with her… 🤣 To each their own, but I’m partial to 2 door, manual, soft top. I have almost 25 years of driving them, 94 YJ, 02 tj, and currently a 08 jk. Take out the back seat and there’s plenty of room for two people and all the camping gear needed. My favorite so far has been hanging in hammocks under tarps that are pitched from my roll bar to a tree. In early 2020 I picked up a great condition, 1967 M416 trailer to camp out of and eventually mod to fit the needs of my wife and I to be comfortable traveling wherever we choose.
I had a 2 dr '08 jk with that pos 3.8 mini van engine. Never did that ever feel like a true Jeep because honestly, it wasn't. Too wide, plastic bumpers, plastic grill, just garbage. Came to my senses, got rid of it and got a real Jeep. An '05 TJ Rocky Mtn with the bulletproof 4.0 I6 with 3.73's lsd and a Dana 44. By far the best vehicle I've had.
I had a two door sport and a four door rubicon. My preference was the four door. It was a smoother ride in the corners and had a lot more cargo room. When you hit a bump on the back end with the two door, the back end goes flying. I got used to it but my passengers didn't like it. If you are going to go off roading with the four door, you need 37s compared to the two door only needing 35s. I initially had the stock 33s on the Rubicon and kept getting high centered.
I love my 2 door and honestly I've had a lot of fun that I didn't think I'd be able to have. And while my Jeep is a constant project of making it how I want it to be, I really just love it. And so honestly I'd recommend it to anyone that can forgo the negatives.
Same here with my '05 TJ Rocky Mtn. I see far more women driving 4 door limos now. How any man can look at these goofy, fugly, feminine 4 dr limos and drive that thing off the lot says a lot. Bought my wife a used 2007 JKU Rubicon back in 2010. Over the years I’ve added a lift kit, Mickey Thompson tires, bumper, JW Speaker headlights, Kenwood head unit, Vector bar, etc. and she won’t give it up. Offered to get her a new JL Rubicon but she’s content. Lucky me!! As for me, I’m good with my 2003 TJ Rubicon. Thanks Regina and Brad for all of your awesome videos. Keep ‘em coming.
For the black plastic I use 303 protectant. I also use it on lots of other plastic or polymeric materials such as rubber seals, wiper blades, and so on. It does wonders. I was able to get 3 years from a set of wiper blades instead of 1.25 years out of the previous (same model) set which didn't use the protectant. Also helps with the headlight yellowing
First... '73 Superbeetle.... yaaayyy. We grew up with us four kids crammed in an orange one during our school days. And second.... I LOVE your unicorn. I wish I could find a yellow one just like it, but then it wouldn't be a unicorn.
My only problem with the 2 door is that even with the rear seat out (took it out the day I purchased the Jeep), I can't sleep inside comfortably. Need the extra 6 inches of length that the 4 door provides. And, no, I do not want a roof top tent. If only the front passenger seat would fold flat, the 2 door would be perfect for camping in the boondocks.
This is why I love my 06 LJ. It's definitely dated interior tech-wise(I don't mind). However, it's the perfect size and my friends have their own car they can drive.
Regina is a delight during the discussion. Very good info regarding the pro's and con's of 2 door versus 4 door. I have a 2002 zr2 blazer, and a 1992 4runner. ( and no children ). Love 'em both. Thanks for the smiles.
I love my 2014 two door sport for my overlanding. The turning radius has got me out of some bad situations. But, even with the rear seat removed I could still use more storage space at times. And yes, after market availability sucks for 2 doors.
I just brought home an orange 2 door 2015 stick shift. I had a 1999 and a 2005 TJ, so I was partial to the 2 door anyway. I like to be able to turn around without wearing out reverse. I like everything about it other than the room. My rear seat came out the first day. If I need more room, I have the 95 Cherokee and 2001 Grand Cherokee.
I have had both 2 and 4 door wranglers, and I prefer my 2-door JL. I removed my rear seat and installed a tool box that is fastened in using the seat mounts in the floor. The only issue I have is the limited fuel capacity. My F150 has a 36 gallon tank and gets about the same fuel economy as my JL. On the other hand, my bladder has about the same range as the JL, so no problem!
I have a 2door rubicon 2.8crd (2009) and I love it . I love the handling offroad . It is does behave a bit more "nervous" when driving it but I don't really have problems with that. We have very narrow forest trails where that short wheelbase really comes in handy. where my friends with JKU's have to maneuver between the obstacles , I only have to point and shoot the most of the times ;) . And yes sometimes when it's a real steep climb it can behave a bit tippy , but hey, that keeps the blood flowing :) :) Thanks for the awesome videos ,over and over !
Great pros and cons guys! Your wife's logic is spot on...at least it is to me as I own a 2 door Jeep and love it over my wife's 4 door Explorer (I know, different vehicle, but supports the comparisons). I prefer the 2 door because I do own a BMW as well and I don't feel anything in that. I love being able to park my Jeep in tight spaces and with just one turn in...no maneuvering to get it right. Anyway...thanks for that comparison. I always enjoy your videos.
I'm in the 2 door camp, mostly because it's the size that fits in my garage. But definitely, the choice depends on what the vehicle is going to be used for. Also, watching this back and forth reminds me of that saying about "would you rather be right or be married?"
I have a 2020 JL Rubicon Recon 2-door. I don't need the rear seat so I removed it. I also cut a 1/2" Rubber Horse Stall mat to fit in the rear area for my dogs. They love the traction they get with the mat so they don't slide around and you get a lot more storage space too.
I have a two door Rubicon and I took the back seats out since nobody ever sits back there. The tow capacity is also a bummer. But living by the beach makes the two door so versatile with regards to parking and scooting in and out of tourists. And both of you are right! If the 392 was offered in a two door, I would be at my local Jeep dealer faster than you can say Trail Recon 😂
I'm not sure if you have the V6, if not, try the 2.0L Turbo, tons of power off the start and getting and go on the highway entrance.... loves to coast/purr at 80mph on the highway.
@@natepalmer6137 I have the Penstar V6. Im kinda trapped into keeping my Jeep forever. My dealer offered us a Mopar lifetime bumper to bumper warranty for 3500 bucks that we were happy to purchase. It’s non transferable so we will be keeping this Jeep forever. Plus, it’s a 2014 with 22k miles on her. Only driver her around town and sometimes up the coast.
Thanks for this!! I had a 4 door Rubicon all decked out and ended up trading it for a Grand Cherokee Overland (big mistake) and now looking at a 2 door Rubicon. This really helped - and I love your wife's energy!!!
2 door for me…hey Brad…I’m the guy in the 2004 yellow Rubicon that spoke to you on your trip to Colorado a few years ago. I spoke as we started on the Poughkeepsie Gulch trail then ran into you again at the top …one party in your group broke something so you all took the bypass around “The Wall”. Love the yellow 2-door.
Hey Brad I enjoy your channel, keep up the great work. So your wife's Jeep, I was thinking a cute name for it could be "Bug" in keeping with her history. The color is good and when looking at it, I see a Bug. By the way, I am a TJ owner and will never get rid of it, it's my baby. Hope to see you on the trail one day.
I drive a 2-door 6-speed manual 2013 Wrangler Sport. I love how nimble it is compared to the larger 4-doors and other SUV models. Doesn't get much offroad action aside from some gravel/dirt roads here and there because it's bone stock aside from some BFG A/T KO2 tires (and I'm not very experienced in off-roading), but I'm confident that when push comes to shove, I have the right car for the job. Love every second of driving it! 100% recommend!
Brad, I have been following you for many years now, and have made many modifications as I built my 4dr ‘15 Rubicon into an Overlander. The only upgrade I have seriously regretted, is adding 37” tires. I have never been able to find any tire pressure to get control of the “floating” sensation on the highway and around corners etc. I give up: I’m leaving the diffs for the 37’s, but pulling them back off. I’m going back to the 33” on stock wheels.. maybe someday I’ll try 35”: but those 37” were too heavy.. one feels like you are driving out of control on-road with them; I’m done.
Good points. I would also add that a 2 door generally is more capable stock than a stock 4 door. The short wheel base doesn’t require giant tires or lift to get the belly clearance that 4 doors need on the trail. I still love my 4 door especially with a 4 inch lift and 37s. Also, love that I can take 4 buddies with their gear for a camp out.
I have a 2 door 2018 JL and I love it. I’ve not had any issues either. A two door is more maneuverable, I can put it anywhere and can turn it around in a box. Also 2.5 lift on 35’s.
On my 2018 Rubicon issues I had were: - bad frame welds - plastic fading - axle locker sensors kept going out - aux battery bad every 12 months - loose/sticky steering (that darn alum stering box) - bad steering stabilizer (fixed with recall) - leaky seal on variable valve lift solenoid (3.6L)
My 1998 TJ is named Matilda! I’ve owned her since new and love her. I get offers to buy her at least once a week and she is NOT FOR SALE! Love the video. My brother has a 4 door JK and it’s a “real Jeep,” I just prefer the older TJs and 2 door JLs and JKs.
2 doors hold a soft spot in my heart to this day even after I bought my JKU. The 2 door to me is iconically Jeep Wrangler. You & Regina have pointed out very good points on the pros & cons on both. I would have painted to match the cowl almost as soon as I bought to avoid the annoying fading. Great video!
2 door 💯! 😂 I have the Willys (2024), which I upgraded from my previous VW Golf R, I never liked a 4 door on my R(my 2012 GTI was a 3 door, which I loved). But I have had this itch for outdoors, trail hunting, mountain bike hauling itch that my golf wasn’t capable of without strapping on a roof rack which I hate, a rear hitch would have been cumbersome. I’m 5’4” and the lack of room for 6’2” passengers like yourself just means ample luxury room for myself and the country trails I’ll be hitting. I love my Willys 2 door, it will be my last vehicle I own. 😂
LOVED this!!! I LOVE my 2020 Rubicon all green 2dr!!! I definitely SMILE all the time as this was the vehicle I have wanted for a very long time!!! It was great watching the two of you as my husband and I can relate easily to all you just said - Thanks for all you do!! :-)
What a great video! I am in search for a jeep and this helped with my decision. You need to do more videos together, I really enjoyed the back and forth. Many thanks.
Yup 4Door Won my Heart. Thanks for helping my final decision. Bought myself a Jeep Rubicon 392 with all the "Fancy AddOns" including the Xtreme Recon package. Enjoying it for 2Weeks now still thinking if i will proceed with the 6inch Lift 40inch Tire Upgrade lol
coming in a bit late, but I definitely prefer my 2-door to any 4-door I've driven or ridden in. I don't have passengers often, and it has plenty of space. I do agree that steep hills are a bit more nerve wracking without the wheelbase, but the turn radius more than makes up for it.
I liked my 2 door more than my 4 door, storage was an issue as well, but day 1 of getting my 2 door I took my back seat out and never needed it, So when I get a new one (its my turn, the wife got her vehicle last time) I am gonna get a 2 door Jeep for me and my son to play around in!! Loved the comparison
We have a yellow 2021 Rubicon 2Dr and overall it has been great, but as you mentioned storage is the biggest issue. I fabricated a storage rack that mounts inside where the hard top would attach and it has been great for making it possible to be able to carry all our camping gear.
I think 2 drs are much more sporty looking...now, if you have big family 4 drs is the ideal one. Store rack is good & remember you could remove easily the back seat for more storage too ;-)
I agree, I have a 2 door Jeep Wrangler TJ. Brought it for me because kids are all grown up now and needed a car for myself. I love my Jeep and it still doesn’t have a name as well ❤️
Maybe an off the wall question but have you ever seen a 2 door gas tank next to a 4 door tank? I'm curious if it actually smaller or not. Years back jeep sold a 20 gallon tank as an option on the yj but the only difference was the vent hose was longer on the smaller tank and would be "full" faster. If you removed the vent line and cut it shorter the same tank would hold 20 gallons.
I've got the Gorilla Glass windshield. It may last longer, but they crack too. I've ruined two of them in less than 2 years. My insurance gets me the new windshield when I need it. One of the windshields was replaced under warrant by Corning, making of the Gorilla Glass windshield.
I love how your wife looks at you when you are giving a reason for the 4 door being better. LOL It's like you are talking bad about her child. :) Awesome stuff.
Your wife’s facial expression’s are priceless! Love your all’s content and I’m sitting here binge watching your channel as I wait on my 2022 2 Door Willys. My 5th Jeep I’ve owned and much like your wife, at 60, my needs have changed and look forward to getting back into a 2 Door!
Looking to order a 2 door in the upcoming year. I do occasionally consider some of the options available on the 4 door and question if it is the way to go. 2 door Rubicon with a diesel and 35" tire option would be the cat's meow. Curious what engine you choose for the 2 door? I know the V6 is a proven motor and hear a lot of good things about the performance the 2.0 turbo. I keep going back and forth between the V6 eTorque and the 2.0 turbo.
Brad another great video and after watching several of your video with your wife we went out and bought a 2011 2 door Jeep Wrangler Sport. My wife (Ali) is now putting her touches on hers. Keep posting
I think you missed a critical question. "Better for what?" Regina seems perfectly happy with her choice because it meets her needs better than the four door. Other people have different needs and so the four door is better for them. More "road feel" with the two door is bad if you want a more comfortable drive, but good if you want to get out and have a more visceral involvement with the road. Regina did a wonderful job of biting her tongue while her husband showed off his "more authoritative knowledge". Great video! More!

Awesome story!
Which engine you got in the Sahara please ?
@@jameslindley924 It's going to be the 3.8
That's a great story. Thanks for sharing your journey.
So fun!
I'm buying my first Jeep on Friday. I'm 57 years old and have never owned one. I decided on the 2 door because it's something I've always wanted. I wanted the "iconic" Jeep look. Thanks for the video.
Just bought mine several days ago. 2nd time I’ve owned a Wrangler. They never disappoint.
After owning a 2door wrangler since 1988, I can say that space is an issue you "learn to overcome".. Getting rid of the rear seats actually buys you tons of room
I think I saw this guy with this other Jeep with 4 doors and he had to take that one back for a new transmission!?!? WTF??
NICE! Having a wife that shares that Jeep passion that you do is like winning the lottery.
You got that right!
Lol, I have not won that lottery. My wife couldn’t tell a wrangler from a RAV4 if I paid her.
I thought all girls wanted a white jeep? Atleast all the blondes I’ve been with lol
I don’t have a wife, is a gf like this still a lottery or a scratcher ticket
I had a four door but it wasn’t any fun. I now have a two door and I absolutely love it. It is way more fun.
Jeeps have 2 doors. Which is why I respect Brad's wife and son much more for their Jeeps.
Care to explain why?
I feel the same way about the bronco the 2 doors is the way to go and they are so much fun to drive
Nah 4 door
4 doors look cool, 2 doors are cool.
I am on my 3rd 2 door and absolutely love it. This one is converted to Overlanding and NO back seat. Rooftop tent works great!
That’s exactly why I’m watching this video. I’m plan on doing the same thing
I think I’ll buy the 2 door after watching this. I really couldn’t make up my mind but now it’s clear. Thank you for the video.
Considered a 4dr but bought a 2dr. My thought was that owning a 4 door wrangler is like owning a 55 liter backpack. The extra space entices you to carry a lot of excess gear.
People need to understand what the trailer hitch is for. I've always left the gear on the trailer at base camp.
@@Laugh1ngboy some of us drive them to the trails....
I like the fact that you're both ok to disagree. You're a great couple. Respect for you both. God bless. (I have a 2door ordered).
One major thing I don’t like the bronco. You can’t easily remove the seats and they don’t fold flat in the 2 door
The 2 door JL rear seat looks remarkable similar to the rear seat in my tj down to the way it removes. May need to install the straps on the seat in my TJ so it does flop around when I take off from a stop light
U can fold down the 4 door down and have more storage
I have owned 7 new jeeps. Wranglers in all configurations. Even owned a grand Cherokee. The grand was beautiful to drive, but if I bought another jeep today, it would be 100% a 2 door Wrangler. Most fun to drive! Turning circle is hands down a big reason. Thanks for your video. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
I’m on Regina’s side! I have 2013 JK 2 door and I love it-kids on their own.Let her do what she wants-she deserves it!
Wheeling a 2 door is more fun on most trails. I had a JLUR for a while but it didn’t feel right. I sold it and bought an 06 LJ with a 6 speed. I’m loving it!
You could be loving the LJ more because its the best jeep platform since forever
You guys should name the Jeep Tweety since it can go anywhere and “escape” the putty tat.
With Regina's involvement in the videos, I've converted my wife into a TrailRecon watcher! She's not going to drive herself on the trails with her stock '06 TJ but she likes to hear a woman's point of view on trail rides and overlanding. Thanks for another great video!
That's awesome! Thank you both for watching! 😁
Money can’t buy happiness but it can buy a Jeep. I’ve never seen anyone sad driving a Jeep. 4-door all the way here! I love my Cherry Garcia JKU.
I’m with Regina- 2 door all the way. Love the fun factor. 4 doors just too stodgy. And I solved the purse issue with a between the seats handbag holder.
Thanks for watching! I'll have to let Regena know about your solution. 👍

Haha. She’s less sensitive than you!!!
I love my 2-door Jeep. I never use the back seat, so I took it out.
When I was in the Navy, home-ported at Alameda NAS, I bought a '58 Willys M38 from a fellow sailor. I loved how maneuverable it was off road and on. If I was buying today, I'd get the 2 door Wrangler. Same with the Bronco.
God Bless Veterans .....Maj (Dr) DJ Oshansky =)
Thank you for watching the channel!
I bought a Jeep last year and I only looked at 2-door versions. Just look sleeker in my opinion. Ended up with a 2-door 2020 Sport S and I love it.
I got a 2 door Sport, we liked it so much we got my husband a 4 door Unlimited Sport! Everything you said in this video is so true!
Just by thinking of back down on a mountain road will let my heart jump out...
And dog needs a window to roll down without airbag danger.
Mine fits in the trailer at base camp every time I go.
@@dmwi1549 You have been able to disable the passenger bag since 2001
2 piece fishing rods for me. :)
Rod holder on roof for my 82' CJ7 Laredo.
Yes, the two door is the real jeep. haha
Love the channel!
I only wave to two doors...and don't get me started when I see a Gladiator give the wave...😤
Imagine buying a 4 door “jeep”
My previous jeep was a 4dr. My current one is a 2dr...Definitely love the feel of the 2dr more. But I have noticed it's more slippery in snow...that 4dr definitely does better in snow in my opinion. Love them both tho!
I’m with her… 🤣
To each their own, but I’m partial to 2 door, manual, soft top.
I'm a minimalist and most men are or at least were during my upbringing. Today, we're a rare breed. Ladies and "certain men" need a lot of room for shopping bags and a lot of other unnecessary 💩.
My 04’ LJ is my favorite!
I drive an XJ and absolutely love it. But I'd trade it for an LJ, in two heartbeats
Love that jeep! and i own a 1999 sport with 70k miles and would love to own a LJ and the LJ is the greatest jeep ever made period.
I love the looks of the 2dr but imo 4dr ecodiesel is the way to go!!! Great video guys!
FINALLY! Some two door life love! I'll be glad when all the other YT Jeep channels come to their senses and get on the 2dr bandwagon.
"She's smiling all the time when she drives it" - the only spec that matters
I had a 2dr, two station wagons and a JT. Sold the JT and order a 2dr. Picked it up one week ago. Love it! 2drs or no doors!
And yes sometimes when it's a real steep climb it can behave a bit tippy , but hey, that keeps the blood flowing :) :)
Thanks for the awesome videos ,over and over !
More Regina! More couples videos. The two of you on camera are so entertaining!
Regina, there are straps with hooks you can connect from the bottom of the passenger headrest where you can hang your purse.
I'm in the 2 door camp, mostly because it's the size that fits in my garage. But definitely, the choice depends on what the vehicle is going to be used for. Also, watching this back and forth reminds me of that saying about "would you rather be right or be married?"
lots of people have that garage issue. Personally I would ditch my Trailhawk for a Ram pick-up
Kudos Brad.... Regina has brought extra smiles to the channel......
Loving the Jeep Couple mood.
Really cool video, I'm 63 and just purchased my first ever Jeep Wrangler 2 door last month. Is a Sport S color Earl and love it.
We hope you find the perfect 2 door! Thank you!
As an owner of a TJ this may be a complete shocker. I am in the 2 door camp.
I love it when you are both on the video Brad & Regina. A great double act 💝💝😎😎
Love the KC lights on the yellow Jeep! I’ve got 4 original 70’s KC’s waiting for my to build a windshield light mount on my yellow tj rubicon
They're the best! Love those smiley faces. 😁
You guys are awesome! Made me smile and laugh listening to you guys going back and forth lol
I have a 2 door 2018 JL and I love it. I’ve not had any issues either. A two door is more maneuverable, I can put it anywhere and can turn it around in a box. Also 2.5 lift on 35’s.
On my 2018 Rubicon issues I had were:
- bad frame welds
- plastic fading
- axle locker sensors kept going out
- aux battery bad every 12 months
- loose/sticky steering (that darn alum stering box)
- bad steering stabilizer (fixed with recall)
- leaky seal on variable valve lift solenoid (3.6L)

@@stevelemley7159 +1. And the ultimate... real Jeeps are built, not bought.
I have a 2 door jeep Wrangler x and I love the turning radius on mine
What a great video! I am in search for a jeep and this helped with my decision. You need to do more videos together, I really enjoyed the back and forth. Many thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
I love my Jeep and it still doesn’t have a name as well ❤️
The storage and practicality of the 2 door is ridiculous. If you can deal with that, it's incredibly nimble. But the 4 door is good for everything.
Taking the back seat out of the 2 door creates the ultimate trunk. I love it.
Lol, I was confused for a second there. I was just thinking “but storage of a 2 door is so easy. It’s only like 166 inches long.”
I dont' know about that. I love my Cayman S....ooops. Sorry. Wrong channel. 😉
Except country mile turn radius..and break angle. More storage More weight..not good
@@smokeGR14 for me the break angle is the deal breaker
In a perfect world having one of each is the answer. I'm so happy for me!
Sounds like the "unbreakable" screen cover I had for my iPhone...I've broken two of them. 🤷🏻♀️
Considering most rigs are far overweight, the size of the 2 door might be helpful!
I have a 2 door 2021 JL. My kids are 12 and 8. They love the 2 door and don't mind having to get into the back. It is so much fun to drive.
More!
You and Regina are a pleasure to listen to. Love the loving banter you two have!! Great job!! Thanks
