Just found your channel. So good. You're only the second person I've heard mention the concept of trueing a BDC. It makes all the difference in my experience.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss, I lost my dobbie a few years ago from old age, she had a great 9 years and they are a fantastic breed! Dobermans and boxers are my two breeds and they’re both fantastic! I have a female boxer now and unfortunately she’s getting up there in age and it’s going to be devastating when she goes! another awesome thing about this mount is that it puts the ACOG high enough so that you can use the hole that runs through the base of the ACOG as a rear backup iron sight.
it works for me with the ta-31. to be clear, i’m talking about the hole that runs through the entire bottom of the ACOG. using that as the rear aperture instead of having an actual rear backup iron sight in a pinch/emergency
also, it doesn’t work that way with a standard acog mount or a KRAM spacer. the unity cog mount is just the right height to be able to use it that way.
ADM made a mount that does the same thing, a quick detach one at that. They recently (last year or two) made the entire thing lower to accommodate more Acog Models, which sucks because it’s such an awesome feature. I saved mine and was able to get another one they had stashed away in case someone requested one, so I was able to get one for a friend. They’re tall enough (just barely) to accommodate a full size fixed rear iron, which lines up precisely with the hole in the center of the mount. With it being QD, (and reliably return to zero, I’ve tested many times to verify), you’ve got essentially 3 different ways to aim - the Acog, the canted / top dot, and the irons straight through the mount. If something happened to make the Acog unusable That didn’t also kill you (not sure what that would be lol), the QD function let you rip it off and keep rockin with your fixed irons that weren’t bothering anything in the first place, and are more sturdy than folding ones to boot. Great optic, and damn if ADM doesn’t make great mounts.
Cheeezuuus man, I stumbled upon this video and you just answered so many questions that I had in the “research later backlog” part of my mind; this kind of information mixed with your presentation is invaluable, thank you so much.
My best friend had a Doberman who passed away a few months ago. One of the sweetest and most loyal dogs I’ve ever known. Sorry to hear about Kato, I haven’t lost my dog yet and I can only imagine what kind of state I’ll be in when she’s gone. Gonna go spend some time with her now, I wish you the best.
Yeah I wasn’t either . It was like a 6 hour decline randomly. I knew it was bad so I rescheduled work to stay with him till the end. He let out two full streams of tears just like a human in his last minutes for me to say goodbye. Couldn’t even believe it man. Never seen anything like that in a dog. Give nice big kisses , which I already know you do.
I have only watched a couple of your videos but I have been a shooter for a long time. Nice to see someone present things factually without a heap of bullshit! Keep it up brother.
Seriously great content. I watched all the videos in a week after discovering this channel and many of them multiple times. Such great content. Inb4 a million subs. 🤘🏽
Awesome video. This high mount craze we are in is ridiculous. I was on the range the other day and watched a guy with a LPVO in a 1.93 be useless out past 300 as he chased his BDC around because it was no longer accurate. I’m 6’6 with a big ass head and have no problem getting behind a standard height optic. I’m really sorry to hear about your dog. I have a 9 year old hound with terminal cancer, probably only a few weeks left. I dread it every day, but wouldn’t trade my time with her for anything. Thanks for feeding my ACOG content addiction.
Yeah I’m undecided for higher mounts since we’d probably shoot night ops like .00000000000001% of the time so why cater to the night. During daylight I like 1/3 personally for a lot of reasons. As far as the dog, thanks man. He was my dude. Super bummed. At least I called off work to spend his last hours with him . More Acog videos releasing soon. Thanks again!
A good bit of ppl run 1.93 lpvo its really not that uncommon i mean if you can run nods or a gas mask behind a standard height mount than more power to you...and its mainly a training issue if he is chasing his bdc [the guy at your range] not the mount height..stay blessed brother...1.93 is pretty common now
I’m not a fan of the 1.93 or higher stuff, like you said it throws off BDC’s not to mention your in close offset is much higher. For the gas mask and passive argument you should run just a dot. If anything you should just run a normal heigh scope mount and light back the dot.
@@deltathirtyfour happy to hear zeroing the acog didn’t have much of a difference. Going to aight in a ta-11 on a 9.0 Kram spacer. See how the zeroing goes.
I wanted to give you two thumbs up, one for the content and one for Kato. That didn't work out, so I gave Kato two thumbs up and the content another. I just stumbled on your channel, and I love it. Thanks for all you do, all you did, and Kato seems like a hero.
I love Unity, but yeah, they are definitely not cheap. Great video with good pacing, production, and is very informative. Thank for you sharing! Sorry to hear about your goodest boy. It was a surprising but nice memorial at the end.
Thanks. Hopefully the take away was to true In the reticle if someone buys this mount. I had to memorialize him cause he’s all I’ve been thinking about the last two weeks since he passed. Couldn’t let him not be remembered . This way his memory will live on . Thanks and stay tuned. I have more informative stuff in the works.
Just now viewing this but just want to say sorry for your loss; my pup is about 8 years old now - not sure exactly since we adopted her after she was picked up as a stray. Keep up the good work!
2:46 You can always mount the rear BUIS forward of the ACOG haha My first Labrador died just after he turned 14. He spent his life in the entirety of my late teens and all of my 20's. I am only child so losing him was the closest thing I felt to losing a brother. Condolences for Kato man. He looked like he had a good life.

I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. We lost one that only made it to six years old due to complications from epilepsy just recently. The house wasn’t right without a dog so to make the kids happy we got one pretty quickly. The little puppy sure spices the place up a lot. Hopefully you can do the same. Great vid!
@@deltathirtyfour that is one of the most important things you could do for him. Be there at the very end. It's tough but that's real love brother. On a lighter note, I picked up a reconditioned Ta-31 original Acss reticle. Can't get out out this weekend, but I'll be putting your information to use weekend after.
@@deltathirtyfour original. I thought I would enjoy the big horseshoe more than a big Chevron like the 31F reticle I already have. The center Chevron is very small though so we'll see how the binden speed is vs grouping at distance. I shoot mostly optics with yard measurements. This is my 4th Acog. Ta-44 acss and Ta-50 as well
@@trunkmonkey56 yeah the original acss chevron is almost a “dot” since it’s small. I did have the 1.5x Acog as well but outside of having a bdc it didn’t seem a large percentage more useful than a red dot . I also kinda hated the small amount of magnification using it in super close ranges. I just got to filament all models again at the trijicon booth which I’ll include in my reticle video.
Cool video it is amazing how sophisticated rifle sight options have come too. All that stuff is irrelevant when your under fire first shot wins no restart game over if you train with what you got you will be proficient whether using irons lpvo Aviv ECT
Excellent vid! It turned out to be better than just a review. It's helpful for any optic with a bdc. I know the vid is a few months old, but sorry to hear about losing your buddy. It's a tough one. My buddy Jeep passed 18 years ago. I haven't been able to get another since.
Sorry for your loss brother... we have 4 rescue pits 14 13 (end of life care) 2 and 7 months and watching Micky get old sucks balls... hang in there and get another he wouldn't want you to be alone...

The quality and information in this video is great. I've been looking at higher offset mounts for my TAO1. The higher mount offset causing POI to shift up at range doesn't bother me. Reminds me of the AK zero method where you hold at the belt line to land rounds on a man sized target from 25m out to 300m
The 5.5 Kram clears over the magpul MBUS pro with no issue. The issue with the knight micro iron is that fat drum on it as well as the stock acog mount may just be a tad bit lower than all of the aftermarket options. Sorry to hear about your dog my man it's never easy losing them and you will never truly forget them. Always best to try and focus on the good times you had together.
Ironically I had been organizing all of my videos and photos before he passed and I had a folder for his pics and videos so I wanted to let his memory live on beyond me. I did almost mention the mbus pro because it probably the slimmest backup, so I just said “one of the lowest” for the micro. I couldn’t find my extra mbus laying around for the vid so I said “f-it” good to know for people who have one though that it does work.
Sorry about your doge, but glad he had a good life. I had a beautiful husky mix that went way too early and it still hurts. But her successor (coyote/ pitbull) is a sight to behold. I'll be praying for you. Keep up the excellent work.
Thank you for the video.I have a MCX Virtus with a 16" barrel and was worried the BDC would not work with my setup. After watching the video I got a 31 with crosshair.I was spot on to 400 meters.I aways used irons in the service, and the acog helps with my old eyes.
RIP to all the good boys out there! Lost my best friend of 11 years last summer. Miss that little mutt every day. We shouldn’t mourn that good dogs die, we should thank god that good dogs lived! When you’re ready, go get another one and give him the full life he deserves.
I’ve always loved the Acog. Been running one for about 18 yrs. I still run all of the other options as well but there’s something special about this optic to Me , so versatile. Lpvo have some pros and cons compared but can’t go wrong with either. Gotta go through the trade offs . And if you do go the Acog route I have a reticle selection video coming up that I think is worth watching before you buy . I try to show through video examples the pros and cons of reticle selection . Also thanks for watching. Much appreciation!
It will be lighter than any LPVO, and more durable than just about any LPVO, without the battery life issues, although trijicons tritium/fiber optic LPVOs don't have that issue.
I put one of these on my PWS Mk114. Haven't had it to the range yet. Reticle on the TA01NSN is probably totally void due to the higher from boreline and 14.5 P/W 1 in 8. It's an interesting set up for sure. Time will tell.
New sub, love the content . Just trying to figure out which Acog to buy . And yes Very sorry for your loss, and like one my teammates used to always say , "all dogs should go to heaven " . Cheers . G.S.
Thanks for the condolences ! He was my fav. There’s a few more Acog videos in my library that may help you decide worth checking out. And… a new one inbound .
Just found your channel yesterday and I’ve already watched all your ACOG vids! You should definitely have more subscribers! I have a TA31-DOC (red crosshairs with the piggyback DR sight), sitting on a 14.5” barrel in the original colt mount. Trijicon told me years ago it should be zeroed at 100M, but they never specified the ammo type. Should it also be M855? Also, is there a good “middle of the road” ammo type for guys that shoot various loads? 55, 62, 75, 77 grains.. Thanks! Your channel is great!
Yeah that doc was an early model of it’s the tan body tan cap one. I just buy a lot of m855 because it what I’m used to from service days. 55 and 62 don’t seem too much different inside of 300 , also a good idea for a video. Glad you liked the videos I appreciate everyone that watches them.
One use I've had for these giraffe neck risers is shooting with glasses. I am an optical abomination in more ways than one, so I have tried chasing all kinds of setups trying to find something that I like. currently I'm testing a Strike Eagle 1-6 with Unity's LPVO mount. The upper frame of my glasses cuts the sight picture in half when I shoot with a normal height scope mounted for proper eye relief. While red dot doesn't have this problem, to complicate matters I have an insane astigmatism. A 2 MOA red dot turns into a 10+ MOA red splotch, so I have to use an optic with an etched reticle if I want to even think about being accurate at any kind of distance. An increased mount height moves the optic into a position where it must be used with a more upright head position, therefore also raising my top frame of my glasses out of the way of the scope. Eye surgery is not on the cards for me right now, and contacts are not something that I can immediately put on in a "bump in the night" scenario or any other situation where getting ready quickly is necessary, so I have to make do with what I have for now. I also don't mind the height itself it that much. I would hazard to guess that a significant portion of people complaining about the height, may not have actually tried the height to begin with. That said, I'm not some kind of super marksman, I'm just an average person, so your mileage may vary I guess. This is not to discredit people who *have* tried the height and didn't like it, as well. Your narration is cool btw. At first I thought you using were a text to speech, then you started talking for real lol. On the down low, I actually really like your narration because you don't have this disgusting rising intonation at the end of your sentences, like some other guntubers do. Listen to the first 15 seconds of a Forgotten Weapons video (love those videos but the narrator's "uptalk" verbal tic drives me nuts) and you'll see what I mean. cheers
A lot of good input for those who wear glasses. That would add a layer of complication for sure. I liked the mount. Unity did a great job. I was running my lpvo at 3.1 hob for about a year and loved it. I’ll check out that forgotten weapons you mention. As far as mine, it takes a while to match film and what’s being said so every video sounds busted haha. Thanks for watching !
@@deltathirtyfour I've watched your other ACOG videos and yeah, your videos are really cool dude. I like that you actual contributing something thoughtful to discussion instead of making 20 minute or longer videos that are basically glorified product manual read-a-longs. This stuff that you're making right now is the stuff that I will watch from beginning to end. I wish I'd done more research on this height over bore and zeroing shenanigans *before* I'd blown a couple hundred on an optic setup, but hey, you live and learn lol. Best I can do with the ranges I have access to is calculate how low/high I'd need to zero at 25 yards. Nearest 200yd+ range is about 50 miles away so it sucks just a little bit
@@ndx6779 very kind words, I appreciate that. Makes it worth it to me if I can help people. As far as your zero, Once you get it one weekend dialed in to the height at 50, maybe the next weekend hit that 200 yard/meter range and confirm it in. totally worth it sleeping at night knowing its a fine tuned instrument.
I have well over 1.5k worth of Unity products, so I obviously like them. The only thing that kills me is, not a single sticker. I know it’s petty, but come on… Scalarworks throw in a sticker. Hell, even Reptilia throws one in with a $18 grip😂😂😂
😢 Brother, so sorry to hear about Cato, that sucks (you know how attached I am to my pair of GSD’s)! Great video as always, wish I could have loaned you that TA01B I had, but that dude bought it off of me with a quickness.
All good. I have a feeling it would be similar to my other crosshair models. I did have the 01B before but traded it years ago. Thanks for watching as always Carlo!
I'm so glad I stumbled upon your channel. The plethora of information you have on the ACOG alone has been a life saver. With that being said, I wanted to pick up the USMC RCO for my FN M4, but was wondering which one should I go for, the one calibrated for the 14.5" barrel or the 20" barrel, or would the difference be so minute that it wouldn't matter? Also, terribly sorry to hear about your dog. Losing a pet is one of the worst feelings in the world. But at least we can always take solace in that we gave them the best we could.
If your gonna commit to the 20” I would say get the actual A4 because it’s flatter and since most civilian ranges are in yardage (closer increments than meters) it won’t drop as much as a 14.5 would . The A4 would impact better trued in between yards and meters. If you do snatch up a used m4 reticle, you could always true it in at 400 and calibrate everything pretty close though. I have a good barrel and reticle video In the works now. Hope that helps! Wait….. I read that wrong , you have the m4 not the m16a4 , yeah you’ll wanna get the m4 reticle if possible, but you can make the A4 reticle work close 400 and in if trued. You’ll have some slightly lower impacts at 1, and 2 but not enough to worry since a torso would be so big at that range.
Awesome video as always. I’m seeing more and more ACOG videos coming up because people are starting to question whether or not they need magnification between their minimum or maximum settings At the expense of weight. In your opinion, what is the most versatile optics set up right now? Is it the ACOG/RMR? I have a TA 31 with a Holosun 507C mounted on top that I absolutely love
I have a 4 part video on this topic of most versatile optic setups. Part 2 is dropping in two weeks , part 3 probably in 4 weeks and a final part where we show scenarios that narrow down optimization. The Acog combo is still very versatile, top 5 probably, just needs a slight updating which will be in an upcoming video. Only reason I say that the videos will cover it is because I’ll be more thorough in the video than I can be through text. I believe it helps to see what I’m talking about rather than me just telling. Stay tuned for sure ! Thanks again !
@@deltathirtyfour looking forward to it! I don’t think there’s anyone else on UA-cam that takes such a thoughtful approach to WHY we choose the options we do on these rifles. I am trying to find the part 1 video you’re taking about, is it the night vision setup video?
@Florida Man HVACR I like that you mentioned ‘with a scope for the distance that fits the users terrain’ good stuff. Optimal for a western Texan may not be the same optimal for a guy in Brooklyn. Good stuff!
The dog thing.. it fuckkng hurts. We had a total loss house fire back in 17. It was just as difficult to deal with the loss of our great dog and cats as it was to deal with the loss of everything else. Probably harder. Still miss 'em. Sorry dude.. My sincerest condolences. RIP Kato. You were loved.
I looked at the unity, but went with the kram. That way I can remove the acog without tools. Plus it’s cheaper. I suppose a red dot can always go up top.
Hello, I just came across your channel and you do an amazing job. I’m buying a DD V7 Pro. With all this information I’m so dam confused on which ACOG to buy. Love the look of the 31 (yes I know it’s not about looks) it’s the field of view and 4x. I see the 11 solves that problem just seems bulky. Is the Kram Mount worth it and would it really solve my eye relief issue. I see in passed videos you recommend the 11. I need help this issue is driving me insane. Thanks for all the effort you’ve put into these videos. It helps people like me more than you can imagine.
Yeah if you use the kram spacer to get it back or even just remove the rear flip up iron you’ll get it back to a good spot. Most people enjoy that for the eye relief dislike. It also keep the weight to the rear so the 4x feels even lighter .
I have a carry handle mounted TA47. An issue with "chin-welding" ACOGs is they're not particularly parallax friendly - so unless you can get a consistent chin weld or you can set up a cheek riser you're always fighting the reticle bouncing around in the sight picture and throwing your POA off. Also, I tried shooting through a TA110 with NODs and the big issue was needing to adjust the PVS focus to get a clear image through the sight. I think a prism with a diopter adjustment may solve that issue.
Yeah, I’ve heard some people have parallax issues at distance. I think I have a good repeatable sight picture/head position so I don’t notice it as much. I even shot it at 90degrees in my off angle video and didn’t notice too much parallax. As far as focus, the 4x has such a large fov that I didn’t have to change my front focus much. In my upcoming Acog reticle video I’m making it covers a lot of that. I don’t want to have to change focus between observation, and then passive aiming if I don’t have to. More on that later Appreciate the input. Every bit counts.
Great video. I’m really close to taking the dive into Acogs. I’m Brass Facts video you said one of the Acogs has the possibility to mount the rmr rear AND forward. Which one were you referencing?
The ta02 4x led battery model and the ta11 3.5x battery model has a forward mounting position. I’m playing with good top mount dots currently but remember nods will bump on the back of acogs unless you run the 3x forward, accepting a smaller fov.
Love these videos. I started watching them, and they made me decide to keep my old ACOG, add a piggyback, and use that combo instead of the new RDS + magnifier I bought for my new build. Do you have a certain round you prefer as a defensive round? If so, how much of a POI difference does it make compared to the m855? I also was considering getting a taller mount, but seems like that would make shooting a piggyback RDS pretty tough… I’d be interested to know if there’s a standard-height mount you prefer over the normal Colt mount.
The Acog and top dot combo is pretty awesome. I’ll talk about that a bit in my ta02 video coming out. And far as ammo I run a lot of m855 because I’m so used to it and it’s very accurate out of my dd barrels. I will have an ammo video video as well down the road showing what each rounds does with the Acog bdc. As far as mounts I wouldn’t go any higher unless you play to run a dot canted. Outside of the stock mount I like the geissele mount even though it’s not qd. It’s a strong and very well machined mount.
With that mount would you say that’s carry handle hight? I’m having an issue with my acog ta02. I did bore sight and my acog was maxed out high still aiming below target. Any tips how to get my zero down and what distance do you recommend.
The unity with a kram spacer will get you close but I’m not sure how the ta02 is bottomed out. I’d have to mess with it in person . Hope you get it all figured out !

These two breeds are the most loving, supportive and intelligent animals I’ve ever had the pleasure of sharing my life and we honestly don’t deserve them!
Totally agreed, I can’t even get a new one because I feel like I’d be betraying his companionship.
@@deltathirtyfour I don’t feel it would be a betrayal, I am sure he’d want you to be happy and to share your love and companionship with another lucky pup, just as you did with him! another awesome thing about this mount is that it puts the ACOG high enough so that you can use the hole that runs through the base of the ACOG as a rear backup iron sight.
It’s not tall enough to co witness with a front iron is it ?
it works for me with the ta-31. to be clear, i’m talking about the hole that runs through the entire bottom of the ACOG. using that as the rear aperture instead of having an actual rear backup iron sight in a pinch/emergency
also, it doesn’t work that way with a standard acog mount or a KRAM spacer. the unity cog mount is just the right height to be able to use it that way.
ADM made a mount that does the same thing, a quick detach one at that. They recently (last year or two) made the entire thing lower to accommodate more Acog
Models, which sucks because it’s such an awesome feature. If something happened to make the Acog unusable
That didn’t also kill you (not sure what that would be lol), the QD function let you rip it off and keep rockin with your fixed irons that weren’t bothering anything in the first place, and are more sturdy than folding ones to boot. Great optic, and damn if ADM doesn’t make great mounts.
Cheeezuuus man, I stumbled upon this video and you just answered so many questions that I had in the “research later backlog” part of my mind; this kind of information mixed with your presentation is invaluable, thank you so much.
My pleasure ! Glad you got from it what I hoped!

The dog thing sucks. I've had my dog for 10 years, I'm not ready for her to pass. My condolences
Seriously great content. I watched all the videos in a week after discovering this channel and many of them multiple times. Such great content. Inb4 a million subs. 🤘🏽
You da man! You hanks so much for checking out my vids. More soon. Been a busy guy.
Had my razor in a 1.93 and had no issues with the bdc at all. The height of the optic really doesn't change the bdc very much at all.
@@gatlinggunlover depending on mount height it’s not as severe. But it does change it. More so noticeable out to further distance.

Seems like the ACOG is gaining a little more popularity again, I know I’m thinking about grabbing one instead of going with an LPVO.

Appreciate you watching! Mount is pretty cool and welcome aboard , make yourself at home!
Your videos are all awesome !!

The m4 rco for sure. Sorry I read your comment wrong…..

Yeah if you use the kram spacer to get it back or even just remove the rear flip up iron you’ll get it back to a good spot. Most people enjoy that for the eye relief dislike. It also keep the weight to the rear so the 4x feels even lighter .
@@deltathirtyfour Thank You.
In an urban shtf environment, when I want to smoke fools & zombolaz that are closer than 150 yards from me, what optic should I get?
Acog+rmr
Nice vid. I thought unitys site prices include taxes and shipping is free above $100
I think it offers free (not priority) and then a flat rate for faster shipping.
What zero would you consider for a top mounted rmr with the 9.0 kram spacer. Keep bringing the content. Do you have a links to your other accounts
If you like a normal 36/300 I’d say do 60y if you like a 50/200 maybe 75y zero .
@deltathirtyfour Thank you again I appreciate it.
@@brianclarke3376 my pleasure!
@@deltathirtyfour right on man! I cannot find a pic of the ta11 with the forward rmr
@@deltathirtyfour never mind just found it. Ta110. Thanks for the info sir
@@deltathirtyfour Awesome! Thanks so much, and keep up the good work!
@@timmah2723 will do!
Outstanding 🇺🇸
Came for the ACOG mount, subbed for the dog. RIP ❤
Thanks man! My one and only Kato!
Briar Rabbit! Wasn’t expecting to see that place on here
I host an event there, add my Instagram to see details and dates.
I didnt know i was going to shed a tear at the end of this video. RIP Doggo
I’ve watched it a few times just to see him again , I know the feeling !
Can’t wait till you get the Scalarworks Acog mount would love a Unity Scalar shootout!👍🏼🤯🔫
Not sure if I’ll mess with the scalar works anytime soon :( maybe a short.
Sorry about Kato I lost my Rottweiler a few years back Bud he loved riding in the back of my truck drool blowing in the wind he was family and it’s always hard loosing family! 💔🐕🦺🫶🏼

Sure was! Thanks .
Spikes Tactical makes a rear iron sight that will work with a .7 spacer.
Nice! TY!
