The Russian Tula .223 banter killed me.
Thanks, when writing the script I wanted to capture the essence of running tula compared to quality ammo :). A few of my buddies cracked up when they heard that thanks for watching !
How is this channel so small ?
It better than %99 of the rest
Keep it up sir
Just started posting during this last year. Maybe it will gain some views for those who like some helpful instruction. Thanks for watching !!
Number of subscribers is not directly proportional to quality content and this channel is the gold standard to prove that point.
Kind words ! I appreciate that, keeps me pumped to keep makin’ videos. Thank you sincerely!
Watching your MOA issues at 300 reminds me of so many issues I've had learning to shoot beyond 100 yards.
Well I thought it was 1/4 moa adjustments haha. I’m used to my accupoint .
Dude this channel is excellent. Great work. I love how detailed you are with sighting in optics. I've watched this one and the Acog one and I was super impressed. Great info. Keep it up!
Thanks chase! I do have some awesome stuff in the works. But the animations take quite some time. Stay tuned and they’ll post every so often I think everyone will get some value from them!

Great stuff! Never thought about color coding for different ammo types. Also great tip on the dye!
Thanks ! I switch between ammo frequently and learned this little trick to jump across types and still have a tight zero . Especially when there is ammo shortages and we only get what we can.
I used dark brown RIT dye on my ACU pattern camo and it turned out a little darker than what yours did. Awesome video and info.
My pleasure. We used the brown on some ctr sticks and they came out great.

Regarding steel case ammo. Yes it is true that brass is softer than steel but that's not why steel gets stuck in the chamber on a fast cycling rifle. It's because steel holds onto the heat longer and therefore doesn't shrink fast enough to release from the chamber wall.
They don’t shrink back before there being extracted. The extraction process is fractions of a second from heat/pressure expansion. Brass can be ripped out easier after expansion since it’s softer. Brass will still be skin melting hot after extraction still above a contracting temp. In this video the lip of the cases was ripped off front the steel surface to surface tension being more resistant to extraction. If you have a document showing that brass can drop from its max temp after firing, to the temp it drops to to cause contraction in less that the time the gas cycles the extraction , I promise to read it.
@@deltathirtyfour "Extensive analyses show that case temp at maximum radial displacement (where maximum plastic strain occurs), as well as the final case temperature at time of extraction, is of primary importance to the residual clearance" p23 ndiastorage.blob.core.usgovcloudapi.net/ndia/2019/armament/SiewertTutorial5.pdf

Yeah the small 1moa dot on my black poa definitely helped!
Putin laughing in the Tula box was hilarious 🤣
Cause even he knows it’s not good .
A few years late but you can avoid Tula malfunctions such as the one you had with a heavy enough buffer tube since, as you said, it'd slow the cycle time down. You only had one malf but I've had rifles have failures to cycle every other round and the H2 buffer weight solved it.
Yeah, underpowered ammo can cause issues, I do run h2 in a few and it does seem to help. Appreciate the tip!
That paint idea is on point
Very useful for a lot of optics/ammo. Thanks for checkin’ the video out !
The way u showed the double aas in the compartment using some kind of software that was dope.
I had issues with a lot of ammo that was getting stuck in my gun. Paint can openers work amazingly to get stuck cases out.
I’ve heard that but the paint can trick wouldn’t get tula out sometimes.
Good work ;) Keep it up! This was a very helpful and well made video.
Thanks ! Multiple ammo types are common during panics so it’s good to know you won’t impact on the same trajectory when jumping across types. Marking a few cartridge types on your optic is very very handy.
"If it can't run the steel, it doesn't deserve the brass."- Generic AK person
Some AR manufacturers straight up tell you not to use steel case ammo or void any warranty and I feel some kind of way about that. Feels like discrimination to me.

I like to use a paint can opener to help remove stuck brass/steel cases. You can paracord it a kit for Eas of use in the feild .
Yeah I keep one para-chorded with me but it doesn’t always work.
War dog, great video. I'm an old retired Marine with bad eyes. As such I just purchased an EOTEC and a Pyser collimator that's calibrated for 300 meters hoping they will help me achieve an initial BZO. My rifle is a 16" M4 with a 1/7 twist and my ammo of choice is M885 62 grain. My issue is I do not know how to achieve an initial BZO with the EOTECH and collimator for 300 meters. In the Corps we used 36/300. This meter stuff the Army uses confuses me... Any suggestions?
Thanks and Semper Fi
Ken
Hey hey devil dog, yeah I actually like the 36/300 myself, especially since most civilian ranges are in yards. Just do your 36 zero with the Eotech and you’ll be super close at 300. Collimating usually has a max distance you can use it to so maybe just zero it at 36 until you can go out and pop some rounds at 300y with real rounds. Maybe invest in. Magnifier if eyesight is not as good as the young days.
Shoutout to the "robot" camera man sitting down range to be shot at for the intro

I love the Sowell shirt.
It was a gift someone got me, thanks ! Some love it , some hate it haha
Thought process I ponder often. Please advise your thoughts.
Obviously we want every round to land but as true combat has shown thousands of rounds are often expensed per kill. If you were dialed with a particular ammo and found a new ammo and let the powder burn and send it down range. Would battlefield effectiveness be impacted to a substantial degree?
Either way I’m loving the meticulous production quality you have. I’m sharing with all my gun buddies.
Appreciate that and fair points, this just keeps the 1000’s down when you switch. Missing way off would waste 2000 instead of 1000 if not corrected for lower powered ammo in the zero/truing . Appreciate the share ! You rock!
Great video thanks 👍

One half MOA adjustments do not become one and one half MOA adjustments at three hundred yards. MOA is an angular unit of measure. Half MOA at 100 yards is half MOA at 500 is half MOA at 1,000. MOA do not equal inches, though they may subtend a certain inch measurement at a given distance. While this may seem pedantic, understanding the subject matter is a prerequisite to giving expert advice.
Your correct. I meant 1 and a half inches @300y (Roughly) I’m aware of the exact conversion as well. Thanks for catching that. I’ll do better!
I was thinking of doing the Same thing marking my green tip with green paint and and for my m193 with silver paint

Awesome stuff man, really appreciate your videos. I wish I had a range like that it looks awesome. What range were you shooting at?
This range is briar rabbit shootings sports in Ohio.
Appreciate you watching ! We switch between m855/193 and tula for plinking quite a bit and this is how we do quick truing at 300 between the types. Slow in the beginning, fast after it’s done. .
Bro new sub unlike others I see you have some awesome produced videos explaining different optics and FOV with great tips . BTW I love my Eotechs they rock!!! I don't have a nice range like yours to true my optics, but I switched a few rifles from a 50/200 to a 36 yards zero since the farthest my range goes too is 220 yards. Planning on hitting the desert when it cools down to verify this new zero just curious if you ever ran that zero and if you can see how effective it is on your range. Keep up the great vids👍
I actually prefer the 36...ish/300 for all single point of aim optics. 25 meters through 40 yards for first zero intersection will all impact on a 300yrd/meter target. It’s a matter of how high or low you want your 300. The 36yard zero will come out of barrel 2.5 inches below the optic.... rise to impact on your dot exact at 36, then rise to about 2 inches above your dot on a target at 150, then descend back down 4 inches low at 300 yards. I raise it on 300 during truing so it’s more like a 300 meter truing if that makes sense. The 36/300 YARD zero isn’t too much different than a 25/300 METER as far as zeroing and being able to directly impact at 300y/m.
@@deltathirtyfour Cool right on appreciate the quick reply. BTW your iron sight video was on point. I have the same target as yours and some 10 inch plates. Going to mark the torso like yours to be able to split the target to get a more precise zero aimpoint point for my front site post. I normally do a six o'clock hold with my 10 inch plates at 200yd's since my eyes aren't the greatest to split that target at that distance LOL. Your head shots at that 400yrd's was pretty dope!!! 4 sure I would lollipop that sucker🤣
@@johnny4713ify yep a 6 o’clock hold on a 200 target is the way with a 36/300 zero. That’s almost the highest point in the flight vertex/ordinate for that zero. The headshots at 400 was pretty funny. That particular barrel isn’t that precise so I’m surprised I hit at all with irons in ahead shot. My shots on the 400 was me trying to keep raising and dropping my hold to see when I would max out my hold and get a miss. I shoulda done a 500 meter iron sights for the marines out there!
I accidentally removed your comment instead of reply. Yeah a 6x6 with iron sights at 500 is insane if thats the case.
@@deltathirtyfour No Worries....6x6 was a typo he said it was 6ft by 6ft target unsupported at 500 or something like that kinda hard too miss lol. I'm sure if he got back into shooting he'll kick my ass!!! Marines and there rifles always a deadly combo for sure👍 Will you be doing some AK zeroing aswell? I have mine set up with a 35 yard zero using a red dot on an ultimak for both my Sam 7 and Vepr FM47 point of aim point of impact out to 220yds at 300 its about 10 inch high pretty much a head shot if aimed center mass with cheap ass tula too hahaha.
I have 50, 55, 62, 68, 75, 77 and 85 grain 556. Should I use the rainbow?
Paint lid removal tool can help with extraction also.
I actually tried that once, and it would not unlodge the round. I think it works some of the time, not all of the time depending on how severe. Rod it almost every time.

@@deltathirtyfour Im wondering if this could be applied to a 300blk gun where one paint marker is supers and another is subs. have you any interest in testing this and or making similar vids that you have on zeroing but for 300blk? including with and without risers.
@@Jerkasaur I think that would 100% work for 300Blk.
Glad I’m not the only one that thinks Tula is junk 🤮. But I have several back up emergency mags with it because it’s better than nothing.
Well said!
You could have used the casualty’s rifle
Bingo, first person to catch that!
Great work on being so detail. You using the eotech on this video. Am running a eotech exps3-0, am zeroing at 36 yards, I know 100 it’s a 1/2 MOA, I would like to know how you got 1/12 MOA using your eotech at 36 yards. Then at 300 meter you doing your adjustment with 1 3/4 I believe. Could you explain how you got those adjustment or you could make a video on how you get adjustment for each yards or meters with red dots or crosshair. I hope this make sense
Kinda hard to understand but the 1/2 at 100 will be 1/4 at 50y and 1/8 at 25y so …. Kinda 1/6 at 36 . At 300y each click will be 1-1/2 each click.
Ok. Thanks.
@@shadowranger9162 hope that answered what you were looking for
Was asking. How did you figure out the clicks for each range on a eotech. I know the standard. But on 36 yard in your video is 1/12 you mention to me is 1/6. Was wondering how you got those numbers
Great video brother 👍 what and where did you pick up that Steal target? I need one like that? Thanks
The c-zone steel targets are from ‘shooting targets 7’ online . I did go to a local fab shop and bought some 1/2 round stock, cut them down, tapederes the end , and welded them on myself so that I could just stick them in the ground. Way fast. And thanks for watching !
@@deltathirtyfour okay thanks brother!
Putin was a nice touch 😂👌
He’d probably laugh since Americans are spoiled with brass :)
No mention of poi shift with the can you had on the gun in the beginning?
My guess is your gun isn’t gassed correctly which is why it won’t cycle the steel.
If you gun won’t reliably cycle wtf is the point?
Honestly I think I had a bad lip on the casing . It actually broke off during extraction, a rare occurrence. As far as the supressor goes, the beginning was just a make believe scenario . My griffin can doesn’t exert any noticeable shift inside 250, and the yhm is minimal inside 100z
What advice do you have for getting access to a good place to shoot?
Some places are private members only but you’ll have to do do a deep search in your state to find one, even sometimes up to a few hours away.
What do you mean by sight radius on an EOTech, are you referring to your backup iron sights. I was not aware that reflex optics had a site radius.
I have a future video where I’ll cover sight radius. In this case it was zeroing in conjunction with a front sight post .
@@deltathirtyfour I've seen a lot of guys on the range who tried to zero off of their front side post with a red dot. It's not a docturnal method I'm not sure where it came from. Some people get really confused by that. You make great videos Thank you.
How the heck do you get a good group past 100m? How does one aim at the same spot after each round without any magnification?
Good group past 100 , good barrel, decent ammo helps, and repetition of your sight picture , point of aim, and experience I guess.
@@deltathirtyfour Thanks for the answer and great content!

Great vid sir!
You should have 100k followers!
I have a magnified scope on my AR 10. Can I zero that scope using diff types of ammo? I'm looking for vids discussing the topic but Can't find any?
I appreciate that ! And you can either mark your exposed turrets , or remove the cap and mark the dials for an additional type you plan to use. Different ammo does some crazy stuff depending on your barrel/velocity/ etc. so it’s best to go out and actually check in person what it does. Not all boxes list the velocity of your barrel length so hands on testing is the best way! Hope that helps.

you know, gotta show the peoples that I bleed just like anyone else. I'm not special :)
There are quite a few terminology errors in this video. "Sight Radius" is not applicable to reddots. Moving the Reddot rearward does not give finer increments (its actually the opposite but the effect is insignificant). Having 2 known zeroes is advantageous but it is not a "Force Multiplier". Truing an optic also isnt as you've described.
Ah, I’ll take the bait. With an absolute co witness optic, like this 512, the sight can be zeroed by using it in conjunction with the front sight post, an actual marksmanship technique. In that case, yes, sight radius is applicable. The optic increment still move the same distance inside the housing, but the point of impact incriments are not the same. Trigonometry. Based on a fulcrum point from the dot location to the barrel length , it does change the increment size during adjustment, maybe not too noticeable at 100y or 200y depending on how much you care but out to distance the effects are noticed much more, especially when truing.
Per definition of force multiplication , giving an ability to accomplish a greater feat (using ammunition that your optic isn’t zeroed to on the fly) and being able to quickly adjust to this alternate ammo , allowing you to accomplish something you otherwise would have not been able to (force multiplier) then yes , it is per definition.
Now, truing, a term not originating in marksmanship, but in relation to radial angles. A lot of things can be trued, spokes on a rim, velocity information in a kestrel for elevation correction, and even surprise, adjustments in an optic to get a center impact in both elevation and windage. You can continue to true the optic adjustments out beyond 300 even to infinity depending on what distance you want the trajectory to impact center. Truing is a mathematic term first and foremost, regardless of how it’s used in shooting terms.
These thing may not seem relevant as far as how serious we should take them which is our own preference. Maybe I should have said truing the impact rather than truing the optic but only one of the two controls the truing process…. The optic. If I have some free time I’ll make a special video just for you .
@@deltathirtyfour Still wrong on sight radius, the only sight radius that matters in your example is the irons. Thus the position of the Eotech between your irons doesnt matter. With the Eotech you can be slightly off-centre with viewing angle and still have the centre dot overlay point of aim with point of impact. In the off-centre viewing angle the front sight post no longer aligns with point of impact. Reddots are optically correcting for viewing angle, iron sights are not. The increments not being the same ONLY applies to iron sights as this is where sight radius matters. Double the sight radius, halve the increments, moving the reddot forward or back doesnt impact the increments because they are angular.
Your usage of Force Multiplier is of achieving the same feat (rounds on target) with a different ammo.
Truing for elevation correction is not done by adjusting the velocity. It is done by inputing additional data points to adapt the model to fit reality.
Truing an optic would be physically aligning it with centre of bore axis or identifying the exact distances BDC marks match your selected round.
Of all we have discussed the only valuable topic to produce a video on would be Sight Radius, I'll give you bonus points if you discuss offset irons and the importance of bore alignment.
@@gavinreid1649 too much to unpack through text. You’re definitely an abstract thinker, I like it! Maybe we’ll chat on Instagram.
What magnifier and mount are you using?
I used a holosun magnifier. Although it has batter eye relief the. The Eotech g33, it has a flaw, sometimes it sits with a slight cant ( which isn’t level during centering of the reticle when viewing) . The don’t honestly recommend unless your on a budget. If your truly interested let me know I may sell it cheap. Message me on Instagram ( deltathirtyfour ) if interested .
This is why I have a CZ bren as my 556 gun and a Galil ace as my 308 they both eat up steel just fine. Not as accurate as green tips or decent 308 though
I was surprised to find that the bren was very accurate out to 500 considering it has a lightweight barrel profile that sure does heat up. I usually don't have too many malfunctions with steel out of this particular BCM but this day I did which is usually from a casing lip that got ripped off rather than a chamber lodging issue. How do you like that Galil Ace?
@@deltathirtyfour I love the Galil Ace! I can get 2ish inch shot groups with it and the 512 which is the best I can get period with any rifle. It's pretty heavy though. I think for a 308 battle rifle the Ace is a great deal. Only draw back about these rifles is spare parts are impossible to come by.

The reason people say its not accurate is due to the penetrator not being able to be completely centered in each round throwing it off ever so slightly.
I have some ptac m855 and usually it groups as good if not better. I wonder if something else was going on that were not seeing and that’s awesome that your taking it serious. Love to hear it. Definitely let me know if you end up getting it out to 300
