For anyone struggling to remove the Oil filter housing buy a good filter wrench. I had bought a cheap one from the auto store and struggled for 3 hours trying to remove the housing. Tried an impact wrench even. The problem was the filter wrench wasn't gripping good enough. I even tried the paper trick. I ended up buying a MotivX tools filter wrench and it came off in under a minute.
Why that's really simple to do for half the cost of having it changed by a technician not to mention you pick and are witness to some good brand oil being put in your engine and not some low grade common oil prob half blend instead of being fully synthetic lol 😂
Corolla oil changes are super fast and easy. You just need the special oil filer wrench. The quick lube shops have a tendency of over tightening and damaging the oil filter housing so I wouldn’t trust them.
0w20 is designed for fuel efficency and emission controls. If you want to actually save your engine from wearing out and if you are not living in far north, 5w30 is better choice. But if you are selling your car after its 5 y.o. you may use 0w20.
@@falahaljaf7452 They do not care about your engine health after your guarantee runs out. If you plan to drive your car longer than 300.000 km you should consider using 5w30. Many Turkish Toyota services are using 5w30 and there are many toyota's around 700.000 km without any repair to the engine.
The filter is like really stuck in there I’m guessing the mechanic did it on purpose u know any alternative to taking it out? Plz answer I got work in 20 hours
If you have the tool for the filter housing use a longer ratchet. It will give you more leverage. You can try tapping the ratchet with your hand or a hammer. Good luck!!
@@duquesautomotive6161 okay there’s an autozone nearby but I’ll wait till they open and buy a longer ratchet I think I may buy a filter housing just in case I brake it. Man I hate cars good thing we have citizens like you passing on your wisdom to stupid kids like me.

I know what you're talking about, thankfully I don't think these car has a cover that obstructs the oil pan like some newer cars do. Typically I think it's European cars that obstruct it, and they expect you to suck out the oil through the top
Yes it calls for 0-20 weight but some people like to do 5-30 because of how high the mileage is depending on I mean if it's getting close to 200 thousand miles 530 weight is fine because engine wear
Okay I understand I just keep using what is recommended for the car buy Toyota I have 190000 on a 2010 I use mobile 1 again great video thanks for sharing ☮️

You can find them on Amazon or go to your local Toyota dealer. Make sure to let them know what type of car you have because Toyota has 2 sizes for their filter wrenches.
Excellent video! It's great that you added the steps to reset the maintenance light.

This engine calls for 0w-20 oil not 5w-30 always use what the manual says and don’t use anything else.
don’t even need the manual the cap where you put the oil in literally says 5w-20 and 0w-20
the manual shows both, depending on the degrees outside can use either or
The car wouldn’t be happy at all with 0w-20 here in Aus it’s the same with coolant we have no need for antifreeze here

Link for the oil filter tool?
Did you need to jack the car up first?
Damn at this point I’m waiting until a coupon shows up and taking it to the dealership to do it 😂😂

Can I asked, what are the names of tools you used on this video?
Excellent 👍
Awesome Job!!
you are totaly great
Most of the Mobil 1 engine oil comes in 4.7 liters, is it okay to pour everything into the Toyota Corolla 2013 engine?
Co-ask>
Did you pour all the oil?
I can use 5w30 in summer corolla s 2013?
No, under no circumstances use any other oil other than of the shelf good quality 0w-20.
Why did you use 5W-30 oil? These cars usually call for 0W-20 oil.
They even write 0w20 on oil cap !! So I am stick with what they say.

You can buy a filter tool of Amazon. That way you will always have it and can do your own oil changes. Just a suggestion. DOGE🚀🚀
When you guys drain the engine oil, do you guys take off one of the plastic panels that covers the underside of the car? Toyota Corolla S 2012 here.
I have never removed any panels.

@duquesautomotive6161 thanks wanna change soon by myself, what's the right oil for Toyota corolla professional 1.3 2011 model??
When you reset engine maintenance light, how many kilometers/miles before will activate?
I believe its 5,000 miles.
I believe you start seeing it flash on startup when you’re around 4500 miles
What if I put the full 5 quarts of oil into it?
Check the dipstick, then unscrew drain plug till oil comes out and then recheck.
It would be as bad or worse than having not enough oil. Leave in the jug 0.6 quarts, 1mm or 2 above the 0.5 quart of the jug.
Gee my 2010 says use 0 20 oil I don’t understand why you are using a high grade of oil thank for sharing
use oil that is listed in the manual or on the cap if it is original cap.
Older high mileage cars can use the 5w 30
5w30 is incorrect oil 0w20 or 5w20 if ow 20 is not aval should be used
So nice to U
How many cans of oil?
you a fuckin 🐐 for that maintenance light reser
This filter has a clip you have to undo to turn the filter.
What's lifting the car, bro
How many litres for this engine is 1.6?
This engine is 1.8L
Wait.. Why 5w-30 isn't supposed to be 0w-20
Ayeee duquess!
You’ll never change my oil or touch my car
