This was a great video! I followed every step. The only issue I had was the chuck neck would fit between the filter case and the car. So i grinded the chuck down and it slid right down. Thank you for the video!
Be careful with removing that old o-ring. In fact the official instructions from Toyota on the box for the OEM Toyota filter tell us not to use tools when removing the old o-ring. ua-cam.com/video/a0D_vGFgLD8/v-deo.html Also your oil filter cap seems much tighter than it should be. The torque spec is only 18 ft.lbs or 25 Newton Meters. It's embossed right on the oil filter cap. I believe the drain plug on the oil pan is 27 ft.lbs. So 18 ft.lbs. is one third less than the oil plug. Also, if your car doesn't consume oil then you don't need high mileage oil regardless of what the odometer says.
It was the only 0w-20 oil we could find. Plus this car has over 80,000 miles and the oil jug said that if you have over 75,000 miles then you should use high mileage oil. Thank you for your concern though.
Damn bro. Things for the tips. My 2011 Toyota Corolla LE that I just got needs an oil change. I was going to get the mobil 1 extended performance oil 0w-20 and oil filter (the premium one). Would you recommend something else?
@@olopatadine1052 In my case, I used high mileage oil because it was the only oil we could find in the store because the store was running out of 0W20 oil. Also my Corolla had over 80,000 miles at the time (it has over 100k miles on it now). If you have 75000 miles or more then I would use high mileage oil. If not then use either conventional or synthetic 0W20 oil.
Thanks so much for the detailed and informative video!! Going to change the oil for the first time on my Corolla!
Thank you ! It was very helpful !
