Forever for Now is the sixth studio album by Canadian rock band April Wine, released in 1977. The album featured a variety of genres including: country and western, Latin, Caribbean, blues, easy listening, and rock.
RIP Myles! Thanks for your beautiful voice! 🇨🇦🌹🕊️🕊️
Sir Wilfrid Laurier High School Student London Ontario Council in 1971 blew the whole student fund to have them play at a school dance. That will never happen again. God I wish I was 16 and again and enjoying those wonderful times. The whole school staff was there to celebrate. What a time we had.
What a wonderful comment. This song haunts me also.
A ballad from the Best, April Wine will live on forever!
I am 59 years old and first heard this at the Saint John NB exhibition as it travelled between cities. I loved it. Have never stopped loving it. Thanks April Wine.... Rest in Peace Myles
Sempre nei nostri cuori myles gooldwin
I was born and raised in the Maritimes and always proud that this great band formed there.
You've really got something to be proud of in April Wine. Great band
yes they came from Waverly and formed in Halifax in 1969 then moved to Montreal circa 1970-71.
I never knew they are Canadian!
I really like this song! Excellent! It hits home.
And having Richard Lanthier from Montréal was amazing. 😅
What a great band,pure talent.Love his voice
Had they of been American, they would be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Canada does not do enough to promote their own. Fantastic band!
I think you're wrong
@@terrymoser47 they're not
Totally agree
Canada had alot of good bands ,what surprised me Steppenwolf was Canadian
they were inducted in 2010..
DAMNED FINE CANADIAN BAND !!!!!!!
Play I Like to Rock
Appreciate you so much ❤❤
This song still gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. What a fabulous song.
This takes me back to the love of my life. Thanks Myles...
they wrote some of the best ballads
One of the hardest working bands ever, these guys were always on tour for as long as I can remember.
grade 8 first dance with the guy i had a serious crush on married him in 1990 have three children and are still together we listen to aprile wine all the time so many good memorries
see,..good girl!!,..you DID IT !!
Thats just awesome❤❤
That's how most people wish it could be so cherish it!
And THAT'S why "you bother to try"....;)
amazing
My first love was Debbie Bonner. I would have done anything for this girl but she messed me around so much and when this song was played she used it to make me feel bad. Sad in the early 70's. She opened my eyes so i found a wonderful girl named Jackie and we are together 45 years later.
and debbie is prob a toothless blob now lol
I remember hearing I wish I'd drop dead a decade back and never remembered that part before, it's not in another version by aw
Debbie sucks. You thrived in the end. Erase her name from your mind my guy.
@@lisa-bw9je The album version was longer. You heard either the Greatest Hits version or the single version.
Waving from the Maritimes. Love you April Wine. You made me fall in love with you in 1976, Lady Beaverbrook Arena.
Recently learned of the passing of Myles.
The news took me back many years.
April Wine's huge ability to create beautiful ballads. "You won't dance with me" and turn to the amazing Rock Anthem "Roller".
Thank you for the music. RIP Myles.
From the crash of hard rock thunder to ballads, April Wine will always be one of the greats!

One of the best Canadian rock bands of all time! these guys paved the way for so many great bands to follow I've seen them a few times the first time I just turned 16 WOW talk about a Canadian right of passage " O WHAT A NIGHT" I think they had 15 records and I can't think of ONE I don't like! I've seen about 600 hundred concerts in my time and I can't remember being so excited to see a band, and they are coming here in sept 2018! playing an outdoor venue! It has been 37 years guys since I saw them for the first time , I can't wait to relive my youth and I'm bring my 16-year-old daughter who has never known a world without these Great Canadian bands like Triumph, Trooper, Loverboy, Journey, Chilliwack, Rush, B.T.O, Blue Rodeo, Big Suger,54-40, Steppen Wolf,Guess Who,Toronto, Headpins, Prism, Sweeney Todd, Queen City, Max Webster, Haywire, Streetheart, Red Rider, D O A, Teenage Head, White Snake , Billy Talent, Harlequin and the Band to name a few off the top of my head and there are so many more. 20+ years later this song is one of my favourites.
Gorgeous.
40+ years for me ;)
me too the 70's was a great decade to be growing up
My favourite song of the April Wine classics!🎶❤️
A band that can perform a song as beautifully as this and also can belt out Crash and Burn is a force to be reckoned with! April Wine will always be one of the greats in my book!
Rollerskating under the starry strobe lights 🥰❤️💫
GREAT Canadian band. Great memories.
Nov 12, 2020!🤘🏽🎸 listened to Myles Goodwin and April Wine growing up in southwestern Manitoba Canada with my rockabilly guitarist father.. grade eight grad ‘84 Saskatoon College Park Collegiate and these two older senior females from the high school grabbed me to dance to this song ❤️ didn’t get their names but I had fun (story of my life🤦🏽♂️).. still playing guitar and listening to April Wine and Canadian Classic Rock - the soundtrack of my life...
Awesome, I went to Mount Royal Collegiate in Saskatoon. What a small world. Take care and keep lovin good tunes.
I work from home. Taking a break and stumbled on to some old April Wine tunes. Loved them as a child but forgotten how many great songs the did in early 70s and into the 80s.
Incredible Canadian band! So good at ballads, rock, harmonies -- they had it all. My very first concert as a teen in Vancouver was April Wine at the Coliseum. I still love them just as much as back in the mid-70s. Rock on, Myles!
They captured all the styles and made a few of their own. Wonderfully talented bunch.
last year of high school...school dances, etc...
every time i hear any song by april wine it brings me back to my high school years
thank you april wine !!!!
This is a “Masterpiece”
Wow, i can't remember how many girls in school,i danced with in Grades 7-8, it's fun to listen now. At the time in grade 7 with were so scared. LMFAO. Good tunes do this, take you back. Love it. Seen them(April Wine), i can't even count. Such a beautiful song!
My girlfriend me and a friend were waiting to go to their concert , we were a little early so we went around back of the arena to smoke some pot , 1982 . We were watching these guy's playing tag football so in our cocky teenager mind's thought we would sit in the bleacher's and smoke our pot right there and watch . When 2 of the guy's came over to us and said we know your here to see April Wine but you should know that we are off duty fireman and police officer's and maybe you should go somewhere else to smoke your joint's . They looked the part all brush cuts no long haired hippies anywhere except us 3. And now we in Canada are legal to smoke and own pot , grow it , have up to 1 once on us. Me and my " girlfriend " 40 year's are still together and my friend lives on the other side of town and get together quite often . Then there's the time we went to our first 3D movie but that's another story . Got to have a rest now , typing with one finger is exhausting . Peace and Love .
Aww, those officials saw you was a couple a good kids by gosh. Thank you for the wonderful comment.
@@YuriBurgundy Thank you , it was a great concert one of the highlights was when they brought out their famous chrome canon that thing was loud especially in a small arena.
Beautiful bit of songwriting here...these guys could rock-out, but in the next breath put together a gem like this. Goodwyn’s voice had an adolescent quality, but was so expressive - awesome band ! 👍
Come on guys you know this song sucks
What a bassline. Outstanding.
very true outstanding melody
pure classic
Thank you Canada!
I was in a 10 year long distance relationship with someone. In those 10 years I began to hope, wish, and want touch more and more. We never met once in those 10 years. Yet we spent hours everyday talking and engaging one another. There was closeness, and yet there was not
As time went on, I wanted physical contact. I wanted touch. I wanted intimacy.
When I brought it up, this person would say things like: "Why do you want to ruin our friendship?"
I felt locked out of intimacy with this person, and in my life.
This song rings true a deep resonance for me- the desire for intimacy, touch, connection- and the other person keeping you at bay, holding you off, putting up walls, & keeping a distance.
I cried many times over this person, over the idea of never being able to get that with them. Sometimes this person would even act like it was me- like I was the one that was wrong here.
The only thing wrong was me keeping up hope for a decade that this person could change or WOULD open up. They never did open up, we no longer speak.
Great harmonies, great solos.
Love this song! Married my school boyfriend too...almost 50 yr. Ago but feel 16!
We had these guys at the Friday night dance at Almaguin Highlands Secondary School at least 4 or 5 times in 70, 71. They were excellent every time
Amazing band. So underrated
LOVE APRIL WINE Best to Miles , Gerry and the rest of you guys! .....sweet
always were great at writing beautiful ballads,,
Great Canadian band
This sure brings me back to the day when life was so easy, and the guy got away!!
thanks to Unidisc for posting this classic tune.
Great Canadian band.fenelon falls Ontario
Sounds so 50's. Always liked this tune. Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me but, this sounds a little different to the version I know...
This is the LP version. It has an extra verse.
+The Watcher A lot of songs were cut down to under 4 minutes back in the day for radio play. Just stopped here to state that April Wine was one of the greatest Canadian bands ever.
+Tracey K Yeah I know this song, but the other version. It reminds me of Neil Sedaka for some reason and his career begain in the 50's.
+sjhall06 Oh, never thought of Sedaka! Don't know many songs of his. But for me, Paul Anka was one that came to mind.
Sometimes your brain remembers songs different due to memories installed from social atmosphere at time
This song would have been perfect in a movie like Grease. This album is mostly a different sound for April Wine as it was originally supposed to be a Myles Goodwyn solo album but the record company wanted it released under the April Wine name instead
Best band ! Akways love April Wine!
2020, still rockin it April Wine
That’s a fabulous song
This song will go down as a classic totaly amazing.
my first ' break up song' 1974, i cant remember her name or what she looked like but Fok i miss her
Omg. My heart breaking all over again.
Hmmm ... has the same effect as it did back then , just a lovely tune
R I P Myles Goodwyn!! One of the best!!
This is so 70s 👍
Classic Baby 🍷💯💯, don't get a lot of reactions to this , or Little River Band Reminiscing. Canadian Band 💯💯🍷 April Wine.

Memories
I love this song! I found out my girl was holding hands with another guy and I almost lost my mind in 1977. Almost.
Then I met another girl, who made me forget about that first girl.
Oh, yeah. O o o h h yeah.
I love this song and this group. :) Thank you for sharing!
I may said this before but they remind me of the Everley Brothers

Get this - I'm a 56 year old bass player got a lady has the hair on my arms standing up. This tune goes well with that....
Well I didnt actually have her yet only been semi chasing her for 38 years .
