Stand Back is the fourth studio album by Canadian rock band April Wine, released in 1975.
The 75 people who disliked this song has no taste in good music. Real music
I TOTALLY agree!!
I AM CANADIAN 🇨🇦
LOVE THESE GUYS 💖🎸🎶🥁
Great childhood memories 💗
Let me serenade you :p
L Alba; Though I'm from Detroit, MI, I have the utmost respect 4 Canadian musicians. When the pandemic clears itself, let's party down in Windsor (just u & me, babe).
indeed from maritimes
Goddo was cool as well
Such an awesome killer album, my top 5. Rest easy Myles. Respect.
This is how ROCK sounded back in the day, & we hit that dance floor running. The signature vocals of MYLES GOODWYN, April Wine & SONGS like this made them the CANADIAN cream of the crop 💖
well said!
still is
Sorry to hear Myles passed. This is one of my favourite songs. Glad i got to see them live twice. Great Shows!
I saw them twice, too. The last time in Mississauga, I was shocked when he talked about this song a little bit embarrassed by how "pop" it was. If only he knew how many of us were in school and this song was the soundtrack to our very first loves.
A CLASSIC Canadian band! ❤️🇨🇦
if you remember this song..yes...you are Canadian and old...but ,,omg what a time of life......
F'n Eh!
Americans have loved April Wine, as much as you Canuks! lol OMG! You are right!
Take Me Home, is my favorite.
mets-en snifff quelle belle époque.
yvon basque I'm Michigan and April Wine was a big part of my youth.
i so agree!!!
One of Canads very best!!! And they're masters of the key change..a fading art in todays music.
you got it right
one of the best bands to come out of Canada ... period
if you disagree then you dont know music
April Wine is my favorite Canadian band. So underrated. I'm lucky to have seen them live a number of years ago on Canada Day!
in surrey
I saw them in Barrie ontario a long time ago. They sound pretty much the same live as in recordings. I will never forget that night..
Underr8d? B.F.U. (Big Fuckin' Underst8ment). April Wine INVENTED THRASH METAL (courtesy of 1981's "Crash & Burn").
Probably my favourite April Wine song. Love it!
yea this brings back days gone by great song
Roller
R.I.P. STEVE LANG Canada has lost a great guitarist and heaven has gained an amazing musician
Heaven's full. Bring him back, we're short.
I'll even pay the air fare
RIP not just Steve but Myles as well. Maple Eyes medley ends with this.
And you know she can feel it, cause that's the way she likes to fly .............Thank you, April Wine, for making this girl feel like she can fly.
His singing voice is so irreplaceable to me! What memories of my youth and first love when I first heard this song.
Me 2
I wish I had a first love
Jesus, all these years and i find you on here, it's been a long time erica I know but I honestly think I have grown up and would love a second chance, I'll cherish you like no other🥰
Agree he’s got that epic rock voice like geddy lee or Robert plant.
@@L3GHO5T Shit; Myles Goodwyn BLOWS AWAY Lee & Plant COMBINED!!!!! Even Ian Thomas & Gil Moore (Triumph) r on par w/Goodwyn .
April Wine has so many great songs but somehow this elfy little bubblegum tune is my favourite.
...Okay
And mine. ❤
You can't call rock music "bubblegum"
@@jonsmith6311 Listen to Heart songs from mid to late 80s like "Never","You aint so tough" or Roxette songs.
Bubblegum songs are catchy
His voice is remarkably powerful and clear on this track. What an awesome voice and awesome song.
This is the most beautiful song I've ever heard.
April Wine plus Saga, Colin James, Kim Mitchell, Sass Jordan, Red Rider, Chilliwack, Prism, Trooper, Honeymoon Suite, Bryan Adams, Rush, Triumph, Neil Young.....and more.....Canada Fuckin Rocks
There's so much talent from the Great White North for sure. Cheers from the U.S.!
you forgot to say justin bieber lmao. im kidding
Tory Ha!!
i hope so
and gordon lightfoot to
I love this song. April Wine will always be my fav Canadian band. I like the Stampeders, BTO, The Guess Who to name three others but April Wine will always be number one with me.
What about Rush, Triumph & Loverboy.
RIP Miles Goodwin!
This is what music was about. This band is one that the music never dies. LONG LIVE THE ROCK!!!!
just can't get enough April wine
for ever
When did we start talking about Dwayne Johnson?
@@mikepiche39 Likewise here. BTW, they r the PIONEERS OF THRASH METAL (courtesy of "Crash & Burn").
Love April Wine and I am very proud to be a Canadian like them. 🇨🇦🎶😃💞
This is my wife and my theme song. God bless April Wine.
So many memories......remember April Wine was one of my first concerts when I was a kid. It was April Wine and Harlequin and they blew my mind. April Wine, so under-rated. Ahhhhhh, those were the times of quality music. Just love the 70's rock (from progressive - i.e. Genesis/Yes to rock/pop like Elton John, April Wine, BTO, The Guess Who, etc etc..... Miss those days....
To hear this music at 60 brings me back to being in my late teens and the good times we had! Can't be repeated unfortunately. .......
I've been with these guys since the beginning. Of all of the incredible bands I grew up with, April Wine is in my top 3, and #1 switches from day to day. I love this band!!!!
My all time favorite song by April Wine
Ditto!!
+Bryce Tsukishima Me too!
Same. April Wine has so many great songs but somehow this elfy little bubblegum tune is my favourite.
Great song. I saw them in 2018 and they put on a damn good show.
Mine too!!
This is when I’m glad to be from Canada lol 🔥🔥💯
Met the band at the seattle airport in 1979.Flew with them to Billings Mt. Saw the show and got to go backstage to hang out with them after their show. Great guys!
This song makes me melt.
+Mary Adams All real nice guys
I had the privilege of jamming with April wine when I was in university in 1998......great times ⏲ 🙃
Most underrated band ever
Not quite sure why Myles doesn't have his face on Canadian money. The man is a genius, the absolute heart of Canadian music.
This is one of my top fall songs. It's like a ritual to play this as the temperature cools and the leaves change colors.
For me it’s a summer song lol 😂
RIP Myles. Thanks for the great music.
it's not just about being the best guitar or bass player or drummer. Its about being a brilliant songwriter and having a decent singer.Thats April wine has proven to be wow so many great songs from this band.
Wow I had no idea April Wine was Canadian. I always hear them, Rush and Chilliwack on the radio and had no idea they were all Canadian. I'm so used to hearing American songs I just assume they're also American. Makes me love them even more now!!
Thanks, we have a few good bands up here. April Wine, Chilliwack, The Guess Who, Toronto and The Stampeders are my personal faves
Also to add “Bryan Adams”
Vincent the Mortician and the tragically hip
Lover boy, Bare naked ladies , Neal Young, platinum blonde, Bryan Adam's Canadian's rock
Neil Young too...but fuck him and his liberalistic elitism.
The absolute heartbeat album of my mid teens. So many good memories. Thank you!
I hadn't heard of this band until I moved from the U.K to Canada. And as a fan of Thrash metal and Hardcore Punk it really isn't my thing at all. But the songs are so catchy it's impossible not to like em. My guilty pleasure!
Growing up in Montreal in early 70s, where April Wine was based these guys were like The Beatles for me. My 2 brothers, cousin and few neighbourhood friends had a Fat Albert like junkyard band (we were horrible) and we sang a long to many of April Wine's early hits. I had forgotten how many memorable and great sing-a-long songs they did until falling down the UA-cam rabbit hole. Brings back great memories of my youth.
RIP Myles Goodwyn (June 23, 1948 - December 3, 2023), aged 75
You will be remembered as a legend.
Damnn what a great tune 🎉🎉🎉🎉
The most wonderful song of all time, not only tonite. Who agrees?
Most beautiful song for sure brutha
Not even one of their best songs.
I agree 👍 💯
Another great Song by such an amazingly talented Band. Thanks for sharing!
Love April wine!! Best Canadian rock bands to come out of Canada!!
This is an awesome song, it just needs a bit more...wait for it....COWBELL! RIP Myles!
My first concert was April Wine at the Montreal Forum. They were very good and also very LOUD!
They are loud as fuck live, but it’s awesome.
Thee most underrated Canadian band
GREAT BAND GREAT SONGS

You wrote and sang a great deeply underappreciated song here sir

I live in Vermont on the Quebec Border grew up on April Wine! The Best !!!
rip Myles. On the Mt. Rushmore of Canadian rock, he's right up there & will always be. Hail hail rock n roll...
I remember this song from grade 8 and reading The Outsiders for english class. Definitely no mistaking this is April Wine👍
April Wine really rocks Canada.
Oh yeah brother.
April Wine & Nazareth Cleveland about 81, Rocked!
I have been a big fan of these guys since day one. I was born and raised near Myles Goodwin's hometown in N.B. Canada.
65 and introducing this music 🎶 for her. Just like dad she knows talent when she hears this. Thank you for great memories. Cheers!
I remember listening to there music when I was 5 years old. Back in the 1970s. Because of my older brother and sisters. Born and raised in San Antonio Texas. This past Father's day I turned 50 years old
I was born in 05 in Canada grew up on this music 🇨🇦
Great song. RIP Myles thanks for all you gave us. God speed
Came here to listen to my fav April Wine song and remember Myles Goodwyn, AW was a summer staple in arenas across Canada 🇨🇦 wish I had kept all my ticket stubs from the many times I saw them at Sudbury arena. I live in Toronto now and have been to many stadium shows, but none compare to the excitement of those $5 shows of my youth, RIP Myles 💔
Love me some April Wine cowbell!!! Need more cowbell baby
Trying to pick my favourite April Wine song to share with a British friend...been deliberating for hours!
what a gorgeous song thank you so much @aprilwine
Just saw these guys in concert. They rocked the house. Of course this awesome song was saved for near the end. The only classic they didn't play was I Rock Myself To Sleep
I'm a 92' baby , grew up listening to these guys. Still hits just as good! ❤
I seen April Wine twice!! I'm Canadian! Best band ever!!
You got me beat, I saw them once, I believe it was 1978
Ah yes, Hollywood has nothing on Nova Scotia.
Completely agreed. Nova Scotia lives in REALITY; Hollywood (CA & FL) lives in FANTASY!!!!! Though I'm American-born (from Detroit, MI), Canada's values r so much more identical 2 mine that it's so surreal. I LUV IT NVRTHLSS!!!!!! THANK GOD THAT CANADA HAS THE BEST FUCKIN' MUSICIANS 2 EVER GRACE OUR FUCKIN' PLANET CALLED "EARTH"!!!!! A.W. & Ian Thomas carry the "torch" on that matter.
What does this mean?
@@GNashG it’s a Canadian thing
What a classic . So timeless and the lyrics are brilliant cheers .
Great classic Canadian rockin' tune....Thank you April Wine...
April Wine was my first concert I ever saw. ❤
And it all started way down here in Nova Scotia. Proud of them we all are.
Maple Leaf Gardens Rush and April Wine. Rush's - Farewell to Kings Tour. Oh the memories 18 years old. Miss the 70's.
the sound of my childhood xx xx
We don't get music this good anywhere besides iTunes. What a dang shame.
amazing, timeless song
R.I.P. Myles Goodwin, Sad he had diabetes for a while, hence he retired from touring
this year. Farewell to a Canadian Rock Legend who gave us great joy after 5 and a half decades,
Thanks for the memories.😢🎸🎤
They used to play at my hhighschool dances. THAT was an era.
im Canadian and can't get enough of April wine
what a good pop song still holds up
First band i ever heard in concert. 1979 Billings Metra. Backup band for Foreigner. Still remember that revolving red light and drummer Jerry Mercer. Strange smoke in the air. Got to see them many years later in a small club and again at a festival the week after i retired. Time flies!
Used to crank this up on my dad's 74 Ford custom 500. Good times
The most awesome band ever
RIp Mr Goodwyn. A Canadian legend many have forgotten about.
I loved April Wine when I saw them in Wpg, @ the Arena. Great show!!
when i was younger did not think much about this group but as i have gotten older have really liked them they have great songs
I come from a world were the light is dim and the people are not so jive.
If you lived in cape breton in the 70s these guys made your summer playing in the old sydney forum year after year it was amazing0
Perfect !
Excellent tune👍
I would put this song in the top 10 of all time in pop/hard rock 🎸
great song, memories. sounds like cowbell!!
best album ever
Wonderful song!!!!!
aahh, u hear cowbell, its gotta be the seventies..rip myles..this song has such a sweet innocent vibe to it, like memories of your high school sweetheart, just beautiful..
nova scotia had alot of talent and still does
The Headpins
Shawn Mackinnon they suck big time.
Shawn Mackinnon your kidding right? Nova Scotia has the least educated, talentless idiots per capita in the western world lady. They're know as lazy ei drawing bums.
Kenny Omega stop trolling and why don't you go enjoy the amazing place you live in then. Also you should learn to spell before you insult other people and call them uneducated. I'm trying to enjoy my April Wine without your crap. Bye! ✌
Kenny Omega ass~muncher
