I had the chance to see them live back in the '90, when they played in SLC Utah. I don't know if it was still the original lineup. It was just a fantastic show. And they played "Drive" my first song heard on german radio back in the '80, when I didn't know much about the band. I thought I was a typical one hit wonder, but hell no. They have an awesome catalogue of brilliant hits with a blend of New Wave Post punk style. This era won't come back again.

I knew Benny in the pre-CARS days and taped a few gigs on Cleveland's West side, I think the band was called 'Velvet Crosswalk' then. As a result of a most unlikely series of events, Benny somehow learned about an incident in my life which inspired the second verse in 'Moving In Stereo'. Benny was one of those people who, when you meet them, you just know they are going to be a Star someday, and Stars which burn twice as bright, burn half as long. Driving my Toyota mini truck with my girl by my side in sunny southern California & let's not forget Del Taco & The Indio Rajahs class of 82. A salute to a time gone by.
He went to college with me, he was a year ahead. The guitarist from my band (the brother of Foreigner’s singer, Lou Gramm) replaced Elliott in the local band he left to move up to Boston.
I read that he was a natural right hander, but their manager wanted them to look like the Beatles on stage. So Elliott had to become a leftie. A remarkable feat if true.

I miss those days when music was music. These guys were awesome in concert, and they put on a hell of a show. I sure miss this time in my young life.
I was fortunate enough to meet Benjamin Orr at a nightclub after a show in Atlanta back in the late 80's. What a cool guy. I sure miss those days.
A couple of things: "It's All i Can Do" guitar solo? Absolutely KILLER. "Magic" bass line during guitar solo? AWESOME. Entire album? CLASSIC!!!
"Its All I Can Do"....Benjamin Orr's voice is KILLER!!
Tragically under rated Ben and Elliot were.
Ahh, now THIS is a greatest hits album. So rare to find one where every song deserves to be on the album.

Check out their version of Everyday by Buddy Holly. It’s outstanding.
