Lyrics:
Baby we can talk all night
But that ain't getting us nowhere
I told you everything I possibly can
There's nothing left inside of here
And maybe you can cry all night
But that'll never change the way I feel
The snow is really piling up outside
I wish you wouldn't make me leave here
I poured it on and I poured it out
I tried to show you just how much I care
I'm tired of words and I'm too hoarse to shout
But you've been cold to me so long
I'm crying icicles instead of tears

I’m watching this on Valentine’s Day , it’s so sad and I’m so sorry for your loss , this song reflects how my partner feels about me we get on and live together ,but she doesn’t love me she’s still in love with an old flame that turned his back on her many years ago . Hang on to your memories.

No singer put more emotion into a song than Meatloaf. By far one of the most underrated and under appreciated artists ever.

There's a great reason to watch "Meatloaf Unplugged". In this rock studio session you see exactly why MR. LOAF was one of the greatest singers the world has ever witnessed....

The first memory I have of my dad rocking out was to Meat Loaf I knew every word to the Bat out of Hell album when I was four. It’s still a favourite today. On this day a year ago, I said goodbye to my dad for the last time, he died a few hours later in the early morning hours of the 22nd. This feels full circle to me. RIP Meat Loaf & RIP Dad

One of the best songs ever written. Meat is much underrated.
Musically, its a very complex song. I agree with you!
Yes
No disrespect seeing as how he just passed away but regarding your comment, Meatloaf was not a songwriter. This classic and others from this album were written by Jim Steinman
@@80steen44
no matter who wrote it MeatLoaf made it famous.
@@e-racer4673 Of course and I'm the first to give credit for interpreters of the lyrics on covers or songs written for them. Lots of songs are made better because of the singer
I'm 67 and always loved meatloaf back in the day and still today. Can't figure why I never went and saw him live back in my day.
Because we just took him for granted. He was just always there kind of like a big brother.
Same here. A lot of arty I haven’t seen I wish I had.
The whole world owes a debt to Jim Steinman's songwriting. Without it, we would've been denied the full extant of Meat Loaf's vocal powers.
Yep
I heard someone on the news today describe his voice as “operatic”. Great description. Thanks for all the great music Meatloaf. You have left your mark on the music world.
His voice was so captivating and his range was outstanding.
If you listen to his deep tracks they’ll blow you away 🎶🎤
Weird, i never considered it operatic. It's much too natural
The memories I hold closest, attending your amazing concert at the Medina ballroom in Minnesota. I will never forget your performance, as you greeted your fans... RIP to an amazing music mentor- fly high.
.. That's cool but meat loaf always hated it when his name was spelled as one word!..jus sayin because the food meatloaf is spelled that way that's probably why he would have a problem with it !...

I find as I am getting older the musical myopia of my youth is rapidly diminishing and my mind sees music for what it is ... a gift. Thanks Meatloaf and Mr Steinman for taking me back to places that only music can take you back to ... magical memories with family and old friends. Great, truly great song ...

I totally agree with every word you said.
This man gave it his ALL in every song he sung and is sadly so underrated its a crime.

Nah everybody knows Meat ( Marvin Aday) was an icon. He was an extremely talented artist. He had commercial success for decades. This song was from the late 70s and he was on MTV with his bat out of hell video in the 90s. It’s a shame his last years were spent in chronic pain. He is missed.

No singer put more emotion into a song than Meatloaf. RIP
he was such a great performer. an old school stage man, as was steinman, they brought that to rock n roll. listening to interviews recently he's saying things like ' he became the song'. so true! him and steinman had a real kinship in Jim's music, no one could sing it like meatloaf

So glad I got to see you perform and got your autograph. Bat out of Hell will always be the best album, hands down. We love you, Meat. Rest in Paradise by the dashboard light. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Rocked with him at Big Mac in Denver, forever remembered thx loaf 💕
This song is so brutally honest. It touches a deep place from so many years ago so perfectly. This is lyrical and musical mastery when you're transported so effortlessly. Meatloaf and Steinman were a perfect match and so many generations are grateful for the memories.
It hurts
That one line "There's only one girl that I will ever love and that was so many years ago" haunts me every day!.

That’s right
I'm listening to this on a snowy night in Charlotte 🌨
As he said don't be sad RIP
My father always had Meatloaf playing. Therefore I grew up with these songs of his. And they became a part of my life. My father had Heaven Can Wait played at his funeral. All of Meats songs stir childhood emotions. Now my kids appreciate Meatloaf and enjoy his music through me. From generations down. Music does this in families.
I will miss Meatloaf. It’s pretty sad 😢
Same here. My mom is no longer living and I will always have this kind of music to think of her.
Definitely! I grew up listening to all of his ballads and even his more fun songs before I even understood the content and context. My mom was a major fan, and my dad was fond. I'm getting nostalgic, remembering listening to his music (loudly) through my parents' stereo and even in the car.
i hear you.. xo
I hurt because you're gone, now. This song took me back to 1976. I hope you're saved,
Jim & Meat.....what a combination. I am 62 years old next weekend & their music still means as much to me these days as it did when I was a teenager. Thank you for the memories.

Beautiful. I feel this. The music we carry in our hearts from decade to decade from either happy memories or emotional ones transcends us back to those days with the push of Play. There are a few fantastic artists whos delivery helps you feel their music as well as hear it. Meatloaf is one of them. 💜
That’s such a beautiful story
RIP big guy, the 70's were so much fun.
Such a terrible loss. Grew up with those lyrics. Meat Loaf 4 ever.
I'm so devastated at Marvin's death. He was born to be an entertainer; every song he sang, he put his heart into it. You were too good for this cruel world, darling. Rest in love!
dude, every word, so true, he really was that amazing
RIP 🪦 Mr. Loaf 🥲
His name was Michael, not Marvin.
He legally changed his name from Marvin to Michael in 1984, so he'd probably prefer to be called Michael.
This song was always my late brothers Lee's favorite song but, unfortunately my brother died in 1978 and whenever I hear this song, it always takes me on a trip back in time and of course, I always break down and cry! 🙏
Sorry about your brother. Those days were so amazing with unbelievable music. So glad that was my era to grow up in.
