Playing on this for a while gets confusing on guitar. Playing it WHILE SINGING is IMPOSSIBLE for me. Been playing since 96 or 97 and I cannot get my brain to do it. Dave is crazy talented.
Keep at it. I think the trick is to keep that strum hand going, Dave hardly ever stops strumming. It help keeps timing, then focus on which strings to apply pressure to. It's about finding that right balance of what strings you want to let ring and which ones you want to mute.
This song has really become a monster over the years. I knew it was a great song though when I 1st saw Dave playing at solo it shows like the original intention of the song but the rest of the band has caught up over the years. Now it could be a set highlight for me.
That 9/8 drum beat is a monster! Carter is a master drummer.

The verses aren’t bad but the chorus is what I struggle with when singing.

You gotta feel the switch of timing going to 9 beats instead of 4.
Just keep at it. I’ve only been playing guitar for 3 years but I’m finally able to fully cover the song. Just takes an insane amount of dedication.
I had this tune in my head since April Fools Day this year!!!
Some complex druming on this one.. Freakin love carter
Carter is SICK!!!!!!! Damn.
Fantastic

amazing as always!
Imposible
They NEVER play this
I've managed to catch this like 3 or 4 times out of the 20 shows I've been to it really is a great song
Brilliant music. Awful vocals in the chorus.
Listen again. Quality isn't great but Dave is on point. You can tell his voice is hoarse probably from long touring but he's still getting it done
