If you listen and watch carefully, this was an unplanned success. Dave appeared to cut the real outro two measures short, hence why he stopped playing, and so Tim kept playing his riff instead. This was actually “Tim’s fault” if there was any. Whenever you see Stefan move in to watch Carter you can tell they are in unchartered territory and in their jam circle for Carter to direct traffic. Regardless, they pulled it off and made some Fool to a think history!
i remember hearing them play this song every year from the time i was 17 until i turned 20. then they stopped playing it. i believe they brought this song back for all of us who remember those days in Noblesville. they gave us a gift from our youth when they played this song that night, they only played it once in 12. and they played it from the heart, that's why we keep coming back every year, cause everybody's happy and everybody's free when your spending the weekend at dave with your friends.
You know, the Everyday album in general veered away from the bands creative energies as a whole, but I love when they refresh songs they don't play often. I think Mother Father would be a great song to bring back that the whole group could really jam out.
I am amazed at the quality of this clip! What do you do hi-jack Daves video feed? It looks like it? :-) Whatever it is keep doing it!! Incredible! And Thank you!
I REALLY hope they expand on this lil jam! They should experiment with a few other songs like this. Just keep playing riffs and see where they go :D Cant fawking wait for the Gorge!!!
Chester, thanks again for making my paperwork fly by so much faster. Fabulous audio. Any chance you can find Typical Situation from West Palm, Night 1, 2015?
This song, way back when it first came out, never sounded good live. But after seeing this, I believe that they've ironed out the kinks. And yes, where is Boyd?

This is easily the best full band version of this song. Love the outro...
Carter Beaufort most definitely absolutely "A Drummer Supreme, the Epitome!!!!" Percussion Master Indeed!!! 2019!!!!!
I never realized how much this song has a the police sound. Love it. I usually warm up to this song before performing.
Yes! I also kind of noticed Mayer’s Edge of Desire has the same sound. Though John himself said it’s similar to satellite.
Dave is the best song write ever!
dmb is one of the best bands ever, without a doubt
THE BEST.

my work goes so much slower lol. can't get shit done. I try to listen, but always end up watching
You probably appreciate Dave's use of acoustic guitar on this rather than electric, as well.
3:42🙌🏻
Such an underrated song. They should keep this outro, always. Tim coming in around 04:58 is excellent.

We can't hear Boyd in the mix
might want to put DMB in the title

Anyone else hear a police vibe in that third chord pull in the normal lyrics and the jam?
