In the HDTVTest video about tone mapping you say only the DPUB9000 has the 2 tone mapping settings specifically for projectors. Is it worth getting the DPUB9000 over the DPUB820 for this feature or can you just use one of the other settings? The difference in cost between these 2 blu ray players is £550
HU85LA is better, but they both leave much to be desired on contrast and black levels in comparison to rear projection alternatives, including significantly cheaper ones, such as Epson 5050UB. Basically, the only reason to go with a UST over a rear projection atm is if your room has ambient light, and you want to pair it with a UST-specific ALR screen, which can block over 90% of lights from other sources.

Optoma ust laser is 2 times the pixels and probably sharper. But the colour ,brightness , ambient light viewing, hdr and gaming lag would be won by Epson.
Your reviews are very detailed. But I am surprised that you didn't mention if the sharpness of the picture is the same on every part of the picture. This is a big downside of ultrashort throw projectors.

It is currently the fastest ultra short throw projector on the market in regards to latency. So it'll be the best for fps as of now. Also, from reviews I've read, it seems to be able to keep up on the most part.
Is it really 17” from the lens height to bottom of screen? Add that with the height of projector & shortest nice tv stand I can find is 24” high so that puts the bottom of the 100” screen already 4ft above the ground eeesh we’d have to look so high up 😞

I bought the Sony UST VPL-VZ1000ES about 1 month ago. After more than 2 years, this Sony UST is still the king of UST. It has native 4K, no rainbow effect, most quiet among UST, can do 3D, and has a great picture. It is still expensive but has gone down in price from $25,000 to $15,000. I got a better discount than $15,000 so I decide to buy it since I will not be going to the theater any time soon due to Covid-19. If anyone has the mean to buy the Sony UST VPL-VZ1000ES, then go for it. It will some time before you see a native 4K UST projector. Hisense 4K TriChroma Laser TV 100L7T and Chiq C8UT are two UST 4K laser projector that has triple laser technology that could try to compete with the Sony but they are still hard to get, especially the Hisense one. They will not be cheap either once they become more available and able to purchase in the USA.
Great review but I would to hear more about how the 3d performs in this projector compared to Epsom s earlier lamp based model like tw8200 and which 3d specks are used with this projector and where to buy . When you speak about details do not leave out portions which you may think not to be important. For me I wouldn't upgrade to any projector if it is not 3d enabled
Yes. Though if you plan on using it with an ALR screen means you would have to install the screen upside down as well, which would reduce its effectiveness.
I looked into this as I am also interested so I downloaded the manual. Epson says it can't and the settings menu has no settings for flipping your image. I guess if you make your own custom cradle (no screw holds for a commercial mount) and you can somehow flip your image before it gets to the projector you 'could', but that sounds pretty hacky. Cooling might not work properly either.
@@brvoigt Victor said that it could be mounted, I assumed thta this meant a secure mount thorugh normal way and not a hack. If I cant mount it on ceiling then what I have ordered has to go back! Can anyone else confirm if this can be mounted on the ceiling?

I also read on another review website that the Epson LS500 upscales to 1080P, and downscales 4k to 1080p. Then it upscales to 4K for displaying on screen. I wonder if this is true, if so, is it worth watching a 4k BluRay? Or just for the added benefit of HDR?
Guys which is better? Optoma or this Epson??
Optoma ust laser is 2 times the pixels and probably sharper.
But the colour ,brightness , ambient light viewing, hdr and gaming lag would be won by Epson.
the room is completely dark. How does it look with a brighter room or a little sunlight ?
Your reviews are very detailed. But I am surprised that you didn't mention if the sharpness of the picture is the same on every part of the picture. This is a big downside of ultrashort throw projectors.
Hi, i just bought this one but i have an electrical noise that i can easily hear in quiet room over low volume, is it normal or it's a problem and i need to change it ?
Thx
Can you do a video using the NVidia Shield Pro (2019) and the Epson LS500 together?
Optimal settings. (+ If you like AI Upscaling)
Including installing "Refresh Rate" app on the NVidia Shield Pro (2019) It allows you to configure the output of video and match content. Sending it to the TV/Projector.
What if i want to play ps4 with it? I mean it looks good to me but is it fast enough like fps on a tv.
It is currently the fastest ultra short throw projector on the market in regards to latency. So it'll be the best for fps as of now. Also, from reviews I've read, it seems to be able to keep up on the most part.
Excellent content - Thank you for knowledge and great delivery.
Is there any native 4K (no pixel shifting) UST Laser projector? DLP or LCD?
Thanks for the review. But please review and compare LS 300
There's a slight yellow tint. How do I get rid of it?
Is it really 17” from the lens height to bottom of screen?
Add that with the height of projector & shortest nice tv stand I can find is 24” high so that puts the bottom of the 100” screen already 4ft above the ground eeesh we’d have to look so high up 😞
They make UST cabinets specifically for these but they aren't cheap. Otherwise you can always ceiling mount it.
Hey, you are so lucky to get this? I have heard there is no release date for these yet?

I currently own the Epson LS500.
Hi. are you satisfied with your ls500? do you use it with an alr screen? how many inches? Does he make a lot of noise? or is it quiet? Thanks.
Ive studied this topic now for an entire day can you please resolve it, is 58PUS7555/12 better than 'the one'?
Thanks Vincent, hope you will do a review of the similar LG HU85LS soon.
Can it be on the ceiling mounted?
Epson 9400(ub6050) vs ls 500 in a light controlled room ?which has a better picture quality and better focus ?pls help
TW9400/ UB6050.
What’s the best, budget genuine 4K projector then? Not sold on the pixel shifting malarkey.
No such thing as a "budget" native 4k projector...
FSXgta I forget the price of the one in the review but there has to be something under £5k surely by now?
Jim Herd as far as I know Sony VW270 is the cheapest true 4K projector. It sells around £4800.
Benjamin El Harim Cheers. Still pretty pricey but I’d rather have true 4K I think.
Must be due an upgrade if it’s almost two years old.
How does this compare to the tw9400
Does this come with 4k motion processing?
Whats the movie trailer playing in the background with the cars?
ford v ferrari
How many nits does that translate to?
How does the projector do on a bare wall?
Yes, would also like to know this
Oh yeah, another projector review 😊 next stop is hopefully JVC🤪
rs3000🤩
Something wrong with the audio. Good video though!
@@crazyraiga I changed from a high resolution headphone system to a lower resolution speaker system and that helped 😊.
No native 4k? What are they thinking?
to be honest 99% of UST projectors don't have true 4k but use pixel shifting as this one does
still waiting for q900TS VS SONY Z8H video ...
Hello, does anyone know the length and height of the 120" screen?
106 inch width by 61 inch length
I bought this setup, but a 106" UST projector screen. I love it :D
Does any one know if this can be ceiling mounted?
CLR UST Screen?
what is title of the movie that seems to be car race??
Ford vs Ferrari
Great review but I would to hear more about how the 3d performs in this projector compared to Epsom s earlier lamp based model like tw8200 and which 3d specks are used with this projector and where to buy . When you speak about details do not leave out portions which you may think not to be important. For me I wouldn't upgrade to any projector if it is not 3d enabled
why does it look yellow-orange and hazy?
Can this projector be installed on the ceiling?
@@aquddus1907 Would love to hear the result when you receive it. I found no settings to flip the image in the Epson manual, this was the bigger worry for me.
@@brvoigt I cancelled it a couple of hours after the order following the same line of thinking. It's just not designed to fit that way. It's a shame as it seemed bright enough for daytime use as well for me. Looking forward to other devices that may come out. LG has a newer model HU810P that looks very interesting as well - not much info out in the marketplace yet.
interesting video thanks
Input lag for gaming?
terrible for gaming like all other projectors, even casual gamers will notice the insanely high input lag.
Some say 19ms some say 28ms. Have seen a few saw 19 and 20. I have had juggernaut on Shipment with this.
it's literally in the video 11:15
Excelente.
sorry, was distracted throughout the video since i can hear every time Vincent changed hands holding the microphone
what cars racing movie used in the test?
Ford vs Ferrari
@@mavricpritchard5487 great movie
Thank you for all the technical details, it’s much appreciated and what I needed. But please work on your speech, it was really hard to watch the video until the end, it felt like a robot talking... don’t take it as negative criticisms but as a positive improvement feedback please.
