I almost agree with your ranking and your reasons for them however there are a few i don't agree with. here's my ranking from worst to best and why: *8. Jedi Consualer* : Boring story, forgettable companions, annoying voices and just forgettable. Played 3-4 times still can't remember what happens or just don't care. *7. Smuggler* : Good oneliners a few good compainons, but overall forgettable story, and the voice acting is just meh *6. Sith Warrior* : Some cool companions and some good voice acting, but overall not really exciting story, chapter 1 is sooo boring. *5. Jedi Knight* : One of the best companions (Kira), Good voice acting (especially female), chapter 2 is just one dead run with pointless story. *4 Sith Inqus* : Interesting story, some good dialouge, voice acting is meh, some good companions, the story is strong in all chapters which makes it better than Jedi Knight. *3 Trooper* : Best female voice acting (Jennifer Hale), some fun fight, some awesome companions, and a great story overall, only downside some fights are just too easy. *2 Bounty Hunter* : 100% the best and most awesome companion in the game (Meko), Amazing story where you actually have an impact in what happens and how it turns out. Love it *1 Imp Agent* : What can i say, best story in a Star Wars game since KOTOR. Awesome and fun companions, great voice acting (doing different accents), Amazing amazing amazing.
Correction for Sith Warrior, you do not become a dark council member. You become emperor's wrath, that means you are operating outside of dark council.
My personal list would be like this 8-Bounty Hunter (It bored me to the bone and I really forget what happened in the story line of this class) 7-Trooper (Basic forward military life simulator missions with basic CoD companions and plot) 6-Smuggler (Just Swtor sitcom and nothing else) 5-Jedi Consular (Storyline might be boring from time to time but it had moments that makes you remember it dispite the storyline) 4-Sith Inquisitor (You are much more alligned with Ancient Sİth knowledge and Sith struggle) 3- Imperial Agent (Swtor starts to shine with this storyline, you see how Empire is struggling without its agents operating behind sith) 2-Sith Warrior (It has an interesting storyline and it has funny moments as well) 1-Jedi Knight (Just Kotor continuation) The best romance is Lana Beniko overall in the game.
However, once you defeat Baras at the end of the storyline, the game grants you the title "Darth". I'd say even if you're not exactly a member of the council, you work with them and hold the same (or more) amount of power.
@@erikaweber_ Surely no more. DArk Council and Wrath anwser only to Emperor, but Wrath usually is dling dirty job while Dark Council is busy ruling Sith Empire
@@DarthNox66 Wrath is not under the jurisdiction of the Dark Council. You can work with a group of people who rules an empire but that doesn't make them your superiors or someone you have to answer! "Working outside" means being outside the jurisdiction of the council!
Converting Jaesa to the Dark Side was a bad idea in hindsight. As the story goes on, she sorta just becomes a shallow serial killer. If she stays on the light side, her character gets more depth.
Bad execution doesn't equal bad idea. They could have done so much more with her like that she maybe fell to the dark side to save her own life and tried to cover up her guilt by drowning herself in the madness but that by the time we see her again after the main story she's been unable to run away from the guilt and she's become suicidal and we're left in a position to kill her ourselves to end her suffering, allow her to see the ligh again and ask forgivness for what we did to her or something in the middle that she stays dark but through the power of our love she gets over it. but no... she's just crazy.
I love the idea of corrupting her to the dark side but hate what they did with her. In my opinion she should have been closer to what Ashara is in the inquisitor storyline but with a little more aggression.
Conversion was actually done well. That she ended up as the worst version of herself is player´s accomplishment for dark side characters, but that does not mean I like her as a character when she cares for nothing else than killing. And lightside version is no better, she knows you want her, but will not romance you in the base game and she is naive despite all she went trough. It is like her intelligence dropped when he joined the empire, she showed better judgement when you were chasing her, and while even Nomen Carr calls her stupid child for coming to her rescue that is what a Jedi should do, so I do not hold it against her.
Its not because Dark Side Jaesa is just a person going completely mad. All her mental infrastructure is broken and she becomes only a shadow of herself - a shallow serial killer giving in to every vice possible because she was so denied and now there is no Jaesa to keep it all together because it got broken. Light side Jaesa is that Sith Warrior actually allows Jaesa to remain intact and heal. BUT the whole story doesnt make slightest bit of sense and is filled with plot holes + its too rushed. Jaesa goes from Im sane and light to " I wanna eat their flesh" too fast.
The most amazing thing to do is play the sith inquisitor, but go hard core light side. The dialogue options are hilarious and the amount of confusion you generate is amazing
My Darth imperius went light side on Korriban to piss off Overseer Harken and found success with it... And then she became the most manipulative and subverting version I could make her and because Dark Side option is to simply kill everyone she ended up as light side... The Sidious archetype of being dark side manipulator that controls everyone for personal needs and whims is missing in the game.
Same is with the Sith Warrior. I played hardcore LS with the SW. I remember there was a scene where you faced off Jedi and if you insist on resolving it peacefully the Jedi get REALLY confused one of them abandons even the fight bc he says that the SW shows no aggression and doesnt attack them so the Jedi way is to stand aside. Which was refreshing to see. I think any LS Sith character is fun as hell :D
What I love about the Inquisitor is that it's a real "from rags to riches" story. It's literaly the only one where you don't start off as "the special one", yet you end up on the Dark Counsil. Also it's easily the best story to go into DLC content. Not only does it makes the most sense that Darth Marr asks a fellow Counsil member for help, but this whole "Ghost- Absorbtion- Thing" also goes very well with the story of the DLC-content!
"Ghost Absorbtion" isnt even mentioned after the class story. Maybe here and there but if you keep the Ghosts then it has literally no consequence or whatsoever. I liked the story also but the decision to keep them or release them was just unneccesary since I think the "Canon" Decision is that the SI releases them otherwise the ghosts would have been mentioned especially by Valkorion who literally is in you similar to those ghosts but he says nothing about them.
Light Side Sith Warrior is probably one of my favorite playthroughs, especially when romancing Vette. It's one of the most stable, wholesome, and healthy relationships in all of gaming, and it's between a fucking Sith Lord and his former slave. They even wait until they're married before getting it on. It's fucking adorable.
@goldenfiberwheat238 Playing a Light Side Sith is fun because it adds a layer of drama: that of a good man trying to navigate a world where no good deed goes unpunished, growing more powerful in spite of his dark masters' teachings; a man holding onto a humanity that both the Jedi and the Sith seem to lack. It's one of the few storylines where you can put the hypocrisy of both sides on full display and truly walk your own path.
@@goldenfiberwheat238 I know it's hard to imagine now, but back before Disney fucked everything up, there was some actual nuance to Star Wars characters. Lame, I know. Who wants actual three-dimensional characters when you can have a mustache twirling cartoon villain who does evil shit purely because it's evil? Skeletor is clearly the greatest villain of all time.
Jedi Consular is definitely not for everyone. However I really enjoyed it for being a journey of a more typical jedi. We've seen heroic jedi many times in this franchise, so playing as a healer and diplomat was a nice change of pace. Zenith's companion storyline was also interesting, especially if you play as a more light sided jedi who disagrees with his radical ideas. Zenith also has some of the best voice acting from the base game.
Totally agree! I really felt immersed as a Jedi and I loved how as the story progressed *SPOILER AHEAD* you move up in the ranks in the Jedi Order. Barsenthor > Hero of the Republic
Whenever Jedi Consular become sarcastic and full of sass, it will immediately go up my list Especially the *"if you love the force so much, Prepare to become one with it"*
I have a head cannon that a Jedi Consular is more of a Jedi Advisor. Like a King Advisor in a medieval aesthetic. A guy with amazing wits and sage like features that only fights when absolutely necessary.
You should rank all the romances (if you've done them all at least) from worst to best, I think us Bioware fans would enjoy seeing a romance ranking for this game.
The Sith Warrior story line has always been my favourite, Darth Baras is fun to mess with during the first chapter, the fact your alignment changes the way a companion acts is unique, and ascending to become the Emperors Wrath holds a special place because I love the Revan novel and the fact that Scourge is someone you will get to meet later, it also gives some great unique dialogue during the events of Shadow of Revan when confronting the Emperor as Vitiate, then in Kotfe when fighting him as Valkorian an again when facing him as Tenebrae, the struggle against the immortal Emperor feels like it can only really be appreciated as either the Jedi Knight or as the Sith Warrior, just because of how personal it is for those characters.
I’m indifferent. I like sith inq. Like the thought of a slave being a sith only to raise up up a lord and then a member of the dark council is amazing. Like the sith inq, if you’re an alien, is changing the views of other aliens and how they SHOULD be viewed.
to me it's: 8 - counsler 7 - trooper (felt like there was no story to tell after the first chapter) 6 - bounty hunter (felt like there was no story to tell after the first chapter but the first chapter was awesome) 5 - smuggler (felt like there was no story to tell after the first chapter, but the voice actress did so much justice with the character that it felt like an actual tv show with lots of fun fillers) 4 - knight ,the knight is the main story, the reason this game even came out, the "justification" for not doing kotor 3, and it felt like i got the answers they are "owed", even if it was MEH 3 - warrior, the warrior you feel like the world belongs to you, sometimes stupidly, but most of the time, you are that badass op savage monster that just waltz in and everyone bows, it's fun 2 - i.e, the imperial agent felt like someone actually cared for this story, there were very few moments i felt like "this planet was boring" and overall, a great experience 1 - inquisitor, zash made the story AMAZING!!! litteraly, zash is my main character of swtor inquisitor storyline, i don't understand how people miss that, she was incredible ally/enemy, even as an enemy, it felt like she was our step mother/sister that care about even if she just uses us and "manipulates" us. i wanted zash to be like a main companion, it felt like she carried the plot
Zash was really well written although I didnt want her as a companion. Sure she was useful but she didnt do it bc she liked us or wanted to help us. She just did it to buy her time and when she finds a solution to take over your body then she would be in the position of a Darth and sit even on the Dark Council. Remember always that she is a schemer through and through. Also you eliminated her biggest rival Thanaton. She should be even grateful that we killed her bc Kallig wouldnt have saved her probably from Thanaton (Because he would have sensed that the SI is dead and the body belongs to Zash now) and Zash would be laying dead in the Dark Temple :D Its just a shame that they dont do anything with her if you give her Khems body. After KOTFE she is just gone and doesnt return. Only if you kill her for good then she returns for a bit but then she is gone again...
but that's the whole point, she is a massive character in our story, she has a sharp mind, actual motivation, goals, ideas, hardships she tries to overcome using us and whatelse she can.and she's a schemer which falls in line with the idea of inquisitor. she isn't afraid to dirty her hands which is hella important to prove she is powerfull. all and all, she was fantastic. @@kadirr8974
Shadow was my main at release and the consular story drove me to hit space bar like it was my step son on All classes... Now that I've gotten back into the game I'm playing through all the incredible stories 10 years later... and I'm kinda thankful consular saved these for me when I was more mature lol
i've watched over 3 hours of jedi consular story of someone played and i have never had such a great nap in my entire life... best sleep time story EVER
@@NoblePlays but now that i am playing it... its actually not bad for me lol... maybe bcuz im going full light side so its fun... the smuggler story for me is like a pizza reheating in the microwave, shouldnt be in there longer than 10 seconds... that was me lol.
Speaking as someone who only started playing last weekend I am like 5 planets into the Jedi guardian story. I really, really enjoy it so far. Such a different experience from WoW.
To me it's a dog sh!t. I expected the best from SI storyline but was disappointed like hell. There is literally EVERYTHING wrong with it. Ugly gay male voice, crew that make no sense and story that putting you to sleep. And WHY TF they called this class "Inquisitor"... if he/she has never been part of that organization?! You don't become 9 sister or 813 brother or whatever. You just... another sith lord. What REAL inquisitors do: hunt down jedi across the galaxy. Seek traitors and spies among imperials. Torture prisoners. What SWTOR Inquisitor parody does: collecting funny cubes for mama sith and talking to ghosts. Just to take a seat in dark council member chair. Which is basically useless for further story.
I love all eight original SWTOR stories and I enjoyed them thoroughly (some more than others of course). If I had to rank them, it would be like this: 1. IMPERIAL AGENT: By far the best story. Very interesting and intense with a great atmosphere, suspense and mystery. Just one example, it is great how the story makes you itchy during the second chapter and you cannot wait for a payback at the end of it, while you gradually discover who is responsible for the whole thing in the meantime. Anyway, the story maintains a consistently high quality through all three chapters and it keeps you well-immersed and super engaged. Also, SWTOR was pretty much the first time in Star Wars where you could actually experience the Empire side properly and they did an excellent job. 2. SITH WARRIOR: An excellent story all-around that provides an exhilarating ride. Hands down the best and most fun dialogue (e.g., I love the badass lines and witty comebacks). I think the male Sith Warrior character has the best voice acting of all classes and many other associated characters have great voice acting too (e.g., Baras, Vette, Vowrawn, etc.). Putting aside the intended story immersion-related distaste, Baras is one of the best-written characters in the game. I think Sith Warrior also has the best set of companions. That being said, Sith Warrior and Imperial Agent are by far my favourite ones so I might easily be able to switch places in the ranking. 3. SITH INQUISITOR: A very good immersive and character-centric story. The story is so much focused on the treachery and mysteries of force that it is almost completely isolated/detached from the main galactic events (for example, the story does not even explicitly inform you that the war restarted in the second chapter). However, I feel that is actually a great strength of the Inquisitor story that gets you immersed into exploring your own thing and somewhat feels more personal. 4. SMUGGLER: A unique approach to the story. It is funny that the underlying common ground among all three chapters is that you are being duped by someone or another all the time (first Skavak, then Darmas, and finally Voidwolf) and you somehow manage to come on top every time. I like the mystery in the first chapter. I also love the idea of being a Republic privateer in the second chapter and the visits to Port Nowhere-a very good atmosphere. 5. JEDI CONSULAR: It might be a surprise to place Consular this high. I will start with the fact that writers who were assigned Jedi and Republic characters drew the short straws since these inherently had much less potential than Sith and Empire ones, to begin with. I mean there is much less appeal in being a galactic monk or a grunt than a Sith or an intelligence agent. Yet, at least the Consular story managed to infuse some mastery and intrigue, as opposed to Knight. Admittedly the first chapter’s mystery was extremely obvious and I pretty much guessed it from the beginning but I enjoyed the ride anyway. I love the diplomacy aspect in the second chapter and I think that chapter is the highlight of the Consular story. 6. JEDI KNIGHT: A super generic tale that we have seen many times before and they definitely did not take any risk to explore something more interesting. In general, the Knight story is on the surface somewhat more exciting than the Consular story, but it also is less fresh, more generic, and more cliché. Furthermore, one can feel that someone in the creators team desperately tried to force this to be the “most important” character (e.g., all the super weapons, saving the world again and again, being the one going after the Emperor, etc.). However, that backfired and made the story generic and bland: saving the world again and again gets old very quickly. The first chapter is still interesting but the last two are quite bland. 7. BOUNTY HUNTER: In general a solid story but somewhat a letdown. I must admit that the bounty-hunting role itself does not have a big appeal to me. However, the writers made it worse by making the whole concept into some kind of grand public circus-like event (e.g., Great Hunt and Blacklist), as opposed to a personal journey doing dirty work for some random mysterious customer and then taking it from there into some sort of mystery (Bounty Hunter writers could have learned from the Inquisitor story approach). A huge missed potential there for sure. 8. TROOPER: A decent story but the soldier role is not very appealing for me personally. Unlike the Hunter story where there was good potential but they did not realise it, I feel that the Trooper story did not have such a good potential to begin with but they tried to make the best of it. Still quite an enjoyable personal ride.
I think I would have ranked with warrior little higher. Fun part of the story is that you could screw with the Jedi when you were hunting down Jaesa if you found the Jedi with higher light side than dark they could become confused, and you got some conversation options to gas light them into fighting if you wanted.
Good points for all of them :) I rank them by significance to the overarching storylines which tend to involve the emperor Bounty Hunter and Smuggler have little to no consequence for the Emperor and his power plays Trooper and Agent are slightly more involved if only for their alliegances Inquisitor and Consular are force based so kind of but not really Knight and Warrior are the only ones who directly interface with the Emperor, so the conflict feels much more personal
its really hard for me to choose between all 8 SWTOR stories but i really enjoyed them all but my top 4 in no particular order is Agent (Best ship and great story) Consular ( you dont need constant Action for a good story i find it enjoyable) Smuggler ( its just alot of fun) Inquisitor (very enjoyable story) my three most played Stories are JC, SI & IA Smuggler was my first Story
I actually liked the jedi counsler story line it was bland at times but overall pretty fun and things started to kick into hyperdrive when chapter 2 of the story begun first you just start as a mere padwan but as the story progresses you turn into the warden of the republic and a jedi master even eventually you take your seat at the jedi counsel i might be a bit baised cause that was my first class but i stand with my opinion and belive jedi counsler is has a good maybe even great cause it does get slow from time to time but i still love it
Honestly i for a very long time thought Consular was the most boring one, but that is cuz i just never found myself the time to finish his story. Until one day where i finally did, and honestly, it was just chapter 1 that was pretty boring to me, but the rest was actually kinda fun.
I would argue that there are better stories in Star Wars games than the imperial agent one (kotor comes to mind) but for swtor it’s the goat. Personally love the bounty Hunter a lot too, it just feels so liberating, not being inherently constrained to one faction
I actually enjoyed the Jedi Consular story, but I played as a sentinel for my own RP story. The story gives empty threats of your own life being at risk by using the force to protect those effected by the force possession, but you never lose stats and are never impacted. In cut scenes your shown weakness, but seconds after you're perfectly fine and slaying mobs of enemies. It was interesting but there was never a threat. I did also enjoy that there is a dark side path where you just murder, I only did that once.
I loved the story of the IA from the start of the game back in the good old days.. as a Chiss Lady who was&is still effective in combat PvE and PvP alike. )))
8. Trooper: Lots of potential, but ultimately, I didn't feel invested. 4X was too 1 dimensional but Jorgan was cool. 7. Consular: Great start, but as it goes on, the story starts to feel slower and slower. Quyzen Fess is awesome though! Also romancing Nadia made me feel dirty in a not fun way. 6. Agent: The story is great, and I love how if you play as a Chiss, people acknowledge your species. You can essentially be the biggest hoe in the galaxy. I love the ship's design and Dr. Lokin and Kalyio are cool, but the other companions are kinda meh. 5. Inquisitor: Great rags to riches story. Great companions, but weak romance. Interesting lore, but too slow in the 2nd chapter for me. 4. Smuggler: I love how he's just a dude trying to make a living and then becomes a pirate king. It's fun, the ship is awesome, and the companions are great! Unfortunately, the Voss part of the story is always the slowest part. Guss is hilarious and who doesn't like Bowdarr and Akaavi? 3. Warrior: Great story! Great companions, except Brunmark and Quinn(traitor). Great romance! My wife in real life has a similar personality to Vette, so I always have a soft spot for her. Jaesa is fun too but I feel like she'd kill me in my sleep. 2. Knight: The hero's journey in a nutshell! I love it start to finish. Master Orgus' death gets me every time! Kira is the best romance in the class stories and T7 is one of my favorite droids! The Knight feels like the heir of Revan. Bounty Hunter: I get to be a badass Mandalorian in a galaxy full of space wizards and massive beasts! What more could a guy want? The ship is so cool, and 2VR8 feels like he belongs to the Hunter. Torian is cool, Mako is feisty, Blizz is adorable, Gault is hilarious, and Skadge is funny in a dark way. I actually run a mando guild called Clan Odekk.
Bruh Sith Warrior is a top 3 story AT LEAST. The voice actor is god tier, the plot and decisions you make actually have an effect on the story unlike most of the stories. It’s epic it’s got great companions and a good pace I’ve played it like 6 times and winning Jaesa through being a Ls Sith warrior is the best moment in all of swtor:
Can't believe warrior was number 5 probably my second favorite. Chapter one was great tracking down jaesa. Then classic master vs apprentice storyline leading up to being named emperor wrath and a showdown with your old master in front of the dark council. A lot better than the betrayal arc with agent and the brainwashing arc.
Jedi Consular's master should have been Satele. Who should have made remarks about your ever increasing pull to the Dark Side,if given the chance. As in,beign more militaristic, pragmatic, brutal and merciless in your dealings with allies and enemies.
love the video. I rank the stories in roughly the same order but with the sith warrior and inquisitor switched. I may be a little biased because the sith warrior was my first character.
I started swtor recently played only for 3 weeks total. My first character was a female sith inquistor, the charm of the voice actress is insane haha. And all the lines of sarcasm are so amazing. Will finish other classes eventually
I must've played Imperial Agent storyline 10+ times, I have a stockpile of snipers in my roster that I always put off deleting lol... interesting to think about whether the IA storyline had any influence on the writers or tone of the mature/darker Andor tv show storywriting btw, a very interesting article about its writing: *The Imperial Agent, Inspiration, and Science-Fiction Espionage (Part 1) | Alexander M. Freed* I think having a romance with Khaliyo is underrated, while extreme she's a very invigorating character (especially compared to some blander companions)... and, I remember thinking it was a neat payoff when in the later expansion she turned out to be Firebrand, it was almost like Imperial Agent was the actual main longterm storyline my memory is too rusty to really come up with a story rank list, but: Counselor and Trooper were the most boring, the fanatical enthusiasm for Sith Warrior was always confusing, my playing Smuggler as a female Han Solo probably helped with its enjoyment... Sith Inquisitor was definitely aided by Khem Val's character, "I have an excellent Sabacc face. That was a joke, I hate Sabacc." Companion Appearance Customizations also actually made a difference, wonder if being able to use your favorite face from any class companion with any other one would've been good or bad (they've made pretty much every other cosmetic swappable)
My main is a light side SW, and I have to say that was easily the best LS run I've had. I played each class light and dark (I have way too many hours in this game lol). Dark side smuggler and Knight were also fantastic, as was light side inquisitor. Maybe I'm just being a hipster though 😅 I like the agent too, I think its equally good no matter what alignment you are.
Both my agents stayed pretty much neutral (one more lening to ds and the other to ls). In my mind agent always chooses optimal action in any given situation so i did just that.
I think JC requires a certain degree of maturity and understanding of the whole jedi role fantasy. I enjoyed it a lot more than JK for example. It goes trooper, smuggler, BH, JK, SI, IA, JC, SW(as LS, DS is behind JC) for me.
That is a certain lack of maturity in your logic. It isn't really about maturity. Yes, there are tones there, but they are superficial at best. The first act is either you go around killing Jedi Masters despite knowing how to shield them or stupidly using your power to shield them knowing it will cost you. There is no middle road, either pure self sacrifice or murdering people who are essentially infected by a disease. You have every right to like it, but it takes no maturity to understand where they were going for. I could easily say that it is ironic that you talk about maturity with that storyline, but put SW above IA and SI ... both of which deal with topics of a similar vein while the SW does not.
My list (and some brief reasoning): 1. Bounty Hunter- Best Crew hands-down, and that's the kind of stuff I'm here for. 2. Imperial Agent- Best branching choices and general narrative, kinda lame cast puts it just under BH but amazing story puts it above everything else. 3. Sith Warrior- Multi-stage boss fights make me feel cool, and best use of the Light/Dark Alignment. 4- Smuggler- A pretty bad story saved by having my exact style of humor. It makes me laugh and that's enough. Plus, pretty decent crew, ignoring a miss or two. 5. Jedi Consular- A bit dry in places, but honestly has some pretty cool ideas. Some actually interesting moral dilemmas instead of binary good/evil choices. 6. Jedi Knight- Bland, inoffensive Star Wars story. Not bad, but not especially interesting. 7. Trooper- Boring rip-off of Mass Effect, but at least Chapter 1 was pretty good. Also Jorgan carries the crew on his back. What a legend. 8. Sith Inquisitor- A terrible story about an idiot that should have died several times if he/she weren't saved by his/her ghost daddy. Couple that with a boring crew (outside of Khem, who is the only character in the entire story I'm invested in at all) and there's literally nothing for me there. At least some of the insane inquisitor lines are pretty funny.
In my guild we kept telling one of our members "Oh, you have to try the agent quest line - it's the best! - you end up as a brainwashed triple agent!" - finally he tried it - "How's it going Mike?" "I don't know who I'm working for any more, and there's stuff coming through the walls!". I still remember an interaction where I chose the option "Help! I've been brainwashed!" and my character says "Yes, everything's fine"
This is first “opinion based” tier list I’m basically 100% in agreement with, I think it’s very fair. My favorite is BH but in terms of what’s the best overall I will say that Agent/Inquisitor are right there at the top. If you wanna feel like a powerful non-force user that answers to nobody and most armor styles would fit lore wise, BH is for you 100%. If you wanna be the James Bond of the Empire, light side/dark side seem to matter the most in effecting the outcome of the story then Agent is for you 100%. If you wanna play as your own version of your favorite dark lord then the Sith inquisitor is 100% for you, wildly impactful and emotional cutscenes that almost make you feel the static power in your own fingertips as you destroy your enemies and deal with those who would try and play you for a fool…and you most certainly aren’t to be messed with! Great video 🎉
I liked Jedi knight story more since it felt like u where the chosen one and had more story to it with all that and including the dlc being a Jedi knight felt right ya know especially now that I can use multiple powers with it and use my Sith abilities so that’s pretty dope in it’s self also the character voice is also what gets me the Sith inquisitor voice I didn’t really like it but the story was amazing especially when u get all the ghost powers that was cool and u tanked the lightning at the end with the glowy eyes
I have to agree with this list. Bounty Hunter was my first and is my favorite storyline. So much potential with light and dark side choices. Agent and Inquisitor are also amazing, they really go in depth on what their classes really are about
personally: 1)inquisitor 2)Warrior 3)Agent 4)Trooper 5)Smuggler (DS) 6)knight(neutral/ leaning DS) 7)Consular(DS) 8)BH(DS) I really like act 3, but it is a pain getting there. I would only change this placement if i played the class first. Inquisitor was the first ever run through and i liked how the planetary stories and choices added to my character. I'll also add i really didn't like the comps for consular, so maybe BH does better due to that. The knight also offers a better Dark Jedi story opportunity.
Im probably the odd one out, but smuggler is my favorite (Agent is a very close second), just love how it doesn't take itself seriously, and has fun telling its story.
My number one was the Bounty Hunter story line. But really I mostly enjoyed all of them in their own way. Each had sone good moments and some cheesy ones.
I absolutely disagree with your list, but still liked your video because it's your opinion, and you're entitled to it. And because you're talking about SWTOR.
While I agree the consular story is the worst, it is not without high stakes though. They just don't convey it to you very well, but imagine what would happen if you would fail your story. :)
The awnser is the entire jedi order would fall some would die others turn into sith and from there without the jedi backing up the republic the empire would have won
A way to raise the stakes would've been having the Consular having a vision of failure in meditation. What if the Sith Lord was reborn with the Jedi sucked dry or the first son had won. Also I wish they had shown the bad guy perspective like in Fallen Empire and onwards. Imagine if we'd gotten to know Phanaton more, maybe he was pursuing some goal or had some plan for the Sith that would make him more simpathetic.
I understand where people hate the consular, but it's not bad. Its one if my favorites. I played mine as a sentinel. Before i knew the story I made my own. A sentinel that had seen combat and wanted to know more about the force. It put an intriguing perspective on the story. Giving up your power/life to save others and help them come back to the light. The commando and guardian stories were so boring I couldn't play it all the way through. But the bounty hunter and imperial agent stories were so beautiful, as was the inquisitor. All of the sith stories were fantastic.
Counter: 8. Consular 7. Smug Reason: they’re just mediocre, something has to be at the bottom of the barrel. Qyzen and Smug’s companions are awesome and would fit on any other characters story. 6. Trooper 5. BH 4. Knight Reason: they fit in the middle of the group because they are what you expect them to be. The trooper is a trooper rising in the republic military, the BH is a merc that rises to the top, and the knight is a Jedi knight. Trooper is just good and what you expect. BH is what you expect and a little bit more, chap 1-2 is exactly what you expect, chap 3 is awesome. Knight is what you expect but it goes hard, and Dark Jedi Knight is a blast. 3. Agent. The twists and turns, dark side James Bond, the companions, all of it. 2. Warrior. Do you want to feel badass with a physical presence? Overpower anything with a stare? Warrior would be #1 but you can’t kill Malavai near the end of Chap 3 anymore. One thing you did state wrong was that the warrior joins the Dark Council. He actually is the Emperor’s/Empire’s Wrath, a position above the Dark Council. 1. Inquisitor. Do you want to feel badass with a magical force presence? This thing isn’t humanoid anymore, it ate so many force ghosts it became an entity of power. Romance choices? I’d agree with you but the inquisitor becomes an embodiment of power and Khem Val will eat any and all force uses. Shitting on Zash is awesome. Shitting on Thanaton is awesome. I would argue that 1-3 are interchangeable. The two Sith stories and their clear progression of power and destruction are just so good. Consequences, rises, falls, returns, twists and turns. The top 3-4 are the top because they make you feel it. If you wanted to go on through the expansion stories with characters that just make sense, Knight, Agent, Warrior and Inquisitor are it. The Knight is always on a quest to save the Republic, the Agent and Warrior are always on a quest to save the Empire, and the Inquisitor are always on a quest for more power. Those characters fit as the “Outlander” who saves the galaxy.
I would say knight, agent, consular, warrior, and maybe inq are best to be the outlander. Inq only because it’s a force user. The other 3 force users have connections to the emperor and the agent has to kill Scorpio and kailyo. Also has had people in its head before. Also if you become a double agent at the end of your story you can continue that in ossus and onslaught
Being that the Sith Warrior has two girls and everyone else gets one is messed up. Luckily you can just pick the story and be anything different as a class lol.
I really like this list, because I’m completing my very first SWTOR play through on a Smuggler and am loving it. Seeing this ranked as 7th out of 8 makes me very excited to continue to experience and explore this game!!!
First I want to say I enjoyed every class story. I like how different they are and I have played each class over 4 times. This is my list. I am truly surprised by how high you place the Bounty Hunter. I love the class but the story is weak. Yes, the great hunt is cool. then after that, the story just dies for me. You just become a lackey of the Imperials. Smuggler is very similar but instead, you just become tricked to work for the enemy making you feel like a fool. I wish the Bounty Hunter and Smuggler would have stayed more neutral. More about working for themselves. 1, Imperial Agent 2, Sith Warrior 3, Jedi Knight 4, Sith Inquisitor 5, Trooper 6, Smuggler 7, Bounty Hunter 8, Jedi Consular
And here is the actual list. 6, 7, 8 Consular, Smuggler and Trooper Could be swapped in or out. 5. Bounty Hunter. 4. Knight. 3 and 2 could be swapped, Warrior and Inquisitor. 1 Agent.
I enjoyed every story but i few ideas why it feels Republic fall flat : 1) The people you help / betray you are stangers (consular don't have time to care & feel connected to his master you end-up helping her for Qyzen) (you never bonded with havoc squad before betrayal as a soldier.) (I didn't care to take back a ship i never flight with as Smuggler) Jedi knight is ok 2) You don't feel presure or urge to act as on the Sith side. 3) Narration allow more grey character on the sith side republic "feels too judgy" and you have really cut personnality -Soldier shiny boring mr perfect/war criminal it feels there is no in between -Consular the old cary nanny/the emotionless droid -Smuggler the i'm awsome helper, protector or the orphan & widows/ the jester, lover of anyone in the galaxy / the space pirate asshole. -Jedi knight is a cliche of the jedi or the fallen jedi Some part ar really nice but brush the theme quickly and compare to the Sith no decision seem to come bite you later down the story. lightside decision never have dire outcome... and in the end it feel too smooth too good to be true.
I’d love to see a rating of these factoring in dark vs light. I think a light side Jedi is so boring compared to being a rude/evil one for example. I’d put light Jedi knight at the bottom, while a dark Jedi is surprisingly entertaining.
As a former Member of the Canadian Armord Forces I enjoyed both the Trooper and agent story lines and the bounty Hunter. I put the story lines in this order agent 1 bounty Hunter 2 trooper 3 sith warrior 4 Ing 5 6 the Jedi knight 7 Smuggler and like most of the player base Con in 8th. But the best thing I live about the anget is do one as light side it has a little secret in the end of shadow of Revan!
If im honest, if I just wanted to play 5/8 of the characters, here's my tier list that im literally working on, now that im back from SWTOR Hiatus. - 1 = Jedi Knight, as that's the Journey that started it all, so I'm sentimental for it. - 2 = Trooper, because im a huge fan of Clone Wars, so running as any kind of Trooper alongside a Jedi option was a forgone conclusion. Plus SWTOR Cinematic trailer "Hope" is one of my Big Faves alongside the Trooper Progression one. - 3 = Sith Warrior, this class was my second journey, period, I actually started off with as a mirror to Jedi Knight for Empire originally. Thank the combat styles patch making the Sith Sorcerer as a combat style so that I can give Sith Warrior Force Lightning, lol. 4 = Imperial Agent, because despite the story and how it's written, I prefer to play the class as kinda a Sith Trooper since I came back to playing SWTOR. Basically, this is thw class I started playing only recently as a mirror to my trio of Vanguard Troopers. 5 = Bounty Hunter, because Mando story beats, and a Mando Romance option. Enough said lol.
I ranked: 8) The Jedi Consular- Pros you can follow the expected path, but the dark teachings of Tython provide a rationale for you to create a Palpatine under the nose of the Academy. Cons: It's a mage with a stat stick. The interesting telekinetic powers went to the tank spec of Shadow. Devs crippled the storyline by not accounting for a dark side playrthrough. 7) The Sith Inquisitor- Pros thunder and lightning. The ghosts plot is interesting and original. Cons: Remove the fireworks, the Inquisitor is your run-of-the-mill twirling mustache villain, pursuing power for the sake of power. Got boring in act 3. Missed the chance to include more Sith Old Republic lore. 6) The Smuggler- Pros: Witty banter. The girls. Cons: Very bland storyline, gets railroaded mid act 2. 5) The Trooper- Pros: Elara. Playing renegade Sheppard makes for an interesting trooper. Cons: storyline is very average, not the best, but not the worst either. 4) The Bounty Hunter- Pros: It's actually interesting, and have fleshed out choices Blizz. Cons: Sometimes, it becomes slow paced and boring (Taris). Honorable mention: Mako (Vette, but childish and can't shut her mouth) 3) The Sith Warrior- Pros: Escapes the twirling mustache villain trope. Storyline is interesting. Vette. Cons: Quinn, Being Marr's apprentice would make for a more insteresting storyline. and bump it to second or first. Can't kill Quinn. Turning Jaessa proved to be a bad move: she becomes stupid evil, which is a death sentence to any villain with aspirations of being interesting. 2) The Imperial Agent- You're a spy, work for the Empire, pílot fancy vehicles, and employ gadgets to get the job done. Watcher 2. Cons: Worst crew of all classes. Can't kill Kaliyo. 1) The Jedi Knight: Pros: If you like Jedi, this is your class. Technically, was considered at the time the KotOR 3 canon, before Star Wars taking a turn for worse. Kira. Cons: voice acting could be better.
I’m not too surprised about consular I know it’s not too popular but it does have some nuances with being a warrior and diplomat so that’s kind of nice
My list would be 8 - Trooper 7 - Smuggler 6 - Consular 5 - Warrior 4 - Hunter 3 - Knight 2 - Inquisitor 1 - Agent But honestly, I've played off and on since beta, and I find something to love about all the classes. Republic classes really got screwed on the romance sub-plots though, christ they're all either undercooked or just plain terrible How dare you, Andronikos has the most romantic line in the whole game, physically together or apart, you're always in each others' orbits till the stars go dark.
My choices right now are Sith warrior (the only reason I’ll play it is for Jaesa), Bounty Hunter (only reason is for Mako), Sith inquisitor, and Imperial Agent. Last two don’t have good romance options but are probably better than the first two.
I've played Consular, Inquisitor, Smuggler, and Agent and Agent ranks far above as the best storyline of the four and the other 4 will have to be pretty good to top it.
Good video, but a bit too focused on the waifus. I actually would consider my favorites to be Sith Warrior and the Smuggler, the smuggler is the funniest and most smooth to play, while having a lot of love-to-hate npc's and some great voice work, while the Sith Warrior has the best story progression, and cast of companions, and works super well with the expansions. My least favorites would be the Jedi Knight/Consular, they felt really monotonous and uninteresting, with some sub-par voice work and overall blandness.
First time viewer here. I like how you edited the video so the background always matches, with what you are saying/want to portrate and that you took the companions in to your consideration. They are on of the most influential companion/team members of any game and make a significant part of how the story is perceived. Still I have a some critique what in my opinion was to much. The spoilers. Don't get me wrong, to make a tier list you have to know the story and argue your rating. But you straight up told (e.g. for the Sith Warrior) what the final boss and plot line is which isn't really necessary and I think demotivates all who would like to have played it themselfs. Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself and your viewerbase is made up of pros who know all the story lines but I think in general a more appropriate approach would be with less spoilers. 😅
Hi there! Welcome first and foremost! I’m sorry first of all got spoiling things for you. Most of my fan base has been around the game a long time. So I don’t think about it too much. I will update the title to reflect spoilers. Hope you come back and join the noble army!
My rankings (first to last): 1. Jedi Knight - The classic Star Wars story with the hero to save the galaxy. Makes more sense to play this story as Light Side, as that is what is intended. But, playing it as Dark Side is a lot of fun even though things don't make sense in some of it turns out if you truly are Dark Side. My very first toon I created in the game years ago at the start was a Jedi Sentinel. Thought it how cool it was to have 2 sabers. Anyway, he was my main raiding toon for the first few years of the game until I started branching out and creating more toons. While I still love the Sentinel play, my aging hands took a beating those first couple years. I find Guardian play much better on the hands and i now consider Guardian my main DPS raiding toon. Kira is my favorite companion in the game. Doc does have the funny lines but is disgusting if you play as a female. 2. Imperial Agent - Definitely the best imperial story (and close to JK story for being best overall.) I find playing as a female character is better than playing as a male character. I like the female voice actor too....just perfect. The Male voice is okay if playing as dark side, but, IMO, it doesn't fit if playing as light side. Having the choice to seduce or kill disgusting men to get info you need is a typical "spy" tactic and it makes it that much more fun. Whether you play as a male or as a female, you do feel like some of the famous spies in history (or even in fiction or film.) Though, imperial agent do get the weirdest companions in the game. Kaliyo the anarchist, Vector Hyllus the half human-half bug diplomat, Dr. Lokin who can change into a Rakghoul, Ensign Temple the force sensitive who has no problem of killing her own father, and Scorpio the psychotic droid who is only interested in improving herself with self-iterations. The Kaliyo romance is fun to do though when playing as a male. Kaliyo also has the best lines in the game of any companion. Some of her line have the "spit out your drink" reaction when you hear them for the first time and not expecting it. First time on Yavin IV in the training grounds, if you have Kaliyo out as your companion, her lines are priceless. 3. Smuggler - I really like this story. You get to fly in a ship similar to The Millennium Falcon, you get your own Wookiee companion. You get to smuggle things around the galaxy and deliver them to their destinations. You get to search for treasure and fight your way through obstacles and bad people (imperials and even republic traitors.) Risha is a nice companion who first sends you off as an errand boy once you get your ship back and having to start smuggling and delivering thing before the treasure hunt. Her romance is okay, but I prefer Akaavi's romance better. Also, depending on how you play things out between the two (starting to romance Akaavi before you finish romancing Rishi,) you can find your self into a funny love triangle between the two of them (cat fight!) IMO, playing the Smuggler story as a Male is much better than female (opposite of agent story.) Male Smuggler can be a womanizer sleeping his way through the story with various female NPCs. Playing as Dark Side Smugger can be fun too. 4. Sith Warrior - Classic Sith story. In order to succeed, follow the Sith Code and just kill your way to the top to get promoted, finally having to kill/humiliate your master in front of the dark council. Playing as Dark Side if you feel evil or playing as Light Side if you want to improve the quality of the Empire without having to sacrifice. As for companions, if playing as a male, I prefer Vette over DS Jaesa as a romance companion. If you could've romanced LS Jaesa in the vanilla story, I would've preferred LS Jaesa. DS Jaesa is just too bat shit crazy, even for a Sith. Vette has some of the best lines in the game for a companion (probably right after Kaliyo and Kira's lines.) Playing as a female, you get stuck with Quinn. Whether I'm LS or DS, male or female, I can't stand Quinn. Even if I end up marrying Quinn in the vanilla story as a female, I dump him the first chance I get in KOTFE/KOTET expansions if I don't kill him or imprison him. Usually, I dump him for a Lana romance or a LS Jaesa romance on Ossus if I have LS Jaesa and not DS Jaesa. 5. Sith Inquisitor - The class that was modeled after Palpatine (shoot lightning as Sorc) and Maul (double bladed saber as Assassin.) This story has gotten better each time I play it. At first, I hated it. The story does feel like "Ghostbusters" In Space by having to track down force ghosts to gain power. Lots of backstabbing in this story too (but different than the backstabbing in the SW story.) Companions are meh, though. Don't like most of them. 6. Bounty Hunter - Chapter 1 of the story is the best with the Great Hunt and hunting down your bounties and rivals. But once Tarro Blood is gone (whether you kill him yourself or let him still be imprisoned on the ship about to be blown up,) it's all downhill. What I don't like about the story after that is "Why do I have to work for the Empire and can't be my own person?" It makes you feel like an errand boy for the Empire going around having to capture or kill who they say even though you may not agree with it. Mako is probably my 2nd favorite companion in the game after Kira. If playing as a female, Torian is okay as a romance companion but he's just a boring companion whether you romance him or not. It KOTET, 95% of the time, I choose to keep Vette alive over Torian, even if I'm playing it through as a Bounty Hunter. Even if one of my female BH characters is married to him, I usually let him die in favor of Vette. So, in conclusion, BH story is great through chapter 1 of vanilla story and goes down hill from there. Just becomes boring. My main raiding healing toon is a Merc (though, I do love healing as an operative, commando and scoundrel too.) 7. Trooper - Classic military story. Though, you do too much running around as an errand boy having to report back to General Garza at Coruscant HQs after just about every planet story mission. Elara Dorne is okay as a companion but she does eventually warm up to you if you are a male toon and are romancing her. If not, she's a skickler, by-the-book, military person (sergeant at first with the Republic after defecting from the Empire.) She doesn't know how to have fun. The NPC Jaxo, IMO, would've made a better romance companion than Elara, if Jaxo would've become one of the Trooper's companions instead of Elara. Playing as a female, romancing Aric Jorgan just feels weird unless you are a Cathar yourself (or if you are into beastiality.) The droid M1-4X has programming that makes him the typical loyal Soldier. He has some good lines throughout too. He always wants to do the heroic thing, regardless of any danger. Tano Vik is the rebel soldier, but he's great if you play as a Dark Side Trooper. Playing as a Light Side Trooper, Tano Vik will not get along with you. And for the last companion, Yuun, he's okay but is another soldier boy by doing the right things but with unique/unconventional ways of achieving the objectives. Trooper story is ranked this low because it is even more boring than the BH story and also having to be Garza's errand boy. 8. Jedi Consular - The most boring story of them all. Also, having to go around the galaxy to "heal" various people in the story feels kind of lame, especially if you are playing as a Jedi Shadow or Jedi Sage DPS. It only makes sense if you are a Jedi Sage Healer. LOL. The romance companion options aren't that great either. If playing as a male, you get Nadia Grell. But what makes her romance story bad is it feels creepy because even though you do meet her somewhat early in the story, she doesn't become an actual companion until much later in the game. In between of first meeting her and getting her as a companion, your character, if male, is more like a father figure/mentor to her. But once she becomes your companion, it does a 180 and you start romancing her, making you feel like you are some sort of perv (she's barely legal age and you were just her father figure/mentor.) And the romance is fast because there isn't much time left in the vanilla story, since you get her kind of late in the story with the romance feeling very rushed. If playing as a female, you get Lt. Irreso as a romance and he is the blandest, most boring companion in the entire game. Even the droid companions and beast companions in the game for other classes have more personality than he does. LOL The other Consular companions are unique. Qyzen is the Trandosian Warrior companion you first meet on the starter planet. Tharan Cedrax is the genius, eccentric, smug, pervert scientist who is more interested in his female hologram assisant (Holiday) than he is you. And Zenith is the the resistance fighter you meet on Balmorra (same voice actor as Theron Shan. So, once Theron Shan became popular as a companion in KOTFE/KOTET, Zenith went to the backburner. Zenith is the very last vanilla companion that is reunited with their original master during/after KOTFE/KOTET.
Controversial opinion: I rank Agent in my bottom 3 story lines. Knowing sith as well as I did going into SWTOR, I could call Jadus’s ruse out from the moment his ship blew up, which made the first act kind of shallow. And then they leaned so hard into the conspiracy to make it real when the reality is a better story for a top class agent would have just been to infiltrate the republic and crack them from the inside instead of pretending a shadow syndicate with no lore is the way to go. And then they do the worst of injustices in act two when they try to play the brainwashing card against the sith but then play the republic off as abusive to counteract any desire to defect since they all end up using you and throwing you away. I would only revise my position if they retroactively gave agents the option after chapter three to flee to wild space from the empire and make alliances with zakuul prior to arcanns invasion. Otherwise it’s a story that leaves me entirely uninvested in progression because I can’t serve either side of the war without feeling like a pawn in a meta perspective and a character one.
My personal problem with the sith inquisitor one is just that the first and last enemy that you hate is killing by another one. Even if you are the origin of Their death.
For me the best Empire story was indeed the Sith inquisitor and it was the first one I actually played. It was a great ride and actually allows you to (spoiler) kill your master and become a sith lord at the end of act one and watch your character grow in power afterwards. As for The Republic I'm going with the Smuggler. It's because it's a pirate thing that I think makes it so good. You're not he "chosen one" or anything of the sort you just want money, fame and power and they nail that I feel plus, the Smuggler is just funny as hell.
I remember there was a bug For the Sith warrior where you could romance both Jasash and Vett, I always thought that should get addressed in one of the expansions, not so much a bug fix as a couple of extra dialog options A if you have romanced one B for the other dialog C if you did both, obviously it would be a lot of lines because you might have turned one but not both to the darkside or both or neither, and while Dark and Light side Vett aren't all the different...
My favourite *story* is the SITH WARRIOR which has the best combination of character choice (you can be anything from a brutal thug through an honourable warrior poet/ronin-type figure to a full on lightsider in hiding with it making sense), companions (Vette and Blizz are both in my top 5 and Quinn and Jaesa are both very interesting), villain (Darth Baras is very memorable) and voice acting. However having said that my favourite *player character* is the SITH INQUISITOR. Fascinating background (a slave rising to the Dark Council), amazing dialogue (hilarious and sarcastic but still menacing and full of great lines) and my favourite voice acting in the game with the female VA (the male Inquisitor has a good voice too but the female version is IMO the best voice in the game.) All of the other stories have there good and bad points and I find something to enjoy in all of them. I suspect I'd have the IMPERIAL AGENT lower down my rankings than most though. I appreciate what it does but the companions aren't great (I hated Scorpio and found Vector horribly creepy) by the end of the story I felt like saying "a plague on both your houses" to the Republic and the Sith Empire.
Gotta dissagree For me the ranking would be: 8. Consular 7. Bounty Hunter 6. Smuggler 5. Jedi Knight 4. Trooper 3. Sith Inquisitor 2. Imperial Agent 1. Sith Warrior Would put agent first because the story is more flexible and your choice(s) have bigger impact, but i'm a sucker for dark side and Jaesa.
For me its 8. Soldier, 7. Schmuggler, 6. Bounty Hunter, 5. Jedi Consular, 4. Sith Inquisitor 3. Sith Warrior 2. Agent 1. Jedi Knight A bit different but so tastes are 😅
I respect the list but my list would be different lol 1. Jedi Knight (Best storyline with by far the most importance to the swtor universe. You recruit the former Emperors wrath you defeat the actual Emperor. Kira is one of the best romance options in the game you have great companions. This story is as close to Kotor 3 as were ever going to get) 2. Imperial Agent (Mystery and intrigue make a compelling story it shows how the agents are the true ones keeping the empire together in spite of all the crazy sith. There's twists and turns and even a chance to defect. Amazing story but I feel Jedi Knight is better and more significant to the overall swtor universe) 3. Sith Inquisitor (You actually get to dive into sith magic and ghosts there are some interesting story twists and you feel like you have a big destiny surrounding your character and feel truly like a main character in the swtor universe unlike the sith warrior who feels like a typical sith that rose to power. Only downside is your companion characters beside Khem are a little weak) 4. Sith Warrior (Pretty fun and interesting story with great companion characters like Jaessa, Vette, and Quinn. You get to do all the Sith things you want like kill your master turn a Jedi to the dark side, become the Emperors Darth Vader the only reason its not higher is the stories above it are simply better) 5. Smuggler (It's a fun and hilarious story with fun companion characters like Rishi and Bowdar and you get to live out the ultimate smuggler's dream however the story is a little too goofy and not compelling enough to put it any higher than this spot) 6. Bounty Hunter (While you do get some fun companion characters like Blizz and Mako your basically just a merc the story is better than the two below it but it's not amazing either) 7. Trooper (I liked the first story arc and Jorigan and Elara are cool but then it just falls apart and becomes forgettable) 8. Jedi Counselor (This story is just kind of boring and forgettable though I do love Nadia's character)
If I had to rank them personally, I would have to go, from worst to best: Jedi Consular - it felt so bland and uninteresting, chapter 2 with the Rift Alliance was the highlight of it for me. It's companions didn't do much to keep me interested, except for Qyzen Fess. Trooper - This was so hard to get into at first since it starts so slow and I found it hard to keep me interested enough to keep going. Elara was interesting since she is a defector, which is funny because of chapter 1 of the Trooper storyline has you hunting down defectors. Smuggler - The only thing I really enjoyed from playing through as a smuggler was the snarky one liners and Risha, there is not much that sticks out in my mind from the story that made me want to go back and play it again. Jedi Knight - It felt like the generic hero storyline, although, chapter 3 was really well done in the way your previous choices came back. Bounty Hunter - I thoroughly enjoyed playing as a light side bounty hunter, it felt like I was playing as Mira from kotor 2. Someone who hunted their targets, but maintained a level of honor and self restraint. And then there is the major downside to the bounty hunter to me: Skadge, he felt so tacked on and out of place, that is took me out of the immersion, I don't think I have met a single person who actually liked him. Like, why do I want this brutish psychopath on my team? Sith Warrior - Both light side and dark side were done well here so it gave you vastly different storylines at parts, as interesting as it was to convert Jaesa, I felt it hurt her character overall, I found her much more interesting on the light path. Imperial Agent - I know it is sacriledge, but I cannot put the agent over the Inquisitor. I enjoyed both, I even liked the surprise twist at the end of the agent storyline (which I will not spoil for those interested in checking it out for yourself). Chapter 1 was a little slow, but as I went through, I found myself more and more immersed in it. It is hard to go into detail why this is so good without going into major spoilers. The companions for the agent felt really well done and were interesting enough to keep me invested (except for maybe Vector). Sith Inquisitor - Like with the agent, I found myself invested in the story of the Inquisitor from start to finish, both as DS and LS which led me to ranking it higher than the agent. The various outcomes were so interesting and kept me thinking "what if" as I played through one alignment. I felt like they could have used Andronikos better since he was just kind of there. The way they interweaved Khem Val into the Sith Inquisitor's overall story was so nicely done, and even Talos Drellik felt like he belonged with the Inquisitor as a member of the Imperial Reclamation Service. They definitely could have done a Jaesa like scenario with Ashara and it would have been better. Overall, while I main the Republic side, I felt like the Imperial storylines were better made so you could play Light or Dark better, on the Republic side, really only the Trooper would make that viable since as a Jedi you are just kind of expected to take the Light choices, the Smuggler LS vs DS choices felt weird to me.
Consular is made a Master in front of the Supreme Chancellor, makes Balmorra a Republic world and delivers armies to the final battle of the core worlds Corellia. The bounty Hunter can choose to become a Mandolorian and kills the Supreme Chancellor, just saying. You talked about story and choices not feeling impactful, but I'd argue the consular pulls ahead here.
My list is pretty similar. I would put Knight below Agent, moving the others down one place. And I would swap Consular and Smuggler. Consular is a bit more interesting and has cooler twists.
Personally so far i gotta say Vette was my favorite companion to romance. Yes you gotta take a lot of light side choices or just use Vaesa and spam Vette a lot of gifts but my god... Vette is best waifu by far. She's cute, funny, awkard sometimes but so wholesome.. i could be the most evil mofo sith out there and still fall for her she's just the best. And second place for me has to be none other than Lana. Her dark humor from time to time really cracks me up and she's one hell of a strong Sith in her own right. Would make some strong Sith babies with her if that would have been a thing lmao.
Mine : 1: the sith inquisitor Male Its just perfect everything about it just makes me wanna play it over and over again 2:the knight Female Its the closest thing we got to kotor 3 3:the warrior Male (Vette romance) Unlimited POWAAAAAH 4:imperial agent female I feel like james bond i just love it 5:the smuggler male Flirt button goes brrr 6:the republic trooper male Play it dark side ull have the time of ur life, Traitors die u happy 7: the bounty hunter female Honor 8:the jedi consular female Ur casual jedi that dies in the background
Damn it I messed up the Bounty Hunter Title.. I know it’s says “Bount Hunter” fuuuck meeee
Sith Warrior didn't sit on the dark council.
you would think if you were an expert about this game, you would know that
Really? I didn't notice
I almost agree with your ranking and your reasons for them however there are a few i don't agree with. here's my ranking from worst to best and why:
*8. Jedi Consualer* : Boring story, forgettable companions, annoying voices and just forgettable. Played 3-4 times still can't remember what happens or just don't care.
*7. Smuggler* : Good oneliners a few good compainons, but overall forgettable story, and the voice acting is just meh
Love it
*1 Imp Agent* : What can i say, best story in a Star Wars game since KOTOR. Awesome and fun companions, great voice acting (doing different accents), Amazing amazing amazing.
LFG🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Correction for Sith Warrior, you do not become a dark council member. You become emperor's wrath, that means you are operating outside of dark council.
My personal list would be like this
8-Bounty Hunter (It bored me to the bone and I really forget what happened in the story line of this class)
7-Trooper (Basic forward military life simulator missions with basic CoD companions and plot)
6-Smuggler (Just Swtor sitcom and nothing else)
5-Jedi Consular (Storyline might be boring from time to time but it had moments that makes you remember it dispite the storyline)
4-Sith Inquisitor (You are much more alligned with Ancient Sİth knowledge and Sith struggle)
3- Imperial Agent (Swtor starts to shine with this storyline, you see how Empire is struggling without its agents operating behind sith)
2-Sith Warrior (It has an interesting storyline and it has funny moments as well)
1-Jedi Knight (Just Kotor continuation)
The best romance is Lana Beniko overall in the game.
Not outside, but with Council
We should have converted more. But they just made her a cliche mustache twirling villain. She’s a try hard teen trying to impress her boyfriend
YES--
DAMMIT I am doing DS Inqui
It s always quite fun, playing "wrong", same with doing bad stuff as a jedi. Love it
My Darth imperius went light side on Korriban to piss off Overseer Harken and found success with it...
Except that the execution is pretty bad. There is a reason the inquisitor is commonly reffered to as "Darth Bean".
Either that or the Jedi knight, cause the whole fought and "killed" the Sith emperor.
@@kadirr8974 I think it was mentioned that when you underwent the carbon freezing Valkorion had essentially pushed them out.
"Not special" Uhh... we're the grandchild of a very prominent Sith Lord
IKR!? They're relationship is why better than it had any right being.
Yeah that’s why I play a sith. To be wholesome. Imagine playing a sith and not making Oscar derwilinger look like mr rogers
@@jaffarebellion292 that’s lame. I’d rather just be like Oscar derwilinger
I enjoyed it. I don't remember it much as it was a long time ago but I did enjoy the story
Totally agree! I really felt immersed as a Jedi and I loved how as the story progressed *SPOILER AHEAD* you move up in the ranks in the Jedi Order. Barsenthor > Hero of the Republic
Whenever Jedi Consular become sarcastic and full of sass, it will immediately go up my list
Especially the *"if you love the force so much, Prepare to become one with it"*
i am currently playing a DS consuler to spice things up a bit and she shoots lightning cause otherwise its a bit slow
I’ll get to it!

Like the sith inq, if you’re an alien, is changing the views of other aliens and how they SHOULD be viewed.
to me it's:
8 - counsler
7 - trooper (felt like there was no story to tell after the first chapter)
6 - bounty hunter (felt like there was no story to tell after the first chapter but the first chapter was awesome)
5 - smuggler (felt like there was no story to tell after the first chapter, but the voice actress did so much justice with the character that it felt like an actual tv show with lots of fun fillers)
4 - knight ,the knight is the main story, the reason this game even came out, the "justification" for not doing kotor 3, and it felt like i got the answers they are "owed", even if it was MEH
3 - warrior, the warrior you feel like the world belongs to you, sometimes stupidly, but most of the time, you are that badass op savage monster that just waltz in and everyone bows, it's fun
2 - i.e, the imperial agent felt like someone actually cared for this story, there were very few moments i felt like "this planet was boring" and overall, a great experience
1 - inquisitor, zash made the story AMAZING!!! litteraly, zash is my main character of swtor inquisitor storyline, i don't understand how people miss that, she was incredible ally/enemy, even as an enemy, it felt like she was our step mother/sister that care about even if she just uses us and "manipulates" us. i wanted zash to be like a main companion, it felt like she carried the plot
She should be even grateful that we killed her bc Kallig wouldnt have saved her probably from Thanaton (Because he would have sensed that the SI is dead and the body belongs to Zash now) and Zash would be laying dead in the Dark Temple :D
Its just a shame that they dont do anything with her if you give her Khems body.

Shadow was my main at release and the consular story drove me to hit space bar like it was my step son on All classes... Now that I've gotten back into the game I'm playing through all the incredible stories 10 years later... and I'm kinda thankful consular saved these for me when I was more mature lol

@@lThellRockldialogue. It’s funny how smuggler dialogue makes a mid story fun but the terrible consular dialogue makes a great story mid.
Speaking as someone who only started playing last weekend I am like 5 planets into the Jedi guardian story.
I really, really enjoy it so far. Such a different experience from WoW.
Sith Inqui here! Have to say, 26 hours in just to 3 planes is a GREAT thing to me. But I can't stop playing this game, too fun.
There is no guardian story. Do you mean knight?
I personally love the commando storyline it was simple but straight to the point and it felt like I was a commando
Commando is an advanced class. Do you mean trooper?
The inquisitor will always be number 1 to me the storys So Good i always romance lana beniko myself
If I had to rank them, it would be like this:
Good points for all of them :) I rank them by significance to the overarching storylines which tend to involve the emperor
Bounty Hunter and Smuggler have little to no consequence for the Emperor and his power plays
Trooper and Agent are slightly more involved if only for their alliegances
Inquisitor and Consular are force based so kind of but not really
Knight and Warrior are the only ones who directly interface with the Emperor, so the conflict feels much more personal
I don’t give a damn what Disney says, this is canon.
Say it louder for the people in the back! 🔥
its really hard for me to choose between all 8 SWTOR stories but i really enjoyed them all but my top 4 in no particular order is
Agent (Best ship and great story)
Consular ( you dont need constant Action for a good story i find it enjoyable)
Smuggler ( its just alot of fun)
Inquisitor (very enjoyable story)
my three most played Stories are JC, SI & IA
Smuggler was my first Story
i can agree with you since played since 2013 I totally like this line up mine would be Bounty hunter, Sith inquisitor, Imperial Agent
I actually liked the jedi counsler story line it was bland at times but overall pretty fun and things started to kick into hyperdrive when chapter 2 of the story begun first you just start as a mere padwan but as the story progresses you turn into the warden of the republic and a jedi master even eventually you take your seat at the jedi counsel i might be a bit baised cause that was my first class but i stand with my opinion and belive jedi counsler is has a good maybe even great cause it does get slow from time to time but i still love it
I agree cus I judge the classes on if they fulfill the class fantasy. Counselor did that, so it was fine.
@@hackintosh3899 thats also true
@@hackintosh3899 completely agree. This is what I pictured the class to be.
Honestly i for a very long time thought Consular was the most boring one, but that is cuz i just never found myself the time to finish his story. Until one day where i finally did, and honestly, it was just chapter 1 that was pretty boring to me, but the rest was actually kinda fun.
Let’s be real none of the stories are bad it’s just that if you rank them. Unfortunately, that’s where they land.
I would argue that there are better stories in Star Wars games than the imperial agent one (kotor comes to mind) but for swtor it’s the goat. Personally love the bounty Hunter a lot too, it just feels so liberating, not being inherently constrained to one faction
What makes Agent's story great is that it's a story about non Force user living in a world controlled by Force users.
Jedi Counselor sounds like a rough job. Annie always whining about his mommy and his feelings.
I'm totally bias, Sith Warrior is my number 1 for me. The only class I completed twice. The Imperial Agent is # 2 for me.
Also would like to point out that for the BH you dont have to become a Mandolorian, you can just choose to be a cold-blooded hitman for profit
Agent would have been perfect if it had the more charming companions of Bounty Hunter.
@@mattcoyle1620 agreed
Gault is my favorite companion in this game.

I must've played Imperial Agent storyline 10+ times, I have a stockpile of snipers in my roster that I always put off deleting lol... interesting to think about whether the IA storyline had any influence on the writers or tone of the mature/darker Andor tv show storywriting
btw, a very interesting article about its writing:
*The Imperial Agent, Inspiration, and Science-Fiction Espionage (Part 1) | Alexander M. Freed*
I think having a romance with Khaliyo is underrated, while extreme she's a very invigorating character (especially compared to some blander companions)... and, I remember thinking it was a neat payoff when in the later expansion she turned out to be Firebrand, it was almost like Imperial Agent was the actual main longterm storyline
my memory is too rusty to really come up with a story rank list, but: Counselor and Trooper were the most boring, the fanatical enthusiasm for Sith Warrior was always confusing, my playing Smuggler as a female Han Solo probably helped with its enjoyment... Sith Inquisitor was definitely aided by Khem Val's character, "I have an excellent Sabacc face. That was a joke, I hate Sabacc."
Companion Appearance Customizations also actually made a difference, wonder if being able to use your favorite face from any class companion with any other one would've been good or bad (they've made pretty much every other cosmetic swappable)
My main is a light side SW, and I have to say that was easily the best LS run I've had. I played each class light and dark (I have way too many hours in this game lol). Dark side smuggler and Knight were also fantastic, as was light side inquisitor. Maybe I'm just being a hipster though 😅
I like the agent too, I think its equally good no matter what alignment you are.
My two favs are the Sith Warrior and the Imp Agent. I also like the BH story, especially during SoR expansion.
My list (and some brief reasoning):
I let my little brother choose a class and a species. He chose a red zabrak jedi knight assassin. So I named him Notam Aul, because he is not a Maul.
Agent and Inquisitor are also amazing, they really go in depth on what their classes really are about
My order goes
1. Jedi knight
2. Sith inquisitor
3. Sith warrior
4. Imperial agent
5. Republic trooper
6. Bounty hunter
7. Jedi councillor
8. Smuggler
personally:
1)inquisitor
2)Warrior
3)Agent
4)Trooper
5)Smuggler (DS)
6)knight(neutral/ leaning DS)
7)Consular(DS)
8)BH(DS) I really like act 3, but it is a pain getting there.
Ha! A fellow smuggler enjoyer, I guess I'm not alone in this galaxy far, far away after all
My number one was the Bounty Hunter story line.
Sith Warrior and Jedi Knight were my two favorites for doing Fallen Empire and beyond. Bounty Hunters dialogue was pretty hilarious though.
After playing only imperial for a few years, I made the a smuggler, and fell in love with him. He has been my main ever since.
Counter:
8. Consular
7. Smug
Reason: they’re just mediocre, something has to be at the bottom of the barrel. Qyzen and Smug’s companions are awesome and would fit on any other characters story.
6. Trooper
5. BH
4. Knight
Reason: they fit in the middle of the group because they are what you expect them to be.
Trooper is basically Mass Effect Commander Sheppard.
I hope you enjoy all class stories!!!!
Game: Heal the masters with your new ability.
Me as JC: I just use my lightsaber
First I want to say I enjoyed every class story. I like how different they are and I have played each class over 4 times.
This is my list. I am truly surprised by how high you place the Bounty Hunter. I love the class but the story is weak.
Yes, the great hunt is cool. then after that, the story just dies for me. You just become a lackey of the Imperials.
Smuggler is very similar but instead, you just become tricked to work for the enemy making you feel like a fool.
I wish the Bounty Hunter and Smuggler would have stayed more neutral. More about working for themselves.
1, Imperial Agent
2, Sith Warrior
3, Jedi Knight
4, Sith Inquisitor
5, Trooper
6, Smuggler
7, Bounty Hunter
8, Jedi Consular
Part of the fun of the Smuggler story is becoming a crime lord! I never go nice guy hero type as the smuggler. I always become the boss of bosses
And here is the actual list.
6, 7, 8 Consular, Smuggler and Trooper Could be swapped in or out.
5. Bounty Hunter.
4. Knight.
3 and 2 could be swapped, Warrior and Inquisitor.
1 Agent.
Inquisitor was always my favourite: the deception, the heart, the ascension - just love it!
I enjoyed every story but i few ideas why it feels Republic fall flat :
1) The people you help / betray you are stangers
(consular don't have time to care & feel connected to his master you end-up helping her for Qyzen)
(you never bonded with havoc squad before betrayal as a soldier.)
(I didn't care to take back a ship i never flight with as Smuggler)
Jedi knight is ok
2) You don't feel presure or urge to act as on the Sith side.
3) Narration allow more grey character on the sith side republic "feels too judgy" and you have really cut personnality
-Soldier shiny boring mr perfect/war criminal it feels there is no in between
-Consular the old cary nanny/the emotionless droid
-Smuggler the i'm awsome helper, protector or the orphan & widows/ the jester, lover of anyone in the galaxy / the space pirate asshole.
-Jedi knight is a cliche of the jedi or the fallen jedi
Some part ar really nice but brush the theme quickly and compare to the Sith no decision seem to come bite you later down the story.
lightside decision never have dire outcome... and in the end it feel too smooth too good to be true.
In my head knight/warrior are the main because their stories revolve around the emperor which comes in to play after the main story
I ranked:
8) The Jedi Consular- Pros you can follow the expected path, but the dark teachings of Tython provide a rationale for you to create a Palpatine under the nose of the Academy.
Honorable mention: Mako (Vette, but childish and can't shut her mouth)
3) The Sith Warrior- Pros: Escapes the twirling mustache villain trope.
Because of the fact you literally eat ghosts i say my sith inquisitor is and I quote: “Evil Pacman”
I’m not too surprised about consular I know it’s not too popular but it does have some nuances with being a warrior and diplomat so that’s kind of nice
My list would be
8 - Trooper
7 - Smuggler
6 - Consular
5 - Warrior
4 - Hunter
3 - Knight
2 - Inquisitor
1 - Agent
But honestly, I've played off and on since beta, and I find something to love about all the classes. Republic classes really got screwed on the romance sub-plots though, christ they're all either undercooked or just plain terrible
How dare you, Andronikos has the most romantic line in the whole game, physically together or apart, you're always in each others' orbits till the stars go dark.
Malavai is like my chemistry classes in college and that's because of the content.
4:49 "The Greater Good"
My choices right now are Sith warrior (the only reason I’ll play it is for Jaesa), Bounty Hunter (only reason is for Mako), Sith inquisitor, and Imperial Agent. Last two don’t have good romance options but are probably better than the first two.
I've played Consular, Inquisitor, Smuggler, and Agent and Agent ranks far above as the best storyline of the four and the other 4 will have to be pretty good to top it.
Depending on the choices you make, the bounty hunter story has the funniest dialogue by a mile.
My rankings (first to last):
My main raiding healing toon is a Merc (though, I do love healing as an operative, commando and scoundrel too.)
Jedis stories are kinda boring for me. It's be goody good boy or asshole.
You failed to mention how Khem is the best companion.
Fascinating background (a slave rising to the Dark Council), amazing dialogue (hilarious and sarcastic but still menacing and full of great lines) and my favourite voice acting in the game with the female VA (the male Inquisitor has a good voice too but the female version is IMO the best voice in the game.)
All of the other stories have there good and bad points and I find something to enjoy in all of them.
They tried to give Republic Commando vibes to the Trooper story
I don’t remember having to go to the senate tower and attend any hearings in republic commando
imperial agent is also my all time favourite.. after that is bounty hunter and 10 places empty and than jedi knight.
Gotta dissagree
For me the ranking would be:
8. Consular
7. Bounty Hunter
6. Smuggler
5. Jedi Knight
4. Trooper
3. Sith Inquisitor
2. Imperial Agent
1. Sith Warrior
Would put agent first because the story is more flexible and your choice(s) have bigger impact, but i'm a sucker for dark side and Jaesa.
For me its 8. Soldier, 7. Schmuggler, 6. Bounty Hunter, 5. Jedi Consular, 4. Sith Inquisitor 3. Sith Warrior 2. Agent 1. Jedi Knight
A bit different but so tastes are 😅
I respect the list but my list would be different lol
1. Jedi Knight (Best storyline with by far the most importance to the swtor universe. You recruit the former Emperors wrath you defeat the actual Emperor. Kira is one of the best romance options in the game you have great companions. This story is as close to Kotor 3 as were ever going to get)
2. Imperial Agent (Mystery and intrigue make a compelling story it shows how the agents are the true ones keeping the empire together in spite of all the crazy sith. There's twists and turns and even a chance to defect. Amazing story but I feel Jedi Knight is better and more significant to the overall swtor universe)
3. Sith Inquisitor (You actually get to dive into sith magic and ghosts there are some interesting story twists and you feel like you have a big destiny surrounding your character and feel truly like a main character in the swtor universe unlike the sith warrior who feels like a typical sith that rose to power. Only downside is your companion characters beside Khem are a little weak)
4. Sith Warrior (Pretty fun and interesting story with great companion characters like Jaessa, Vette, and Quinn. You get to do all the Sith things you want like kill your master turn a Jedi to the dark side, become the Emperors Darth Vader the only reason its not higher is the stories above it are simply better)
5. Smuggler (It's a fun and hilarious story with fun companion characters like Rishi and Bowdar and you get to live out the ultimate smuggler's dream however the story is a little too goofy and not compelling enough to put it any higher than this spot)
6. Bounty Hunter (While you do get some fun companion characters like Blizz and Mako your basically just a merc the story is better than the two below it but it's not amazing either)
7. Trooper (I liked the first story arc and Jorigan and Elara are cool but then it just falls apart and becomes forgettable)
8. Jedi Counselor (This story is just kind of boring and forgettable though I do love Nadia's character)
Inquisitor isn't just a good story, but the lines are funny as hell especially if you play fem inquisitor.
If I had to rank them personally, I would have to go, from worst to best:
Jedi Consular - it felt so bland and uninteresting, chapter 2 with the Rift Alliance was the highlight of it for me.
I like that top 3? Are all Sith classes. And I too love the Sith Classes
The Smuggler not being last is a travesty lol.
Counselor is way worse 😂
@NoblePlays Only reason why I rank Consular higher than Smuggler is because you can fling boulders as Consular lol.
The consular’s plan would’ve doomed the galaxy had the agent and/or knight not succeeded
My list is pretty similar. I would put Knight below Agent, moving the others down one place. And I would swap Consular and Smuggler. Consular is a bit more interesting and has cooler twists.
I really enjoyed the consular story, but it has a whole different vibe going full dark side during it lol
To me is:
1 Inquisitor
2 Agent
3 Warrior
4 Knight
5 Bounty Hunter
6 Smuggler
7 Consular
8 Trooper
Personally so far i gotta say Vette was my favorite companion to romance. Yes you gotta take a lot of light side choices or just use Vaesa and spam Vette a lot of gifts but my god... Vette is best waifu by far. She's cute, funny, awkard sometimes but so wholesome.. i could be the most evil mofo sith out there and still fall for her she's just the best. And second place for me has to be none other than Lana. Her dark humor from time to time really cracks me up and she's one hell of a strong Sith in her own right. Would make some strong Sith babies with her if that would have been a thing lmao.
