Lightsaber design and animation greatness. A corner stone of SWTOR. I never used any of these lightsabers (mostly because I'm a Free-to-Play Player) but they look so amazing.
I used to play this game and the lightsaber a Jedi knight first makes, though simple, is the one I keep finding myself admiring in one way or another. Great video.
I'm always excited when there's new swtor items being developed. the designs on the robes/armour and lightsabers always show of the creators imagination.

Unstable Peacemaker, both single and dual, also have a vent on the hilt. When drawn or holstered, it radiates, the color of your crystal, which is very cool with double and triple colored crystals. One of my fave.
Two other lightsabers worth mentioning are the reputation weapons, Valor and Intrepidity. These sabers are not visible when looking in their general categories in your Collection, but they are in the Collection tracker and can be unlocked for your character and family. one of the Starforged Lightsabers has this unique animation: where the top of the hilt spins when you draw it. It was my first or second buy from the GTN, other being Dauntless avenger's saber, which has a crossguard-shaped hilt, like the type I draw so much

My favorite is still the Valorous Jedi Sovereign's lightsaber. It's easily obtained via an early/mid game quest, a story line quest iirc, but it has three things that set it apart. One, it has a very simple and modest design that fits perfectly with my Obi-Wan and Ven Zallow inspired Knight. Two, it's actually proportionate in size to the character since it predates the update that made every future bloody hilt a massive two-hander thanks to folks whining early on that they couldn't see their sabers well enough(I seriously hate how damn massive hilts became in this game). And three, it has a unique, muted sound when drawn that I've never heard on ANY other saber hilt in the game, somewhere between a "pew" and a "whoosh". It's subtle but distinct making it even more fitting for a humble Jedi character. I'm an OG early access CE holding player and to this day i use it exclusively on my knight. Its only flaw is that due to how old it is it has no, nor can it obtain, a tuning slot which is a damn shame.
Nothing animated or too flashy, but Thexan's Lightsaber is one of the best-looking I think. It's ornately-carved, with overlapping pieces, but understated. Just a beautifully-crafted saber hilt, kind of like Satele's. :)
My inquisitor is using the Acolyte's Lightsaber from the supplies vendor in the fleet. I love the quiet hum the lightsaber makes whenever you activate it and its rather simplistic design.
I've been using volatile conquerors saber since they came out. I loved the animation. I have also added weapons tuning but I can't remember...lightning or volatile because I love the flash! After seeing the executioner's maw, I now need to see if I have that unlocked. That's a really cool saber!
Agreed.. in fact, just said the same thing a day later. lol Although I prefer the orange (my sentinel uses black-purple and black-orange simultaneously).

Also, your reference to Tau reminds me of one of the Jedi in the Jedi strike force that pursued Darth Bane and his apprentice to Tyhon in "The Rule of Two." The strike force consisted of Jedi-Valenthyne Farfalla, Johun Othone, Raskta Lsu, Sarro Xaj, and Worror Dowmat. Raskta Lsu's entire Jedi career was spent honing her martial skills exclusively, and with time her mastery of the lightsaber was such that many considered her peerless in its application. Lsu was so renowned for her battle skills that she was granted the vaunted title of Weapons Master of the Jedi Order. However, Sarro Xaj matches the stature you noted regarding Tau.
I felt shocked, offended and personally attacked when NONE of the three best sabers were included. I am, of course, talking about Baras' OG saber, Kallig's old lightsaber, and the Naga Sadow one. 10/10 video, would watch again
Had to refresh my memory since I'm a filthy casual in it for the Hord-era assholes like Aloysius and Ergast, and it turns out there are a TON of lightsabers that share the main characteristics of Baras' old saber (the fang, the metallic hilt, the bright red button and the Isengard-esque emitter shroud). Unfortunately, the site I used to skim through the many options available seemed to be both a bit out of date, and didn't feature any animations, but some examples are: Improved Force-Master's/Mystic's Lightsaber, Improved Vindicator's/War Leader's Lightsaber, (world drop) Niman Master's Primary/Secondary Lightsaber, Defender's Mettle (crafteable) A bunch of variants (war leader(vindicator and so on) are rewards on Oricon and Makeb, Arkanian Force-Master/Mystic's Lightsaber is available via the Operations PvE Vendor... I hope you find a version that suits you!
I like how the Executioner's Maw and Dark Honorguard's Unstable Lightsaber have those up swept guards like a claymore. Look like the Sabers a Witcher would use.
Both my Sith Warrior and Sith Inquisitor have the Revanite Mark II Sabers. While they don't have any fun special effects, they're really ornate like Satille's. The red, black, and gold work really well and it's got like Sith runic symbols on it! It's a beautiful saber!They're Tier One Command Crates or you can get them on the GTN for a pretty cheap amount of credits. Not hard to acquire.
Descendant's heirloom does have visual effects. Exposed rotating crystal at the bottom of the hilt (identical to serenity unsealed lighsaber). And a glowing bit at the base of the blade (a few lightsabers have that as well. It's not nearly as intence as over-tuned derelict but it is still there). So in my opinion Heirloom deserves a place above regular exposed/unsealed sabers as it combines unique and distinct hilt with exposed/unsealed effect.
Great video Swtorista! I liked the laugh in the middle lol. Now I'm using the Eternal Champion saber and another one due to... character lore if you will. Also, trying out different cool looking sabers that are sort of unique and also have cool sounds when drawing. Despite this, I've run the "Dauntless" saber. I loved it for my BT2 Female Marauder for several reasons. The design on itself is quite decent. But then also it was sort of "thin" on the hilt, without losing any thickness to the laser blade itself (I don't like thin blades). And on top of that, this saber also has a red hilt by default AND it also glows red. So for my Marauder it was quite fitting having red crystals on it.
So outrageous I laughed out loud when I got to it when recording video... then started laughing again when recording the audio while looking at the video. I often pick my sabers based on character lore too.
As an ex player I'm very happy to see these sabers and to see some of my old sabers are on your list. I still like to keep tabs on this game in hopes of returning one day. Thanks great job and you just earned yourself a sub keep doing what you do 👍👍😁
Personal favourite is Unstable Peacemaker's Lightsaber (prefferably with a White-Black crystal) you should also check Tau's with a black purple crystal

Ive rlly got into the sith marauder class recently and am rlly happy, but looking for new sabers apart from the ones i get from the heroic quests as they are quite boring. My Top 5: (not in fav order tho, too many choices XD) 1: Retributions exposed 2: Tulak Hord 3: (new) unshielded saber 4. Twisted fang 5. Darth Malgus (damaged)
Great looking character and outfit! The Unstable Lightsaber and the Tulak Hord Lightsabers actually have a nice Darksaber effect if you put a White and Black saber crystal in them. Same for the Dark Honor Guard's Unstable Saber.
Most of the new armors haven't impressed me, but those lightsabers... Dang! Im rocking the unrelenting aggressor on most of my characters cuz I got it for cheap and it's dope! Not nearly as flashy as these ones.
My Jedi Shadow has the Saberstaff version of the Vengeance Unsealed if I'm remembering correctly (man, I need to play again, it's been a little while). I love it
Malgus' lightsaber, for me, has always had one of the coolest and most threatening hilt designs. It's not over the top like some of the later CM hilts, but it sticks out just enough because of how awesome the guard is. Sadly, most of the Cartel Market saber hilts are incredibly oversized. Especially the ones that are supposed to be replicas of the ones from the movies. Mace Windu's hilt, Obi Wan's, etc...
Love the unstable series, Tau's saber and of course the executioner... They are all so good :o Anyway good job you really did a bunch of research keep up the good work !

There is a lightsaber with a hilt similar to Obi-Wan's. My Knight is using it. I believe it's called the Blademaster's Lightsaber. It's probably in the cartel market or GTN
there is plenty of similar ones.... and u just pretend xD For example as an swtor cosplayer (in game, not RL hehehe) i usually find sabers that r closest to movies bcz there is so many u can choose.... Obi, luke, vader..... no problem on finding correct one ^^
Amazing vid Swtorisa, those hilts are really cool! I've looked into tunings but was always turned way by how much they cost. I really like Malgus' lightsaber, my Sentinel uses two of those.
I can't buy any of the expensive ones, but I did the last two Gree events with all my chars almost every day just to get the rep and buy that lightsaber for my JK, it's really cool. Now I'm saving for the saberstaff for my consular.
The game dropped at the beginning of the console generation and hasn’t seen dramatic engine upgrades as I would personally enjoy. If it came out in 2016 for example, I probably wouldn’t be saying this because gaming engines took a big leap during that time between Swtor beta and even when dragon age inquisition came out.
The thing that makes a lightsaber the best for me, is the different ignition sounds rather than it sounding like the base cookie cutter sound. Hence why the Tempted Apprentice saber is my favorite.
You want something good? Take the Executioner's Maw, and put in the Black-Red color crystal. The red outside and black inside looks great, and the "eye" in the center of the jaws changes to a demonic scarlet, like a damn dragon! The teeth also glow that black/red combo, and it looks fire. Even better when it makes that snarl when it is unsheathed and the jaws open up and those black/red blades are opened wide to cause some mayhem

I always like the original lightsaber you earn in the game. It looks plain and simple haha. I always modified it over and over again

For me one of most beatifull lightsabers is this one we created in ,,Fallen empire" dlc. Common but nice for me.
I haven't gotten there on my Jedi yet, my Trooper's rifle was very odd looking and I never equipped it :P
My favorite ones are Defiant Vented, Unstable Dark Honor Guard & Tikal Hord Lightsaber.

the Devastator's double-bladed lightsaber is my all-time favourite.

What most people call a Claymore isn't actually a Claymore, Claymore's are a different sword altogether
Clamores are larger, larger hilts, larger blades

Even though it is an old ranked reward, the furious saber will always be the best looking saber ever.

As an ex player I'm very happy to see these sabers and to see some of my old sabers are on your list. I still like to keep tabs on this game in hopes of returning one day. Thanks great job and you just earned yourself a sub keep doing what you do 👍👍😁

Personal favourite is Unstable Peacemaker's Lightsaber (prefferably with a White-Black crystal)
you should also check Tau's with a black purple crystal
I like the elite war hero vindicator saber the best. And i love that the derelict can be purchased IRL now!

Ive rlly got into the sith marauder class recently and am rlly happy, but looking for new sabers apart from the ones i get from the heroic quests as they are quite boring.
My Top 5: (not in fav order tho, too many choices XD)
1: Retributions exposed
2: Tulak Hord
3: (new) unshielded saber
4. Twisted fang
5. Darth Malgus (damaged)
I just got the Twisted Fang in a crate and can't decide to use it or sell it lol. It looks badass but the 50mil it goes for can go a long way!

Great looking character and outfit! The Unstable Lightsaber and the Tulak Hord Lightsabers actually have a nice Darksaber effect if you put a White and Black saber crystal in them. Same for the Dark Honor Guard's Unstable Saber.
That sounds like it would look wicked!
Most of the new armors haven't impressed me, but those lightsabers... Dang!
Im rocking the unrelenting aggressor on most of my characters cuz I got it for cheap and it's dope! Not nearly as flashy as these ones.
My Jedi Shadow has the Saberstaff version of the Vengeance Unsealed if I'm remembering correctly (man, I need to play again, it's been a little while). I love it

Unstable peacemaker has been my favourite saber since it came out and I have no idea why
gray helix is the best. The blade itself on a gray helix saber is longer than any other in game
and its bound to legacy... 10/10
Malgus' lightsaber, for me, has always had one of the coolest and most threatening hilt designs. It's not over the top like some of the later CM hilts, but it sticks out just enough because of how awesome the guard is.
Sadly, most of the Cartel Market saber hilts are incredibly oversized. Especially the ones that are supposed to be replicas of the ones from the movies. Mace Windu's hilt, Obi Wan's, etc...
Half those sabers i didn't know existed. Well goodbye credits lol
Grey Helix lightsaber is still my fave--nice long blade.
Even though it isn't lore friendly it would be so cool to wield Qui-Gon's lightsaber in game, it's my favourite lightsaber of all time

There is a lightsaber with a hilt similar to Obi-Wan's. My Knight is using it. I believe it's called the Blademaster's Lightsaber. It's probably in the cartel market or GTN

Amazing vid Swtorisa, those hilts are really cool! I've looked into tunings but was always turned way by how much they cost. I really like Malgus' lightsaber, my Sentinel uses two of those.
I'm surprised you didn't show one of the coolest looking weapons in the game, the Blademaster's Attenuated Lightsaber/Saberstaff.
I can't buy any of the expensive ones, but I did the last two Gree events with all my chars almost every day just to get the rep and buy that lightsaber for my JK, it's really cool. Now I'm saving for the saberstaff for my consular.

The game dropped at the beginning of the console generation and hasn’t seen dramatic engine upgrades as I would personally enjoy. If it came out in 2016 for example, I probably wouldn’t be saying this because gaming engines took a big leap during that time between Swtor beta and even when dragon age inquisition came out.
Great video SWTORISTA, I've never swung a lightsaber before but I would like to try. So many different lightsabers to choose from.

I think the reckoning's exposed lightsaber is the first I bought a few year ago and I still use it on most of my sith.
The thing that makes a lightsaber the best for me, is the different ignition sounds rather than it sounding like the base cookie cutter sound.
Hence why the Tempted Apprentice saber is my favorite.

You want something good? Take the Executioner's Maw, and put in the Black-Red color crystal. The red outside and black inside looks great, and the "eye" in the center of the jaws changes to a demonic scarlet, like a damn dragon! The teeth also glow that black/red combo, and it looks fire. Even better when it makes that snarl when it is unsheathed and the jaws open up and those black/red blades are opened wide to cause some mayhem
