This white kid down the street from me back in the 80’s always played this rock band from his car , house , radio boom box , so I asked him who was it , he said LED ZEPPELIN DUDE . The rest is history I’ve been hooked ever since .a lot of their music is sample by rap group is what really got my attention .
Bonzo's beat from When The Levee Breaks has been heavily sampled and it is a very genius beat, He was the one who created greatness and they can only marvel in Bonzo's greatness - R I P John we miss you Sir.
I remember being about 13 or 14 when my friend burned me a copy of Zoso which got me into LZ...I bought my first copy of Licensed to Ill about 4 months later, hearing the Bonham sample on Rhymin and Stealin' blew my mind!
Certainly not the most original band, though, was it? Johnny Winter would regularly advertise his competition onstage by saying who wrote each song (BB King, Ray Charles, Freddie King, etc.) while Led Zeppelin stole royalties shamelessly.
Bonham fits into the band like the 2nd key that comes with a lock. I don't think you could ask for anything more than what he did that night. His time and tempos were flawless all night and they all locked-in and became Led Zeppelin again.
Oh Jason. I just know your father was beaming down at you with a huge smile and so much pride and love. You did Bonzo proud this entire show and every day. 👏💐❤️
Our lovely cat bought me Led Zeppelin 4 for my 17th birthday. Not sure how she brought it on home, but somehow she did! I remember thinking Four Sticks was companion piece to Friends.
I feel that people who have watched the movie, know that after this song they put on an absolutely amazing performance. And only you know what that song is, only they will know.
this brought a tear to my eye. it must have been incredibly rough for Jason to lose his dad at only 14, and he absolutely did John--and himself--proud here
Always loved Zep and though I never saw them live I did see You Tube videos and it seemed they were not as good live as the studio version. Man was I wrong.
Ok, I've watched this clip a few times to get my finger on Bonham's son playing this song and the one thing missing in the boy is the funk his father had, kinda a jazz effect mixed in. John Bonham was one of the most rock-soulful drummers. I've been drumming for 52 of my 66 years and made some money at it. Love Bonham and Ward and Paice, those great old English drummers who rocked, but only Ginger Baker could seal the deal.
It's too bad that the four of them didn't tour after this. Not as Zeppelin, but call it something else, throw some of the old blues standards in the set so it isn't ALL Zeppelin music, and then go make a record of new stuff. I know that Robert still believes, and rightly so, that without John there can be no Led Zeppelin, so change the name. Call the band Four Sticks, Black Dog, Gallows Pole....shit, ANYTHING. But, that time is gone now and I'm bummed.
@@checkmagik what a juvenile response. The only reason Jason is up there is because the remaining members want to keep the reunion as authentic to the original Led Zeppelin sound and image as possible. So only common sense would give reason to Jason playing the same gear as his dad. That's why he has the gong behind him and why he played the solo the same way his dad did at the end of the studio release of Rock and Roll. Then again, that point can easily be rebutted while defending with the argument that Plant has always changed his own tunes when he sung them live by singing different vocal rhythms and tunes to the hooks in every song. But then again, Plant is the rockstar in the band isn't he? Jason isn't. Most people want to hear live versions of the original so unless the sound is better changing things ultimately ends up ruining the experience for the audience. Now that I've had my rant, yep the drum kit sound is better than his dads but my guess is that Zildjian probably has a deal with Jason and the band to advertise their logo on that gong.
I love seeing Robert, Jimmy, and JPJ all smiling at Jason. He did his dad very proud.
Saint Bonham is smiling from Heaven.
He's not dead God wanted Drum lessons.
Love Jason Bonham singing harmony on this.
his Dad did a lot of backing vocals live

Just think, if it hadn't been for the great bluesmen of the south, and later on, Chicago, we wouldn't have had ANY of this.

John Paul jones is a musical genius
Dude was playing keyboards and bass pedals like a boss on that song.
Yes, JPJ is the "musical Swiss army knife" of Led Zeppelin. He has got some impressing abilities.
The great brain behind Led
Yep I agree ,& one badass mandolin player that can keep up with any of the Nashville session cats
THE single most underrated musician of the 20th century. The guy is a genius.
To be able to perform at this level decades past their prime shows you just how awesome this band really was.
The greatest rock band in history playing a song from the greatest rock album of all time. Priceless.
RemainedTheSame Nice profile picture!
The Dark Side Of The Moon is the best rock album.

Walexe best prog rock. It’s a masterpiece but Definitely not the quintessential rock album.
That was huge for Jason! I'm proud of him for stepping in for his father John.
It's a definite tribute to his papa!!
Best band ever.
.... no other band even comes close.
Rammstein
100% agreed

@@alvincarrier1567 maybe, still the most insane tho.
@@alvincarrier1567 Who cares. The songs which were 100% original were way better than any other of their contemporaries.
Page stands there like he's eight feet tall.🐰

Jason rocked this one
Man they are having some fun.
I love the smile on Bob's face when Jason sings the harmony vocal line at 1:04-1:15 . They are both clearly just having a great time.

Kevin Durden It was, "like a leed zeppelin"
@@annalenawagenblass6350 Like a lead zeppelin.
Okey. "Will fall down like Red Baboon" he muttered.
The Ledz letting John's son playing the drums at their consert is so wholesome.
Against the odds, we were there...second ballot bliss. :)
Jason bonham did his dad proud
ramble on and all of zeppelin songs are badass my high school days in the 70s
I keep reminding myself that these Rock God's are someone's grandparents. And they still have more swag than any music artist today.
The synergy is through the roof making a live Vibe that's pure rock magic . Long Live Rock & Roll !
the energy level awesome
They are all fantastic! I like a lot this song, for its energy.
2:01 Misty Mountain Hop = Pure joy and happiness
Oh Jason. I just know your father was beaming down at you with a huge smile and so much pride and love. You did Bonzo proud this entire show and every day. 👏💐❤️
This along with Kashmir are one of the few songs that they didn’t tune down for and they are both probably my favorite from this show.
Stoned and blissful while listening!!!! 🥴🥴🥴😁😁
Fortunate I saw them back in the day!
Thank you for posting this.
god my favorite band still rocking here at 58 ...........

Seriously Blowin My Mind 🤯
My favorite of the set
That guitar solo has so much flavor I feel like I just had a piece of smoked brisket

They are 12 i really don't believe
They had the sound down, thinking it was Leif Garret’s comeback tour.😏

Too bad this was their last gig. Wish they could have done a final show in LA.
I find it interesting that from living in Dallas, he's developed a slight American accent.
hey Zep, ya'll still owe Tampa FL a show...be coolest thing ever "The Makeup Show 2021" who's in?

Jhon Bonham hit the drums, like they were an enemy, his son is a little more careful.
I really don't know...
2.02 what was that for ?😂😂
misty mountain slop
It is great to see the boys together..Jason does a good job, but the fills just aren't as hard driven as his dad.
I think the issue is Plant seems to have forgot the songs or something...
"... isn't as good as John Bonham..."
That's like saying he's not Chuck Norris.
331SVTCobra hahahahha exactily
It's not him. It's the mixing.
Is that his dad's old kit?
No. It's modeled after it, but Ludwig made that kit specifically for Jason to use during that show.
first
Why is he playing Zildjans here when his dad always played Paiste?
because Zildjian rules, and he has his own sound, he doesn't need to copy John's drum kit or style, Jason's his own man, deal with it

it's time to retire, Robert Plant sings nothing else
