When I went to order one from orileys they asked if it was oval or rectangular after saying I have an 01 passat 1.8t. I asked if there was an engine code specific and they said "no its one of those wonky things"🤣😭😭 but thanks another for this video kind sir.

FYI this also applies to 2.0 ltr. The 10 mm bolt will also accept a 5 mm allen, but the space is likely to be full of dirt. 10 mm socket is the way to got.

@@joelprovine7543 No, this is on Mk4, with 2.0 gas engine. I spent way too much time cleaning out the indentation on the bolt head for the 5 mm Allen. When I was done, I realized that a 10 mm socket would’ve been much more efficient and better use of my time. The instructions only mention the 5 mm Allen wrench and not the 10 mm bolt head. Good luck.

Great video! I just did this on my Beetle 1.8T. Pain in the ass since you can't really get a good bead on it. The original lead is way too short and the bracket was a pain. Hi thanks for your great video. My 2009 Rabbit had the EPC and check engine light on, so I changed to a new throttle body. But both lights were still on after 20 mins drive. So I found your video and bought an OBD2 scanner, found out the P0322 code. I changed to a brand new crankshaft position sensor, run the OBD 2 scanner again, the code P0322 is still on. I tested drive the car and seems ok. Can I still continue to drive without reset the code? Or it must to be reset if not the car will died again? Thanks in advance

Hey, thanks for the video. Unfortunately I cannot get my sensor out, I’ve taken out the 10mm mounting bolt but the sensor is extremely stuck, it spins freely but will not pull out from the mount despite many hours of prying and pulling. Any tips? I’ve been debating hitting it with some pb blaster but have not tried this yet. Thanks in advance

Riley Lerner the pb blaster can be helpful. It’s a tight spot to work in but if you have some sort of small prybar you can work under it.

Great video. What were the symptoms before you changed the sensor?? I was going down the highway doing 75+mph on 5th gear and the RPMs just dropped down to 0. Kinda scary when you are in traffic. Put it in 4th gear and I was able to rev it up and bring it back to speed. It wouldn't get past 4,000rpms after it though. Took it to autozone and got the same code.
