Great video!
I recently did this to my 2010 Jetta and it was pretty easy. Only thing that hung me up was one of the 4mm allen heads was stripped so I had to hammer a Torx bit into the head of the bolt to get it going.
Thanks man. I've done this repair on 3 or 4 of these 2.5 engines.... sadly a common but very easy fix. I reference your video for tools needed each time, I do forget that !! Entire video is great for beginners also.Thank you!
What are the symptoms for this being bad. We have a crank, turns over but immediately shuts off. Only happens in cool mornings and moisture (rain, dew)
He has a gear dent while stopping and walking, and there are no errors on the scanner. Could this sensor be the reason?
My Volkswagen cuts out while driving then right back in. It feels like short quick jerk, then it's normal again. Mine is a 2015 TDI Passat 2.0. No codes are flashing either. What could it be? What should I check? It's got about 166000 miles on it

I had the same issue, and needed to rev at startup to keep it on. I ended up replacing the MAF sensor to fix it. The issue is, it must be OEM, if it isn't OEM it will still do it. A tech told me VWs are very sensitive to electrical components so always use OEM. I found a OEM MAF on eBay and soon as I swapped it the issue disappeared. Hope that helps
Parabéns… me ajudou muito
hello, my vehicle jetta 2.5L 2017, this leaking oil by the crankshaft position sensor, what could it be? or will it be the crankshaft retainer?
thank you
Gracias por decir donde va
Is this the same for 2.5 jetta 2010?
Thanks for creating this video. I am working on clearing a P0322 code right now. Do you think fixing this will also clear the P0507-RPM Higher than expected code. Thanks.
the P0507 code is usually caused by a vacuum leak most times or possibly a dirty throttle body, cars that have idle air control valve issues can throw this code as well. I would check for vacuum leaks first
@@603Mechanicvids will do. Thank you for the reply.
So helpful !! Thank you!! I have vw rabbit 2008 ! So I have to disconnect the battery before replacing it ??? Or no ?
Is this also relevant for a 2006 passat FSI?
I believe it's different
Great video. Where can I get the part? .
I put a link in the video description for the new part
will the OB2 show a code
yes
Does it need to reset code ?
yes
What is the code problem? I have the code P0016.
Is it the same for a Passat B6 2010? I have 1.4 TSI.
I've never worked on the 1.4 tsi but from what I've researched its a much bigger job to replace.
check on some 1.4 passat forums if you can't find a video for the sensor replacement.
