@@lordtachanka8432 i just bought a 24 4runner v6 before new gen will come out with turbo. Our vw jetta will be used only here in our town and 4runner in long drive. Im not confident now to use in long drive. I rather pay for little bit of gas rather than to be stranded in the middle of nowhere.
It can be your throttle body from having a lot of sludge on the back and needs replaced! These engines tend to sludge up! I recommend an oil/water separator! After de sludging the whole engine it solved my problem!
The EPC light is turning on when driving past certain areas. It is not distance related as I have verified this, it is not a pattern of running time or distance. The light will be off until we drive past a 1/4 mile length of road in Carmel Valley, and at other trigger points in the Monterey County area. As that is where we routinely drive and experience the EPC light turning on. I am thinking it may be triggered by an radio signal or microwave signal or some frequency on a carrier that has enough amplitude to interfere with the electronic modules or sensors. We (my Wife and I) never find an OBDII code fault before, during or after the EPC light is triggered. It now comes on at every start up but the off when immediately restarting the engine. I thought my wife was being ridiculous when she told me that it always turns on when she drives through the area described above, but sure enough it turned on each time in the area. I thought maybe related to the uphill and downhill climbs and or engine temperature prior to the level stretch of road where it triggers, but if not driving past that area but still after the hills it does not trigger, and it regularly triggers other locations that have only small inclines as this county is in hilly terrain most of which is minor. Bizarre. Frustrating! I have just finally figured out how to access the Brake Pedal Switch which required removing all the overlapping trims of the center console, and instr. cluster, several fasteners, media center trims to help prevent breaking the cover that hides the brake pedal switch. Frustrating! I did not see the switch however!!! And had to take a cool down break!
I have the same mystery/issue with my golf 4. The EPC light is turning on almost every day in a specific place for a half a mile whatever the speed, temperature or prior driving time. Checked almost everything, nothing came up!
The 2017 VW Golf Sportwagen SE TSI EPC light can go on without any OBDII fault code existing. So good luck with the troubleshooting, and good thing we have an OBDII system that VW chose not to include for all EPC triggered faults!
My Touareg showed the EPC light and after parking the vehicle failed to start the following morning. When trying to crank the engine it seems there is no compression! Does it mean the engine fuckd up?

My mechanic says I'm wasting money. But I have a job. And when I'm driving my car I need to be save while I'm driving my car
Same! But engine started getting sluggish( while crossing the throg’s neck bridge in NY). Then the car conked out about a mile later. Turned it off and back on. No light. Drove home slowly with no further issue. Thought it might be bad gas???? Bringing it to the mechanic to be safe.

@piper174 just an update the EPC was my fault, so I wasn't waiting for the car to say Ready. I was new to owning a GTE so after pushing start I'd just select Drive, but the car didn't like that. Lol so far ap good lving mine
hello i have a VW jetta 2012 it has a weird problem even the mechanics didn't know the problem , when i turn on the car it works for about 2-3 minuets and then stops shuts down for the rest of the day and i can't make it work again but after 24h if i turn it on again it works 2-3 minuets and the same thing keeps happening , did anyone have a problem similar to this ?

Mine just light up solid after a pull...then I shut it off started like nothing happened no light on

Bought a GTE literally the 16th May and its saying EPC on the dash.
i bought a 2019 bug 2 months ago and now the epc light is coming on. luckily my warranty is still good!
