the day in 1979 when I heard somewhere "giripai" I was mesmerized by the voice and followed by lilting violin music. Then I came to know it was sung by Shri MD Ramanathan and the violin was by TN Krishnan, from that date onwards I was an ardent fan of those two masters. Unfortunately I was not able to witness physically his concert due to poor financial background at that point of time. Thanks to AIR and Doordarshan, and cassettes I was able to listen to their wonderful rendition. They were real artists who focused only on chaste music. very rare breed. Whenever I hear the sahana - giripai or Samayemidhe - kederam my heart use to melt. Thanks for posting wonderful video of his interview and also his home. Now I am 66 still attached to his music. One great thing was that in 2018 I attended TNKrishnan concert in Music academy and unfortunately within 2 years he passed away.
Million thanks for sharing the rarest of the rare video on the apt ocassion to celebrate his Birth Centenary!! I am really moved by his true and sincere Devotion towards Lord Rama and Lord Anjaneya!! One could see in this video his unparalleled Bhakti bhava towards the God while doing his Puja. MDR is the greatest of all musicians. The concert I attended in the year 1976 at the Bharatiya Fine Arts in Bombay where he sang the ' Endaro Mahanubhavulu ' for more than an hour and is still evergreen in my memory.
Dream come true Video. First, it’s the most revered Mahavidwan, Padmashree MDR’s video. Second, it’s the great artist performing the Puja - Bhakti with prayer through music.. Thank you dear Sri Balaji 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Among the gem videos, I like this the most. The one and only one music legend in the contemporary era who lived in and for music, breathed music in all his routines, be it while praying, travelling, clearing his throat, coughing, or even talking during concerts. His veneration (bhakti) towards everything he loved is reflected in every walk of his life. The great MDR Sir enjoyed every bit of lyrics (sahitya) in the compositions he performed, and because of that he could replicate and visualize each composer’s perspective while performing 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 ഈ ദൃശ്യം വിഡിയോയിലാക്കിയ പ്രതിഭയുടെയും അത് പുറം ലോകത്തിനു പകരുവാൻ സന്മനസ്സു കാണിച്ച അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മകൻ ശ്രീ ബാലാജിയുടെയും മുൻപിൽ നമിക്കുന്നു 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👌👌👌.
