My neighbor is building almost identical house same pool same patio, 3 rooms. Good luck with everything
Thx again for having us and for all the help and support!!
Thank you both!
God willing this will be us one day
Looking forward to seeing the finished villa. Am sure you will take us to see it in person when we come on holiday later this year, Ty
Looking forward to see you guyd again soon!
Guys remember you are building an awesome home , don’t buy cheap it always costs more in the long run.
Hi! I am also a Vloger and share my travels to DR. Love this country and bought the land. Hope to build soon but the prices are insane!!! Nothing like I expected 😢
Thanks for watching!
I build last year and this year all construction prices when up 25 percent
As a Dominican when we buy sofa or bed .We go to the store take picture of what we want and then have a local make what we want with good material (Caoba) best wood there is and we save 70% of the cost
It’s a shame the appliances are so much cheaper in the states, but they are imported I guess. They would have to decide on the colors of the walls before they purchase anything , that’s what a designer would do starting with a blank canvas.
It’s an island, furniture and appliances are expensive. 🤷♀️. However, that store in particular is priced quite high. Santiago has great stores with beautiful furniture and decor. Hire a driver, or brave driving on your own and go check it out. You can also get some of your furniture made; Sosua/Cabarete has some great craftsmen. You’ve got options 😊.
Correct, there are many other stores, for the sake of time, we visited the nearest option yesterday. Their bedroom sets are imported from Italy, designer stuff. Electrodomestics are similarly priced to somewhere like Jumbo or La Sirena, plus you get a discount paying in cash.
I would cuss also at those asking prices. Especially the bedroom sets. That kiosk fridge is around 2800. In the USA and if you're getting a set it would be even less. As for the bedroom sets price is asking. In the 🇺🇸 you could get a Sleep Number and an extra 2gs the dresser set and that's a quality set. I would have all my stuff shipped by ship and pay the cost. Why spend so much on your home to put cheap way overpriced items in it that aren't a top-name brand? Your money your life good luck...
Sounds like a great video series "importing furniture to The DR" let us know when you make the move - we will come and document your experience for free!
@@DRPropertyGuys yes please. Please include shipping from Canada (Montreal 😉). Would love to know costs, paperwork/insurance requirements, delivery time etc…
yes, let me know too if you find a way to get stuff here at US prices. I have a bunch of condos, could save a fortune. Two things you forget: 1) import taxes, often 50%, and 2) transport costs - have to be sea or air (it's an island, doh!).
@@lindsaygaser I have 6 apartment and a big house in my case I take a picture and have a local make it with great wood and I save about 60% of cost. They have about 4 good wood but I recommend Caoba it would last forever. also please note that they also have 'black friday ' in DR for a discount
@@CarlosPerez-ey4co I have condos here too and a good carpenter is an important person in furnishing condos or villas. I have never imported any furniture. I think you did not hear the sarcasm in my comment. We all agree US prices are totally irrelevant here. Just one tip for those having furniture made - insist that all the pine wood is treated - pino tratado - (ie will not attract termites or woodworm). Especially the bits that are not visible once it is finished. Hardwoods like caoba or oak (if you can find any) do not have this problem.
In DR construction cost just like everywhere will vary depending on location. My family build a couple villas in San juan, Elías piña municipal. After covid the prices for materials shot up quite a bit unfortunately. But my mom built a 2 floor, 5 giant bedroom house with a massive yard and pool for little less than $300k usd and counting since she is still adding to it lol. But ofc this was from the year 2003-2007.
True story - and it doesnt look like construction costs will be getting any cheaper...thanks for watching!
How much you spend already for land and construction?
More less
If not secret
I just wana compare with mine 76m 2 in South coast
Land is currently US$85/m2 in this community as of January 25th 2023. Construction costs are around US$1,100-1,200/m2 depending on finish.

Great video. I love the different content. It's good to see a villa being built and the furniture store is better than most our the ones we have here in Canada. Keep up the good work.
What about the cost of that build you stated you would say? I would use that investment in Thailand which would be 2x more the value. And a better all-the-way across the board. The people the quality of life. Investment back into the infrastructure the list goes on...
Certainly you can do with your money as you please. I have travelled all over Asia and been to Thailand 3 times. Nice country for sure. Don't want to live there either. We love it here in the DR. Quality of life for us is excellent and that's all that matters.
@@rogermuller1452 Pretty sure foreigners can't own real estate out there either, condos maybe but property not...but I'm sure this guy knows that, he probably watched a few podcasts :)
I love the DR’s close proximity to the USA and Canada. A few hours and one flight and I’m with my family in my home country. That’s gold! Asia, is literally half a world away.
@anunaki only one thing .Thai laws prohibit foreigners from owning land in their own name
What's the price for land and materials and labor
Currently April 2023 land prices in that community are us$85/m2. Construction costs are approx us$1,200/m2 not including elevations, plans nor permits Thanks for watching.
@@DRPropertyGuys thanks
Not nice man. Don’t come to the land & build if you not doing nothing for the people. Simple!!!!
How about providing jobs for like 15 people for 6 months and paying taxes here? You don't know too much about economic development i reckon.
I am a Dominican and you are so wrong with your comment. The fact that he is building his villa, he is helping, with the jobs also with the taxes. It is the better way to help us.
