Hi Phil. What would you recommend for older couples on their first visit to the DR away from the crowds, tourist ghettos, and noise, in a relaxing environment? Would it be in downtown Puerto Plata? Sosua? Cabarete? Los Alamos or Jardines in Santiago, or Piantini in Santo Domingo?
Take a look at Hotel Villa Taina in Cabarete...Nice relaxing well run beachfront boutique hotel....
@@DRPropertyGuys I just checked its website. It looks like mainly a family oriented hotel focusing on water sport activities.
@@dovygoodguy1296 That's Cabarete, watersports capital of The Dominican Repubic, watersports optional of course but relaxing to watch...the hotel is away from the crowds, tourist ghettos, and noise, in a relaxing environment, particularly at this time of the year, plus it's on the beach, central to the restaurants bars and cafe's and approx 50 meters from the ocean, footwear optional. There are some decent condo options in Cabarete also...you might want to check out hotels in Bayahibe on the south coast of The Dominican Republic as well, it all depends on your budget....Santiago and Santo Domingo are busy cities, not the best environments for peace, quiet and relaxation.
Who did you use for the move? and also, how were taxes determined? Would love the info as we are moving to the Dominican Republic next spring... Thank you in advance.

Wow, looks amazing. I assume other villas will be built around this property… fantastic price, just curious about how much would the pool and the garden cost??? This could be a marvelous retirement home… nice and manageable…
@@johnrencher442 the pool and garden area are very manageable, you could get someone in 1 time a week if need be. Similar size properties will pay around 20 dollars per visit. Add on top some electric cost and chlorine and you are set. Yes at some point expect other properties to be built around this one. There are already several built condos and villas across the street from this one.

god i miss the teenage years i spent living there in san cristobal. beautiful country. the economy is jacked up just like the entire world including here in the US. very questionable ethics and morals but nonetheless still my future vacation spot to buy a home in privacy.
You will definitely have to sell a lot of fruit from those trees to make up the money u will need to renovate that villa.🌴🌴🌴 Lol!😏 For the asking price u can just go brand new if you include the price of renovations.

However you cannot compare the older phases in this community to the new ones, there simply isn't the vegetation and the homes are built one on top of the other, almost resembling a trailer park. Add in the construction time, delays and multiple deficiencies...most people are happier remodelling over paying top dollar for a dream home that turns into a nightmare. Thanks for watching!
