I thought he was a mobster and/or an owner of the casino I was dealing at because he was annoyed at a player and said something like “do you know who I am? Say another thing and I will have you bleeping** carried out in the chair you are sitting in”. The other player was out of line, but the arrogance this guy has is immeasurable. J9 is not the best bc it blocks T9s and Q9s, but I think it makes for a pretty decent call. I don't think its the craziest call ever either like Afrait was making it out to be, but in the context it was just a big hand that really shifted the momentum of the whole tournament and caused a tantrum. Absolute man-child move. He could have simply folded and not disrupted the game for everyone else. Anyone who blames the dealer is lowest of the low.

    Barney Boatman is s legend here in UK. He has brothers who play as well and they all have a great SOH. I think he did well to keep his composure in the face of pure belligerence, as Afriat behaves like an absolute sausage! Alex, I can't see how you can defend him dude sorry. Devil's advocate or not Afriat was way out of line.

      Because etiquette reflects your ability to respect the other players at the table. If you don't care about the quality of people you surround yourself with, then sure, it doesn't matter. But it's the mark of a mature, fully functioning adult.

    • @ericdoheny9108
      @ericdoheny9108 6 місяців тому

      @@kjr4946 this player was in adherence to the rules of the game & his demeanor was pleasant. I can’t think of any other competitive game or sport where people virtue signal such emphasis for “etiquette.” For fucks sake, to win the game it helps to emotionally manipulate, mislead & deceive your opponent through gaslighting (“good fold” when it wasn’t/showing ONE card to plant the seed of DOUBT), teasing (showing bluffs) & targeting the vulnerable (tired, drunk, inexperienced players). Nothing about poker is any form of expression of etiquette! This guy showed LOTS of humility & class by complimenting his opponent’s play when he lost- which to me, speaks louder of his character than USING THE TIME CHIPS WHICH ARE THERE FOR HIM TO USE 🤷🏻‍♂️ 😆 🤡
