    His final hand might be the worst call in WSOP history. It's amazing how a kid who played a hand that badly made it as far as he did. It's equally amazing that this 110 lb. twerp didn't get ragdolled in the parking lot with the way he spoke to other players during this tournament.

      he played it horribly.. but also this is like day 5 or so of the event.. thats a lot of stressful poker. imagine hardly sleeping.. your body is on a high for 5 days straight.. sometimes dumb plays happen.. his was extra dumb..

      my EXACT thoughts. I remember hating Gold but I don't remember Molina at all. This was my 3rd year following the main event. Even though I personally hate people like this, Will K, or the bull doser it makes for entertaining TV.

    He told his family he got caught but no, he made the stupidest call ever on a two card draw. He was losing the whole time and he wasn’t the one who pushed, he CALLED so no he didn’t get caught, HE did the chasing and missed.

      Hardly the stupidest call ever. It's 700k to win 1.9 million so he only needs about a 37% chance to win to make it worth it. He's a bit unlucky that he's up against 99, if he's up against tens or jacks he has four more outs and it's pretty much mathematically correct to call (close enough that it comes down to tournament dynamics).
      The overbet on the flop is more questionable IMO because it makes it really hard to have a flush (especially at the time this happened), which in turn means there's a lot of hands your opponent can comfortably shove with.

      @@moneyindabank As I said above, even if his straight outs weren't blocked it's still a slightly bad call when you do the math. So, not the worst call ever, but definitely a bad call.

      Pretty common theme in poker, wild players who get a little bit of minor success due to their erratic play this then inflates their ego, they think they are better than they are (EVERYBODY else is aware of this fact) then they quickly disappear into obscurity and the only thing left is a video on UA-cam of their feeble efforts.

    This kid was trashed at my table in 2006, he was so annoying and was sitting on a huge stack. He ended up busting me out of the tourney on day 3 w KK. He said he got in the tourney by putting his whole weekly paycheck on one hand of blackjack, won, then used the 1k in a 10 person satellite to win his buyin for the main event.

    I think I would have called the floor for him creating a disturbance and making comments to influence play. Could have at least gotten him a warning. Jamie Gold got a warning for his table talk during the 2007 WSOP. People like this just create needless tension for the whole table and slow down the game.

      I think the table talk rules were changed after and because of Jaime Gold, so it makes sense that more strict enforcement is happening now compared to back then.

    It’s one thing when somebody gets mad after they got unlucky and lost a big pot, but what we’ve seen from this kid is that he insults people as the person is shaking his hand AFTER he just knocked them out of a tournament. That is a whole other level and it’s amazing that nobody ever took a swing at him.
