- I decided to catch a cold during this video...which then turned into a chest infection. Not great when you're an asthmatic! But the show must go on, as the saying goes!
So I finished off the fifth floor elevator first. Then moved into the bathroom, to build some cabinets etc. Hope you enjoy watching!

Even though I don't do furniture, I love watching your videos. Thankyou so much while I'm doing my miniatures I watch you doing yours! ❤❤😊 hope your better!😊
Thank you sweetie 🙏 isn't it lovely though, the fact that we all have our different styles of what we like doing! ❤️xx
So so sweet . Loved your episode as usual. Take care of your health. Lots of love.
Thank you so much. The tickly cough is annoying but hopefully it will clear ASAP 🙏
😊 Love the stories and the cabinets. Didn’t expect so much bling on either but all good here! 💐💃
You're very welcome 🙏 it's nice to share stories with other people. Glad all is well with you! 😊
I absolutely love the bathroom cabinets. Beautifully done. 😊
Thank you Jean 🙏 I had an image in my head of what a wanted, and then built them to my design ☺️
You’re great cat daddies. I miss my Maggie ever day 😽
Thank you 🙏 it's sad when your pet is taken from you. This has happened to me quite a few times, and I still miss them every day 😢
Golly, the bathroom cabinets look beautiful. Well done.
Many thanks 🙏 I think the hardest part, is what design to decide on! When you start using your imagination you start getting so many ideas 😀
I love the reflection of the cabinets in the floor. Really cool!!! Aw, the kitties were being sweet. Feel better soon!!!
Many thanks 🙏 yes it's nice to see them getting along! 😺😺
The cabinets are perfect, and I love the mural!! ❤
Thank you 🙏 by the way, I subscribed to your channel. I didn't realise you had one, but it came up on my youtube whilst browsing 😊
Awwww Nigel and Georgie
They looked so cute together 😺😺
Hope you’re feeling better!! I DID notice the access situation, but TOTALLY gave you the benefit of the doubt - and just figured I missed an explanation along the way. Nice fix. As for the bathroom - OhMan! Stunning! The reflection of the cabinets on the floor is a bonus! You’ve got me believing every home should have an indoor river. ☮️💜
The coughing isn't helping me sleep, but hopefully it will clear soon! And I'm pleased you noticed the mistake, because it shows that you are taking note! Many thanks 🙏 x
I love Poirot; in fact so many of your Art Deco touches remind me of that show, especially your elevator (lift) doors. I love the way the cabinets in the bathroom turned out. Hope you get well soon, as you know, I know how it is. Take care
Thank you Deena 🙏 yes, its really crappy when you can't breathe properly. Hopefully lots of honey and lemon will help! Yes we love Poirot a lot. Its my absolute favourite era, so I'm so pleased to be creating it in the house 😊
Hello from Finland! I love Art Deco House! I always wait a new episode to watch. And this community is so great. Love to be part of it. I self do also dollhouses, but also animal houses as horse stables with outside gardens. This is so brilliant to get new ideas of your houses! Feel better soon!
That is so nice to hear someone from Finland! I want to make a garden on top of the Art Deco house. I love to see miniature gardens 😊 and thank you for your good wishes 🙏
So sorry you’re under the weather Rich. You’ll be in my prayers for healing and strength 🙏 your art deco house looks awesome 🤩 I love the look of all the lifts 🛗 I bet having to do that top lift and those fine silver strips again 😫 the art deco cabinets gorgeous. We’re laughing at your further tales from the states. Rainmack guy of 42nd St 😂😅 Diamonds at Night helicopter 🚁 sounds awesome ☺️ the bathroom looks incredible the reflective floor adds a Wow!! Factor. Big hug buddy. Wish you better health going into the rest of the week 🤗
Thank you so much both of you 🙏 this is the first day in a couple of weeks that I'm starting to feel better! Springtime colds can be horrible!
Yes, my heart groaned when I realised that the lift doors aren't finished yet! 😂
And glad you enjoy my tales. I keep thinking of different things that's happened over the years, so I'm sure I'll come up with more over time 😂 hope you are both doing well my lovelies 😊
Oh Rich that cough. I feel for you. Took me 4 weeks after I got sick to stop coughing. Feel better quick!!!! LOVE the Art Deco house. What a Fab project!
I know! Every time I breathe out, it makes me cough! I really hope it clears soon as it's really annoying both of us now. Even Georgie gave me a funny look earlier! 😂
Pls get well soon I love watching your channel and listening to your stories
Thank you so much for your kind message 🙏
Looking good loved the story get better soon
Many thanks Iris 🙏
The bathroom is beautiful. ❤
Many thanks Connie 🙏
I enjoyed the video after work while enjoying a bowl of Brew-ha-ha (Caw-fee and dark chocolate chip) ice cream! Love the way you can bring your vision to life in your Art Deco house. Love Poirot too and his impeccable sense of taste.
Your helicopter story reminded me of a visit to Lady Liberty with some friends from Germany a long time ago. We walked all the way up into her crown up many, many winding stairs because the elevator was broken. The view was great but the climb was a bit claustrophobic! It must have been incredible to see her so close up.
Thanks for visiting all of us via your videos. Loved seeing Georgie too!
That sounds like a lovely way to enjoy a video! Must try that myself sometime! 😂
Yes, I remember we also went to visit Lady Liberty. And we also took the stairs. I had to use my asthma inhaler when we got to the crown! Amazing though, to see such an iconic statue of our planet, up close x
The house is just the business absolutely love it.
I am also a fan of Poirot watch it over I also watch the comedy Jeeves and Wooster with Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry it is so Art Deco x
Thank you 🙏 and yes, I love anything Art Deco and watch Jeeves and Wooster! xx
WOW! I am sure that Point can revive his little gray cells in such a spa like bath.
Hehehe, his little grey cells! I've been saying that all around the house! I think I'm channelling Poirot! 😂
Springtime colds are no fun, get well soon ❤ you Sir, have just proven once again, why I think you’re the Bob Ross of doll house’s ❣️😂 your talent has me enamored and excited to try, if it doesn’t work, try something else! Never a mistake, just a happy accident 😅hello Georgie and Nigel! Sending wellness wishes, to both you and Jon❣️😂😂😂 your story had me in absolute stitches 😂😂😂
You are so right about Sringtime colds! I'm spending the whole time trying not to cough! Hopefully it will pass ASAP! And such a privilege as always to be likened to the lovely Bob Ross! Bit it's true, I never worry about trying a new bit of furniture etc because it can always be fixed! And lovely to know I've made someone laugh! It's a great medicine! 😂❤️xx
@@RichMiniatures it is indeed and I’m loving the house too❣️
Your artdeco house is beautiful, lovely work, enjoy your videos 😊
Thank you very much 🙏
Hello, loved the cats in the garden. I used to have one of those plants that the cats are laying in because our cat used to lay in it too 😂. Loving your videos.
Hello Pamela, thank you for watching my videos 🙏 and thank you so much for telling me about your cat laying in the same plant! That's so interesting because we have a lot of plants, but I've always wondered why they lay on one in particular. So it must be something about the actual plant, that cats like! 🐈
The bathroom looks amazing
Thank you very much for saying, Joanne 🙏
Get well soon. I was down with it myself just lastweek...yea its abit heavy. Love the dressers they real jewels. Take care...love from Namibia.❤
Thank you 🙏 it's really annoying when you can't stop coughing isn't it? Glad your feeling better, and hopefully I will be too! ❤️
Wow! You went from Sutton Place (you were probably around 53rd & 2nd) to a $ex shop on 42nd!! You really saw both sides of NYC 😂. My husband and I love your channel. My husband is a surgeon and in his spare time he loves to make all kinds of things, mostly from wood. He wants to make a bar for my dollhouse and is taking inspiration from your art deco build. Thank you so much for sharing your art ❤️
THAT'S IT! Sutton Place! I'm so glad you said that, as I had forgotten the name. Yes, Sutton Place on 53rd & 2nd! I can picture it like it was yesterday 😊 very fond memories.
What a nice relaxing hobby your husband has, after what I can imagine, as a stressful day at the office!
I really love your videos and you are amazingly good at telling stories and building doll furniture 💕
That's so kind of you to say, thank you Mona 🙏❤️
Oooooooh love what you've done to the art deco bathroom. The mural with the taxi's on really adds to the room. And I can't wait to see tge bath fitted in. Love it
Adore you're stories from your youth, you always make me giggle. You being the little boy's show & tell 😂
Give tge ginger boys Georgie & Nigel a little head scritch from me.. I used to have 2 ginger tom brothers called Wilf & Charlie but sadly no longer with me. Adore seeing your fur babies.
I've had this dreaded cold too, hope you feel better soon. 😊
Thank you for your comments Kirsty 🙏 I've had other cats over the years and it makes me sad to think they aren't still with us. So I can empathise over your sadness of missing poor Wilf & Charlie. I have given both our boys a chin scratch...plus an extra cuddle (they are so demanding sometimes! 😺😺
And glad I made you giggle with my tales of the past! It's good to have a laugh from time to time 😂
Hope you get better Richard. Bet you have George your cat. 🐈 comes and lies next to you. Do get better keep taken your honey 🍯 and lemon. 🍋 drink and medicine. Keep warm.
Thank you Carol 🙏 yes this evening both the cats stayed laying on our laps for comfort 😺😺
The bathroom looks fabulous so far 💛 Your creativity is amazing.
I do hope you feel better quickly! Honey and lemon tea is wonderful. I had an idea for the terrace...maybe a pergola with climbing greenery to provide some shelter between the elevator doors and the interior? It can be done in such a way that light still filters down through to make dappled sunlight. The bathroom is amazing! I can't wait to see more. Do you enjoy reading historical novels? I wrote a couple of historical novels and I keep thinking I need to build a house from the story. I think books can be such lovely inspiration. Who knows? WE care! Nigel and Georgie are just precious! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you Rachael 🙏 I like the idea for the terrace! Like you say, it could provide shelter but still let the light in. I'll have a think about that. Yes I like to read about different architecture, it's so interesting how the styles have changed over the years. At the moment I'm reading A Gentleman In Moscow at the moment. Set in the 1920s. It's really good so far 😊
@@RichMiniatures That sounds like a good book! I love the 1920s. The historical novels I co-authored are set in the late 1920s in Petworth, West Sussex. It's about a young woman runaway with a life-limiting disabilities who finds herself on the doorstep of a family that takes her in. They come to care for each other as family and it's a story of hope, chosen family, overcoming small and large problems, happiness, sadness....all the things.. Some parts are kind of scary, but that's life. Anyway, one of the houses in the book is rather charming and someday, I'd like to create that.
@rachaelkasper5445 yes it's been a lovely book so far. It's about a man in Moscow that stood up against the ruling. He'd been living in a grand hotel (it was quite normal in thise days to just live in a hotel if you were rich enough) So instead of putting him in front of a firing squad, he was kept under house arrest throughout the regime. But he was forced to move from his posh apartment, to live in the attic rooms. And the book is about his time there, and all the folk that came in and out of his life 😊
That's exciting, being an author of a book! I've had lots of ideas for books over the years, but never got around to having a go!
Love the bathroom. I am a bling girl lol so I'd put mirror down side of New York mural 😅😅❤
Ooh I like that idea Rebecca! Wish I'd thought of that too! 🤔🤔🤔 ❤️
The bathroom looks really nice
Very kind of you Mona, and by the way, your lovely "smiley" photo just makes me want to do a huge group hug! ❤️🙏😀
I ah-ha'd over the door handles; ahww'd over the kitties in the garden; ooh'd over the house in general. Another thoroughly entertaining and educational hour spent in your company. Get better quickly!
You are very kind foe saying,, thank you 🙏
I love the bathroom, when can I move in? Ha ha!😅. Thank you for sharing your story about New York. Take care!!
Feel better soon 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you Barbara 🙏 I'm actually starting to feel a bit better today after feeling ill for two weeks now. So hopefully all will be well from now. Yes, I often look at dollhouses and wish I could move in too! 😂
Get well soon x
Many thanks Heather x x 🙏
I love the Poirot. Have watched the series 20-30 times!!!! Marple too. This house is so stunning!!!!
Thank you 🙏 yes I love all that type of thing on TV too! It's my favourite era of all time! 🙏❤️
I would've added a dallop of whisky into that cup of lemon honey :) Get better soon!!!
A few folk suggested that! 😂 shame I prefer Gin though, as I'm sure it wouldn't really do the trick! 😂
@@RichMiniatures Gin and lemon fixes all sorts
@@anneboylen-vb8sl that's true! I might have one this evening. Can't hurt 😂
Oh love i hope you feel better soon 💕💕💕lemon peel tea love with honey and a bit of whiskey at night to sleep .I’ve subscribed to your channel 💕💕💕I’m all set à ready to go ☺️
Thank you so much Grace 🙏 it's the coughing that's really annoying! But funny you should say, because this evening I went out and bought honey and some lemons! 😊
I really 22:06 hope you get to feeling better soon. Loving the Art deco house !!! what a great creative mind. You are truly a treasure. I so wish I could have you do a house for me but I am too poor for that , and I 'am on the wrong side of the pond. Lol USA here. But I do love watching you work on all the beautiful house you create. Have a good night ❤the cabinets are beautiful !!!! That bathroom is going to be fantastic!!
Thank you Robin 🙏 today is the first day after a couple of weeks that I'm starting to feel a bit better! Springtime colds can be horrid!
Yes, the shipping for a house across the pond would be astronomical I'm sure, but thank you for saying 🙏
Oh, my, that cold/infection sounds terrible! I hope you're feeling much better by now. I can tell that John takes great care of you, too. I had reservations about the drama in the bathroom, but when it was all put together, I absolutely loved it!! My only question is, when can I move in? it looks FABULOUS!! If I could shrink myself down, I'd spend time in each of your houses. I hope Georgie has fun storming the castle! Love to all of you, get well soon, and if you're ever in Dallas, the street to avoid like the plague is Harry Hines, lol. 💙💚💛🧡
Thank you Debra 🙏 after two weeks, today is the first day I'm actually starting to feel a bit better! Springtime colds can be horrible!
Glad you liked the bathroom, but you might have to stand in a little queue to use it, as a few folk have requested the same! 😂
You made me laugh when you mentioned if we visited Dallas, because instantly you made me want to go and see the "bad area"! 😂😂😂
Very fancy Richard like them. Yes I have memories of the Twin Towers Remember when the First 1 went down. That was my memories.
Richard, I hope you feel better real soon! I can feel your pain. I just got over a cold myself. I hope you received my email? I can completely understand why I didn’t hear back. No worries. Health comes first. Take Care. 😊
Many thanks 🙏 today is the first day I'm starting to feel a bit better after having it for two weeks now! Hopefully all will be well ASAP. I haven't checked my mail for a couple of days, but I will look today for sure! Hope you have a good day 🙏
Glad your friend noticed you need an access point for the top floor. Amazing how you adjusted the wall without losing the architectural design. I have seen an outdoor art display of different color umbrellas linked together to create a canopy. That may work. The bathroom is just awesome!!! The cabinets are so unique 👏 Love the NYC story. When you said Red Light district I just shook my head I knew something was going to happen. Not as bad as my imagination was taking me😂. My husband is a retired military and hospital helicopter pilot and I have never been in one. Glad you enjoyed the experience. Hope you continue to get better❤ Those kitties are adorable 🥰 Thanks for sharing
Thank you Liz 🙏 yes I'm glad my friend said about the access issue too. I'd like to think I'd have realised, but good that she said it first. Yes, John boy and me were on holiday somewhere in the UK and there were lots of coloured umbrellas hanging in a city street somewhere! It could be a good idea, although I'm hoping to let as much light in as possible, but I'll work something out. You made me laugh when you said you just shook your head when I started talking about 42nd Street! Luckily nothing worse happened to us there though! 😂 xx
WOW ! Rich your work is AMAZING! I LOVE your videos with interesting and humorous tales and kitty appearances! Love it when Georgie gets cosy inside the dollhouse castle! Really appreciate that you still make videos whilst being poorly, hope you get better soon Eileen ❤🤗
@snowgirl1939 that's very kind of you to say! I'm very grateful that folk take time out to watch my progress, so I'm conscious of trying not to leave it too long before I can get the next video together. So thank you for your comment 🙏 ❤️
I'm sure you avoid the raw underbellies of our large cities now! I'm glad y'all came out of it unscathed! Your art deco house is just really amazing and it isn't even finished. I'm so impressed with everything you've done to make it look so authentic. I send hugs and healing wishes to you and John. Also love to Georgie and Nigel.
Hehehe yes, luckily I didn't get into any trouble in the big Apple! And thank you for liking my work 🙏 its a lot of effort, so I'm really pleased when I hear that folk like what I do! ❤️
Get well soon…
All good now, thank goodness! When ever I get a cold it sometimes turns into a chest infection and then it plays havoc with me being asthmatic! But all good now thank you 🙏
❤😊
Mentioned it last time. Thought there was a problem.
Hello Richard, I hope you feel better soon. I love Poirot too, I've read everything Agatha Christie wrote, she's one of my favourite authors, David Suchet really captured Hercule perfectly, just like Joan Hickson with Jane Marple, she had so many amazing characters throughout her books.
The Art Deco house is really coming along, I did wonder how the occupants were going to get up to the top floor lol, although I thought you must've had something planned 😅, I liked the cabinets they really suit the bathroom.
Your fur babies are adorable, I'm sadly allergic to cats 😭 my little dog Lizzy (16) had an injury to her leg recently, she had to have painkillers from the vet, but she's back to her normal self now thankfully, she really had us worried for a while given her age.
Have a great rest of the week,
Best wishes to You, John, and the Kitties from Yorkshire 😊
Hello Diane, thank you for your kind wishes 🙏 after two weeks, today is the first day I'm actually starting to feel a bit better! Springtime colds can be horrible!
Glad you like the work so far. Yes, I love all things Agatha Christie! We ere so blessed to have had her in our lifetime 😊🙏
And I wanted to do a separate reply regarding poor Lizzy 😔 I do hope she is all back to normal now. It's the worst feeling, when our pets fall ill. Please give her a little hug from us! 🙏❤️
@@RichMiniatures Thank you, I agree it's very worrying when our pets are not well, they are family members too.
Lizzy was quite poorly she wouldn't eat or move for almost a week, it's taken a few weeks but she's fine now and back to her normal "wanty" self , she's lets us know what she wants and doesn't give up till she gets her way, which is exactly how Andy describes me , he says I'm not needy, I'm wanty, there's a difference 😂😂
@diane64yorks hehehe well they do say our pets are an extention of ourselves! 😂
Hi, get well soon Rich. How are you getting on with 3D printing, where do you source your files? Definitely an ahhhh moment at the end 🐈🐈🥰 and the house is looking amazing
Thank you Charlotte 🙏 the tickly cough is the most annoying part! I haven't printed a lot yet, but what I have printed came out even better than I imagined. So far I've only used Thingiverse and 3D Cults
Rich, your lawyer friend in NYC that lived 2 hours from the city, and you attempted the name? It is Poughkeepsie (poe-KIP-see) and my husband and I were born and reared there. It is a 2 hr train ride along the edge of the Hudson River to the city, where she most likely had the apartment on 53rd St. The Art Student's League, where I studied, is on 57th, by Central Park. Your 42nd St. story is so funny. I miss New York City- I was there very often and it is awesome. We now live in Washington state, 2 hours from Seattle- no comparison.
(BTW, my name is pronounced mah-rue-lee-OH)
Ah yes, now I remember calling it that when we were there. I thought I'd pronounced it wrong but couldn't remember the correct way 🤔 and yes, I remembered after the video, it was Sutton Place where the aunt has an apartment, 53rd & 2nd. I remember like it was yesterday 😊
As 17 year old, I moved to NYC in ‘89. My girlfriend was at the Art Students League. Jimmy Breslin said about the “renewal” of 42nd Street, “Given a choice between the mouse[Disney] and the hookers, please bring back the hookers.” That’s a paraphrase. You get the idea. 42nd St. now looks like Anywhere, USA. I miss NYC too. But the City that I knew 12 years ago is gone, like the hookers.
@usainengland I can see exactly where you're coming from! I hear this a lot, where someone wants to "clean up" an area, but then it just turns into non descript area, that could be anywhere because the "soul" has been ripped out of it in the process 😏
@@RichMiniatures Thanks for the reply. Regards from New Yorkshire.
@@usainengland I lived in York in Yorkshire for some years. I loved living there, and was sad when I had to leave
I absolutely love your Art Deco house. Would it be alright if I adk where you get the mirror sticky card from! I'd love to get some. I'm in Canada, but I can order things online. Love your orange cats. I have one orange and one calico. ❤️🇨🇦
Thank you 🙏 but I have to say, that I was hoping no one would ask about the mirrored glass, because it came with a house I bought from someone ages ago. So I'm not sure where it came from, sorry 😏
Ooh, actually I've just had a look, and they sell them on Amazon! Hope this is helpful to you 😊🙏
Do you keep all your houses when they are done? I have been thinking of donating my first one I built.
No, we haven't kept every house that we've done. Mainly because we don't have the room, so now and again we have to move them on 😊
