For anyone w/ 14-18 Mazda3, pull the door panel off starting near the side of the door speaker area, then the opposite lower side, then the top outside edge, then last the top inside edge. This is the order in the service manual and will help prevent clip breaking. Thanks for this helpful video! Mine was just rattling and reseating the speaker eliminated it.

I've just fixed the passenger door speaker rattle on my 2016 Mazda 6 - I followed these instructions and managed to remove the door panel without destroying the existing clips! Repair was straightforward thanks to the clear instructions on the video and the speakers now sound great with plenty of bass with no more rattling! Great video and thanks! 👍

It worked perfectly on my 2015 Mazda 3. You saved me a lot of money and I actually enjoyed doing it 😄😆
Now let the music play!!! 😎😎
(Just two minor remarks to help other viewers:
    1) before putting back the door panel at the end, first you have to put the trim clips in the door panel. Then you can click the door panel as a whole into the holes in the door. This is not really clear in the video. I put the new trim clips into the door, but it appeared that you have to slide each trim clip in a different specific manner into the door panel. So I had to remove the trim clips from the door. Not a problem, but maybe a good thing to know.
    2) the glue in the link in the description is not the glue Tutoriale Auto is using in the video. I specifically searched for the Loctite glue and finally ordered it online in the US. Later I found out that he used the Soudal Fix All Crystal glue, which would have been easier for me to buy.)

@@Servicetutorials Many thanks for doing this video! Will be fixing my son's newly bought (used 2016) CX-5 shortly :-) The problem isn't the lack a waterproof glue. The glue used by Bose is still attached to the paint. The paint did not stay attached to the metal. The root cause is a poorly prepared, poorly primed and poorly painted metal. Moisture penetrated through/around the painted metal, causing the metal to rust underneath the paint. In your video, you see many other spots where there is corrosion beneath the paint. This will happen simply due to atmospheric moisture...and doesn't necessarily depend on a leaky window seal. It's 100% a Bose design/manufacturing/process control/quality problem.

Nice, but you need to stop de rust.
First need to peel off the rust under the paint, clean de rust, preferably applying some layer of anticorrosive and re paint again,.
and need to clean the rust under the cardboard material, and apply and antirust with a isop, clean again.
after that you can apply the silicon.
otherwise the speaker will continue to corrode.

It helped me a lot. Nice work.
In the part where the cardboard material was detached, there is a lot of rust and it is necessary to clean it with alcohol and anticorrosive liquid. You have to clean underneath until the swab you use to clean it comes out without rust . You let it dry and then apply the silicone.

The automotive quality of Bose is low. I've had a Jeep with Boston Acoustic, and heard Infinity speakers and even old Bose systems from the early 2000s. They all sound much better than the recent Bose systems. I feel at this point the difference between the low end factory speakers and Bose is almost just branding. buying these OE new is not worth the price. They run close to 240 I think.

According to my local parts store there is no replacement for Bose speakers.

There isn't as well due to Bose' proprietary ohms that differ from most other companies

try crutchfield, they have some low impedance speakers that might work. that's what i'll do if I don't do the repair described here, or if repair doesn't last. Great description in this video tho!

I don't really like anything Bose, either; however, when these systems are paired with additional EQ capabilities they do become quite listenable, if not outstanding, even with physical speaker issues. Just plain factory installation, with the basic bass/high settings, they are very underwhelming.

The trim kit is useless.. I wish that I did not purchase it.

I have to stop you where you quote Philips screwdriver @ 1.40.
You must use JIS - Japanese Industry Standard tools or you will round off the bolt/screw heads.
It's a universal fuck up where many do not understand the correct tools required and the correct method of use.
Seen it many times and the first thing I check when buying used because you can guarantee there'll be a bodged attempt somewhere to service, repair and replace.
    Disaster Imminent!

Um ... i removed my door trim following the same procedure as described here, and Philips worked fine. You won't be removing / reattaching these screws much if ever.

I can’t control the ads, it is youtube fault. I recommend UA-cam Premium, where is no ads.
