full disclosure - i'm old as dirt ... but it does my cynical heart good - to see a younger generation giving a listen to music i've known and loved for decades. cheers.
Careful ELO is a huge rabbit hole. Lots of great music here.
This is PROGRESSIVE ROCK ❤❤
They were also the first band to use lasers during their concerts! Plus they had a UFO that they came out of on stage on their first tour.
I love watching Strange Magic capture every moment.
Good reaction. Thank you for your service 🇺🇲
Thank you very much
I saw then in concert in 1979. That concert was the best I'd ever been to. The whole place was rockin and rollin.
Too much ELO to hear, so little time! Sometimes they rock, sometimes they don’t. One thing you can count on, it’s always so well done!!!!
Great reaction you have got to do evil woman or shangri la god so many from elo thank you ❤
More ELO as they are amazing and a deep catalog to listen to great reboot hole to go down!

@@qurans.5344for a full example of their blend of rock and classical music, listen to "Fire on High". It's a full, and exciting instrumental. Also their first big hit, "Eldorado/ Can't Get It Out of My Head"
For something with the same vibe try 'can't get it out of my head' or for something a little livelier try 'sweet talking woman'. But to really see and experience them you have to cover them live at Wembley with 'telephone line'. You won't regret it
@@stevebrown661 The live performance at Wembley is great, but he should react to the studio version from 1976, it's even greater. Jeff's nearly 70 years old at Wembley, and just doesn't have the same vitality in his voice.
One of my favorites ELO songs from their beginnings. Really beautiful!
Many thanks from Chile! 🙂
Seen them live back in 1978 at the Cow Palace in SF.. Gotta check out the great song "Last Train To London". Jeff Lynne is a musical genius, btw.
Nice reaction. ELO rules! (Btw, it's pronounced, E-L-O, like NBA, CIA, FBI, NFL, etc.) Next from ELO I suggest you listen to another song from this same album, Face The Music. It's called, *"Evil Woman",* and is the song that became their first worldwide hit!
Thank you for that 👍🏽
@@qurans.5344 You're welcome. One more bit of info about the band's name. In 1971 when Jeff Lynne founded the band, a popular form of entertainment in his home county of England were, "light orchestras". Light, meaning just a few instruments, not a "full orchestra". Light orchestras, which were comprised of a violin and two cellos, were everywhere. So Jeff (and a friend who soon left the band) had the idea to combine ELECTRIC rock instruments like guitars, bass, keyboards, etc., with those instruments of a LIGHT ORCHESTRA. And therefore came up with the name, *Electric Light Orchestra.* But yes, as you pointed out, they used a lot of symbolism on things like their album covers that had to do with electric lights, such as the electric chair on this album, and pictures of light bulbs on other albums.
Jeff Lynne worked with George Harrison for many years and later along with Tom Petty formed the Travelling Wilburys. Then they got Bob Dylan and Roy Orbison to join the band and played together from 1988 -1991.
Very Astute. And Mature Reaction to a Great old Pop Song.
❤
Jeff Lynn was a prolific genius. Well worth a deep dive. Try Mr Blue Sky... that's different (and quality.) I agree with the guy below about the sound?
Great song when we teens just wanted to mellow out a while.
they were the 1st band to use a Wireless violin. I know because I was there to see it for myself. Jeff Lynne was able to play every instrument, and he did a lot of it in studio. Go listen to Mr. Blue sky too
Thank you for your service. What you said was a trombone, may have been a french horn.
Another Super Group. They are all very serious about the music but have a lot of fun playing excellent music. Including the Stringed instruments when they play, they don't play on every song for obvious reasons.
One Summer Dream, give it a listen.
Hello.
Gracious! Agree
There's a great live version that you should check out. This is one of those bands that are way better live!! Loved your reaction!!🎶🎼🎵🎸🎧🥁🎤🎹🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘
The shortened form of their name is actually E-L-O, not Eee-low. ;) Great song. You should listen to "Night in the City" of their OUT OF THE BLUE album. It's likely one of their most under-rated songs but a favorite among their most ardent fans. The entire album represents E.L.O. at their best.
❤😂🎉🌎🌍🌏🎉😂❤
Their name is only pronounced by the letters separately- E L O.,
not elo.
Thank you for the correction
A lot of the orchestra sounds, I think are a mellotron.
I'm fairly certain it is violins, violas & cellos as ELO were known to mix things up
Not E-low. E-L-O. There is so much more to look forward to.
Awesome band man. Have you listened to telephone yet
No one calls them E low.
It’s E L O.
Sound is so tinny. Bad source? I can’t listen. Sorry.
My apologies
Yeah the audio sounds like it was recorded from you speakers looses its dynamics.
This is probably one of the worst singles ELO ever released. Still better than most from other bands, but not near to the best ELO.
It's not AKA "EELO", it's the letters E - L - O.
Just thought you'd like to say it right. They have so many great songs, I figured if you hit them again, which you absolutely should, now you know 👍
