Jordan complaining about efficiency while driving 85-90 mph.
"he's more of a holiday inn express kind of guy" lmao
KYLE is more of a Blue Oyster BAR guy.
he Slow dances w/ Jordan.
Kyle likes only videos with cars, charging. He might say a word or two about surroundings. The drone footage is very awesome. Your videos' touch makes a huge difference.
KYLE shares his Butt plug w/ Jordan.
Jordan, love the cinematography and care you put into how you film, keep it up! Bring on the drone shots and quality music selections, it's great to see content from Out of Spec that is so polished.
Well, I do understand Kyle‘s running gun style of videography production values are always worthwhile there’s someplace between using an iPhone camera and MKBHD and his 8K red scarlet cameras. Also, drone shots are always worthwhile if they’re well integrated.
Love it when you film drone shots of our beautiful world! I understand why Kyle doesn’t like to screw around with them, but I still love them!
Great road trip by Jordan . These Out of Spec guys are immune to speeding tickets it seems
Totally worth a drone flight. I can only imagine driving through there. 46:07
Fyi, Nephi is said like WiFi. (Knee-Fi)
I appreciate the care and attention you put into your videos. You make a great host as well. Your sense of humor shows and you seem to have a measured temper and are usually in good spirits. Thank you for what you do for the channel!
Absolutely Yes. Drone shots are worth it. Love your road trips, Jordan. Don't change a thing.
Excellent video. I purchased a brand new Trans Am in Germany and I picked it up in between duty stations from Dick Poe Pontiac here in El Paso. My new duty station was Ft. Irwin. During my first 4 day weekend I decided to check out Vegas. On the way to State Line, Primm, I opened up the TA to see what it was capable of. Traffic wasn't really heavy and it was a straight shot approaching Primm. I got it up to 156 mph. But coming up behind me was a Porsche 911. I tried to out run it. In the blink of an eye this guy got into the fast lane and he passed me like I was going slow. I was doing 156 mph. Yeah, I was young and dumb. I'm currently driving a new Chevy Bolt EV lol. Keep up the gr8 work. 🚗🇺🇸🔌⚡👍
It's so cool there. I was there 2017. Driving from Denver to Las Vegas, around Area 51 then to Wendover and back to Denver over Wyoming. Really really nice views. I was driving a 2016 VW Jetta from Hertz from the Airport Denver. Once in a lifetime experience for me. I am from Germany. Born in 1985.
It seems the recent software takes the daily charge limit into consideration when route planning. I’ve found setting that to 70-80% prevents the ridiculous 50 minute stop estimates.
love the road trips, thanks for the ride
46:41 seeing the wheel spin into position was cool.
drone shots are awesome and desirable
The Cybertruck should also have a filter on the super charge routing to only set for version 3 supercharger waypoints.. I have that set on my Model Y only version 3's.
All teslas should have this feature, not just the cybertruck
Care to tell us how you did that?
How to filter that? I only see 3, 2 or 1 Lightning when searching for Chargers.
Oh cool. How?
I can't believe all tesla owners don't know this. Take the time and Read the manual, lol
I did.
Thanks for the content Jordan 🙌
Tesla needs to add some adjustable routing preferences. It's the same thing when I road trip in my Model 3. I almost never follow it's routing. V2's over V3's is common. It often plans long charging sessions which are not my preferred way to travel. Also it seem to always want to arrive with a min SOC in 30s. 🙄
YES. I can’t imagine roadtripping CT given these issues and consumption you have to stop often for over 30m and doing custom routing instead of suggested nav is crazy
More roadtrip presentations and EV reviews by Jordan and fewer by Mr. Conner, please! I for one appreciate that if he doesn't know exactly all the facts about an EV issue he admits it straight out but easily continues with his narrative. His cinematography and accompanying narration is excellent. Carry on Jordan, you're doing great.
I absolutely love that drive through the Virgin River Gorge because it’s an incredible area and if you are leaving beautiful Utah, it’s your last blast of beautiful country!
Absolutely drone shots add an extra element of interest & excitement to your already great videos.
jordan really brings something good to the channel. Great original observations.
It’s good these videos exist. I didn’t realize I would never be able to tolerate the charge planning bullshit. I got irritated about it from my couch. 😂
Thank You Everybody for All that you are doing for our Planet Earth....
Peace.. Shalom.. Salam.. Namaste
🙏🏻 😊 ✌ ☮ ❤ 🕊
Drone shots are always worth it :)
Good good good oneJordan Ty for ur effort
Drone shots are SO worth it!
I have had that happen on my 2023 Tesla Model Y Long Range AWD, 35KW is the fall back on cable cooling failure, had this happen about 5 time in the last year, but what I kept forgetting is to check on which chargers on the location details are having issues, the routing will detail what stations are having issues so best to check before plugging in.
look at all the garbage on the freeway in Los Angeles, way to go Mayor Bass
Saw my first Cybertruck in the wild yesterday. Just south of Sedalia, Colorado on Highway 105 which roughly parallels I-25. And it was wrapped in black. Very cool.
👍great
The gorge and the Cajon Pass are the best parts of that road trip! Drone shots would be cool
Another banger Jordan!! OOS Motoring is still my favorite channel on UA-cam.
Quick question, what audio are you using in these videos? If anyone has any ideas please let me know :D
Great video Jordan. No disrespect to Kyle however drone shots are worth the time.
Re Cybertruck sightings… I live next to a Tesla holding lit for the South Bay Area in Calif. dozens and dozens of Cyber Trucks have been flowing thru the lot and I see the, multiple times a day. I have had the experience of sitting at a large intersection literally surrounded by Teslas. This area must have the highest density of Teslas anywhere.
Yes to Drone flights. That area is magnificent.
love the motoring videos !
loved the music in this video
You might want to check the navigation settings to make sure you’re not telling it to avoid interstates.
I love the fading in background music on this one
I think setting up a new Red Bull style F-1, high-speed drone shot/sequence that auto-launches from the bed of the Cybertruck, follows you, does some programmed pan, zoom, etc. shots and lands back in the truck bed would be great. :)
45:51 I think stopping for drone shots is always worth it, especially with scenery like that, as it helps provide context. Co-incidentally, Out Of Spec Dave just posted a video showing his first use of drones...
Jordan, you are always awesome, level headed and overall the coolest Out of Spec employee! Thank you for showing us how fast you were going when you were above the Califonia speed limit of 70mph.
Great trip video Jordan! I agree with you about drone shots etc. When I think of tech channels, the differences between the “big guys” I watch like MKBHD that have millions of subscribers and smaller channels that are still successful with hundreds of thousands of subs is production quality. One of the reasons many of us loved the old Top Gear was how amazing they made the cars look using creative videography.
Kyle is wrong. It is so worth it! That is a beautiful part of AZ.
Pro-tip: The reason you don't have to wait in line at V3 Superchargers is because Trip Planner routes a lot of Teslas to V2 Superchargers. You'd better hope that you don't get your wish that Tesla "fixes" their trip planning software to send everyone to clog up the V3s when only enthusiasts care about the 3-5 minute difference in charging time. And no, the Trip Planner software should not be different just because he's in a Cybertruck.
I highly recommend Chill Mode. I’m getting less than 400 Wh and it also takes away that jerkiness. Comfort setting makes it smoother on the bumps.
Def worth the jordan touch to the videos. Keep them coming, you need more screen time!
Drone shots for sure.
Nee Fi - Nice work
You guys should stop in Hurricane / Sand Hollow some time to see which EV best handles the sand to get to their Top of the World. Maybe a crossover with Matt's off-road recovery 😁
agree about the Virgin River Valley - it is really impressive (if you get the chance) to be up at Commercial Truck height - you can really appreciate the flow of the water.
1:01:44 I think aggressive speeding might've had something to do with shaving off an hour.
Thank you for all the realism Jordan. I always enjoy your videography as well as your honesty. Though I see from an earlier comment that you can filter to V3 chargers, of course the car you would think would try to minimize your travel times, but I believe Tesla tries to minimize their costs by avoiding demand charges and routing vehicles by default to V2 chargers.
Or they want to minimize battery degradation from fast charging to avoid excessive warranty claims?
I can't unhear him saying "tezla" over and over
Maybe I buy a Tesla Cybertruck used in 2045.
I am next door from your LA hotel every week (Bread Lounge) and at coffee bars a few blocks away. There are several level 2 stations within a block or two from the hotel, and two Supercharger sites a few blocks away.
Nephi is pronounced "Knee Fi"
Mesquite also has an EA station that's a lot more convenient than at least one of the Superchargers (the one at the Casino). Overall, outside of Barstow and Vegas, most of chargers are fairly convenient to access from the freeway.
Its a good thing to show off these routes. I doubt I'll get to drive them anytime soon
Charge handle Cooldown idea: you need one of the towels that are for cooling your neck... you wet it, snap to super chill then wrap... as it warms up snap again and it will rapid chill the cloth....
Jordan! You are always awesome!!
you give great insight on just about everything other than what you paying for each charging session i would like that information
Assume .35c in the rural areas and .44-.55 in the city.
FYI, Virgin River Gorge is in Arizona, not Utah. So Mesquite is right on the edge of Arizona.
Open the charge port door while you're still in the Cybertruck. Takes a split-second. Then you won't have to fiddle with the button on the charger or wait for it to open.
Tesla wants people on the V2's.
Maybe. It's actually quite a good idea if you're after a longer lunch stop, but there should be an easy option to avoid V2s if you're in a rush.
But why? To prevent faster battery degradation and warranty claims?
@@artemZinn More likely to spread the load between sites and decrease potential congestion at V3 sites. Perhaps they haven't optimised their algorithm yet though; it didn't look overly busy at the V3 sites.
Question? I was wondering the hotel that you’re at there was a table with chairs, were those chairs and table made for adults?
Hello Jordan
Kyle is wrong about drone shots not being worth stopping, & / or slowing down. In my opinion, drone shots are always worth stopping, & / or slowing down.
You should plan a trip up to the middle of South Dakota. I was talking to a friend of mine about getting an electric truck. He likes to hunt in South Dakota and was worried about a charging desert. I said that's not a problem. So I whipped out my ABRP and using my R1T from Fort Collins to a small town in the middle of SD I discovered he was correct. We are planning to go to Rapid City SD and then over to Southern MT this summer and it looks like we can do that route. But there are one or two slow chargers. Also make a trip to Calgary. I tried to plan one from Calgary to Vancouver with my R1T which worked well. But I noticed some of the Superchargers won't handle NACS. Is that a problem in Canada.
46:35 you open the door and the wheel turns on it's own. Steer by wire doing something purposeful there?
“Not great” efficiency? You’re going 87 mph!
While in Salt Lake City be sure to stop by Kindigit Design and see if Dave Kindig, the greatest Custom car builder in the world, can make the Cybertruck look better.
Huge miss not having V4 chargers and larger battery on Cybertruck. I have delayed my delivery for this and the 20k foundation tax with no FSD currently
Yes add some drone shots. BTW, I’m heading from Ft Worth through El Paso in February. Where should I go after EP? I’m thinking San Diego, Vegas, Utah, elsewhere. Not sure what the prettiest EV friendly route would be. Any suggestions?
Great unbiased log. You can think whatever you like about design and so on, but one has to conclude Tesla did release an unfinished product. Also the charging situation is certainly showcasing short term strategic decisions about charger specifications, because of which Tesla now has to curtail their product. I mean boosting amperage to 700A is certainly not the way to go and I wonder what's long term issues for their hardware, if they keep on running those chargers at or above product specifications.
Great Video!
Is it just me or in a straight line the steering wheel is a little bit offset to the left, for example at 7:36?
@martinatanasov1279: I thought so at first too. But, it is clearly the sunlight that causes the steering wheel effect to look like it is off center.
OOS Dave once mentioned that the cable gauge was the only physical indicator between L2 & L3 chargers. L2 was the thicker gauge if I recall correctly. 53:58
You answered my question, thanks.
I have heard there is a silver trim piece that makes it easy to distinguish from a distance
smiles, holiday inn express is good, lol
My Model Y does a lot of the same UI/Nav issues with weird reroutes, arrival SOC glitches after unplug, and the phantom traffic ETAs. Must be bugs in the software, since Tesla is quite aggressive when rolling out new firmware.
DRONE SHOTS ARE ALWAYS WORTH IT
FYI, Nephi is pronunced "Nee-Fy"
Does the route planner consider hills as you road trip? Only asking because that would affect range percentages
More drone shots please.
Obviously, a software upgrade needed for the CT Navigation in addition to Autopilot and FSD.
Almost Tea time brb
Back for a bit
Jordan, drone shots make a video great. Your general video shots have improved Kyle's lazy driving style of dirty windshields and that is getting old to be honest.
90mph u kept hitting is also not helping range…..
Man this looks much more painful than road tripping same path we took a year ago in M3P. Part of it is surely software issues, but just the charging time is killing the mood, every 145m or so stop for 30-40 minutes.. oof
I still keep my preorder, but honestly given the number of issues with CT I’ll prob wait to pick up used Dual Motor for < $80k
My guess is to why the software is routing you to 150kw Chargers for the health of the battery. Charging at 150 KW versus 250 KW is less stressful on the battery pack.
Display time zone with the time.
have you had any problems with the beast?
You're wasting Kyle's money with that hotel!
Rain likes to fall on mountain tops. You are in the valleys.
Guys who've never loaded a truck with disco back ground music....again.
Your rear view mirror is on central screen? That’s weird
This kind of indulgent speeding doesn’t really save much time but it does waste energy and cause more traffic disruptions.
lol how he says Nephi
I honestly think those chargers that quickly derate to roughly 35kW had their handles/cables wrapped with wet towels before. Causing damage to them.
PLEASE DON'T CIRCUMNAVIGATE SAFETY DEVICES WHEN YOU ARE DEALING WITH 250 KILOWATTS OF POWER!
