Hi Kara and Nate, great video in the Cybertruck, I really enjoyed it. The object you all saw was a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launch from Vandenberg AFB in Lompoc, CA. The plume around it is called the jellyfish effect. It occurs during morning launches and evening launches when the sun hasn't risen down on Earth, but it already has it space. It is the sunlight reflecting off of the rocket's plume. The yellow object you all saw that was falling from the sky was the booster landing on the droneship. The descending light would have been the first stage booster coming in for a soft landing after separating from the second stage. There's a landing zone at Vandenberg that they use occasionally for this, but most of the time the requirements of the launch mean that the first stage lands on the drone ship Of Course I still Love You in the Pacific Ocean. This is now so routine that it's easy to forget what a technical achievement it is; they bring the first stage from 50 miles up, travelling at mach 10, to a soft landing on an autonomous drone ship bobbing about in the middle of the Pacific.

Both of you make even a Tesla look amazing (I'm not really a car fan). What fascinated me even more was the scenery you were in. I was raised in Los Angeles. Most every weekend was spent driving and camping in Joshua Tree National Park. Back then (1960s), the park was really desolate. We watched the stars at night, and like you, saw occasional launches and satellites in the heavens. I thoroughly enjoyed your enthusiasm and energy for the adventure. And it brought back nice memories from my childhood. Thank you. Blessings and prayers sent for you as you continue your health journey.

That “UFO” is a Falcon 9 Launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base (where I work!), the desert out there is one of the best places to see the jelly fishing the booster does and the landing of the booster. Such a cool experience!!
Loved your video! Best review of suspension I've seen and you opened/closed the doors with ease which I appreciated seeing. Wish you had Sentry mode on so we could see what was banging your truck the first night!
It's literally quite a bit smaller (but with more space) than a Ford F150* and roughly the same size as the Ford Transit/VW Transporter/Fiat Ducato etc. Pickups builders in Europe drive. *: Cybertruck is 9 inches shorter (223.74 vs 232.7) and 1 inch thinner 95.01 vs. 96.0) than an F150 Lightning without all-wheel-steer. It also has a 6 inch longer (72.92 vs. 67.1) and 0.4 inch wider (between the wheel arches, 51 vs 50.6) bed than the F150.
I would argue that it's probably a good thing that the Cybertruck stays in the USA, my car fits like 2,5 times in that thing, I wouldn't want to encounter it on the fine Dutch roads.@@FilipWinter
That UFO was Space-X's Falcon 9. They have 4 objects you can see. The booster, the cargo payload and the fairings (the shields that protect the payload) either satellites or manned crew. Verify it at space-X. But you had perfect evening/sunset launch. Bravo! So all four parts reflect the sun, and yes you saw the sound barrier AND stage separations of the booster and ship.
Hearing that the #1 worry at night when camping out in the US is getting robbed/murdered, makes me appreciate living in Norway where you can legally pitch a tent just about anywhere without a single worry in the world.
That is on thing i miss from Sweden growing up we could just put up a tent more or less anywhere and being okay here in the US its absolutely not the same is it as bad everywhere no US is crazy big
$3,000 for that tent?! No way. For under $1,000 you can get a great tent from LL Bean or REI and some extras (like a good air mattress). The truck is very cool, but set up a better tent on the ground next to it.
We will see 3rd party tents for the Cybertruck soon. Let's see if they find a way to incorporate more features. * Faster set up and tear down. Rigid air filled tubes are nice and fast(could be faster and easier with an electric pump). Until it gets a hole. * Use the available electricity of the Cybertruck. * Easier entry and exit.
I’m not trying to be rude but rooftop tents are pricey, especially ones that come from the manufacturer that are cut for your cars dimensions. 3k is expensive all in all, but compared to others I’ve seen it’s not outrageous. Also if 3k is outrageous to you after buying a 6 figure car, maybe don’t buy the option lol
For 50 bucks I can put an air mattress in my kia niro and camp with air conditioning for more than a month on a tank of gas because the engine only turns on for 5 minutes every 30 minutes to charge the battery. I love camping in my hybrid mini SUV, as pod camping. I've camped a lot in my life, and nothing even comes close to how comfy it is to have mobile air conditioning.

That Basecamp seemed a bit overpriced (as most things Tesla), but there are a few cool features. Google what that basecamp tent is advertised as looking like, and then look at the one on this video. It's complete garbage. This entire video was paid for by Tesla
28:19 - Air Fryer 2,500 Watts + Kettle 1,500 Watts adds up to 33 Amps at 120 Volts. The outlets in the Tesla Cybertruck are rated up to 20 Amps combined (which is 5 amps more than a standard outlet in your home). How you didn't melt that extension cord or blow a circuit breaker is amazing. You can buy 20 Amp extension cords, which are identifiable as the left blade of the plug will be oriented horizontal while the right blade is vertical. The T-shaped receptacle in the Cybertruck accommodates both 15 and 20 amp plugs.
the kettle can be 2,500watts too. Mine is. And I run the kettle alongside a hotplate on a single cord so often. Did not give a thought about melting. The trick is that the kettle does not run more than 2 minutes. Maybe 3 if is full. And by the way, 2 percent of the battery is quite a lot. Half an hour for airfryer, is 1 1.25 kwh, plus the kettle still far from 2 kwh I have no idea of the battery capacity, but I assumed that is a lot more than 100 kwh
I'm with you, a $3k tent should almost set itself up, or be exceptionally easy. Either way, it should be extremely well designed, durable, etc. AKA worth the $3k. BTW, what you saw was on of SpaceX's launches. I saw the same thing and it was really weird to see and not know what it was.
Btw, love the super honest review and how you guys show everything. As a Tesla owner since 2016 (Model S, 3 and now Y) I can tell you this: same as the person who designed that tent is not a camper, goes for those who actually design the car and develop the software and interface: they've never even sat in the car. And if they did, then they just love messing with people and still seeing how the fan boys get excited about crap 😂. But other than those little details, they are amazing vehicles.

The Cybertruck just feels like it's half thought through/a concept car. The powered inflator for the tent could also be for tires, since you usually slightly deflate for off roading but will want to fill back up before hitting the highway. They could build a compressor into the truck - that would be great for cyclists too.
I understand that endorsements are a part of the business model, but this one didn't quite captivate me. I much prefer the videos showcasing adventures like the Everest Base Camp and biking across the country. Hawking Elons stuff, I found it challenging to stay engaged beyond 15 minutes. Still, I wonder what caused that noise against the truck in the middle of the night - I might have missed out by not watching till the end. It's great to hear that Kara has frequented California multiple times since embarking on these videos eight years ago. California is such a diverse and captivating place to explore! A warm welcome to both of you!
I can’t imagine someone with that much money would buy the cyber truck basecamp. Seems like a lot of work and inconvenience. Easier for them to drive to the Waldorf Astoria.
It is a waste 💩 Like many are saying under this video, There are cute trailers out there with twice the space of that thing that they put together, that has regenerative breaking on the wheels. Plus, it does not cost as much as that *_"pain in the butt, bad after thought"_* truck bed tent.
Glad you two had fun with it, but this just reinforced that its not a vehicle I would ever consider. It's really not an attractive design, and there's some serious (well publicized) safety issues with everything being controlled by the touchscreen. Also, for $3000 the tent should be self-inflating.
From someone who camps - for $3,000 it should be WAY more convenient. The manual pump is just ridiculous.

Electricity is invisible, so it feels like it should be free - Nate
You can pay somebody a little money to camp on their land for free - also Nate
😂😂
Made me laugh so hard - both of it hahaha
You guys are so blessed.
The truck absolutely stands out so it wouldn’t surprise if someone did come up to it in the middle of the night.
Found myself wishing the video was longer!! Thanks for sharing!!
How coincidental to be testing out the cybertruck as a spaceX launch is happening lol
Right!!??
they launch so much, (maybe every three days?), so not too coincidental.
@@floydnelson92 yeah, 2 or 3 days I think.
7:40 "just really going with the kitchen theme here" 😂
Can wait to watch. Your videos are the thing I wait for every week.
Never got a chance to say thank you to you guys ive been a sub for a very long time and you have inspired me to travel alone and stop waiting on others. I am more comfortable and CONFIDENT IN LIFE AND TRAVEL! thank you!
Y'all are living my dream.....thank you for sharing it so I can at least live through you.
I love the editing style on this video! I felt like you guys did some more funny stuff and I appreciated it
That “UFO” is a Falcon 9 Launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base (where I work!), the desert out there is one of the best places to see the jelly fishing the booster does and the landing of the booster. Such a cool experience!!
What an epic place to work!!! I saw a launch from Pismo Beach and no mushroom effect visible still awesome though!!
I definitely came to the comments hopping some one would say what it was I really wanted to know so neat
thx
Loved your video! Best review of suspension I've seen and you opened/closed the doors with ease which I appreciated seeing. Wish you had Sentry mode on so we could see what was banging your truck the first night!
33:08 Kara calling out "Eloooon" had me in pieces! Yeah, Eloooon! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Comming from Europe, the cybertruck is just... HUUUGE! like just when kara (or even nate) is standing next to it is chocking! Love you guys❤
Elon Musk says everyone should 'move on' from focusing on racism
Yeah it's illegal in the EU, not safe enough for other road users. It kills too many people😅
Very cool adventure. Thanks for sharing your perspective and your birthday camping trip in the cybertruck. Brilliant idea! 🎉
Happy Birthday Nate! 🥳
Hearing that the #1 worry at night when camping out in the US is getting robbed/murdered, makes me appreciate living in Norway where you can legally pitch a tent just about anywhere without a single worry in the world.
Norway is that chill huh
Just don't go on an Island without any defensive measures cuz' .... well your Government knows better
That is on thing i miss from Sweden growing up we could just put up a tent more or less anywhere and being okay here in the US its absolutely not the same is it as bad everywhere no US is crazy big
The thump they were hearing against the cyber truck could have been an animal.
Not a lot of blackies over there uh
That yellow light in the tent reminds of a different yellow line in a snow cave not too long ago😂
We'd Like to See the Chain of Custody on Elon Musk's Pee After the Drug Allegations
YES!! I've just been waiting patiently for this video for the past hour!!! 🎉🎉🎉❤❤ Thanks Kara & Nate
Great video, guys! I loved it! Also - Happy Birthday to Nate!
“She drives like her mom.”
“Which is like an old lady love you mommy ❤”
Idk why but that was so cute to me 😂❤
I think the price point warrants way higher expectations regarding practicality and comfort.
You guys are awesome. You two have unlimited energy💪. Thank you for testing the tent out. You saved so many people 3k.
Kara’s door closing method is the best😂
I still can’t believe they didn’t buy a $10 air inflator at Walmart when they charged up
$3,000 for that tent?! No way. For under $1,000 you can get a great tent from LL Bean or REI and some extras (like a good air mattress). The truck is very cool, but set up a better tent on the ground next to it.
No kidding we spent like $600 at REI for a nice tent and sleeping pads and a few other things.
* Easier entry and exit.
On the ground? Serious fail right there.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATE! 🎉🎉🎉
Nate saying he “chucked a uie” (as in u turn made) my Australian heart so happy.
We Canadians say that, too.
Originally form Michigan, and we also use this term. But it does have a very Australian feel to it. Lol. 😊
I thought everybody said that im in massachusetts
We've been saying that in America since the 50's.
americans have been using that term for many years.
3000 for a tent to be manually inflated?!?!?! Heck NO!!! Happy Birthday Nate🎉❤🎉❤
Tesla needs to put a battery in the frunk and its range will still be low
@@TheAnnoyingBoss the range extender goes in the bed.
@@Dularr how fake and gay is that? It has a frunk. Why not put it there and keep the bed open and useful as barely useful as it is at its high price and low endurance. Get rid of all that self popping junk cluttering up the front. It hss a massive lockingntailgate a fatty can stand on top bro what does it need a frunk foor the windows are an inch thick you can lock your stuff inside. The thing struggles to go 300 miles man an f150 is crap but it has endurance. Honda figured out the plastic valve cover on the 2 liter naturally aspirated with the launchgear cvt i still dont like but the crap jatco is worth more than its value in an nissan altima on a long roadtrip because you dont have to stop and charge every 200 miles for 30 minutes if youre lucky. Needs morr battery anywhere they can fit one man big one small one. Flat one long one stick em in there man or figure out how to pack more energy in a smaller space. Why is it so dystopian sharo and ugly that really stuck with a total of 8 bit. Why not 16 maybe so you could curve a sharp spot some or soemthing? 😂 this looks like if it does roll over its stuck upside down. Can you get out? Will anyone even be able to get you out as it starts smoking and you did behind thick glass the average male around cant break
@@TheAnnoyingBoss using 'gay' as an insult is homophobic.
@@TheAnnoyingBoss it's going to be safety. With a head on collision, the Cybertruck is going to crush up to the passanger compartment. The fronk is secondary. It's a crush zone.
This is what a good UA-cam video looks like! Well done.
The oranges to apples 🤣 Kara you always CRACK ME UP!! And Nate I ALWAYS end up saying Kate and Nara 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm so glad that you guys were able to explore the Cybertruck. I've seen several videos where it was all just sunshine & unicorns, but as always, you two keep it real! That Basecamp seemed a bit overpriced (as most things Tesla), but there are a few cool features. No matter how you feel about it, nothing gets you attention quite like driving around in one of those _Back to the Future 4_ type vehicles! 😊
Google what that basecamp tent is advertised as looking like, and then look at the one on this video. It's complete garbage.
This entire video was paid for by Tesla
I’m so happy I found you guys on UA-cam 😊😊😊
Oh yes my favorite couple on UA-cam Nate and Kara 😂 oranges and apples
By the way, K&N... I'd like to see your vlogs driving in a van in Ireland...
White House condemns Elon Musk post as, 'antisemitic and racist hate'
Elon Musk claims Ireland’s prime minister ‘hates the Irish people’
omg my cousins tried to do that and it was sooo bad haha
This was most entertaining, informative, and enjoyable. Y'all make a great team! 👏 Thank you! 🙂
You never fail to give a solid honest review about a product this is why your sponsored so much ❤
🎉Happy Birthday Nate🎉
Cool truck. That tent needs a whole lot of rethinking for that price point though.
Thanks for sharing 😊
Much ❤
HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATE!!!!!!🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
The Cybertruck gives me 1990 Total Recall vibes!
Rekall is involved in this project?
It gives me "junkyard garage" vibes
this is the only full walkthrough/review of a Tesla I watched all the way through and believed. Y'all are presh.
love you guys x
Half an hour for airfryer, is 1 1.25 kwh, plus the kettle still far from 2 kwh
I have no idea of the battery capacity, but I assumed that is a lot more than 100 kwh
Nice ...clear ... honest review.... that's why I always like both of you 😊
I am waiting for your next blog... I hope we will get it a bit early ... please 😊
This mother-son duo is so cute! 🥰
Every time I look at the Cybertruck with the Basecamp attached, I just see an over-engineered Pontiac Aztek.
I agree: Just the worst design ever..... like the project was tasked to 3rd graders with a handful of paper and crayons.
Yes!
Or a vehicle from an early 2000s PlayStation game.
Yeh the car is super ugly and not convenient for towing or off road or during winters haha. I saw bunch of teslas and cybertrucks getting stuck and frozen during the cold season, im good on that. Im just not a fan of it, i could get a better truck for that money and waiting for it to charge is also a disadvantage for long drives
Really great video. Thanks for making it.
This was such a fun episode! You both looked awesome in black in front of the silver. The fingerprints would drive me nuts and I am too introverted for all that attention when you drove it.
Good news. You can wrap the Cybertruck. I'm liking the matte black wrap.
I’m not sold on the cybertruck, but Kara did such an amazing job showcasing it. Then again, Kara is charming enough to make a plot of land in the Mojave Desert look good to a fish! Love the video guys!
Also, as somebody who doesn’t understand cars or trucks and neither does, she felt nice having her explain it made me feel a little less stupid, because I understood what she was saying
@@tinysatan1155 Yes, she’s very personable and down to earth. Easy to relate to!
Hey guys!! Love your pick for the Fare Drop gig! Would ❤love to see both couples - K&N with Detour Duo on some adventures together to introduce your audience to Tony and Sara.. that would be super fun 🥳😍😋
Long time listener would love for you guys to get back to economy, travel, and showcase that I feel with inflation so high in the US it would be great to see highlights of where we can go on economy throughout the world like the OG videos from the beginning keep it up
Yes!! I’m getting tired of all of the first class trains/planes, luxury trucks, and luxury lounges. Those videos have gotten old
As a day 1 minute 1 Cybertruck reservation holder AND a long time Kara and Nate subscriber/viewer, I thoroughly enjoyed this video! Great work!
This was great 🔥 thanks for sharing
I don't think they were paid by Tesla. Tesla may have encouraged them to do a review, but I don't believe they were actually compensated directly.
I love yall! So funny and entertaining.
I can’t imagine someone with that much money would buy the cyber truck basecamp. Seems like a lot of work and inconvenience. Easier for them to drive to the Waldorf Astoria.
no waldorf astoria in the desert! ....yet 😭
Its called the base camp because theres no charging station out in tge middle nowhere, where you cant really go with this
It is a waste 💩
Like many are saying under this video, There are cute trailers out there with twice the space of that thing that they put together, that has regenerative breaking on the wheels.
Plus, it does not cost as much as that *_"pain in the butt, bad after thought"_* truck bed tent.
Fun! But I would definitely expect automatic inflation of the basecamp, tech outlets, and fingerprint proof exterior.
This is my first (and last) exposure to this couple. All that fake cuteness from the woman. Sickening.
Glad you two had fun with it, but this just reinforced that its not a vehicle I would ever consider. It's really not an attractive design, and there's some serious (well publicized) safety issues with everything being controlled by the touchscreen. Also, for $3000 the tent should be self-inflating.
