    Who are Kara and Nate?!
Watch our documentary here: • 100th COUNTRY DOCUMENTARY
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment.
We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted ;)
So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world.
Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went back home to “normal life.” We started this channel to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with living on the road and found a new passion for capturing our travels through video. So we did everything we could to keep going.
4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time!
After ~2 years of van life, we are back to full time international traveling! And now we are in our 9TH YEAR of finding the best adventures the world has to offer :)
We are incredibly grateful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎 Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey!

Haha! Your UFO was a SpaceX rocket. When they launch during sunset, you get what's called the "twilight effect". This is when the ground is completely dark but the sun is still able to illuminate the exhaust gases high up in the atmosphere.
This doesn't happen often, so I can fairly confidently say that this video was filmed on April 1!

Don't know when they filmed this, but SpaceX have had 11 launches from Vandenberg in 2024 so far. The descending light would have been the first stage booster coming in for a soft landing after separating from the second stage. There's a landing zone at Vandenberg that they use occasionally for this, but most of the time the requirements of the launch mean that the first stage lands on the drone ship Of Course I still Love You in the Pacific Ocean. This is now so routine that it's easy to forget what a technical achievement it is; they bring the first stage from 50 miles up, travelling at mach 10, to a soft landing on an autonomous drone ship bobbing about in the middle of the Pacific.

28:19 - Air Fryer 2,500 Watts + Kettle 1,500 Watts adds up to 33 Amps at 120 Volts. The outlets in the Tesla Cybertruck are rated up to 20 Amps combined (which is 5 amps more than a standard outlet in your home). How you didn't melt that extension cord or blow a circuit breaker is amazing. You can buy 20 Amp extension cords, which are identifiable as the left blade of the plug will be oriented horizontal while the right blade is vertical. The T-shaped receptacle in the Cybertruck accommodates both 15 and 20 amp plugs.

I don't know if it has been clarified yet, but the cut a carrot with the lid is because the frunk doesn't have pressure sensors, so if you put a carrot under it when it's open, then push the button to close it, it will chop the carrot in half without stopping. The main concern is people losing fingers.

That’s actually false, it does have a sensor. Someone tested it with their hand with a protective glove on and it did stop. The reason it chops off the carrot is because a carrot is actually quite brittle. It wouldn’t chop off a finger. Still, they’re sending an OTA update to make the sensor more sensitive.

$3,000 for that tent?! No way. For under $1,000 you can get a great tent from LL Bean or REI and some extras (like a good air mattress). The truck is very cool, but set up a better tent on the ground next to it.

We will see 3rd party tents for the Cybertruck soon. Let's see if they find a way to incorporate more features.
      * Faster set up and tear down. Rigid air filled tubes are nice and fast(could be faster and easier with an electric pump). Until it gets a hole.
      * Use the available electricity of the Cybertruck.
      * Easier entry and exit.

Seems to me an easy option for everyday, would be to have the back seat fold flat into a bed and a panel that opens up into the back covered bed area of the truck, so you could sleep in the back seat and truck bed area. It would be roomy enough for someone over 6 feet tall and you'd have access to the screen for movies, etc.

Good review and yep anyone using it regularly would soon ditch the manual air pump for an electric inflator.
This setup seems useful for unexpected situations or going long distances and or off road where a caravan, trailer or campervan could not go or would reduce the vehicles range and increase energy consumption - the basecamp tent wont affect the Cybertruck aerodynamics or handling as it folds up to a compact size.
I like that it does not take up any tray floor space so you could just leave it installed on the Cybertruck most of the time.

It should also have a decent gauge extension cord built in so people don't start fires pulling too much through tiny extension cords. That leg design is dumb... So many better options that aren't as easily damaged. The camping kit should also come with a plug in cooler since it has so much power to share. Glad you guys were able to check it out and share it! The should be a basic foldout stair attached to the bottom so jumping or rock climb jumping to get in won't be needed (again, disability issue but still hand for people with less upper body strength). Easy access electrical sockets SHOULD be a basic obvious feature.

Crazy how you guys rented the exact same cyber truck from the same guy that PrestonGoes rented from!

I have seen many reviews on the Cybertruck, but your down to earth and honest review actually made me want a Cybertruck even more. Well done and thanks for sharing. It really is a sports car you can camp in and the fact the battery can power some high-powered appliances and not use up a lot of range was pretty informative.

Kara definitely needs to find a comfortable driving position further back from the steering wheel. If the airbag goes off she will be severely injured. It's not a fluffy, pillow that cushions you. It's made of fire resistant coated nylon and sometimes Kevlar and uses a chemical to deploy. They can break facial bones, damage your eyes, break or dislocate your jaw, knock out and break teeth (my sister had thousands of $$$ of dental work done to fix hers after hitting an airbag after sitting too closely), and you can get burns from the chemical explosion that sets them off which has been known to causes permanent scars.

Its a well know issue for women. Im 5ft4 and I'm at risk of getting my chest crushed by airbag inflation in an accident but if i sat any further back i wouldnt be able to control the vehicles safely.

@@rosacanisalba it's an issue for men and women that are short-statured, but the way she sits isn't because of her height, it's just how she does it. Her arms are bent in a tight V. She can back away from the steering wheel and still be able to be comfortable and control it.

I understand that endorsements are a part of the business model, but this one didn't quite captivate me. I much prefer the videos showcasing adventures like the Everest Base Camp and biking across the country. Hawking Elons stuff, I found it challenging to stay engaged beyond 15 minutes. Still, I wonder what caused that noise against the truck in the middle of the night - I might have missed out by not watching till the end.
It's great to hear that Kara has frequented California multiple times since embarking on these videos eight years ago. California is such a diverse and captivating place to explore! A warm welcome to both of you!

I don't think they were paid by Tesla. Tesla may have encouraged them to do a review, but I don't believe they were actually compensated directly.

35:20 Kinda, that was a SpaceX launch. Agree about the lack of an electric pump to inflate the tent given how close the charge ports are, that's inexcusable. There's a passthrough in the side of the tent to get to the ports though for phone charging and the like.

3000 dollars and the tent is already stuck. That's called a joke. My 100 dollar tent has never gotten the zipper stuck.

I wouldnt crucify elon musk but i disagree with his overpriced elitist junk tbh. This thing i think people are afraid to say ite band and crap because they wont be on X anymore. I just the truck is so bad i do the math on it too much its like this california dystopian pipe dream. Also, truth social less corrupted than x becsuse x is twitter and it wss cursed by satans in its bones or something man anything is better simply by being defaulted to brand new you make a new platform before you even coded it its less evil than twitter. Brain chips internet in the middle of nowhere its a dystopian nightmare people wake up
