I’m on day 5 of vertigo. Mine always starts during sleep. Seems every couple of years it comes on. Last time a chiropractor helped me. This time a bad dream started it or so it seems. I was very angry in the dream and then it turned to where I was under threat. Crazy, I think the emotions from the dream combined with sinus are cause. Don’t know but I am glad for your videos. Thanks 😃

thank you! Stress or anxiety can definitely trigger dizziness, especially 3PD. Or if you're stressed and tensing up, it could lead to cervicogenic dizziness. I think we all under estimate how intertwined our physical and emotional states are. The bad dream as a trigger is interesting! Have you looked into vestibular migraines? That's a diagnosis that can occur in episodes lasting days. Thanks for sharing!

So sorry to hear that. If it’s less than a minute, you may want to test for BPPV, but if it’s not, it can often be that your brain is having a hard time processing sensory information without your vision. Have you seen a vestibular specialist?

How do you break this anxiety/dizziness cycle? I was told that I may have 3pd but should get an vng. However my ent specialist told me that some patients have regretted doing the VNG because it made worse. I certainly don't need and more anxiety or dizziness/vertigo. Already feeling fearful...

I talk about that in my vertigo kickstart mini course and about how important mindset can be in overcoming vertigo. Sometimes anxiety can be more physiological than a cognitive or logical process, for example, gut dysbiosis can cause anxiety. I only recommend a VNG if my patients aren’t responding to therapy and further assessment is needed or if there are some red flags on my evaluation/the patient’s presentation is not fitting what I would expect for a vestibular disorder and I would want to confirm that there is no inner ear dysfunction. The VNG will make you dizzy if your inner ear system is intact, but you should recover after the testing, if you’re more sensitive to stimulation then it may last a bit longer. I would just consider if the testing is going to change your treatment. Let me know if you have any other questions!
