IT WORKS!!!!!! I got tinnitus about seven months ago. A friend told me it existed and I was so choked that I made the mistake to check if I had it at night. From that point on, my life was invaded by extremely annoying noises in both my ears that I had never noticed before. They grew louder every day and I started panicking seeing that all the sources online said it had no cure. I got depressed and anxious thinking it was for life. I went to the doctor to check it. I had no hearing loss, so he washed my ears and some of the noises disappeared, but a constant whistle persisted in my left ear. I tried B vitamins and it got a little better, but not enough to give me my peace of mind back. So I tried Yoga, Chinese medicine, some tinnitus apps… But nothing really worked. And then I found this video. I decided to take it seriously and would never stay in silence. When I got home, I would put on some music. When I had to go to a room without music, I would sing or talk to myself. At night, I would listen to podcasts before going to bed. When I woke up, I would get out of bed right away. At first, I would always think about my tinnitus. I was afraid to stay in silence and hear it again. But I was doing my best to constantly DISTRACT myself paying attention to the next thing that would come to my mind. About a week later, it started to get quieter. Then I had to resist ALL the temptations to check if it still existed. Now, about a month later, IT’S NOTHING. Even in silence, I forget about it. And I'm sure it will get to the point where I won't be able to hear it at all. I can’t thank you enough, @VikVeerENTSurgeon. You saved my mental health, I meant it. And for people struggling with tinnitus, please stay strong. I was never into meditation or anything like that, but I've learned that you can control your mind. :)
@@panayotpetkov8949 the point of listening to music/podcasts is to distract yourself so you won't pay attention to your tinnitus. if you stay silent paying attention to it, your brain will think you want to hear it and keep making it louder. it's well explained in the video.
I suffered from tinnitus about 3 months ago, and I am 21 years old. I felt very anxious about this, knowing that I am studying in medical school. I really left everything in my life and continued to search for a cure for this annoying tinnitus. I began not to read, I lost focus, I was really desperate, but with reading the comments, they really give me a boost. New hope for healing. May God heal you all. I am grateful to you
You can heal cancer, autoimmune disorders, eye sight, cavities and chronic illnesses. It’s all about what you put into your body food wise, and what you put on your skin organ. Also has to do with movement and less screen time. How you live affects your health. All the medical books have it listed as prevention but it’s also how you reverse many things. Reversing inflammation by not eating inflammatory foods and additives. Very new world of medical coming to the Americas in the next decade or so. Don’t mention them in medical school though, especially with pharmaceutical companies around. They will bully you and laugh you out of the room.
How are you feeling now? Did it go away? I’m having it right now, due to Eustachian Tube Dysfunction. Today will be two weeks, since it started. However, I was given antibiotics on Monday, called Augmentin. I don’t know if it will go away, after i’m done with it, or if it’s going to last for some time, or forever. Thank you!
Oh no, we are at the same age at these 3 weeks too. Please share your story and let’s share each other treatment. I’ve been stressed since I searched that Tinnitus mostly affect to eldery. So far I’ve been done consume methylprednisolone and other steroid + hyperbaric therapy + audiometry + B12 coenzyme. All of these is directed by the ENT Specialist. I am happy if we can get connected to share more story together, I dont know if I can drop any social media link here but I am on LinkedIn with the same username as seen in this account. Hope we can get rid of it 😊
@@mrchow3233 I hope for your recovery. Unfortunately, I went to three doctors and they told me that there is a problem with the auditory nerve, but I am not convinced of the diagnosis. There must be a treatable cause. I hope so.
I have tinnitus and I'm fine now. You can live with it. Dont fight it. Accept it as your new silence. It's not how loud it is, it's how much you don't give a damn about. It's take a bit of time. But you'll be fine
Depends. If having NPF like adhd or autism, then you are mentally stressed all time and that makes it lot harder.. and especially also if have muscle tension or pain, which worsens tinnitus as well.. And if deaf on other ear ..
God I hope so. Thank you so much for this comment. I have never heard this or thought of it and I'm struggling right now, but if I can't find any thing to curate, then this is really good thing to remember and honestly it's good to remember anyway. Thank you.❤❤
I started noticing tinnitus some 18 months ago, was really stressed out for a long time. 6 months ago I found this video, now I dont notice the tinnitus anymore. I never really comment on youtube videos but this one deserves it
unbelievable but after watched this video, my tinnitus was lower after one hour...it could be really how mentally strong you are, but as Vik said previosly, many of them on internet are spreading lies or want to make money on poor people, and than you go panic mode and make it only worse...so sad....stay strong and I believe it's not going to be a problem at all
I want to share a story for those suddenly experiencing tinnitus: A few months ago i have had an ear-infection which resulted in to sudden deafness on the right side. My hearing dropped to about 50% after auditory test. This went on for a few weeks and after my hearing came back i started hearing a high-pitched tone. This tone was constant for months and i was afraid i was going to live with this forever, but now.... 4 months later the tone is completely gone. I remember scrolling through comments, looking for people experiencing the same thing but couldn't find one so i thought i'd share mine. Big up to all people living with tinnitus. Stay strong. Vincent.
I’ve had tinnitus for decades. But once in a blue moon it stops for like 15 secs, the moment I realize it stopped and I feel that sensation of peace and relief, it instantly comes back. 😭
Think of this way, if a sound ringing in your ears is able to put you in misery and bounce your life off track anything really could have been the trigger
@@laserall it is just a sound, if this manages to bother u i cant imagine what else doesnt. I suffer from this too and probably have it worse than most people, theres many more things about your existance that define u, not solely this sound, learn to let go and enjoy
I've had tinnitus on and off for about 8 years. It's never gone away, but I rarely notice it at all. For the first few months I was in a terrible mental state, then when I learned to calm down it settled into the background. My tinnitus heightened a bit recently and is bothering me, but I know it'll settle down as it always does. Please please do not panic yourself, it gets better! Excersise is really helpful and make sure you get a full check up. When I have a virus, not enough sleep or am run down my symptoms increase dramatically, so keep in mind the worry period is TEMPORARY however unpleasant it may be.
i had it for a year now. I only felt it for a week or two after that for the past 10 months i don't even aware of it. Be careful prevent things that cause tinnitus to spike then you will be alright. @@sams81 Have you ever tried cutting sodium out of your life and cutting back on sugary food? It doesn't seem to bother everyone, it bothers me though. I found out sodium effects my tinnitus when I ate a big bowl of canned tomato soup. That was brutal, I was almost crying. I also take meds to sleep or I'd be in your position still. I've had tinnitus for 3 years now.
I listened to your video yesterday and it gave me hope. More than that; i had a wonderful night and even feel some relief. You're right: i'm convinced our brain can make a filter. Since yesterday i keep saying to my brain i'm not interested by this sound and try to focus my attention on all other sounds around me. I want to educate my brain to focus on other sounds. If my brain can learn how to play guitar it can learn listening to other sounds. Believe it or not, this night i woke up briefly and got the feeling my tinnitus was one tone lower. Now i'll use every moment to tell my brain "i'm not interested" and push him to focus on all other sounds, and there are many, always and everywhere. I haven tinnitus since 2019 with a strong increase for 4 weeks since a difficult emotional moment. There is hope and our brain is a tool we can use. I need to work on focus and attention. Let's not give to tinnitus the place it want to take in our life. Thank you for this video.
I have tinnitus for six years (more or less) and definitely the solution is to stop giving any importance to it. Anytime I think about it it comes back. Actually watching this video made my ringing a lot louder than it was before I watched it. I don't think I ever had some time without it, but the sound can get so low sometimes that I don't even noticed it. It's manageable for sure. Don't think it's the end of the world. Just stop caring about it and eventually it will die down. The moment you start giving it any attention, it will come back and annoy you.
Only people with high awareness can hear the ringing. Ringing is a very loud or low sound, it does not matter, it is in all people. if you focus on the ringing, you'll get in trouble with it. it's just like taking the breathing out of automatic mode. If you think about breathing, your automatic breathing will stop.
It's your body letting you know to focus and let it ring, and find out what muscle groups are around that ringing. For example, right now, I can hear the ringing but mentally, try to feel for it in your head and tell that muscle manually MOVE / RELAX / DRAIN / DRAIN DOWN TO MY THROAT!!! because the automatic system is not working. Try it and let me know because it sure worked for me (still ringing, but I can feel the blockage clearing up). Feel your throat fill up with junk. -- If you ignore it, then in a way, the sensation is dying, and the nervous system is not reporting back.
I couldn’t say it better myself. My experience exactly. I refused the offer of ‘help’ classes because talking about it etc just made it worse. I have had tinnitus in my right ear for about nine years and left ear about seven. At first i grieved for the lack of silence in my life. I am pleased to say i am handling it better now. I
I see all the stories about how people suffer with tinnitus and I just think mine must be really light and quiet. Have had it for years, like if a mosquito is nearby, it rarely ever actually bothered me. Same thing with visual snow, I rarely notice, but must be because mine is not that bad
This is deeper than Tinnitus. It is a better way of thinking. Think about it. Apply it to anything that is bothering you. THIS IS THE BEST TINNITUS VIDIEO ON THE INTERNET..
Spot on!! The first 2 years I tried rain machine at night, hubby said “when are you going to get rid of that thing,” He had tinnitus for 10 years and never told me. I thought yeah, he’s right. Since then I have horses and when Im outside I never thing of it. It’s not there. I like to listen to Calm app, sleep stories at night and I fall asleep like a baby. When I do notice the tinnitus I say thank you, acknowledge it, for reminding me, I am alive, Im grateful. Get on with job of enjoying life. ❤
This finally makes sense to me. My tinnitus started about a year ago. About 3 months in with my tinnitus I had already gone to an ENT and there was nothing they could do. I had no signs of hearing loss. However, I was drawing using an app on my iPad one day and after drawing for about an hour I stopped to go get a drink of water and noticed my tinnitus almost completely stopped. It went down in volume 95%. I ran to my wife and told her and was super exited but over the following week it gradually got louder until it was back where it was. After seeing this I think I’ll go back to drawing again. My mind is really focused when I draw but I never made the connection. Now this whole video makes sense. Back to the drawing board for me. ✍️ I hope this is what helps.
A night club caused my tittinus, went out to same nightclub a couple weeks later and it changed my tittinus and I don't really hear a buzz it undescribable now
I have had tinnitus for 6 years now and have been sucked in to a lot of videos looking for my money but offering no insite or solutions . I can't believe I stumbled onto this video . I found it reasonable and realistic you definitely no what your talking about you lived it and offered up a guarded hope. I can see myself making at the very least some positive headway. Insite is power thankyou my friend.
I had tinnitus a couple of decades ago, and I found that I could just mentally try to "turn it off" and it would go off. I did this every time it came back, and eventually, it stopped coming back. This is mentally taxing though. A week ago, it came back with a vengeance, and my attempts to just mentally turn it off as before failed. But I realized that I was panicking a bit, and making it worse by focusing on it. I found that it was reduced while watching this video, because of the calming tone. You've given me hope that I can suppress it again.
I'm laughing with relief, Vik. I'm crying as i write this. This video has done so much more for me than any doctor, for REAL. Bless you for life, Vik. I know my tinnitus will go away again and now that its back it will GO AWAY AGAIN. I KNOW IT. Thank you thank you thank you THANK YOU. I wish i could give you a big hug and a 100 dollar bill, you did so much for me. I will keep returning to this video, every time i need. Bless you for life
I've had tinnitus for 20 years. I have tried everything possible to cure or reduce my tinittus at great expense. This doctor has explained everything that tinittus sufferers need to know. I highly applaud him, and I am now going to try to apply some of his suggestions. Thank you for taking the time to make this video .
I don't know how to thank you enough, 4 months ago, i suddenly had a ringing in my left ear show up, which would get worse and worse. After many sleepless nights, and weeks filled with anxiety, i finally found this video. For the last 2 weeks, i always turned on the radio when i got home, and taught my brain to pay attention to the foreground, and not the background of what i hear. I can now comfortably say that THIS VIDEO is the cure to tinnitus. Even when i slightly hear it, my brain immediately switches to listening to something else again. I have shared this video with others that i know suffer from it, and it is helping them steadily as well. Looking forward to my tinnitus being completely gone in a few months. Again, thank you so much, this was a true savior for my mental health.

hello, i would just like to come back and update on my current state of tinnitus. (i posted my comment a while back when i first got tinnitus) when i first got it, it genuinely came out of nowhere. i know for some it’s due to exposure to loud noise or maybe some kind of injury, but i’m pretty sure i was just watching tik tok. the first moment i got it, i could have vomited, as gross as that description is, it’s true. i was so anxious, my nervous system was on such high alert that i couldn’t sleep. so, i found this video. it gave me hope that even if i wasn’t able to get rid of my tinnitus, i could live with it. i’ve had tinnitus for about a year now, i like to describe the sounds as high pitch silence. (basically a hissing but i don’t hear hissing) anyway, i came here to shed some light on tinnitus and how it still affects me. here’s the great part, it’s honestly doesn’t! i have become used to it after a couple weeks of having it. i also wouldn’t quite say it is quite either, but i rarely ever notice it now. even at when i’m going to sleep! crazy right?! but this isn’t to say i don’t have hard days, today is that day. (hence me posting this at 4 in the morning, lol) BUT i still am hopeful it will pass. this video gives me that hope, still. WE GOT THIS 😁😁…okay i should get some sleep now 😅
Did u get the covid vaccine by chance? If so, please dont get anymore. Its causing inflammation in the brain and causing ppl to get tinnutis horribly..happened to my mom.
I installed an frequency app, listened to a frequency slightly different than my own tinnitus. My brain started focusing on the ‘newly induced’ tinnitus, and forgot about my own tinnitus when the app stopped playing. Quite incredible. You present a very interesting hypothesis here in this video!
I started noticing a ringing almost 2 years ago. And everything this man is telling us is the absolute truth. I haven't manage to get completely rid of my tinnitus, it is still with me 24/7, but for the most part of the day I am able to not notice it. At night, i don't use any "tool" to sleep, I've just trained myself to doesn't think about it, doesn't give importance about it, and I am able to sleep like I always have. Some days, when the perception is that is louder than normally, it can gets very annoying, and what I do is to distract my brain with anything, music, white noise, games (that is really a good one), movies... anything that requires both requires my focus and relax me. It's an everyday fight, but we can win.
You are a very genuine, real & compassionate doctor. Thank you for giving people hope & not stealing our hope. Sad to say but the majority of doctors I met or listened to do not give hope. Thank you for making this video. Our subconscious mind is not always our friend. We need to talk to our mind and say no thank you, what you are wanting me to think is NOT real. That thought is not reality.
Hi all, I’ve been suffering from Tinitus for about 6 months now. Initially, it was really tough with the associated anxiety, stress and general panic. I love what the Dr has to say and really believe that you can’t let it change your life. Don’t let it control you, control it. Have a active life and distract yourself as much as possible by staying active and doing things. Try to stay away from silence, be outdoors and around people as much as you can. Interacting with people is the best way to distract you from the constant ringing. Obviously this doesn’t help much in those tough time in the night and morning, but the Docs advice definitely will! Stay positive guys! It’s the only way!
I’m so glad I found your sensitive video, dispelling lots of mythS about tinnitus. I loved your calm delivery and found my tinnitus went away whilst listening to your voice. Thank you for your time and effort on this one.
The first thing to tell your brain is that tinnitus is perfectly normal and absolutely nothing to worry about. Nothing is wrong with your ears or brain…you are a very sensitive and have hyper awareness….most people go through life in a dream like state…unaware of most of the things that are going on around them. People with tinnitus hear more and see more that the average person… Once you understand that your tinnitus is simply part of your super awareness and accept that it’s perfectly normal and nothing to worry about, it will cease to bother you. It worries you because you feel you cannot stop it,but once you understand that it’s perfectly normal and learn to accept it, the fear of it being something serious starts to fade, Just keep telling yourself it’s not harmful in any way and hearing it just confirms your super awareness. Self hypnosis is the key…😉
I don’t understand why he says a hearing aid is helpful for tinnitus. Can you explain? My ears are super sharp in hearing. I don’t want to hear more, I want to hear less!
The hearing aid has the ability to remove hearing tinnitus so you can hear without the constant noise. I was able to experience no tinnitus while wearing hearing aids during a test trial. However I did not want to spend the money since hearing aids are extremely costly. Years later I was no longer able to hear myself over the tinnitus so I would shout and annoy all around me. Then I spent the money for hearing aids and then it must have been worse since tinnitus still occurred with the hearing aid. Just my experience.
Today I learned that I have “subjective tinnitus.” I have normal hearing, measured via typical hearing tests in a doctor’s office. But when it gets very quiet, I always perceive high frequency hiss. But I can still literally hear a pin hit the table clearly. It seems that any kind of external audio stimulus masks this high frequency hiss. So it’s not impairing my hearing at all. It’s just very annoying that I can’t experience “pure silence.” No one I have talked to about this seems to experience this high frequency hiss. (Mainly friends and family, lay people not expert at sound/hearing issues.) This is why the phrase “the silence is deafening” seems to mean something different to me than most other people. The more quiet my environment, the “louder” I experience the high frequency hiss. For me, silence is truly deafening. It’s annoying, but it’s not really affecting my quality of life, since I’m normally listening to *something* during the day which masks the hiss.
I have had tinnitus throughout my life, lasting a few seconds for days to weeks at a time but never knew what was causing it. But the last time I had tinnitus was when I was spending many hours in my new yard in hot dry climate; hearing the constant ringing in my ears troubled me but I didn't know how to stop that annoying sound. At the same time, I also noticed how dry and dehydrated my body was becoming. So, I began hydrating my body (e.g. water from foods, fruit and veggie beverages, water, showers, spas, skin lotions) and as my body gained back the a normal amount of water for my body (and no edema) I had lost from the dry climate, the ringing in my ears stopped. I have not had tinnitus since then and that was 12 years ago.
Vik, thankyou thankyou thankyou for this post! I developed tinnitus 5 months ago, i realised that after watching this video (around 30times) i was making my tinnitus 10 times worse by becoming obsessed with sound. I developed Hyperacusis and life was to say the least difficult, couldn’t work, sleep watch TV etc. Once I realised that we all have Tinnitus if we sit in a quiet room and really ( and I mean REALLY try to listen for it) You can magnify the sound and it can become overwhelming (for anyone) I wish my ENT had told me this rather than saying 'get use to it'. Vik please tell my story to other people that are going through hell, i am proof that Tinnitus can completely disappear and is often just a temporary thing that will pass if you can calm yourself. People with my story just done bother posting because we forget and move onto the next problem, so stay away from tinnitus forums
You made me laugh with relief. Oh my god, so it really is mostly psychological isn't it? I was thinking it was cuz my tinnitus "attacks" came with panic attacks. And they were gone once i felt better. So it REALLY is like that! Isn't it? My doctor also made me fell so bad i felt depressed to a point to think that if got killed it would probably feel better. Seeing your text here made me feel so much better, oh my god, alina.
@@MrCybersnow yes its took 6 months though to control and ignore it, then it got quieter and quiter in stages, but if i choose to listern for it in a quiet room and stick fingers in my ears i can hear it straight away. Hearing hope is what we need in times of stress. Constantly reading negative comments from other reviewers (not specifically on this video) does nothing but stresses me out and puts that “oh god this is forever”. When I meditate outside I don’t hear my tinnitus and watching this video made this lightbulb go off- stay positive and distract yourself. Retrain your brain. When I started meditating I couldn’t sit still and concentrate and judge… took me multiple practices to finally start to really meditate. Thank you for this video!
@@therealpenns7313had the same question few months back when I got tinnitus. Now I learned it. It's possible. Trust this method. It takes time but not years.
This has been the most helpful piece of tinnitus content I've seen on the internet since I started dealing with it after airplane barotrauma a few months ago. The advice is simple: if you make an effort to focus on your tinnitus less, your brain will start to screen it out. In my case, it's worked better and faster than I could have dreamed of.. Within 1-2 days of putting this advice into practice, my life had transformed to "back to normal". The sound is still there if I seek it out, but most of the time my brain has hidden it from my perception. It's like a shortcut to habituation... or rather, I would guess that my obsession in constantly checking my tinnitus had been holding habituation back. Thanks for the free advice Doctor Vik!
Thank you so much for making this video! I've had tinnitus for over a year. It got worse recently after a hugely stressful period,. When I started researching it, MOST of the search results brought up that it's not curable. Thank you for giving a better answer to that. It's only 4 days after watching this and the sounds is disappearing. It's getting duller and sometimes isn't there at all. I didn't watch whole video, it was the explanation that there are sounds that exist all the time that we just don't hear because we've trained not to. This made so much sense to me. I practice meditation and have stopped fixating on the sound as a thing to panic about. Instead, I try to listen very closely to it. I try to dissect it see if I can find it's source. This seems to be weakening the connection!
I’ve suffered with tinnitus for years. I find that if I use ear buds with the white noise app on my phone, the tinnitus is masked and made bearable, when I remove the ear buds after 30 minutes or so, the tinnitus has stopped and only sometimes reappears, possibly days later. So now I understand what Dr Vic is saying. There’s an old saying ‘ if you chase a butterfly, it will elude you, but if you busy yourself with something else the butterfly will gently land on your shoulder’
I have significant hearing loss and saw audiologist, then got hearing aids. I HATED them! The audiologist assured me that my brain would adjust to all the horrible noise that, seemed to me, was assaulting my brain. My hair touching my glasses sounded like cellophane crumbling. Every step I took causes banging in my head, and the aids were turned only to 40%, with audiologist plan to increase 10% each week until 100% If my brain can grow accustomed to every second being assaulted with noise, I reckon my brain can grow accustomed to tinnitus. I’ve been hearing impaired my entire life. Now, the audiologist is trying to hard-sell me that I’m more prone to dementia if I don’t correct my hearing. I don’t believe this, but if anyone has further info, please reach out to me. I’ve live this way for my entire life. I don’t miss what I am not hearing. Not at all. I was having panic attacks and crying whenever I was supposed to wear the hearing aids. I was really, really unhappy, but was convinced that I had to wear them. Finally, I was just so miserable that I took them out, and will NEVER wear hearing aids again, unless they drastically improve in function. Oh, and there was zero improvement in my tinnitus. My puppy barked at me and it sounded like he was going to kill me. I couldn’t drive because every car that I passed by (coming toward me on the other side of the road) sounded so violent that I’d be immediately distracted, so couldn’t safely drive. All the while, the audiologist, who is a doctor of audiology, paid no heed to what I was saying and insisted that I’d grow accustomed. For an audiologist, she sorely lacks ability to listen and hear.
Your video brought me out of a tearful state yesterday morning and I've since watched it a number of times. I've been suffering for the last month and hope it goes away on its own accord but I was feeling quite lost until I heard your voice of reason and compassion. I am beginning to think this is something I'll have to train my mind out and I'm using your advice as a starting point. Thank you so much.
This worked thank you very much. Keep yourselves distracted, don't focus on the ringing, don't think about it just forget about it. When I want to relax I focus on my breath not on what I can hear. I play affirmations, meditations and white noise ect when I go to sleep. Sometimes i leave my window open so i can hear a natural breeze at night. Your brain will tune it out to the point where you can't hear it at all. Even my audiologist said the same thing. Don't read about Tinnitus online it will just make you stress and focus on it more and make it louder.
First of all: I so very much appreciate your humble disposition as a doctor. My Tinnitus started shortly after having been exposed to black mold. I did find something online suggesting that black mold can trigger tinnitus which, I presume, would suggest an infection. However, I do think that it's not the ear but, as you stated, rather brain-noise like a constant electrical current. Your idea of recalibrating the brain makes so much sense to me as it implies the creation of a filter. In other words getting the brain to filter out (suppress) unwanted noise. Thank you!
I’ve had the same exposure to black mold in a new rental property. I also have an onset of tinnitus. I wondered if that could’ve been the reason. How are you now?
Yes it feels like my head is an electrical current it's really unpleasant, mine started on my 65th birthday...one ear is like a tuning fork noise but now more continuous and fainter than it was literally it started all of a sudden ....and the following day ringing in my left ear started ears arnt connected are they so its truly crazy...
Absolutely fantastic video and very true. I “thought” I first heard my tinnitus a few years ago, I concentrated on it, got stressed by it and it made it unbelievably loud. This got me stuck in a depressive loop. I was in a toxic relationship at the time and I believe this is the reason why. I also developed eye floaters around the same time. I believe this was all linked. Truth is, and I knew this to a certain degree, id heard it before, especially when I was stressed, after concerts, after I consumed large amounts of alcohol etc but never paid attention to it so was never bothered by it. 2 years later I am out of the relationship and happy, my tinnitus has improved beyond words. I used to hear it 24/7, I only ever hear it now if I’m in bed, when it’s very quiet and I’m pretty sure it’s what I’ve “always” heard and is totally normal. If you have just “developed” it, let me reassure you, you haven’t, you have probably had it for a very, very long time, if not since you were born - you have only just NOTICED it! Don’t give up hope, you will make a full recovery I promise!
Man same thing happened with me I am stuck in negative feedback loop i think I used to hear this but since I focused on this my anxiety went through roof
What a perfect video. I was searching for a tinnitus relief background noise video when I found this. My tinnitus had been screaming for the last few days since getting unusually stressed out. Focussing on hearing the background noise instead of turning up the background volume to drown it out has calmed it right down.
One week since watching this video I've had the most normal week in a long time. Thinking of it as a recursive loop I can break out of and trying the kind of distractions you suggested (plus a few of my own) I'm already feeling a reduction in the noise, or in how much it bothers me or whatever. Thank you so much for making this video, it has already changed my life for the better!
I have had a tinnitus for my whole life, a high pitched whine in my ears, more intense in my left side. I can change the pitch by relaxing and tensing muscles that move my jaw, so I'm pretty sure that my tinnitus is coming from my ears, not from my brains. I have lost the tinnitus sound once in my life, for a few seconds; I was laying on my bed and all of the sudden all the sound stopped, it was dead silent. I had the scare of my life, I was quite certain that I had died and I was absolutely horrified and in full panic mode.. then my tinnitus came back, the old friend, and I knew that I was still alive. Since that I've been fine with my tinnitus, as long as I can hear it, I know I'm still alive.
When i first got Tinnitus i had panic attacks and was very anxious but your brian learns to adjust and starts to understand its not a threat and i no longer notice it 90% of the time. I actually kind of miss it when its not there its almost like background music to me at this point.
I’m 68 and I’ve had tinnitus for 20 years. I enjoyed your video and am happy you got control of it. I believe mine was caused by anxieties. Not that I had more anxiety than anyone else, but my inability to deal with it correctly. I’m going to get a hearing test to see if that might help my brain get distracted.
Hi Bro...I am having this sound in my ears for the last 2 years due to anxiety, stress et. may be and I have been keeping away from this sound by keeping myself busy. Now I have decided to use head phone to listen to nice soothing relaxing music or sounds and quite sure that this tinnitus is going to go away. Thx a lot for sharing your testimony and I wish you all the best. The key thing here is to distract yourself from ringing sound by focussing on other things. Cheers
This video is SO helpful. Like you, I started having problems with Tinnitus in 2008, with a loud blast of a speaker when I was at a rock concert. Unlike you, I didn't know how to resolve it. And the medical people (GP, 2 audiologists) all said, "You will probably have to live with it for the rest of your life! Have a nice day!" How I WISH, Dr. Veer, that I had seen your video back then. However, I have sort of stumbled on what you share in this video. When I have bad Tinnitus days, I try to distract myself. I do not notice it is worse when my stress is up. So I view it as a flashing warning light on the dashboard of my life to do what I can to deal with the stress at hand. I will also put your suggestions into practice. Also, I really enjoy your channel! I was diagnosed with sleep apnea in January. Starting CPAP has been a challenge (including Treatment Emergent Central Apneas), however, I am pressing through all that and am using the CPAP through the night. Now, I'm really experiencing the amazing DIFFERENCE that CPAP is making... I feel so much more well rested, refreshed. I feel like I'm 22, not 62! Your channel has really helped me understand sleep apnea. Keep up your good, compassionate work. That compassion for others really shines through your videos! If I lived in England, you would be my ENT doctor, that's for sure!
Wow, really glad that you've found some of my content useful in your life. 22 ! I guess it is amazing what we get used to, we forget what normal is. amazing that you are feeling better. take care.
You saved my life, dear Vik. Tinnitus, which started suddenly 1.5 years ago, ruined my life. As a result of serious research, I found the only solution in you. I am thankful to you.
Psychologist here and INTJ. I came here looking for what I suspected. Tinnitus treatment might be partially psychological. I have tinnitus from having tinnitus. Lol. I had an ear infection that caused loud tinnitus and distorted hearing. But I got in such a habit of checking to see if the tinnitus was improving that I started noticing a very high pitched sound that I recognized and think I’ve always had, but I started noticing it more and more for a couple of days. My friend passed away and my child had a crisis on the same day and that night in silence the tinnitus was screaming and I had an anxiety reaction to it. This caused me to start checking on the tinnitus continuously and the sound started to become constant and provoke anxiety. As a psychologist I recognized a few things. First, my response to the tinnitus was suddenly anxiety ridden. This always makes neutral stimuli seem more threatening. The amygdala will focus on the threat. The other thing I noticed is that this feels very much like and OCD loop where the focus on tinnitus is the obsession and the compulsion is to listen to it to see if it’s still there (which it always will be and always has been). So, I knew I had to break the loop. The way to do that is through ERP. I focus on the tinnitus whenever I notice it and tell my brain it’s allowed to notice this and that it’s nothing. I focus on it until I feel bored of it. I keep doing this over and over. The thought comes up and I focus on it with acceptance. Allow it to be and know that’s it’s safe. The brain is lying to you. There is no danger there. Allow it to be with you like a friend and move through your day with it. Shift your focus to what you can hear outside of your head. It will get better.
that's the best advice i have heard so far. i have been dealing with anxiety for a few months now, health anxiety and a mental ocd which means i was getting stuck in the mental loop of reassurance about any and every illness you could think of and the mental loop is the worst part of it. it creates more anxiety. i started to see a councillor to deal with it. anyhow about six weeks ago i got tinnitus and it knocked me back to square one. i started googling tinnitus and scared the hell out of me. i thought i had a tumor or MS or god only knows what. i went to my dr. who checked my ears and said i was barking up the wrong tree and that it was just tinnitus which millions of people get. this eased my anxiety and when i seen how many people deal with this on a daily basis including people i know also made me feel better. over this past six weeks i am getting back to myself and many days when i am busy i dont even notice it and even when i do it is not loud unless i am stressed. i fully agree with you that people like me who have ocd will turn our tinnitus in to another loop and compulsion. your advice is great.
By far the most comprehensive and empathetic explanation of how tinnitus can get a hold on your life...😕. The most constructive and positive 45 mins I have spent over the past three months in researching and trying to make some sense of the utter chaos this unwelcome and unannounced condition brings with it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have given me and the determination to get rid of this curse. Looking forward to further updates. Now off to find the shipping forecast 👍🏻
Your video was like a sip of cooling water in a parched environment. I just hope I can give you an idea of how much hope and relief you have given me just by listening to your guidance. Thank you so much.
Excellent! I’ve had this condition for decades. Originally, I felt trapped in a world where I could lose my mind. As time passed, I found it didn’t interfere with my work (Civil Engineer) but, if I’d check, it would still be there; at times causing brief anxiety. At that time, I began to associate it with going into a newly painted room; when you first go the odor is strong but, after some time you don’t notice it because you become distracted. When Neuroscience came along, I got interested and it opened up a whole new world of understanding brain functions. You absolutely have the best explanation of what is happening and I’d recommend it to anyone dealing with tinnitus. Just understanding is helpful.
Whenever I become aware of it, I like to think of it as a memory of hearing the crickets in the woods, which is one of my favorite sounds in the world. I can't say it ever really made me worried.
There was this famous oil refinery in my home town that everybody complained stenk. One day I noticed it actually smelled exactly like fried eggs my grandma made for me. The smell never bothered me since Instead it gave me appetite 🙃 Substitution is king!! Cheers
Your video was life changing I'm 78 year old woman had it for 6 months I've watched all the videos but yours the one concept of focusing on something in the background all the time really hit the mark. As soon as I did this the tinnitus diminished . I'm back to soft music in the car and first thing in the morning Wayne Dyer's voice on UA-cam in the background is so calming. Thank you so much for your analysis of tinnitus. And how to have a life again. By showing it that it has no importance. And therefore my brain will eventually stop noticing it
I've had tinnitus as long as I can remember [since about kindergarten] and lived my ENTIRE life not realizing that it was tinnitus. I'd always thought that it was just normal to hear a loud, high-pitched sound 24/7, as if it was part of the ear's sound processing or something. One day I read an article about tinnitus & looked up what it sounded like on UA-cam, just out of curiosity. The very first video I played, the second example they showed was EXACTLY what I'd been hearing my entire life. I went from never really being bothered by the sound [NOT because it wasn't bothersome, but because I figured "everybody has to deal with this, suck it up & ignore it", which hasn't always been easy] to noticing it a LOT more. I've since allowed it to fade back into the background, figuring I'd lived 30 years with the sound, I can go back to living as I used to & just accept I won't know true silence. It's not perfect, but it's way better than stressing/actively thinking about it 24/7.
I’m 64 and have had a high pitched whistling noise for 25 years. In my early twenties I went to VERY VERY loud rock concerts (thanks Richie Blackmore!) and I’ve always blamed that. 99% of the time I completely ignore it though I do have distracting noises (you tube or music) playing 24/7. This was a very interesting video. Thank you 🙏
I have tinnitus 3 years ago 😢 I feel electricity moves in my ears Sleeping is a nightmare Quiet places are the same I wish I wish I wake up one day hearing no tinnitus Actually one day I wake up with ear infection that causes my tinnitus I wish this day never came 😢
I am forever grateful. Going through a divorce, a burnt out healthcare worker dealing with some depression, and now I was hearing a ringing in my ear with hyper sound sensitivity. You described my experience completely. Unplugging electrical appliances, walking around the house wondering where that buzz was coming from. And you’re right , the more I focused on it, the absolutely louder it has become. As a Dental Hygienist, we deal with TMJ issues, but not suffering from that dysfunction, I thought I was going nuts. You moved me to tears. Will start today trying to reroute those neural pathways, while I wait for my ENT appointment. Your soothing, gentle, and compassionate voice while explaining this all, has put me at ease. Thanks from across the pond in the USA 🙏🏻
These muscles are evil. Don't let them make your life bad. I've so much problems with my neck and with these muscles. Stretching and massage help a lot. Train them. Where strong muscles are, there is no pain! But strong muscles need to be stretched. Thank you for your videos. I think you are 100% right. Why don't other doctors handle like you? Is this unknown or what?
The way you explained this was very helpful to me. I still have tinnitus when I focus on it, but I am able to worry much less about it, which makes it much less noticeable. This was far more helpful than any medication or sound therapy. Thank you, doc.
Thank you for the hope! I seeing an audiologist asap. I had already realized that it had something to do with "paying attention" to it. I had it get worse a couple years ago and I know it went away after a couple weeks. This time around my brain is obsessing over it. So much that it has made me aware that paying attention to it makes it worse. This is BY FAR the most informative and hope-inspiring video on the subject that I've found. THANK YOU! -ET
This has been the best 40+ minutes of time I have spent. Listening to your excellent advice on how to MANAGE tinnitus has been so enlightening and more than useful. I cannot thank you enough. I have spent so much wasted time listening to people pushing their pills and capsules as a remedy for this horrible condition and fortunately I have never bought any. However, I have to be thankful for the last one I listened to which led me to watch Dr Vik’s brilliant, informative and very helpful video with his advice which I am now putting into practice. 👏🏻
You describe what works for me too. Had tinnitus 20 years but had bad attack this year. I too don’t like a music or false annoying distracting masking noise but i find a youtube audio book which has a good reader with voice just right, melodious timbre, no accent, not too loud. Then i fall asleep listening. Distraction as you say works. it takes time each night to find the right story but worth finding one that will work. After a good sleep, one starts next day more relaxed and not uptight. In the day, i’m alone a lot as prefer silence, but even here, i need to listen to a distracting noise of choice if i’m not with people but conversation with others is best distraction. Also practise “habituation” which is mastery of brain over noise, accepting it is there but not letting noise dominate or bother you. Accepting it lowers anxiety it’s there. Distraction as you say is key
What worked for my tinnitus (and trust me the ringing as loud as police sirens 24/7 to the point of me contemplating suicide), was meditation in falling in love with it. Yes you heard me right FALL IN LOVE with it! What it did eventually is teach my body that it is NOT a threat and the rest was history...and no longer spent my time searching for so called "cures" . Furthermore I found that it was not the tinnitus itself that makes one crazy but the fight or flight stress hormones you allow your body to release because of it. Food for thought but today I it does not stop me from living my life and am very happy. If anything I see it as a life lesson. So DO NOT TRY TO FIGHT IT and with time your body adjusts!
Great advice.. I believe mine was caused from a stressful event..so now I used it as a stress meter.. when it gets loud ( from stress) I need to be aware of that stress and breath
This is by far the best information and advice on Tinnitus I have ever encountered, thanks! I am a musician with hearing loss in the high frequencies. When I became aware of my Tinnitus over a decade ago it was devastating but over time I adapted to it. Many points in this video reinforce my own view and experience of Tinnitus. In a nutshelit will improve to the point when it isn't important if you learn to distract your mind from focussing on it, which may seem impossible to begin with-but, watching this I believe it is possible, and that's half the battle-so thank you again!
Thank you so much for this video. Just to know someone understands exactly what I have been through over the last 7 years in both ears and I’m not alone. Also, great comments from fellow sufferers. Distraction is definitely the key and not getting caught up in a never ending circle of researching it, thinking about it and talking about it. Yes I did watch this video and so glad I did but I wont watch another one for a very long time. Time to get back to forgetting about it. Lots of love to everyone and thanks again.
I’ve have tinnitus since I was about 12 - about 30 years. This video was so interesting and informative. I’m so hypersensitive to noise and I never linked the two things. I’ve tried lots of distractions, never the shipping news, that’s a new one to try! I was told I couldn’t have a hearing aid as no hearing loss. I’ve noticed it’s so much louder in times of stress or pain, it really is fascinating.
I noticed that when I turn my head hard left and right, my tinnitus increases in volume, self neck massages and passive rotation has helped. Hearing aids did not
You, sir, are a life saver! Never before I had someone describe exactly what I was going through with my tinnitus and its underlying mechanisms (from the brain's reinforcement of erroneous neural pathways to the additional negative feedback loop due to anxiety/depression) ... It just makes perfect sense as my tinnitus, which started in 2019, never really went away but increased or decreased in what I thought was pretty random fashion. I shall henceforth adopt your tinnitus distraction method, or TDM--three-letter acronyms make everything sound a bit more formal! I will provide an update on my progress soon. Cheers!
i can give you a youtube link of a cochlea hair cell regeneration. if you're interested, i can give it to you, including someone's 1 month review, in exchange of updating me everyday of your results

You're absolutely right, Vik! My tinnitus journey started five years ago after stumbling upon a video about it. Sometimes it feels like my mind is about to explode from the noise, and other times it's peacefully quiet. I've learned it's all about focus. Doc Vik has been a lifesaver. No matter how bad it gets, meditation and self-awareness help tremendously. Now, I'm a healthier person with good hearing, just a bit paranoid sometimes. Thanks, Doc!
i had tinnitus for a week, i was so frustrated and depressed. but watching it for 30 minutes cured it, and i cannot hear any noise even if i try to.. thank you very much🥰
I have had tinnitus for years. I also have really good hearing and I can hear frequencies that others cannot. I usually sleep with a fan on or music so that the tinnitus doesn’t keep me awake. Thanks for sharing your experience with tinnitus
My tinnitus started when I was in prison. After a regular life, I ended up in prison in my 50s. I don’t recall if I had any tinnitus earlier. I slowly become aware of it about a year in, however for awhile I could shake my head and it would stop. But one evening, seven years ago, while sitting on my bunk and watching TV, the ringing started up again and it hasn’t stopped since. I’ve been out for four years, but once you’ve gone to prison, many aspects of your life are shot to hell. Watching this video is the first time I’ve ever thought that my tinnitus could be a result of the stress, anxiety, and depression of being sent to prison and its after effects.
Started my tinnitus journey in 2021 when my workload and stress at work were high. Still hearing it now and sometimes better sometimes worse. Habituation is a journey and a skill to learn. Good luck to everyone out there.
Bro...tinnitus does not give any headaches but sometimes sleep distortions which is common. Just do not think about tinnitis, distract your self from tinnitus n focuss on your work in a relaxed manner, listen to some good soothing music and pray to God everyday for your deliverance. I am doing the same and we both will share our testimonies soon. Cheers
You are spot on with what started my tinnitus. I already had depression and some anxiety and then I noticed my neighbors upstairs fan was excruciating to my ears…loud and annoying. I got very upset about it each time I heard it and that to me seemed like tinnitus. The noise became similar, so what you said is absolutely correct and I got into that loop really easily. Now I will try to reverse it like you said. Thanks for the insightful video!
This is okay for people who haven't had much information about Tinnitus, really it's nothing new. I've tried all this and I'm still here listening to high pitch T and low droning T which is worse. Good luck to anyone who finds relief.
I've had tinnitus for decades and learned to ignore it. I thought that a mouthful of amalgum fillings since age 12 caused it. I live a happy and fulfilled life at 76. I enjoy the solitude and silence at home. I enjoy learning and attend many live concerts here in Buenos Aires. I focus on all the good in my life and don't give the ringing my attention.
Spot on re distraction with habituation being the goal. I call it retraining the brain. 15 months in now and less time thinking about my tinnitus. Can actually sleep at night now. We walk together on this journey though we are all different. You can do this! Excellent video!
Almost 2 weeks in with tinnitus.. struggling to think, goto work, hangout with family/friends. I’m losing my mind! This video has definitely given me a better understanding of what I’m dealing with. I pray it gets easier.
I've suffered with tinnitus for over 20 years. At the start I was scared to go to bed every night and thought it would drive me insane. I spoke to a few friends who had it who put me at ease. Now I have got used to it I barely hear it even though it is still there. I function normally. Stay strong and try not to stress too much. Use a masking noise at night such as a rain sound or white noise to help you sleep. You will adapt to it with time. All the best.
Man I want to thank you for this video, because you are putting into words what I have felt and also what I have learned about it. Some doctors can be very cold and logical in their approach telling people. They'll tell you: "learn to deal with it, it won't get better." The issue is way more complex than that...
I've had Tinnitus since birth. It was only in my 20s when I discovered the name for it and joined a help group, that's when the problem began because I was now focused on the sounds. Up until that point, I thought it was normal and everyone's ears worked like mine. When I found out it was not, everything became worse. So YES, not focusing on it and ignoring it works. I'm now back to MY normal thankfully.
Yea pretty sure it is Norma it’s just those people who get completely fixated on it have trouble and in some other cases I suppose it’s too severe due to physical trauma or some illness to overcome easily but getting rid of stress and anxiety and not thinking about it to much or at all will erase it. But yea everyone has it I’m sure and if they looked for it hard enough they will probably hear it there
What a great video! I had tinnitus since college days and I almost got in depressing state, but I asked universe to guide me and help me to overcome tinnitus and it did! Shirlest helped me and i started to hear ringing everyday less and less and I'm so thankful.
This is Fantastic !!! I've occasionally sat at home and realised my tinnitus had disappeared, only for it to start up again instantly when I thought that. And that was fascinating to me! Which is why this makes so much sense. . . Thank you !!!
Absolutely fantastic video. I had tinnitus for 28 years (woke up with it when I was 13) and after the second Pfizer jab it got way louder and took me over a month before I stopped being really anxious. Now I go to work as much as possible and listen to podcasts to take my mind off the tinnitus. It’s been 6 months nearly and it doesn’t seem to have improved but it doesn’t rule my life like it did before. I have somatic tinnitus and am looking at seeing tinnitus specialists to see if there’s any treatment available. Thanks for this video, really great explanation! But I will add that my personal belief now is that because it’s so subjective, people that suffer with tinnitus that is louder than the usual case will really struggle to get rid of it because it’s just too loud to never not notice. Quieter tinnitus I believe can be ignored to a point where it’s barely noticeable unless you go looking for it.
So it's almost like having the hiccups. If you focus on hiccupping they'll continue, but if you hold your breath, are distracted by a scare or a challenging activity (like sipping a pint upside down) your brain is diverted of its hiccupping duties and they go away. Fantastic video. Now I almost feel excited about having tinnitus because of the challenge of overcoming it.
Doc I just watched your video all 42 minutes after watching all these other people on UA-cam with massages and such that did absolutely nothing I found yours absolutely spot-on you are so right about the distractions your video is amazing as well as your empathy towards people. A absolutely fantastic video one of the best that I've ever seen. Wish you were my doctor in the states keep up the great work just wanted to thank you, so much for putting this out, it made more sense than anything that I've ever seen about it. take care
…my “Pure Tone” tinnitus started last Thursday. It’s high-pitched and loud. Listening to YOUR voice, and your success story, is the first time in a week that I have had some reprieve from it. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am going to subscribe to your news letter and hopefully I have a chance of receiving one of your sound generators. I now have hope because of you. Lynne in 🇨🇦
I've had tinnitis for over 20 years, brought about by continuous loud noise. It's gotten to the point that it almost never bothers me. I am sure I go weeks at a time without even noticing it. If I do notice it, and start to dwell on it, it gets louder and stays for a long time. Of course, this video made me think about it and it is now very loud. Thanks, Doc. You're right, though. If you get distracted to the point that you stop thinking about it, then you don't notice it. Take heart, people. You will get to the point that it doesn't really bother you. I haven't tried meditation or computer games. I just get busy and concentrate on doing something (just about anything) and then after a while I just don't notice it.
It's the night time that's the problem. When all is quiet & trying to sleep, that's when tinnitus is the loudest. Will try external sounds as suggested in the video.
Ive been meditating everyday for 50 years, and got tiinnitus in the last 2 years. Comes on at different times, not only in meditation. I don't see a pattern.. The ringing is getting worse, louder and more frequent, esp. in evening. Im interested in recommendation of clinic a sufferer can go to for medical evaluation and help. I live in Metro Washington DC but willing to travel. Thanks for input and recommendations .
@@travelnomad2128 In my case, I am ok with the most common tinnitus sound which is 24/7. But there is another sound and it is violent like someone clapping once next to your ear and then repeats or like some throwing an empty plastic bottle onto the floor. This sound only comes when I am about to fall asleep or when I am half asleep. Really hate it.
What an incredible video. You're an epic soul and human being Vik with so much wisdom. Thank you for giving so many people like myself hope and comfort and a whole new enlightened perspective. I'll be giving the loud ringing in both my ears which I thought was from playing drums as a kid and not equalising my ears properly while scuba diving recently no more attention. Keep doing what you do man, you make a huge difference. Big love from Perth Western Australia. Adam.
I got tinnitus after ear infection.. its been a month or two , I thought I am gonna live with this noise in my head forever.. but I prayed a lot to Allah and this video appeared in front of me.. now I'm gonna try to heal it and will let you know my progress very soon .. In Sha Allah
I'm in a similar situation. It's been 1 month since my ear infection today. My ear pain is gone, and my hearing is 99% back. but my tinnitus is still there. It has gotten a lot better from a 10 to a 4/3. My ENT told me ears are tricky and should get better in 3 months or so.... told me to just be patient. It's hard, but we will get thru this and will be back to 100%. Wish you and me the best!.
This is so very helpful. Tinnitus started for me after covid - I vomited for 9 days straight & landed in the ER, hospitalized for 5 days. Tinnitus has been plaguing me since but now it’s time to retrain my brain and tune it out. This video has given me a solid course of action. Thank You so very much!
I've been over a year without noticing it at all to be honest. During the times when I did, it was like oh, there it is, alright I've got stuff to do. Recently I been having a flare up due to some stuff, hence I'm here again to remind myself it's possible to retrain your brain again. Don't give up hope, tinnitus is just your brain thinking that that sound is important. Once it realises its not, you will live a normal life like everyone else.
Thanks Vik, I found that focusing on your voice helped reduce my tinnitus. If I listened for the tinnitus it got louder. I’ve had it for a number of years, but it’s always been just a background noise. Thanks to you, I believe that I can reduce it to barely noticeable or nonexistent.
Thank you. Having had a weird noise in my ear for about a week and worrying myself over it, this is so welcome and reassuring and helpful and encouraging ! Sincerely appreciated !
Thank you!!!! After watching this video I felt the best day I had in a while. I knew there was hope and gave me a different purpose to deal with tinnitus. My ear sounds are all gone. Thank you so much for this video.
I've had low-level, easy to ignore tinnitus for years, but recently it got much louder in one ear. Definitely agree distraction is key -- I notice it least when I'm weightlifting lol -- but I also have gotten some real relief from some videos here on UA-cam. The tinnitus relief videos on Art of Zen have helped hugely with getting some sleep. I think they work in the way Vik mentioned about the 180 degree phase shift. The tones sort of shift around in the videos, but all provide relief and every once in a while the *exact* tone will play...ahhhhhh. So much relief. But even the other tones help. I feel like the second I put on the video, I feel much better, which is game-changing. I like that if I have the video on in the background, it helps me "forget" my tinnitus. There are some nice long videos, four or even twelve hours with a river noise in the background. I've had several injuries now (knee pain, foot pain, etc.) where the trick really seems to be that you need to convince your brain to "forget" about it. You stop paying attention to it, and one day, you notice it just isn't there anymore. Hopefully will be true for this too. Highly recommend you search UA-cam for tinnitus relief tone videos to see if you can find some relief. There is hope.
Thank you for giving me hope. My tinnitus has become so loud I thought my life was ruined. My main takeaway is to not give up and become even more anxious and depressed . Thank you again
I got my tinnitus from gun fire in the army before they thought about ear defenders. I've had to live with it for the past 65 years but never for one moment thought of cutting my ears off because I wouldn't be able to wear my glasses.
I have had it for 20 years due to a virus. If I think about it I can hear my tinnitus. But what he is saying is spot on. If you don't think about it, you never hear it.
I'm so glad that you did so well. Thank you so much for writing back in. Much appreciated. Vik

@@panayotpetkov8949 the point of listening to music/podcasts is to distract yourself so you won't pay attention to your tinnitus. if you stay silent paying attention to it, your brain will think you want to hear it and keep making it louder. it's well explained in the video.
Wwwi
Thank you!
Look up the Havana Syndrome.

I hope for your recovery.
Depends on how bad the damage is and how loud and reactive tinnitus is. Auditory damage has no limit.
@-wd5lg I have ocd & adhd with very loud tinnitus. You'll learn to live with tinnitus.
God I hope so. Thank you so much for this comment. I have never heard this or thought of it and I'm struggling right now, but if I can't find any thing to curate, then this is really good thing to remember and honestly it's good to remember anyway. Thank you.❤❤

I want to share a story for those suddenly experiencing tinnitus:
A few months ago i have had an ear-infection which resulted in to sudden deafness on the right side.
Vincent.

For me, I never hear it outdoors, worst after 9 when trying to get some sleep.

True ...

Wonderful take ❤️ It's helping me. Thank you.

Funny thing I got both 😃
hello, i would just like to come back and update on my current state of tinnitus.

I installed an frequency app, listened to a frequency slightly different than my own tinnitus. My brain started focusing on the ‘newly induced’ tinnitus, and forgot about my own tinnitus when the app stopped playing. Quite incredible. You present a very interesting hypothesis here in this video!
Can you tell us more please
Hi all,
I’ve been suffering from Tinitus for about 6 months now.
People with tinnitus hear more and see more that the average person…
Once you understand that your tinnitus is simply part of your super awareness and accept that it’s perfectly normal and nothing to worry about, it will cease to bother you.
Love this comment. This is how I like to view my tinnitus also :)
I don’t understand why he says a hearing aid is helpful for tinnitus. Can you explain? My ears are super sharp in hearing. I don’t want to hear more, I want to hear less!
@plumei wish i had your hearing ria66
W mate
The hearing aid has the ability to remove hearing tinnitus so you can hear without the constant noise. I was able to experience no tinnitus while wearing hearing aids during a test trial. However I did not want to spend the money since hearing aids are extremely costly. Years later I was no longer able to hear myself over the tinnitus so I would shout and annoy all around me. Then I spent the money for hearing aids and then it must have been worse since tinnitus still occurred with the hearing aid. Just my experience.
This is a useful video. I noticed that when distracting myself, the Tinnitus reduced to almost nothing. It's a good start for sure. Thank you.
If you keep going the tinnitus will slowly decrease. Fantastic that you are already noticing you can control it a bit! fingers crossed for you.

I have exactly that!! For decades.
I experience this same thing! You’re not alone
@@RobRoss same here. High pitch constant noise. Louder than anything around me. But sometimes it gets worse, other days I don't even acknowledge it
Thank you Vik, this was probably the most comforting and inspiring 42.29 minutes I've experienced in a long time.
Brilliant! It makes sense. You have a very comforting personality. Thank you for NOT selling something. THANK YOU!

Hearing hope is what we need in times of stress. Dude how can I stay positive when I’m always in pain
How you holding up today sir? Did you remove it from your life or atleast dim it down drastically I hope so!
I really love that saying, thank you!
Whenever my tinnitus flares up, I come watch this video. Thank you for making it. I haven’t been able to make it go away but staying sane!
This is probably one of the best tinnitus videos on youtube. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this!
Thank you!
Really its really long, almost like it's so drawn out just to make you think it's saying important things but I barely hear anything except ignore it?
Yes I agree 👍
I have significant hearing loss and saw audiologist, then got hearing aids.
I HATED them!
The audiologist assured me that my brain would adjust to all the horrible noise that, seemed to me, was assaulting my brain.
My hair touching my glasses sounded like cellophane crumbling. Every step I took causes banging in my head, and the aids were turned only to 40%, with audiologist plan to increase 10% each week until 100%
If my brain can grow accustomed to every second being assaulted with noise, I reckon my brain can grow accustomed to tinnitus.
Thank you so much.

I'm really hoping that things are better for you now. So glad that my video helped in a time of darkness. Do take care.
Don't feel alone alot of us are fighting this ringing demon. Stay strong.
Do you still have tinnitus?
Don’t give up hope, you will make a full recovery I promise!
thanks
Man same thing happened with me I am stuck in negative feedback loop i think I used to hear this but since I focused on this my anxiety went through roof
I went to bed fine and woke up with it very loud. Do you think it was always there. I just don't understand why it started as soon as I woke up.
@@faizannaseer1901did you manage to get over it?
If white noise works for some people, perhaps they could just listen to their tinnitus?

I have had a tinnitus for my whole life, a high pitched whine in my ears, more intense in my left side. I can change the pitch by relaxing and tensing muscles that move my jaw, so I'm pretty sure that my tinnitus is coming from my ears, not from my brains.
I have lost the tinnitus sound once in my life, for a few seconds;
I was laying on my bed and all of the sudden all the sound stopped, it was dead silent. I had the scare of my life, I was quite certain that I had died and I was absolutely horrified and in full panic mode.. then my tinnitus came back, the old friend, and I knew that I was still alive.
Since that I've been fine with my tinnitus, as long as I can hear it, I know I'm still alive.
Next time you experience silence again try to relax, it might help to maintain silence
You may have tinnitus caused by TMJ
When i first got Tinnitus i had panic attacks and was very anxious but your brian learns to adjust and starts to understand its not a threat and i no longer notice it 90% of the time. I actually kind of miss it when its not there its almost like background music to me at this point.
How long have U had tinnitus for
I’m 68 and I’ve had tinnitus for 20 years. I enjoyed your video and am happy you got control of it. I believe mine was caused by anxieties. Not that I had more anxiety than anyone else, but my inability to deal with it correctly. I’m going to get a hearing test to see if that might help my brain get distracted.
Does tinnitus affect your hearing ability?

Fully agree. Listening to you got rid of my tinnitus. Thank you :)
The smell never bothered me since
Instead it gave me appetite 🙃
Substitution is king!!
Cheers
Mine is the exact same soft cricket sound. I love that sounds so it doesn’t bother me. 😊
And therefore my brain will eventually stop noticing it
How is it going now?
Stop stressing about Tinnitus and it will stop troubling you
I’m 64 and have had a high pitched whistling noise for 25 years. In my early twenties I went to VERY VERY loud rock concerts (thanks Richie Blackmore!) and I’ve always blamed that.
99% of the time I completely ignore it though I do have distracting noises (you tube or music) playing 24/7.
This was a very interesting video. Thank you 🙏

Thank you. hope it helps you quickly.

I'm with you . Stress /anxiety / frustration all make mine more pronounced !
Cheers!

Both ears or one ear ?
How are you feeling now ?
I feel this. I did 10 years in prison and developed debilitating OCD from the anxiety. Calmed down after a few years.
Started my tinnitus journey in 2021 when my workload and stress at work were high. Still hearing it now and sometimes better sometimes worse. Habituation is a journey and a skill to learn. Good luck to everyone out there.
Does tinnitus also cause you mild headache etc.
@BULLBOOY Mine does occasionally I believe the cause is a sinus infection.

Spot on re distraction with habituation being the goal. I call it retraining the brain. 15 months in now and less time thinking about my tinnitus. Can actually sleep at night now. We walk together on this journey though we are all different. You can do this! Excellent video!

Man I want to thank you for this video, because you are putting into words what I have felt and also what I have learned about it. Some doctors can be very cold and logical in their approach telling people. They'll tell you: "learn to deal with it, it won't get better." The issue is way more complex than that...
Thats because most doctors are garbage and are only trained to push pharmaceuticals and procedures
I agree and got same sort of feedback.
Same here! I just shared a bit of my story in a comment also. Hope you both are doing well!
Wow
It is normal, everyone does experience tinnitus because it's innate in our bodies. Every single humans experiences tinnitus to different degrees
Could you please explain to me in more detail the method that worked for you?

After how many days of Pfizer jab did your tinnitus start
What is somatic tinitis?
I hear my heartbeat in my left ear all the time, which no one else has mentioned.

Thanks a lot for the advice and encouragement.
Inshallah

@@aaishasyed2001Salam how are you now ?
This is so very helpful. Tinnitus started for me after covid - I vomited for 9 days straight & landed in the ER, hospitalized for 5 days. Tinnitus has been plaguing me since but now it’s time to retrain my brain and tune it out. This video has given me a solid course of action. Thank You so very much!
Same one month after Covid

I just got tinnitus after 2 years of COVID but I believe it will go away in the name of Jesus 🙏🏻♥️🙌
@@viancasoto8538 I stand in agreement with you that our noise will cease in the name of God. Nothing is impossible for Him. Wishing you healing 🙏🏼❤️🩹
Are u ok now?
Did it go away?

Can you please post a link to the art of Zen UA-cam channel or specific video that you are referring to please thank you 🙏🏽
do you workout with earbuds? Trying to find what works with music and lifting.
Kelli where do you find the art of Zen to listen to?

Thank you for giving me hope.
My tinnitus has become so loud I thought my life was ruined.
My main takeaway is to not give up and become even more anxious and depressed .
Thank you again
I got my tinnitus from gun fire in the army before they thought about ear defenders. I've had to live with it for the past 65 years but never for one moment thought of cutting my ears off because I wouldn't be able to wear my glasses.
I have had it for 20 years due to a virus. If I think about it I can hear my tinnitus. But what he is saying is spot on. If you don't think about it, you never hear it.
