Not sure he would have appreciated the first few, but I'm so happy he wasn't offended. Granted, he's a pretty cool guy, we talk about religion and stuff like that all the time.
I have many atheist friends and I showed 7 of them this clip and asked then what they though. guess what?? Not one of them was offended. They all laughed at it and thought it was hilarious. One of them even read the comments and wondered why people were apologizing to atheists. He actually laughed at that. So guess what all - 7 out of 7 atheist I know love this and didn't think it was offensive at all. food for thought.
I’m an atheist. Tim is funny. He’s smart, he’s talented, he’s funny. I see no reason to be offended, he’s not attacking an individual, he’s an observer who writes what he sees. If your faith or indeed lack of faith is so weak that Tim can ridicule it and you get offended then I suggest a change of thinking is in order.

Scott Coverdale You might not believe in God but since He did create you, He sure does believe in you!! But He does better than that: He loves you no matter how you feel about Him. Do you get consequences for breaking civic laws? Well, there’ll be consequences for choosing to say there’s no God! But that never changes the fact that even loving human parents must discipline their children...it wouldn’t be love to never set boundaries to protect our own children...how much more does our Father in Heaven love us? Far more! He died in our place...just so we could inherit what we will never deserve...and get the debt paid off just for repenting from our sins and accepting His love, grace, forgiveness, and the free gift of salvation. But if I’m wrong and there’s no God, then I have nothing to worry about or lose because I’ll be done when I die, right? Thankfully (thank God!) that He does exist...and since that’s true, atheists have a great deal to lose...they lose eternity in the Presence of Almighty God...but not the eternal agony of hell...that will certainly come...you wouldn’t expect to become addicted to heroin and not live the consequences of shortening your life and killing your body, would you? But there can be no killing your soul...that’s here forever...and it will take eternity to realize how stupid it is to look at the earth, the human body, and the universe and think all came from nothing by itself...what do you find so bad about God? Us? Believers? We’re wretched, man! But at least our honesty led us to The Only One Who can forgive and save us...We love you, buddy and we are no different than you in our sinfulness...but the major difference is what will count when we are before Almighty God...and Jesus covered that for us...all we gotta do is admit that we can do nothing to save ourselves. Yes, we love you. True Christians love everyone...but make no mistake: we are flawed and broken and we make serious mistakes...even in our loving those who hate us. But we do love you. However, there can be no one who loves you more than Jesus does! and He is the truth...and only He can reveal Himself to you...no human being can convince another human being of anything...that’s not what God created us to do. He created us to love Him above all and love one another likewise. He loves you so much that He is The First One to respect your choosing to deny His Existence. ok, so atheists believe that their's is a religion and even a faith, but if you don't believe in a higher power then what religion? what faith? I know that atheists gather in "churches" and even sing worldly songs together, but why? but i will get back to that question in a moment. ya even talk of morality in these gatherings, but what is the point of morality to atheists? what do you gain out of it? you're doing a work, but onto who? what is the purpose of being good to one another? i guess it gets you praise from your fellow humans, but what about when you don't care about that? what if you strip away the need for praise from other people, then what's the point of being good at all? don't you then make that work futile? or does being good, just make you feel good? but that doesn't last either, so what about when you have a bad day and you just don't care? do you take your bad day out on other's then? and if you're having a bad day and you don't care about praises of others', then how far does your bad day take you? back to the atheist view of religion and churches, why do you call your's a religion if you don't believe in anything? and why do you call your gatherings churches, if all you talk about is human things and you get together to sing worldly songs? why not just call these things what they are; gatherings, coffee get togethers, snacks and juice gatherings? atheists say they can't hate or mock what doesn't exist, but why does this feel like hate to me and mocking. i mean, i'm not offended, to me it sound a lot of confusion and; maybe even, foolishness. otherwise, i just don't get it. please understand, i'm not asking these questions to promote bad behavior. i am asking this questions to provoke the same questions within yourselves and maybe you can even give me some insight into your thought process concerning atheism. you won't sway me, but at least, i'll have some understanding.

Also thank you for reaching out. however, just so you know that didn't answer my question. but about the "good" you speak of. yes, we do do good for a fellow man for God's sake first and foremost, but why do you think God has us do it. because he cares, so like Him in which we get our names from, we also do it because we care. and not JUST about God. however, most people, especially those that don't believe in God only do it for their own sake. as a sense of accomplishment and a sense of pride only leading to yet still another selfishness. most only do it to brag about something, and so everyone can look upon them with a sense of honor. our God says do not do alms (good deeds) in the eyes of men (ppl) to be seen of them for those that do have their reward, but do your alms and forget them so much so that the left hand doesn't even know what the right hand is doing (yes, that's how that first went). So our greatest accomplishments go without thought or knowledge. and as for pride, God says, pride cometh before the fall. so you say you do good for the sake of good. what if your good went unseen and unacknowledged, would you still do it? if the person you helped didn't even bother to say thank you, would that bother you?

However, You asked for evidence to support the theory and you are asking a big question. There is a lot of information available to research but I cannot summarize it in a bumper sticker slogan so this might be a little long. What is evolution by definition? Evolution simply means "change over time". In this sense alone is it permissible to say that the universe undergoes a certain evolution or that the human from an embryo to the fullness of an adult undergoes an evolutionary process. However, when we are talking about evolution in science we have a very specific meaning about biology. We are discussing the origins of the various species. Or if we want to be precise, we are talking about variations of Allele Frequencies among isolated populations resulting in morphological traits that accumulate until the DNA is so different that the two groups can no longer produce viable offspring together, hence speciation. Let me really kick this off with a delve into our Phylogeny. I am using the Phylogeny explorer at Tree of Life Web Project. 1. You are a Eukaryote. This is where we split off from other bacteria/viruses in evolution. A Eukaryote is simply when the genetic information is contained within the nucleus of the cell (as your cells attest to). 2. You are a Unikont. Meaning you are driven from behind by a single flagellum (the tail of the cell). To understand this you need to look at the sperm cell. 3. You are a Metazoa. In other words, you are an animal. I.E. you are a homo-sapien zoologically. 4. You are Bilaterally Symmetrical. Look them up, study the images. Notice their distinct changes through time. Then ask yourself, What are they? The closer and closer you get through time to the present the more clear the answer becomes. Yes, the Piltdown man was a Hoax. One perpetrated against evolutionary science and sadly accepted for a time being due to political desires to beat Germany in finding evidence, however it was also revealed by the same science as the fraud it was because it didn't match the data of the other fossils as real information poured in. The Nebraska Man was also faulty. It was blown out of proportion by a magazine (not a scientific journal) and they drew whole images off a single fragment later found to not be related to us. The scientist who found it tried to get the magazine to retract its article (if I remember correctly) as they sensationalized the finding and in doing so reported it wrong. Homo Neanderthalensis was not a man with Rickets. It was whole communities of people (as shown above in the individuals found) with many distinct differences to their skeletal structure (shorter and much stalkier, thick bones, flared out rib cages, differing pelvis, differences in the skull which made modern speech impossible, etc...) and thankfully is young enough that we have some DNA from them that we can show is not the same species as Homo Sapien. In certain sections of our DNA we have an average of 8 differences between each of us Homo Sapiens. Neanderthal has over 4 times that many differences in those same areas. Let us not forget things like the Endogenous retroviruses we share with other apes. In the distant past one of our ancestors got infected with a virus that is preserved in our own DNA. Well, when we look at the exact same section of DNA on our distant ape relatives what do we see? That's right the same virus in the exact same area. How can that even be possible if we didn't evolve from a common ancestor with them? Or how most animals can synthesis their own vit C but we and other apes have the genes to synthesis it but the genes are coded with a stop function turning the gene off. Why would God specially code in 99% DNA match with other apes, give us both the exact same virus in the exact same area, and give us the DNA for vit C only to not allow us or the other apes to produce it? What is the point? Let us not forget the other apes we have taught to talk via sign language and can carry on complex thought processes, others, who show very human like behaviors, etc... Just look at the muscular structures of a common chimp and compare them with yours. You are nearly identical in so many regards. That is because by definition YOU ARE AN APE. Final thought. Remember this, the thing is, this can be traced in reverse via genetic sequencing and it reveals the same pattern in our DNA as the fossil record and Phylogenetics gives us (as I just laid out for you). You know the same science that establishes paternity (ancestry) and convicts killers in a court of law. But it isn't just this science that says this. All of Biology, phylogeny, genetic sequencing, fossil records, anthropology, geological strata, comparative morphology, embryology, and even medicine all agree to this pattern of our history. All these different branches of science from people the world over who never talk to each other all come to the same conclusion. Evolution is real, religion would do well to figure this out. Most have, but fundamentalists groups still do not want to accept that their origins story isn't literal.
This guy is a comedian who is branded at Christians. If you think you understand what an atheist thinks because you watched a 2 minute clip by a Christian comedian, you are deluding yourself. This guy has a lot of funny bits, but you would do well to remember who/what he is when using his comedy to form opinions about other people who were not present to defend themselves. For the record, I don't see a point in atheist megachurches. I hear that they are mostly a way for atheists to get that feeling of community that is often lost when leaving a religion, but I feel like you can find community in other places. I guess some people become dependant on that structure, and they have a hard time learning to live without it. What I'm trying to say is that you should try to have a conversation with someone before coming to conclusions about them. You might be surprised to find out that no matter what a person thinks, we are all complex human beings who have an entire life's worth of experience determining who we are.

I have many atheist friends and I showed 7 of them this clip and asked then what they though. guess what?? Not one of them was offended. They all laughed at it and thought it was hilarious. One of them even read the comments and wondered why people were apologizing to atheists. He actually laughed at that. ok, so atheists believe that their's is a religion and even a faith, but if you don't believe in a higher power then what religion? what faith? I know that atheists gather in "churches" and even sing worldly songs together, but why? but i will get back to that question in a moment. ya even talk of morality in these gatherings, but what is the point of morality to atheists? what do you gain out of it? you're doing a work, but onto who? what is the purpose of being good to one another? i guess it gets you praise from your fellow humans, but what about when you don't care about that? what if you strip away the need for praise from other people, then what's the point of being good at all? don't you then make that work futile? or does being good, just make you feel good? but that doesn't last either, so what about when you have a bad day and you just don't care? do you take your bad day out on other's then? and if you're having a bad day and you don't care about praises of others', then how far does your bad day take you? back to the atheist view of religion and churches, why do you call your's a religion if you don't believe in anything? and why do you call your gatherings churches, if all you talk about is human things and you get together to sing worldly songs? why not just call these things what they are; gatherings, coffee get togethers, snacks and juice gatherings? atheists say they can't hate or mock what doesn't exist, but why does this feel like hate to me and mocking. i mean, i'm not offended, to me it sound a lot of confusion and; maybe even, foolishness. otherwise, i just don't get it. please understand, i'm not asking these questions to promote bad behavior. i am asking this questions to provoke the same questions within yourselves and maybe you can even give me some insight into your thought process concerning atheism. you won't sway me, but at least, i'll have some understanding.

Also thank you for reaching out. however, just so you know that didn't answer my question. but about the "good" you speak of. yes, we do do good for a fellow man for God's sake first and foremost, but why do you think God has us do it. because he cares, so like Him in which we get our names from, we also do it because we care. and not JUST about God. however, most people, especially those that don't believe in God only do it for their own sake. as a sense of accomplishment and a sense of pride only leading to yet still another selfishness. most only do it to brag about something, and so everyone can look upon them with a sense of honor. our God says do not do alms (good deeds) in the eyes of men (ppl) to be seen of them for those that do have their reward, but do your alms and forget them so much so that the left hand doesn't even know what the right hand is doing (yes, that's how that first went). So our greatest accomplishments go without thought or knowledge. and as for pride, God says, pride cometh before the fall. so you say you do good for the sake of good. what if your good went unseen and unacknowledged, would you still do it? if the person you helped didn't even bother to say thank you, would that bother you?

First of all, Atheism has nothing to do with Evolution. You might as well say, hey particle physicists, what evidence do you have to support mechanics. Atheism is a position on the God belief. Some of them might claim that No God exists, others simply are not convinced of your claim that a God does exist as you have failed to reliably demonstrate your claim. Yes, many Atheists who come out of religion and care about the questions of life and existence want to answer such questions and the scientific answer of Evolution via Natural Selection is an adequate explanation of the variations of species as we see them today. It is not meant to answer where everything came from, or even the origins of Life itself, just speciation among living organisms. However, You asked for evidence to support the theory and you are asking a big question. There is a lot of information available to research but I cannot summarize it in a bumper sticker slogan so this might be a little long.
What is evolution by definition? Evolution simply means "change over time". In this sense alone is it permissible to say that the universe undergoes a certain evolution or that the human from an embryo to the fullness of an adult undergoes an evolutionary process. However, when we are talking about evolution in science we have a very specific meaning about biology. We are discussing the origins of the various species. Or if we want to be precise, we are talking about variations of Allele Frequencies among isolated populations resulting in morphological traits that accumulate until the DNA is so different that the two groups can no longer produce viable offspring together, hence speciation.
Let me really kick this off with a delve into our Phylogeny. I am using the Phylogeny explorer at Tree of Life Web Project.
1. You are a Eukaryote. This is where we split off from other bacteria/viruses in evolution. A Eukaryote is simply when the genetic information is contained within the nucleus of the cell (as your cells attest to).
2. You are a Unikont. Meaning you are driven from behind by a single flagellum (the tail of the cell). To understand this you need to look at the sperm cell.
3. You are a Metazoa. In other words, you are an animal. I.E. you are a homo-sapien zoologically.
4. You are Bilaterally Symmetrical. You have a body cavity that splits you down the middle with an opening on one end for food and an opening on the other end for excrement. It was a sponge like creature that first exhibited this trait.
5. You are a Deuterostome. That is to say, the Anus is the first hole that forms. You can see this in your growth as an Embryo. The Anus is the first hole to form as a Blastocyst in your mother's womb.
6. You are a Chordata. You have a spinal Chord. This first formed among a primitive fish. This provided a flexible rod which allowed for faster movement.
7. You are a Craniata. Meaning you have a Cranium.
8. You are a Vertebrata . Meaning you have vertebrates that formed along the spinal chord.

We knew the geological strata we would first find this in and the location where we should find this type of species. With this information scientists made a prediction that this fish would be found in the fossil records (which is a transitional species) and where we would find it. They then looked for this fish and found it as predicted by the model. It is called Tiktaalik and has the exact same bone structure as every land vertebrate since this (including you). This is to say it had arm, forearm, wrist, hand, and finger bones in the exact same way you do. This fish walked on land. Of course it is not the only fish to do such but it is your ancestry.
11. You are a Amniota. The egg contains amniotic fluid.
12. You are a Mammal. I shouldn't need to explain this one at all.
13. You are Eutheria. A Placental Mammal.

Take a quick look at these species. Look them up, study the images. Notice their distinct changes through time. Then ask yourself, What are they? The closer and closer you get through time to the present the more clear the answer becomes.
Yes, the Piltdown man was a Hoax. One perpetrated against evolutionary science and sadly accepted for a time being due to political desires to beat Germany in finding evidence, however it was also revealed by the same science as the fraud it was because it didn't match the data of the other fossils as real information poured in. The Nebraska Man was also faulty. It was blown out of proportion by a magazine (not a scientific journal) and they drew whole images off a single fragment later found to not be related to us. The scientist who found it tried to get the magazine to retract its article (if I remember correctly) as they sensationalized the finding and in doing so reported it wrong. Homo Neanderthalensis was not a man with Rickets. It was whole communities of people (as shown above in the individuals found) with many distinct differences to their skeletal structure (shorter and much stalkier, thick bones, flared out rib cages, differing pelvis, differences in the skull which made modern speech impossible, etc...) and thankfully is young enough that we have some DNA from them that we can show is not the same species as Homo Sapien. In certain sections of our DNA we have an average of 8 differences between each of us Homo Sapiens. Neanderthal has over 4 times that many differences in those same areas.
Let us not forget things like the Endogenous retroviruses we share with other apes. In the distant past one of our ancestors got infected with a virus that is preserved in our own DNA. Well, when we look at the exact same section of DNA on our distant ape relatives what do we see? That's right the same virus in the exact same area. How can that even be possible if we didn't evolve from a common ancestor with them? Or how most animals can synthesis their own vit C but we and other apes have the genes to synthesis it but the genes are coded with a stop function turning the gene off. Why would God specially code in 99% DNA match with other apes, give us both the exact same virus in the exact same area, and give us the DNA for vit C only to not allow us or the other apes to produce it? What is the point? Let us not forget the other apes we have taught to talk via sign language and can carry on complex thought processes, others, who show very human like behaviors, etc... Just look at the muscular structures of a common chimp and compare them with yours. You are nearly identical in so many regards. That is because by definition YOU ARE AN APE.
Final thought. Remember this, the thing is, this can be traced in reverse via genetic sequencing and it reveals the same pattern in our DNA as the fossil record and Phylogenetics gives us (as I just laid out for you). You know the same science that establishes paternity (ancestry) and convicts killers in a court of law. But it isn't just this science that says this. All of Biology, phylogeny, genetic sequencing, fossil records, anthropology, geological strata, comparative morphology, embryology, and even medicine all agree to this pattern of our history. All these different branches of science from people the world over who never talk to each other all come to the same conclusion. Evolution is real, religion would do well to figure this out. Most have, but fundamentalists groups still do not want to accept that their origins story isn't literal.
This guy is a comedian who is branded at Christians. If you think you understand what an atheist thinks because you watched a 2 minute clip by a Christian comedian, you are deluding yourself. This guy has a lot of funny bits, but you would do well to remember who/what he is when using his comedy to form opinions about other people who were not present to defend themselves. For the record, I don't see a point in atheist megachurches. I hear that they are mostly a way for atheists to get that feeling of community that is often lost when leaving a religion, but I feel like you can find community in other places. I guess some people become dependant on that structure, and they have a hard time learning to live without it. What I'm trying to say is that you should try to have a conversation with someone before coming to conclusions about them. You might be surprised to find out that no matter what a person thinks, we are all complex human beings who have an entire life's worth of experience determining who we are.
In my experience, a "conversation" with 99% of atheists is them mistaking condescension and insults for intelligent, respectful rebuttal.

It was kinda funny though I don't like the misinformation that he seems to share just like most christians,,,,,, atheism doesn't equal belief in evolution or whatever, note that I didn't say evolution doesn't make sense, it sure does but being an atheist doesn't mean you have a specific thing that you believe brought the universe into existence. It's so frustrating listening to believers wanting you to explain scientifically how the universe came into existence, like look hear child I don't need science to realize that I am not convinced about the existence of your god in fact one can be an atheist without knowing anything about evolution, the big bang theory etc...this song wasn't offensive but it just kinda of disappointed me that he threw that mislabel of atheism in there. Almost like listening to someone call an atheist a satanist though that one sounds more stupid.

Well, evolution isn't the right question. How did Life Start? They HAVE NO IDEA! NONE! Guesses, we can't make life from nothing... making DNA system alone... Well... there are. Many. DNA is one of them. That's a complex system boy and you needed that AMAZING COMPUTER before you can even do multi-cell anything... LOL - Atheists are funny. At Least Stephan Hawkins won't go to hell... any one who searches that hard for god and tells the truth the whole way based on what they find - honest fella - I think God might of helped that fella live longer despite his sickness just because he was so diligent... Chris t uhh, correction I AM a Christian. I'm just saying that spreading the Word is one thing, but being all "in-your-face" and "believe or die" is not only the wrong way to carry it out, but also against what God says which is love thy enemy. What happens to other people is up to Him, not to us.
