Your intro is so cool that I actually look forward to it whenever I start your video :D Keep it going, you're becoming one of my top bag reviewers, good stuff.
100% an awesome bag for sure. I initially got the SEG45, but that was just a floppy mess, and seemed to really just be meant to be used as a duffle first and foremost. This is completely night and day difference, and it’s great new beefy harness addresses the biggest shortcoming of the previous generation SEG30 and the current SEG45. Awesome review as always, but this one perfectly summarized how I feel about it, too.
Love this bag. The compression straps are genius and the padded back & shoulder straps make carrying super comfortable. I only wish it held a few more liters as it's a tad too small. And I wish that the seg45 was more like it!
Hey John, I’ve had good luck attaching tripods using just the compression straps. Kick one of the legs out, strap down against the center and other two legs, and then fold back down the last leg. Might not work for your particular tripod or bag but might be worth a shot on the non-water bottle pocket side.
I really like your lighting. Super random I know, everything else is amazing too but the lighting makes me feel happy :) I got this bag and I really like it!
Great review. First time i have seen your channel and am glad i stopped by. I have this bag ordered and on its way. Your review helped me solidify my decision.
Thanks for your work, it's always thorough, objective, informative, and very well-presented. What jacket are you wearing in the outdoor segment of this video? It looks like the Flint and Tinder waxed canvas jacket, which is a great choice. Thanks again, great work.
@@JBOutside1 You're welcome. Yeah, it is an amazing jacket. I have one in forest green, but I think yours looks even better, so I'll have to get one in that color. Thanks again for your excellent reviews. Cheers!
Hi! As a previous owner of the original SEG lineup, this is a welcome upgrade. Do you happen to know the internal dimensions of the bucket part? Thank you!
How's the bag doing these days? Never had a Matador backpack but I've had some of their toiletry accessories and I'm not the most impressed by their durability (had some leak after a year of use).
I can see that. Total transparency: I reviewed this but haven’t taken it out yet (constantly testing something 😎) so I can’t speak to the durability on this one.
Yeah this is all overwhelming for sure. This one has a very different philosophy because of the segments so it really depends on how you pack. Sometimes I like to see everything in one place so the GR2 is better for that. The SEG bags keep everything tidy but it’s all hidden away
I feel like Matador has kind of missed the mark on some of the sizing of their bags. To me, if you have a bag this size it can make a good personal item, but if you're not using packing cubes then you can't really use the bag as a day bag very easily, because you have to remove all of your stuff one by one. So I think this would have been great to see and a 35 or 40 l, which is too big for a day bag anyways. I realize that they have bigger versions of this but they're not as robust. Hopefully they come out with a bigger version of this, and a smaller version of globe rider.
@@JBOutside1 :( hoping to hear you say they were the same. Thanks for the answer. I finally feel them loosening up a bit. Should’ve gotten a heritage now I won’t be able to exchange for one.

Awesome! Glad to hear they've fixed all the previous shortcoming. I think this is homerun personally.
If they had a 35l version of this I'd buy it in a heartbeat

Nice! Thanks for watching

Awesome!
Basically a pack with built-in packing cubes. Love the compression straps & water proofing. Missing load lifters.
I’m kinda neutral on load lifters honestly. In this case I like it without. Cleaner look and feel.
It’s only a 28 liter pack, so unless you’re packing heavy gear, I don’t see any reason for them.

Nice! Thanks Adam, glad it helped!
Such a cool innovative design. Thanks!
You bet!! 👊🏻

Thanks Bob! Yes, it’s the Flint and Tinder. Amazing jacket.

Nice review of the SEG28. I'm gonna get one

Hi! As a previous owner of the original SEG lineup, this is a welcome upgrade.
Do you happen to know the internal dimensions of the bucket part? Thank you!
No, sorry. But the internal section is quite large and really adds to the utility of the bag overall
Have you thought about taking a look at Hill People Gear stuff? I feel like they deserve more reviews on YT.
On the list.
Ah, the fabled Human Centipede pack 😆
🤣

What’s the use case for this vs GR2? Trying to decide on my first bag😂 it’s a little overwhelming. Any feedback appreciated!!

@@JBOutside1 i feel like despite whichever I buy first - I’ll end up with both anyway 😀 it’s addicting!!
@@DJCHURKLE haha, yeah be careful…it’s a slippery slope!
Would it fit content of a fully loaded GR2 34?
Yes...mostly...everything except 6L of stuff 🤣

Are the aqua guard zips as hard as the GoRuck XPac?
Not at all...these ones are like butter!

Is it made in USA?
No. Made in Vietnam
