As someone said here- thank you for your responses. I continued to learn from them
Of course! Always love chatting with everyone around here
I have really been enjoying your videos. Great stuff. Thank you
So glad to hear it! Always working hard trying to make the videos as good as I can.
I’ve been delighted with the Nitecore TINI 2 keychain flashlight as a multi-purpose carry around light. Having a little carabiner on it is great for hooking to belt loop or hanging on a hook for nightlight.
The tini2 is great! Both that and the oclip have so many great use cases with their form factors. I do love the magnetic clip on this one though
Best one so far. Love the items chosen!
So glad to hear it, thanks for the support!
Great video as always Josh, I really like that new Bellroy Sling, huge fan of the brand.
For sure! Really loving this new face fabric they’re using for them, size and organization has been great too.
Some neat options there! You sold the Bellroy gear really well, it's a very elegant and compact backpack. With that sling shape just the right size for airport essentials.
Thanks! Had an awesome time testing out the new bags, was way more impressed than I had anticipated
Great video!
Thanks!
Josh, great video. I've looked but not found a one bag solution with a built on belt/fanny pouch. I ended up sewing a Velcro patch field on my bag and attaching a Maxpedition (had the reverse side Velcro) pouch so that I can keep both together but detach easily when on the plane. Add in terrible Velcro noise here. I added a belt attachment for the pouch that I can deploy and carry around.
Built in pouch could be cool! I usually just wear the crossbody in front and the backpack behind through the airport, then leave the bag where I’m staying at my destination.
Backpack looks sweet
I know! Love this new face fabric they’re using for the lineup
I love moft lap top stand that also folds flat
For sure!
I am actually impressed Bellroy included a luggage pass-through on their new venture. They rarely put it on anything
I know! Seems like they’re making updates to a lot of their bag lines right now in addition to the newer travel focused gear
That sling bag looks dope 🔥
I know! Love this new fabric they’re using
Love your video vibe
Thanks!
That Belroy backpack...Wow! So nice. I have become more of a fan with the water bottle in case style. I have swung my pack around and lost the bottle a couple of times. Once the top popped off and water everywhere. Those side mesh holders just are okay for function. Nice Vid Josh!
For sure! Nice having the added security knowing it literally can’t fall out. Weight distribution is a big plus for me too, larger water bottles can get so heavy and if the interior contents are light you can really feel the imbalance with some bags
Interesting stuff
Thanks! Always have a ton of fun with these types of videos
First time viewer and really enjoyed the vid! My only gripe is that I prefer the miyoo mini plus 😂 Look fwd to more great content!!
Glad you enjoyed the video! So many great handhelds out there, I’ve been really wanting to try the analogue pocket too
Great Stuff Josh, Vid as always! Does the Bellroy sling fits an iPad mini?
THX!
I don’t have one to test with 100% certainty, it I measured the iPad mini dimensions against the bag and it should fit well with some room to spare.
I’ve been packing a zojirushi thermos with me instead of water bottle - coffee container for morning flights/travel, water bottle after that.
Love my Zojirushi thermos! Daily use for almost a decade and still perfect. I’ve tried this before though and always felt like the coffee flavor contaminated my water
great video josh! In your opinion, out of the venture ready 26 and the venture travel 26 - Which of the two bags is better? Which do you prefer using? Thanks!
I’d pick the travel 26 over the ready i think, I love this new face fabric and the travel features and built in tote are really nice, the tote especially for EDC use outside of travel.
Both are great though, I’d let it come down to personal preference with the fabric and wether or not you’d use the additional features
Appreciate the reply!
How does material on front of the bag feels? Is it “rubbery” feel? Does it feels that there will be a lot of scuffs with usage or is it more durable / scuffs resistant? Thank you!
It definitely is a bit rubbery, it reminds me a lot of the front face on the AER tech pack. It seems to clean up a lot easier than a normal fabric for dirt and grime and should hold up pretty well to scuffs from what I can tell so far
Great video as always, Josh. How would you compare Belroy products versus Tomtoc? I have a Tomtoc sling and backpack and I like them both, but I'm open to new ideas.
Bellroy is definitely a step up in overall polish and quality imo, but tomtoc is great for overall value. Both will get the job done well enough, I’d just go with your gut on whichever bags have the best design and organization for your needs.
Thank you!
Ever thought about / come across / need - a travel router?
For sure! Didn’t really fit into this video as an “in-flight” item but I picked up a gl.inet slate AX a few months back and love it. Huge convenience and definitely staying in the bag from here on out
@@joshfenn I just picked one AXT1800 too and am loving it. ~ Jeff
Aw you didn’t show the tote attaching to the front of the bag! Also any issues with the viture xr pro? I have one ordered and looking for any opinions on it
I definitely should have shown the front attachment, I ended up cutting out a lot of that segment because I went on for like 10 minutes and figured people would be upset since it’s a sponsored segment. Loved the bag though and genuinely had a lot to say haha.
The viture has been great! I had a few issues testing the optional neckband device they sell but the glasses themselves have been working really well. I’m going to be testing one from XREAL soon, I’m curious how they compare because the Viture has been solid
Which travel power adapter youre using?
I don’t fly internationally very often but I just recently got one from Tessan that’s been great - amzn.to/3VxzRdE
For normal US plugs the UGREEN and Anker fan chargers have both been perfect the past few years
Can the Crossbody bag carry a Fuji x100v without being too cramped?
Great video btw!
Thanks! I don’t have that exact camera to test, but based on the dimensions is should fit well. The split in the middle divides up the depth a bit but 2”/53mm should still fit in one half just fine
@@joshfenn thanks for the reply!
is the prime 27600 allowed for in flight travel?
For sure! Carry on only but anything under 100Wh is allowed, this comes in at 99.5
I’m in need of a new daily commuter backpack. Would you be good using it as your daily driver?
For sure! The travel features are pretty subdued/passive so it could definitely work as a daily. Just covered a couple of other daily bags last week too if you wanted to see some other options in addition to this one
Right now the V1 Venture is on sale for around $150, versus the $315 🤑 for the new one. It does seem like a lot of improvements, but idk if double the price is worth the difference.
Tough call! Haven’t tried both so I can’t really give a definitive recommendation, that sale price is enticing for sure. The electrochromic feature is really great though and probably a dealbreaker for me after getting used to it.
Not to throw another complication into the mix but I’m going to be trying the XREAL glasses really soon as well, curious how they stack up
@@joshfenn think you replied to the wrong comment 😅
Hahaha I was thinking you said Viture (the glasses) and not venture (the bag).
The old venture is still really great, definitely some awesome features with this new travel-focused one though. I also really love the face fabric in this new line, if the rubber-like feel speaks to you at all. I think it just comes down to whether or not the new organization and features is worth it for you, this and my older venture ready pack are both pretty great.
@@joshfenn it’s definitely a better bag, but I don’t think it’s twice the price better. At $315 it’s also bumping up against larger and more legit travel bags too like Peak Design, Evergoods, Aer and others.
En la crossbody cabe una Osmo pocket 3?
I don’t have one to check and confirm but based on the dimensions it should fit with room to spare
The only water I buy at airports is in Iceland, that water is the best in the world besides Faroe Islands, but no way would I ever fly into there. One of the scariest landings according to my friends from the Faroe Islands. Volcanic filtering, reminds me of my home state in the Pacific NW, before they added all the chemicals to it.
Haven’t had the pleasure of Iceland water but few things are better than fresh running water from the cascades when I’m backpacking, I’m sure Iceland is amazing.
If I had the money I would probably buy everything
Lots of fun stuff, I’ve been quite spoiled getting the opportunity to test review samples for the videos. Appreciate the support on this one!
Fun fact. That tote attaches to the front of the 26L
It does! Went way over time on that segment and I think I cut the part where I talked about it. Really loving the bag though, the new updates are really great.
@@joshfenn maybe do a short on it 🤔
What brand is your waffle weave hoodie?
It’s from Wellen. Found it on Huckberry last year, probably out of stock for the season but it’s really comfortable if they end up bringing it back in the fall
Can you fly with a 27,000 mAh battery? I thought the limit was 20,000.
TSA actually goes by Wh and not mAh capacity, anything under 100Wh is allowed without any clearance, this one comes in at 99.5Wh.
www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/whatcanibring/items/lithium-batteries-100-watt-hours-or-less-device
you were able to get that anker power bank onto an airplane?
Might vary depending on location but it’s under the 100Wh limit for TSA, I haven’t had any issues
A 27000 mAh powerbank in your carry-on?
Under the 100Wh tsa limit 👍
When did the larq’s price go down from 100 to 50?!?!
This one’s a bit less since it doesn’t have the UV tech, been the same price since launch though at $40/$50 depending on the size
Oh thank you. Then I’m looking for the UV tech one. If you have a link , I’ll buy from you. Also ordering the phone stand , their items are like a puzzle for the brain…
Should have a fresh link (and video) pretty soon for larq if you can hold out a bit! Love that most stuff too, definitely origami inspired which is fun
@@joshfenn take your time
Hey fella I really don't appreciate being called a dehydrated fool. 🤨
Hahaha gotta stay hydrated
@@joshfenn btw, have you reviewed or can you recommend a good dopp kit(s)?
I haven’t found any significant standouts but really like the one from AER, it’s been my go-to for a while. Gravel has some really nice options too, I usually am bringing one of those with me
@@joshfenn Thx Fenn 👍
I don't think you are allowed to bring 20k battery in flight. Maximum is 10k.
Anything under 100Wh is allowed, this one comes out to 99.5. 101-160Wh is allowed with special permission beforehand as well
www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/whatcanibring/items/lithium-batteries-100-watt-hours-or-less-device
@@joshfenn probably in the USA.
… and europe
@@joshfennI’m glad you answered
“I don’t think” is the worst answer ever unless it’s backed up
Thanks for clearing that up
