- Royal Enfield Hunter 350 - KNOX review feat. Adam Child
The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is the latest in a spate of incredibly successful new motorcycles from Royal Enfield. With a radical new and sporty aesthetic, nimble handling and excellent build quality with an amazing price point, at first looks the Hunter 350 appears to deliver!
Adam Child, motorcycle journalist and guest Knox presenter flew out to Bangkok, Thailand to sample the goods and joins us in this episode to share his thoughts.
In this video, Adam was wearing:

Hit the nail on its head..... I'm 62 with a Bonneville, Tiger, T595 Daytona, BMW R1100RT...... and a 15 year old Enfield 350T to use everyday
I need a Hunter!
If anyone here is wondering about tires for their Hunter 350, check out the Bridgestone BT46. I've been running them (and the BT45 before it) on my EX500 for years now, and they've served me wonderfully. Excellent traction in the dry and the wet, great life, and a very good feel.
Thanks for the recommendation!
Thank you, you kind sir.
Looks an excellent choice for the modern rammed British roads. Like the reviewers mention, it’s a bike for everday use. Unfortunately bigger bikes are being relegated to unused toys.
Watching them being thrashed around the kart track suggests there's a low cost race class possibility here. Stripped down, but otherwise stock, Hunters racing on kart circuits and smaller club race venues… maybe organiser supplied bikes, using a 'take the keys from the box' set up like the old 350LC series, where competitors pay an entry which includes use of a bike, thus cutting down transport costs. Racing would be close because it would be about rider skill, not rider wealth.
Publicised and televised … maybe encouraging a few 'celebs' into the fray… and it would do RE's visibility no end of good while encouraging new younger motorcyclists. It would also be great marketing for the bike. Maybe Knox could get involved 😆
I hope these come to the USA. Didn't see these on the website for the USA. What appeals to me? The air-cooled, under-square engine, low end torque & nice exhaust note. Also looks a little like British bikes of the 70s.
Can't wait to see you take this up a mountain or two...cos even though it is a 'small' 350...these are super capable!
Hope so!! Aaron KNOX
Great video as always! The Hunter 350 will definitely sell well in the UK
thanks guys, yes sure it will be v popular!
like the easy flowing discussion. thanks for that
Thanks glad you think so! Aaron KNOX
Just found this review - First Class!!!
I have a 350 classic bought to ride and commute in Surrey/South London and the bike did everything very well. I have now moved to South Wales and with little or no congestion, faster roads and steep hills it is still fun but not ideal. I will add a bigger bike and enjoy the Enfield when distances and speed not an issue. It is a fab bike two up for a Sunday potter around the lanes, trip out, etc.
How is this in comparison to the Honda GB350S? Such similar bikes.
This is a great little bike, better reviews on UA-cam though.
Excellent review
Many thanks, appreciate it! Aaron KNOX
Nice review and having lived in the Philippine for more than 10 years, I can relate to the chaotic traffic conditions! I think that this bike will be a great success for RE, but having moved back to West Australia recently, I'm not sure that it will be as well suited here as it will be in the UK.
Get a 650 mate
@@KeshMatters The just-released Super Meteor's looking very inviting!
You say in the back of the garage with your z1 etc ,but I think this bike will be the first to come out same as my classic 500 there is something special about RE they have soul.
I have a Hayabusa and an Aprillia Tuono factory, guess which bike I use the most ? My 20 something HP RE Himalayan...! Lol....
Wonderful little bike shame it's only 20hp . But it's simple and effective
if i can take my scooter up a hill without roads with its 8NM torque and 12 inch wheels, then this bike will do just fine.
RE Super meteor 650 cruiser launching at eicma on 8th November, let's see how it goes for them..
I'm really hoping this will be at the nec later in the month, thanks guys
Thanks Martine, yes it should be there! Thanks, Aaron KNOX
Riding a bike in Bangkok and other cities in the Far East is a Sport in itself, it should be made a sport, an R1 couldn't do the job better!
I should add if it was made a sport McWilliams is game for anything and would be right in there. The Bagger Series to The Suicide Series.
super meteor 650 coming..
Excellent video! The RE Hunter 350 is certainly a gorgeous bike. I wish it weighed 40 to 50 lbs less (it's heavy for 20 hp). I'm looking at a Kawasaki z400, which is 35+ lbs lighter and has MORE than twice the horsepower (for just a little more money). The Hunter is awesome looking, though...
I'd say it costs significantly more not just a little.
If we were talking about the honda cb300r just before the price went up then yeah but i think around £1800 more is a fair chunk.
@@letni9506 Hey there! The Hunter 350 is not yet available in the US; however, the Classic 350 costs US $4,799 and the Meteor 350 costs US $4,899. Whereas, the Kawasaki z400 costs US $5,399. So there is a $500 to $600 difference, here in the USA.
Good stuff Aaron ,, get chad back good crack 👍🏻all the best mark 🇬🇧🍺👍🏻
Thanks Mark! Yes Chad back v soon. Thanks Aaron Knox
Just can't get that excited over a little air-cooled 350 with 20 hp. Might be a good city bike in some places outside the U.S., but like they say, "there's no replacement for displacement". Here in the U.S., we don't have a tiered licensing system like they do in Europe, so I wouldn't think there'd be much of a market for a small bike like this in the States.
DNA FILTER, Fuel X lite, BT46 tires😊
Feels like a budget Bonneville. Should do very well
true about the tires that we want tires that last for ever, when my rear tire of the scooter burst , i went and bought ceat tires for 12gbp which claims to last 100000 kms.
I want one for when it’s too wet and mucky to take my Interceptor out!
This one is also bad at wet mud conditions
Heavy for a 350 at 181 kg. AN XSR700 is only five kilos heavier. It's the best-looking 350cc bike on the market. The blue/white one looks the best. I wouldn't call the 350 aspirational. There are stacks of big bikes in Thailand. There's a burgeoning middle class. The RE is cheap transport and a few steps up from a Honda Wave. Adam explains well why it is so cheap.
I really enjoyed that video, partly because I like Adam Child, partly because I live in Thailand and partly because I want a new second bike. The trouble is I've already got a 390 Duke which has to be a better bike.
I should add that this is what I pay for third party insurance on my KTM 390 Duke in Thailand: 14.23 GBP; road tax: 2.37 GBP. And those figures included a small fine for late payment.
I don't like most of the REs, even though from India. Too unwieldy (older 500s), too heavy (himalayan), weird ergonomics (interceptor). However the hunter felt just right when i sat on one. You do not feel the weight, it is lithe and nimble. Also It felt better put together than the other REs.
This will give the Honda Rebel 300 a run for its money.
Good review but in India people want more than they afford not a good choice for every indian BTW 4 star review
you haven't watched it all, its only been uploaded 4 minutes! 😂 Aaron KNOX
@@KnoxArmour somebody tried being a smart a## hehe
RE have many useless models.
3 engines in more than dozen bikes.
Re need atleast 10-12 engines to be a world player.
I just came back from india and there everyone buying classic only.
😂😂 its a dream bike for middle class every boy from kid to old ❤ re sell emotions more than bike❤❤
You're lying if you're you didn't see any himalayans.
