I had GIGANTIC one caves 250meters in length in Hollow bough that was also length3 complexity3 in 400 morkite mission. Also Deep Biozone can also spawn insanely large caves!
I had one from a mining mission in Salt Pits, it was J-shaped and easily 300m long. Unfortunately it was also Low Oxygen, so the mission ended up taking over 2 hours. At least that fit the name "Abyssal Run".
I had a similar looking cave (a bit smaller, but quite similar in structure) with low gravity and as a Scout. Felt like freaking Spidermand never touching the ground and just swinging everywhere. Was freaking awesome
I recently got a double-this-cave-size double room, missing a scout with 20 morkite left to find...on hollow bough. It was amazing...was top 2 biggest caves ive ever seen. We loved it, stayed 70 minutes just to find the missing morkite in another little room. I can only imagine the bliss if i find one like that in dense biozone...damn.
Glacial Strata was the first biome i found that type of generation in. It was beautiful. A year later I found it again in Magma Core and my eyes rolled. Of course i wasn’t Scout for either so i had to run and platform everything. The crystalline version looks awesome with those crystals and webs.
I recently had a giant cave system on a 3 length 3 complexity 400 morkite mission in the fungal as a scout. The cave consisted of 7 huge caverns, the largest didn't even fit on zoomed out map screen. It was horseshoe-shaped with kind of a multi layer structure thanks to the roots (cavern was about 150 meters ceiling to floor). Mission lasted for 2 hours
I call these wroshyr caves. Very rare but massive. Only thing that sucks is they're usually pretty bare. Almost nothing in them. Unless you have boolo caps for a secondary, then you best believe they are gonna be SOMEWHERE in that massive cave.
today ive joined friends escort duty just as he started drilling and when we found out that somewhere close to spawn a lithophage spawned i noticed how big was the cave, best part were several of the dna helixes in there
Oooooo a very rare cave generation guys good job finding it, I believe it’s called the crystal protodermis sea, DRG never stops amazeing me even after years of playing
I’ve only played for a year or so but I was awestruck by this one! You should see the one in the video that I just posted this morning it’s also crazy!
I have 300 hours on this game and I've only found caves bigger than this one twice, one in glacial strata with a room filled with massive tilted ice pillars and the other in hollow bough, where the cave was so wide and tall we couldn't find the exit even with 4 people lol
I had one strange cave generation for an Egg Hunt mission in Radioactive Exclusion Zone. It was not actually one giant room, rather it was pretty clearly a lot of rooms which were generated so closely together that they still formed one huge room anyway. This also resulted in a lot of odd dead ends everywhere due to tunnels being only half formed.
I once had an absolutely insanely massive cave generate in On-Site Refining in Magna Core. There weren't any sub tunnels or other caverns. It was so wide and far across that you couldn't see either end, and so tall you couldn't see the ceiling. It had a few horizontal noodles hanging from the ceiling here and there (once of which the escape pod landed on) but for the most part it was a giant vast underground dome.
I had a similar sized but definitely smaller cave in the hallow bough with a big bridge across the middle covered in vines. Not only that but i was scout, with either rich atmosphere or low gravity (cant remember which) i probably spent around 20 minutes dicking about zipping around that cave before looking for any morkite. That was at about 30 hours playtime, im now at 200+ and havent seen anything similar since.
I had a cave 3-4 times the size of that in height and lenght on a solo mission and i was totally perplexed and kinda shocked, it was one massive cave nothing else. I have never seen something like that before or after. Thank god i am a scout main so getting around was less of a challenge.
these caves come even larger in size. they might look cool, but are a really bad sign in mining missions, because, even if the cave is HUGE, you WON'T get proportionally more resources. i hosted a game in a cave like that, and had the usual randoms join the game, we all came to the conclusion that i should cancel the mission, because it could've actually taken hours to find some morkite - or nitra - before completely running out of ammo and getting overrun by bugs.
or alt+F2 if you have an nvidia GK, to activate Ansel, which gives you limited freecam, control over FOV, roll, multiple configurable and stackable filters, 360° (VR), stereo (3d) and super highres (> your screen resoultion) options to make screenshots.
Noooo if you pressed start, the seed, according to others as i've found gigantic caves too, the seed is at the bottom left by your characters. Would've been an amazing seed to share for others to check out too
@@brandinorules i wish i had known that too. i had a cave like this (in the same biome no less) half a year ago that was 350 meters in diameter, and about 150-200 meters in height. gigantic crystals going EVERYWHERE, top to bottom, with some of the glowy crystals that added natural lighting. it was the most fascinating cave i had ever seen in this game and people still don't believe me when i tell them about it. the way that looking too far into your cave makes it unable to render (like at 54 seconds into this video) is what the cave i was in looked like from EVERY side. standing in the middle, it looked as if you were surrounded by a gigantic void. how ironic it was that it was an escort mission, and the heartstone was tucked away into some tiny room off to the side of the colossal cave. i wanted to stay there for hours just exploring it all but i had to go to work so i didn't have time to explore it all
The only missions that can spawn massive caverns like this are length-3 complexity-3 mining, escort, and refinery missions.
thank you for your wisdom, i need to experience this and now i have a path forward

haven't had a refinery mission with this size cave yet, that'd be nuts.

In my 550 hours I remember only a couple caves this huge and every time I was upset for not being able to fly around as a scout with special powder.
i want to have freecam from the sandbox mod to explore it and get cinematic shots lol
man i got this on dread mission once. it basically turned into hide and seek
Once I saw an area so large the entire cave was one big cavern...it was morkite in azure weald. Needless to say, we lost.
Wow, what a gnarly cave! Thanks for sharing

It’s always on mining exp missions so I’m looking everywhere for morkite.
Awesome, it's pretty rare. I got a generation of similar caves too, with lots of bridges on top in Magma Core unfortunately.

The helixes are sick
I once had a cave that was so huge you didn't even see the back wall and the ceiling was also crazy high

i once found a cave so big, my render distance could not load the entire thing and i had it on high

Once had a much larger cave on Sand Blasted, it was refinery and the cave was this tall and wide, but easily 300 meters long, like a zeppelin hanger
even after hundreds of hours i still find this game gorgeous

That legit looks like a boss room, feels like Karl is gonna pop out of the cealing with dotty under his arm.
that would be a sight to behold

I had a similar experience on magma core to that one but we managed to finish it but it took like 40 min
Small tip. You can hold “H” to hide the hud, so u can take nice screenshots
