14:14 cold radiance isn't just "more cold". it's a 4m radius that cools down bugs by 60/s. that is enough to literally instafreeze any normal sized glyphid. enough to freeze a breeder in 2-2,5 seconds and enough to freeze a dreadnought in about 3 seconds. cold radiance is a flat 60/s freeze which doesn't scale with your freezing power. meaning your cold radiance will deal the same amount of freeze if your crycannon had 5 freeze power or 10 power. this is also why tuned coolder kinda sucks. tuned cooler ads 1 freezing power at the cost of slower charge up time, which is very noticable, and slower repressurizing. if your goal is to freeze bugs at the most optimal rate the clean overclock "improved thermal efficiency" is your best bet. it gives you more ammo and a much longer time before needing to repressurize. an extra tip, combine cryocannon with heavy hitter EPC. this will make EPC shots deal 120 dmg against frozen bugs, assuming you took the dmg mod in t1. if you took the ammo mod instead it'll deal 96 dmg, which is still crazy. 21:18 just 1 more thing about this overclock. hydrogen ion additive takes your base 35.2 dot DPS to 37.2 DPS. and yes, that's only a 2 dps increase. and no, it's not multiplicative, just a flat 2 dps increase. i don't know who at ghost games thought this would be helpfull, but here we are. the slow down does increase from 35% to about 45% so that's a nice increase though. imo not worth ever taking especially as the balanced and unstable overclocks are more versatile and fun.
Driller tip: you can create climbable vertical shafts. Just look up at 85 degrees and spin while you jump. You'd be surprised at how fast you can climb. This is great for getting pesky resources and bombing the caretaker.
@13:20 I think the bulk in the 1st mission was just far enough away for Dottie to not get hit by the main explosion, maybe caught the edge of the one of the explosive projectiles that get launched from the bulk. You *can* blow up a bulk 1 meter away from Dottie and she'll be fine though. She's 100% immune to *all* damage briefly after getting repaired to 100% health, so if a bulk is gonna blow beside her, shooting her yourself to get her under 100%, then immediately repairing can work. Odds are good that you'll get taken out by the boom though, but better that than Doretta! Also, bulks chase dwarves, not the dozer, so splitting up to see which person it's aggro'd on is a good strategy to lead it away. Gotta have a coordinated team to do that though. Always fun to combo hyperprop with frozen status. Love when I bring it and a driller has cryo. My go-to for dread missions (when I dunno what I'll have for teammates) for driller is 1, 3, 2, 2, 1 volatile impact mixture goo. The freedom to just spam regular shots at dreads in the face to keep their butt pointed at your teammates while still doing very solid damage to them is great. The slow duration isn't super long, but if you're regularly hitting the dread it doesn't matter too much and that helps keep you and teammates. Easily deals with regular grunts and such too. Fun video, rock and stone miner!
Yeah when i was watching it back in editing I saw that what happened was our gunner had well placed shield that made the bulk path back up the hill away from dottie at the last moment which was clutch. I know about the invulnerability when repairing to full and I was kinda hoping that I would have had the chance to show it off in that situation but it didnt come down to that lol. Ive never pulled it off in the heat of battle tho. Ill give that goo Loadout a go cause I am not super confident in my build. To the bone!
I sent this to my friend who just started playing the game with me and he mains driller, he said he was greatful that I found someone who knows what they are doing.
based on how you use the satchel charge, I would suggest taking the ammo bags and/or radius instead of damage. In the first mission, for example, you used satchels to terraform and "mine" oil shale. But when the oppressor showed up, you went for a pickaxe power attack. I don't think it's "wrong" to use the satchel that way, but you've set your satchel up poorly for the job you use it for. Your bonus damage didn't impact the mission at all.
Thank you for showing us your Flamethrower build. Flamethrower is my favorite weapon but I always thought that it is weakest driller main weapon. You changed my mind. Rock & Stone!
Man i just found your channel yesterday and watched your engi vid. I main driller and was hoping you had a vid for it but didnt. Came back today and here it is! Perfect timing 😂 love the vids

How do you do caretaker solo with driller? I’m confused why you mention @14:26 your EPC build is not well done. The way you have it built is considered optimal in all difficulties, including modded difficulties such as Haz 6 + double enemy spawns (“Haz6x2”), and Haz 7. And it’s not just the best way to build an EPC, it’s considered the best secondary weapon/overclock/perk setup in the entire Driller kit by a large margin.
why aren't you running the drill mod that cools drills when killing enemies? it helps a lot at least on cryo builds, you can clear a huge crowd of frozen enemies lol
I don't really like thin containment field for the epc. I understand that it takes practice to hit it consistently, but even then it just feels like a waste of ammo. I would much rather go with the burning nightmare to get that temperature shock with the cryo cannon. Also, for the sludge pump I like going the disperser compound or goo bomber special overclock and maxing the stats of the puddles since direct damage and driller's primaries don't go together and also that's subata's purpose. Otherwise, great video!
Thin Containment Field(TCF) is never a waste of ammo. It takes more shots to directly kill a trijaw (not including misses), than it does to TCF (plus TCF kills multiple mactera with every blast, meaning its even more ammo efficient). 2) You lose the ability to mine roof minerals/aquarq/eggs in a timely manner (yes you can perma ping the wall and dig to it then mine it, but that takes usually over 60secs waiting for drills to cool down not factoring in if the mineral is a 2 pickaxe per unit. Compared to shooting 1 or 2 tcf shots and walking on). 3) You know what makes TCF ammo efficient? is the ability to mine nitra anywhere in the cave and have the next resupply quicker. 4) you know what else makes it more ammo efficient, the less time spent in the caves, less time needing ammo to fight, stops the viscous cycle of spending time finding ammo to kill the bugs that spawned in the time it took you to find that ammo. 5) the thin containment field out DPS's the subata, Praetorian at 1x weakpoint at 1200HP requires on average 40 subata rounds! 40! thats a lot of finger clicks, and ammo, and time to reload and shoot all the shots, giving 3.5 pratorian killing potential. Compared to TCF w/ Plasma burn needing 3 TCF's giving us a 6.7 praetorian killing potential, in half the time of the subata, and with way more flexibility. Idk how you can ignore all of these factors, seems pretty ammo efficient to me
@@M1911pap been using tcf again for some time after I posted that comment, and my opinion has changed but not by much. Your points are valid, but it takes time and practice to use tcf consistently. For the time I used it I have wasted a lot of tcf shots because I shot it a bit too early or too late; I remember I once used about 20% of the ammo for some nitra on the ceiling. I'd rather just let Bosco mine the ceiling minerals in solo or other dwarves in public. Subata, yeah, I gave it a bit too much credit, since I only use it with the sludge pump for the explosion, and I deal with big targets with axes. Also, macteras, it's kind of hard to hit more than one with tcf since spawns and bundles usually scatter once they reach you, and I rather just freeze them (if I have the cryo cannon). I did manage to kill two macteras with one tcf shot once, though it was a lucky shot and I couldn't do it again. I have realized tcf's efficiency, but I'm still not gonna use it, I don't have time to learn it, and shooting a burning nightmare projectile through a bunch of frozen glyphids is way too satisfying.
@@oneonlykiha I will say the satisfaction of being able to use it efficiently, is a big draw, like its a flashy skill to have. I get the mactera scattering can be annoying, it is, but better than them all be mid shoot animation I guess. I tried Burning Nightmare, and OMG is it fun to use. I found out it can 1 shot sniper turrets, so thats really cool. Also fuck the Subata, me and all me homies hate the Subata XD R&S brutha!

Also fuck the Subata, me and all me homies hate the Subata XD
R&S brutha!
Like this format.
Also the thumbnail don't match the last video, kinda confusing.
Driller doesn’t have a beard so it makes it a bit hard to make a green to grey comparison lol
@@brandinorules Just give him scout/egi's beard.
Kills 2 teammates in the first 2 seconds of the video XD
Classic driller behavior
you haven't learned how to build builds in 400 levels and don't know about thermal shock, nice
Shock is not better than the dmg boost from ice. Thanks for the engagement on the video tho!
