A suggestion. Put a piece of wax paper on plate before your glitter that way you can fold the wax paper after you have completed your project and "pour" excess glitter back into container. No waste!

So calming and beautiful. I use crystal dishes the way you do milk glass. I might try the same and see how it looks. Use a hairdryer to heat the wax if you want it to melt it a little bit. My daughter and I made candles a couple years ago as Christmas gifts. It was fun looking for unique dishes for our candles at thrift store for our one of a kind candles and adding our own combination of essential oils.

I love the small tree! The frosted pinecones and bell garland look perfect on it! Putting it in the wooden box is charming. I also love the candles in the milk glass pieces. They create a wonderful ambiance that's so cozy for winter. Accent pieces made from old sweaters will definitely add to the coziness.

I'm so glad you've shown that you can use old, broken and used candles to make new ones. I've been doing this for years and putting dried herbs and flowers in the wax always makes it look so pretty. I've even put crystal chips at the bottom over the wick and it looks pretty while keeping the wick in place.

I’ve been looking forward to this video so it made my day when it popped up! This past yr I’ve picked up a variety of beautiful, some vintage mugs at the thrift store along with candles. My mugs are usually.75 and candles not much either. I’ll be starting on mine soon and can’t wait. The nativity looks much more cohesive now, everything as always is beautiful ❤️ I definitely think Matt’s a keeper 😉

This was such a beautiful video, I love seeing your lovely decor and seeing what you are adding next. I love your idea of adding white paint and sparkle to your pinecones, I am going to do that! Thank you so much for all of the wonderful inspiration. PS You have a very sweet husband♥ EDIT: I made myself a candle and it was very fun. I put lots of the essential oil Cinnamon, but it has next to no scent to it when I burn it. Anyway, I'm thrilled that I actually made one.

By the end of this, I felt peaceful & calm for the first time today, I do believe! So many nice ideas are shared here, but, also well filmed and edited. I love your style, too. Now, I do know I need plaid wrapping paper and I am going to decorate b/c of you... I had thought it wasn't as necessary with the kids grown up now; and, we travel to them, (because all 4, have 4 littles apiece!) But, I do think now, I want to feel that sense of calm in my home. I don’t keep Xmas but I enjoy your creativity so much! Especially when you show that simple things like pine cones if well done can look so elegant! I do decorate for the winter months and with definitely be making those beautiful pine cones.

I've tried candle making this way but for me personally it's worth it to buy soy and beeswax at the hobby store and melt it in the microwave. So much faster and less effort! Also both waxes burn clean and do not leave any residue in your container so you can reuse.

How nifty! I’ve always wanted to make candles. Melting old candles is such a great idea. Using candle sticks for holding your wicks till the wax hardened worked out great. 🎉 Your bow tying idea works for many projects.
