Each year, I challenge myself to make and thrift a large portion of our Christmas gifts. My skills continue to improve and I get to pass my lessons on to you, follow along for the 2022 results and let me know in the comments below what you will be making!
This might be my favorite video. I LOVE your ideas and I think I might be able to create my own gifts as well. Would you ever consider doing a wreath making class? I would definitely pay to participate.
This is one of your best videos. It was so relaxing and full of Christmas spirit and the presents you made are so simple but so beautiful. I loved this!
I think so too. There was happiness. Sometime when I watch your videos, you seem quite sad, even though you smile. I hope that you have found happiness moving forward.
Everything you do has such a touch of elegance to it! Thank you for the inspiration. I’m going to try the caramel recipe. I usually make homemade fudge for holiday gifts & everyone loves it. I think I’ll pair it with the caramels for something extra special. 🎄
Your gifts are so lovely! I would squeal with delight to receive any of them. I lost my Mom 4 years ago, I love the idea of the towel with one of her recipes on it. You are so talented, what a beautiful video.
You have such a sweet gentle spirit. Thank you for sharing your talent of putting together beautiful and tasty gifts. My mom made the Christmas caramels every year. Her memory is failing so the past two years she has not made them. You've inspired me to continue this tradition.❤
Sarah, Everything you do is so lovely. I too have a wonderful recipe hand written by my father who is no longer with us. I was so inspired by that particular gift idea to make for his siblings this Christmas. ♥ I so enjoy your beautiful and thoughtful ideas! Thank you and have a blessed Christmas season!
You are such a dear person. Your sweet spirit is so evident in your videos. How incredibly special it was to use your mom's recipe to create the tea towel for your sister. That first Christmas after losing my mom was so hard. 15 Christmases without her and still it is is always bittersweet. You and your family are in my prayers. We keep going don't we? And that Honors them
Thank you Sarah for the thoughtful gift ideas. I love the "doilies as dish cloths" idea. (One of the reasons your matches may not strike on sand paper might be because they're safety matches. This type will only strike on the striker from the box.)
Oh my goodness, you were able to elevate everything. What lovely thoughtful gifts. I'll definitely be making a few of these. I also make lots of homemade dog treats and put them in decorative bags as party favors for my family (lots of dog and cat owners). Wonderful sharing of ideas ❤❤
Sarah, you did such a beautiful job. Those kinds of gifts are the BEST! gifts! They’re gifts that are homemade & made from the heart. And that’s what makes them the best! It’s also what Christmas should be all about. That’s the Spirit of Christmas!!! I think that’s what the whole world needs right now. Peace, Love & the Spirit of Christmas. Hope you’re doing better regarding your mom’s passing. She’s happy in heaven in her new house & with her relatives & friends. They’re all probably celebrating Christmas with a big bash all month & every one’s happy. Then one day we’ll all join them soon. God bless. Merry Christmas Sarah, to you & your Family & Happy New Year.
Absolutely fabulous and so beautifully presented. You've captured so much of what's on many of our minds this Christmas, and inspired us to be even more creative. God bless
Some great ideas thank you very much. I have always wanted to make caramels and never had the nerve to follow a recipe and see how I do. I was so surprised to see your mothers handwriting. It is so similar to my Mother’s. It’s actually made my heart jump to see it somewhere other than my Mother’s recipe cards. Thank you for your great gift giving.
Thank you so much you are so classic and classy your gift presentation and preparation’s are just beautiful. I sure would like to try to make the caramels as gifting’s so so sweet thank you so much sweetheart be blessed❤
Wow - Just stumbled across your video and am so glad I clicked on it. What wonderful ideas and such a relaxed, calming video to follow and enjoy. Thank you for all the well explained gift ideas.
These are lovely. Thank you. I make crocheted dish cloths for gifts. Or adding a small strip of pretty fabric to a washcloth or towel. Making a set of cloth napkins is fun. And something I'm doing this year is jars of dehydrated greens (green onion, celery and chard etc for soup bases or sauces) all from my garden. Tea cups and other small containers also work for candles. Dried roses on homemade soap is also a lovely option.
Your idea for gifts are so interesting and simple your wrapping are so so elegant you really have good taste for decorating the gifts thanks for your video 😊
I loved your handmade gifts. Of all the gifts you made, my favorite was the Holly wreath! I wish I had access to a Holly bush like you did. In my area, we have cedar and juniper trees so I'm thinking to make some wreaths from them. The juniper have little berries on them which makes them extra beautiful. Thank you for the inspiration.
This was really good video. It put me in the Christmas spirit. I am going to attempt to try some of your ideas. Wish me luck. Thanks for the inspiration. I enjoy your channel. Keep up the good work. Merry Christmas!
Lovely elegant video full of thoughtful and special gifts. Did I miss your handmade crochet cloth? Great idea to use vintage crocheted ones. Are they intended to be face cloths or dish clothes? What would you choose to complement it. Can you make dish soap.
Is anyone else having trouble with the audio on these videos?....sometimes crystal clear and then it will sound like she's under water. I thought it was on my end...but these are the only videos that this happens with. I so enjoy she holds dearly videos...sad the audio is acting up.
Realistically, the double sided satin ribbon would probably cancel the thriftiness of your crafts? And while I loved your crafts and intentions, it may still be too soon to gift homemade candies, cookies, and goodies from my kitchen to teachers, neighbors, etc?
Maybe so, I have a large collection of ribbon that I find thrifting, though. You are right about the timing, I have tucked all of these gifts into the freezer for the next few weeks.😂
@@SheHoldsDearly Most of my co-workers, friends, teachers, and etc., are still leary about accepting homemade treats since Covid. That was what I was referring to as “too soon.” Are you finding this true where you live? I did not mean this to be negative.
Love your warmhearted crafts for friends and family. I’m going to try your caramels and I was going to donate a linen table cloth but now I’m going to make some sentimental towels with my mothers hand written recipes. Thank you. I also love your couched wash cloths. Warmth and love to you
Really lovely - such sweet and thoughtful gifts! I can tell that giving is one of your special gifts - the thought and care you put into each one is just so evident! Lovely job - and very inspiring! It's a 'spend nothing' Christmas for this year so I'm looking around for things I can do to bless others!
I just love your videos! You make everything look so beautiful. ❤. I’m not a wreath lover but I do love that one. I have a holly bush out back and I think I’ll try it!

I am making a wreath made from vintage pins. It fits inside a picture frame where you can hang it on the wall or prop it up on a table using an easel.
You’re exactly right! I thought the same thing!
I think so too. There was happiness. Sometime when I watch your videos, you seem quite sad, even though you smile. I hope that you have found happiness moving forward.
Oh my gosh your wreath is gorgeous! You're so lucky to have a holly tree.
This is the REAL way to celebrate.
Everything was lovely, simple and thoughtful.

Absolutely stunning!!! Gorgeous. Love all the packaging and ways you used what you had around the house.
Some beautiful ideas here Sarah. I love the idea of the transfer paper and original old recipes. I think I'll give this a try.
Firstly Sarah, send some of that rain to Colorado. And most importantly, what lovely gift ideas!💝

Great gift ideas. Thank you
You have to get strike anywhere matches (the kind with the white tips) to get them to light on sand paper.
Love all these ideas.
I love this video! So pretty!
Beautiful ideas!!❤
I enjoyed this video
Beautiful gifts. God bless, John 3:16🙏

That was so peaceful your voice the music very calming to for my headache. Thank you.
I did make one and linked the tutorial in the description. I like to use them for dishes, but a face cloth sounds lovely, too.
You can actually buy match strike stickers online in various shapes and sizes and they are inexpensive! 🎄
Oh wow! I had no idea!!
Lovely
Sweet!!
Beautiful!
Where do you get the cute jelly jars? are they old?
I find them at thrift stores and antique shops!

Are you using earbuds? They seems to be the culprit, I’m so sorry you are having trouble.😢❤
No...not using earbuds. It's the strangest thing.🤷
Not sure if you are aware but at several times, there was no sound, only music :( great video otherwise
I'm sorry about that! Did you have head phones in? We've heard multiple issues with users using headphones to watch some of our videos. :(
Is it just my electronics or is anybody else losing sound at different parts throughout this???
I keep hearing this, it seems to be how the surround sound is working in earbuds. Were you using earbuds? I'm so sorry you are having trouble.:(
No, just on my TV. I can hear the background music but not your voice. 🤷♀️
Ok, I’m going to look into this! Thank you for the heads up.
