These "kids" are actually already better than several veteran rock bands out there. They should be taken very seriously. The talent with each of artist is scary. Extremely talented family.

Melody sounds like she smokes four packs a day, but her voice is very distinctive (and awesome). Their covers of Holy Diver, The Trooper, Enter Sandman and Master of Puppets are worth a look.

Just caught you. This is early Liliac. It's pronounced Lil-e-ac. Romanian. Word for bat. These kids are great. Their current ages is Sam 22 Abigail 21 Melody is 19 Ethan transitioned to bass now he's 14 and Justin is now 13. I would like to hear your opinion on Melody vocals closer to today. Their original Mars live in Cummings Georgia or Janice Joplin Piece of My Heart Live at same concert. This family is so special and special doesn't come too often. I was a musician of many years most legit and big band had roommates in college that were vocal majors. I think Melody can control all her rasp and other effects so well at her age. Nice reaction. Great post. One thing I'm afraid of for her and I've seen it with other singers i.e. Klaus Meine, Tom Kiefer, who have that extra power, end up destroying their vocal chords and have to end up with devastating surgeries. I never had surgery, but at 65, I can no longer sing with the raspiness or power I used to in my 30s and even a little of my 40s. But with her father being their producer and having sung himself, I know he's aware of this danger and hope he has it under control. The other thing is the headbanging and head twirling. I and others I know who did that back in the 90s find ourselves suffering terribly in our older years with chronic and debilitating neck pain. I love this band, I care for these kids and want to see them be so universal that they get to the Grammys. I pray for them though.

i love seeing somebody's first reaction to this band.. in my opinion is the best rock band to come out in 20 years.. and a voice that just cant be compared.. and btw, the banshee scream is her signature.. right now i consider her the Queen of Rock.. careful of the rabbit hole.. you cant get back

Melody Cristea has an amazing voice. To hear more of her range try Mars live in Georgia. Rainbow in the Dark, The Trooper, Crazy Train are all amazing covers. I enjoyed your reactions before you discovered Liliac hope to see you dig a bit deeper into this young talent.

These kids used to play live every Sunday on the Santa Monica pier, so despite their youth, they're already seasoned pros.
Also, this video was a few years ago. Since then, the young kid on rhythm guitar here, Ethan, has become the bassist so the singer can focus on vocals.
So, if you watch something more recent, you'll see that. And the 2 younger ones don't look quite so little anymore.
Ethan is turning 15 this year, and the keyboardist Justin is 13.

Yep, you really should check out more by Liliac (pronounced "lilly ack" which means "bat" in Romanian). They are a 5 member band of siblings ranging in age from 13 to 22 now (I think) whose dad and mom are originally from Transylvania. How cool is that? A band of vampires. lol
You can't really go wrong with any of their videos. A couple personal favorites are "Crazy Train (official cover music video)", "Holy Diver (official cover music video)" which really highlights Melody's singing influence from Ronnie James Dio, "Piece Of My Heart (live cover in Cumming, GA)", "Master of Puppets (official cover music video) and originals " Mars (live in Cummings, GA)" and "Sail Away (official music video)".
If you want to see something live and original and a little more current by Liliac they have a live performance of their song Mars on their channel.
I can also highly recommend their cover of Rainbow in the Dark

Congratulations, you've now been Fang'd. They are so good, they have this old rocker lady mad crazy about all of them. from there 2019 US Tour. Liliac has been getting huge the last 2 years. In 2019 Kiss booked them on there Bahamas Kiss Kruise. They were the talk of the Kruise that Kiss Booked them for there final Kiss Kruise X this October. The 2020 Kruise canceled due to covid. There also headling one of the stages at Rocklahoma festival this yeat. Melanie also recorded a DIO song with former Dio band members including Vinnie Appice. They are also releasing tour dates for this year.

Ken, you are the real deal, as an OLD metalhead, i know this is not your wheelhouse, but your education and experience in music theory is obvious. For years, this genre was not considered talented music by the mainstream, but your attitude is more if it's fucking talent, it's talent, regardless of the genre. This is why I have albums from Iron Maiden to Mazzy Star. love your analysis!

It's great to see someone see/hear Liliac for the first time.
I'd recommend the kick ass original "Nothing" and their ballad "Sail Away"
Helps that dad is a record and video producer. I have followed this band when it was just the 3 oldest. The Cristas. They did video 12 year old and brother sing Stay. Abby the drummer played an accordion.

The great thing about Melody’s Amazing Vocals are her pronunciation of the words. Unlike so many of the original versions, Melody puts the lyrics out there to understand.

You should see some of their newer stuff as well as Mars Live from Georgia.. These kids are incredible. But these kids (all siblings) also have covers of : Iron Maidens the Trooper, Dio's Holy Diver and Rainbow in the Dark, Metallica's Enter Sandman and Master of Puppets to name a few.
Been 3 months, might check out Liliac’s newest original “Dear Father”, or any of their other originals.

Makes me hopeful for the future of music with kids that can play music like this. They do a lot of covers but they also have their own original stuff. Check out the Dio and Metallica covers.
Their playing is second to none
Definitely need to check out some of their other stuff. Ethan now plays bass and Melody focuses on singing. They have awesome Dio covers and two albums or originals that are really good. Their Dad produces their music and videos. They have a behind the scenes of one of the videos being filmed for one of the originals. Basically all filmed at their apartment.
And since you just reviewed the Trooper by Maiden, you should watch their version.

Time to re-visit Liliac. Check out their original songs "Madness" or "Carousel". They should not be considered a cover band, even though they occasionally do new covers. Newest cover was "Heaven and Hell" by Black Sabbath. I would love to see you react to one of these songs. Thank you for the reaction to "Paranoid".

They do great covers. Joan Jett, Janis Joplin, and other classic rockers from back in the day. Their original music is great. They have 2 albums out one is called Chain Of Thornes and the other is called Queen Of Hearts. They went on the KISS Cruise 2 years ago and they are going on it again this year also. You must check them out, this video is one of they're earlier ones.
They were quite young here. They are probably 4 years older now. Justin is something like 13 or 14 now and his voice have changed. Melodio's (as Vinny Appice calls her) voice has grown as has her stage presence. That is Sam. Ethan shreds on Trooper. Ethan also now plays bass. Check out their original work. You will hear some range to their playing/singing.
They're all incredibly talented her voice is incredible you need to listen to some more you should hear her do a Janis Joplin song

Well their father is a violinist their mother plays cello and Violin Mainly classical music. You will see nearly whole family range of people in the song Sail Away Melody is an artist as well as a singer bass player.

You spoke of Pappa Liliac. Yes, he's not only proud, but a former music producer and sound engineer in Transylvania, Romania. Grew up very near Dracula's castle. The band name Liliac, as others have said, means Bat in Romanian. The band's terminology for the the style of music they play is Vamp Metal. Based not so much on the music itself, but the clothing they wear while performing. It's very Victorian looking if you know what I mean. But yes, as others have suggested, you have to do more Liliac videos. Your channel's sub rate will skyrocket. Liliac are literally the next big thing. Being as young as they are, and family on top of that, they're be around and only getting better for a long time. The band has taken the world by storm.

Melody and Daria Zaritskaya are the only two female vocalists who can really do this great late 70s and 80s heavy material justice who are known at all.
There are some upcoming cover artists who are almost this good though. Violet Orlando can deliver heavy well.

Justin is learning guitar , Papa announced Melody is learning a new instrument also , but we don't know what it is yet. It's unknown where the new instruments will be used .
This video is several years old now. For their most recent video, check out their cover of Megadeth's "Symphony of Destruction." They did a cover of Metallica's "Master of Puppets" earlier this year as well. Both of which are great and in some ways better than the original. And I'll just tell you that the keyboard element adds something to those songs that we never knew they needed. Especially with "Master of Puppets." Liliac does great covers, but their original songs are excellent as well. They have released two albums of original material, as well as two Covers albums. Their original stuff is Top Notch. Their latest original is "Mystery" filmed by the Georgia Guide Stones. However, they're working on a new video for the song "Dear Father," which should be out in the near future. But they have all of their songs up as individual videos on their channel as just audio videos, but they prefer the live performance videos being the most current version of those songs.
Is there anyway you can react to the band STAIND and the song is called “Something To Remind You” LIVE (last song of the night and the whole band walked off besides the guitar player and singer) , I think everyone can relate to this masterpiece. Cheers from Texas
