Just saw Liliac in concert at The Mercury Ballroom in Louisville KY! Have been following them on UA-cam for 5 years. Finally got to see them live! They apsolutely rocked that stage. Melody just gets better and better! The whole band is badass! Loved the show

She can do it all with her voice. She has an operatic part in their original Dear Father, and you won’t believe how high her voice can get in their original Not afraid (extended version) live and their cover of Seven Nation Army. They have a new original out called Carousel and it is amazing. Mars Live in Cummings Georgia really showcases all of their talents as a band. Look forward to more Liliac reaction videos!
Liliac was asked by Dio's Widow to participate in the Rony James Dio' cancer fund raisers. They were given an extended never released "Last in Line" by Dio's drummer. They learned and performed in 7 days.

"Ronnie would be proud". Yep she almost transforms into RJD when they cover his music, and his widow Wendy is a huge fan. It was their cover of The Last in Line that got me back into rock after drifting away to folk and classical for years. I'm now taken with the Japanese scene, but Liliac will always have a special place in my heart.
I hope you react to some original songs of theirs. They certainly deserve it.

@@billcaldwell2755 Yeah I've been learning about the legends, and X-Japan seem to be top of the heap. It's the explosion of great bands over last decade or so that got me into the scene though. Yoshiki of X-Japan is a fan of my favourite Band-Maid, and his current band did a short tour of the US with them earlier this year.
I wouldn't have heard of any of those bands if it weren't for Liliac though.

Vinny Appice actually knows Liliac and is almost like an uncle figure to them. Wendy Dio asked them to perform The Last In Line for the Dio cancer fund tribute and Vinny gave them a previously unreleased version to do.

Ronnie is Melodia's idol. They do Dio so good that Wendy his wife asked them to do an extended version of The Last in Line for a cancer fund that she was doing in memory of Ronnie. Vinny Appice Ronnies drummer loves this band and kids so much. This version of The Last in Line was never heard before. You should also hear her sing Country Girl with Black Sabath Nights with Vinny, and the band. This is just a few more information on them. Also, the band let us Fangs know you did a reaction on their song, and they always ask us to support your channel. That is what us fans call ourselves. Fangs not Fans because they play what they call vamp metal. Anyway, new subscriber here. Go back and watch them play on the Santa Monica Pier when I think little Justin was just 7- or 8-years old playing keyboard. I think Melodia was just 16 years old. They played Crazy Train. They started bringing in bigger and bigger crowds playing. They had to stop playing there and move on. Even the drummer from Police "Steward Copeland", played with them on the pier.
There great live we opened for them at the Token Lounge in Westland Michigan there super nice and yes the solo was true to the original also they do a cover of The Last in Line its mind Blowing and the solo will blow you away.

Best cover by any band of any song I've ever heard. You could tell she was on it just by the opening "hm mmm mmm". I think he's just following along in his head, outwardly.
IMHO Liliac, The Waring, Plush, Dirty Honey are awesome young bands that are bring rock to a younger generation. I love all these bands and they have renewed my love of music. Melody's voice is absolutely insane. I do not get the hate between the fan base when these young bands need all are support. Great reaction their newest song Carousel is just incredible.

The drummer is the one who plays " Hit Like A Girl " with Paulina Villarreal. She won it in 2017.

I haven't heard of Dirty Honey, But I agree with you about Plush, Liliac and of course The Warning. VOB is also a great band and incredibly brave too doing what they do and where they are from, love their messages and their sound. I'll have to check out Dirty Honey.
The Warning, Liliac, and Plush are all super talented bands that give me continued hope that good music is not a thing of the past. Had never heard of Dirty Honey, looked them up and love them as well, thanks for the tip. You're right that Melody's voice is insane, even at her age she's one of the better singers out there now. I don't get the "hate" between the fan bases either, it's crazy to me that someone can like one band and rabidly hate the other (I get that you might not like both bands or prefer one over the other, but the vitriol is nuts to me).

glad you found these guys. they really are amazing. ive been watching them longer than my other favorite band The Warning. please in no chronological order check out their older stuff such as this awesome video just so you get an idea of their progression. Melodys vocals will continue to make you shake your head with your mouth wide open. i will say that in my opinion LILIAC's new song Carousel is pretty bad a$$.

this is about 5 years ago, they don't look the same and there skill has grown, and there sound has changed some, but they can kill it guys, trust me, I'm 58 and these kids have it. Whatever you guys watch will be great, they don't have anything that's not good or awesome good, RO&RH

A Close Friend of mine that I grew up with, called me from New York and said, "Bro, you gotta hear this New Band !!" I Loved the fact that they were Crushing the Classics. I own all 3 Original CDs and Love them. I actually drove an hour North of Cape Coral to Bert's Black Widow Harley Davidson and did the Meet & Greet, pics, autographs and the Show. They were a little shy in person especially since I'm 56 and they're like my Daughter's age, but once they get on stage, they Come to Life. They did Not disappoint. I even met their Father, "Papa Liliac" - Very Cool in person. I've seen ALOT of Bands going back to the 70s, Some are Always Great, No matter what; Like KISS who are meant to be seen & heard LIVE , but then I saw Bands that I Love like the Ramones and they were Awful Live. LILIAC was On Point. Nothing Fake. They are So Talented. They are going to be Part of the New Generation that Keeps Old School ALIVE as well as their Originals. I Can't Wait to see them Again.

Welcome back Sam, hope you're feeling well. You really make some sharp comments Sam, definitely a lot smarter than you look (and I mean that as a huge compliment).
Their cover of "Rainbow In The Dark" is what got me hooked on them us as fans are called "Fangs"
You HAVE to run not walk to listen to their newest one: "Somber Cry".... they have changed so much. They also dropped one less than a month ago that is a killer: "Carousel". Thx for the Liliac reaction.
Did you notice how he absolutely nailed Viv’s solo? Not many covers of Dio manage that.
When they started off and were known as the Cristeas, they consisted of the 3 oldest and Sam was the lead singer. Sam and Melody sang only and Abigail played the accordion. They played pop music. Melody took over when they started playing heavier stuff. Sam has a really beautiful voice. Listen to Somber Cry, a more recent song. Sam is the lead singer in that one.
Dio is Melody's idol.
Where the Hell have you guys been. These kids have been tearing up You Tube since 18. It’s been fun watching these kids grow up before my eyes.

Great reaction. A lot more to discover from this fantastic band. Melody's voice is simply captivating. What is more amazing is that they are totally independent. They do everything from writing, producing, video, promotion, etc. Slow, but steady for sure. They have so far refused draconian label contracts , so no "muscle" behind them, except for the fans (referred to as Fangs). Hopefully, the right label and contract comes along were they keep their masters and creativity intact. Currently touring the US and in the works, Europe as well.

Sam, the guitarist, can and does sing himself. But as for his guitar playing, he is perhaps one of the cleanest guitar players you will ever hear.
Melody was 17 in this video. Vinny Appice calls her Melo-Dio because he feels she is the female reincarnation of Ronnie. Wendy Dio(so ompressed by them) asked them to do a video of Last In Line for the RJD cancer tribute fund virtual concert. Melody has also performed song for GoDPS Live with Vinnie Appice, Rudy Sarzo and Michael Angelo Batio. There are videos available for that. Melody also did a few songs with Vinny Appice's Sabbath Knights.

Yes, Liliac is pronounced “Lil-e-ac”. I believe they haven’t had as much recognition because they are independent and don’t have a big label behind them. They’re currently touring and one part of the tour they’re the special guests of Queensryche.
If you liked this, then you ain't seen nothing yet -- musically, vocally and talent wise. They have matured and grown so much since this video was done.

Melody's voice is so versitile. She does an qwesome job with their cover of "Piece of my Heart" and "I Hate Myself for Loving You". The entire band is excellent and just keeps getting better. Ethan took over the bass from Melody not long before this. Their original song "Mars" live in Cumming, GA 2019 is an incredible song that starts with an awesome solo from Sam. In "Vertigo" live in woodstock, GA Melody adds a brief bit of throat singing. Every cover and original they do is excellent. My favorite cover is "Seven Nation Army". "Carousel" is the newest video they released is from their new albumn "Madness" which is for sale July 7th. They have already started touring this year and are opening for Queensryche in one of their shows.

Their best cover, imo, is their cover of Seven Nation Army. They improved on the original tenfold. You should probably do "Mars" next, the live performance in Cumming, GA.

I'm 66 and I cried a little when I 1st heard them do Holy Driver, and Crazy Train, Paranoid, Enter the Sand Man. This girls Voice is Rock and Roll.
CAROUSEL SHE KISSES THE SKYS
First of all don’t be too hard on yourselves, I mispronounced the band name the same as you guys at first, lol. As far as Liliac goes I started watching their UA-cam videos of cover songs and was blown away by their musicianship and by Melody’s powerful voice. In their covers of Dio songs, Rainbow In The Dark, Holy Diver and The Last In Line, they definitely use them as tributes to Ronnie James Dio, especially because RJD is Melody’s favorite singer and her biggest influence on her vocals. Matter of fact when they did the cover of The Last In Line it was done in support of the Ronnie James Dio cancer fund and Wendy Dio was extremely honored. Liliac has done many, many covers from Iron Maiden’s The Trooper to The White Stripes Seven Nation Army, in my opinion their best cover to date is Metallica’s Master Of Puppets, they do a masterful job on Master you’ve got to listen to it.
Now onto their originals, Liliac has a good number of great original songs off of their first 2 albums Chain Of Thorns and Queen of Hearts. Some of their originals to check out are Nothing, Mars, Not Afraid (listen to the live extended version), Hit The Lights and their ballad like Sail Away.
I’ve been listening to Rock music since I was 6yrs old (mostly The Beatles) then onto heavier stuff by the time I was 13 or 14 (Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin etc.) at 60 I’m still into the guitar oriented Rock and I think this band will be a huge success.

Melody, the lead singer, claims her chief influence was Ronnie James Dio. You should check out Liliac's cover of of Last in Line and Melody actually singing a cameo of Country Girl from the Mob Rules album with Vinnie Appacie's band Sabbath Knights. Both are ferociously unique, but full of Dioesque presence.
Their original stuff is awesome.

As you may notice some of The Warning fans might drop by to diss on LILIAC. Both bands are extremely talented. LILIAC are still independent and may remain that way for the foreseeable future as they seem to enjoy. As many will say they have done many covers and all are very well done. Most have their own spin on it. This one not so much as you could tell. Melody loves Dio as he is her main inspiration. Yes, Melody has a very unique voice which will separate her from many. As these kids have aged they have improved, tremendously. They have developed a decent catalog of originals as well and unlike one person’s comment in your comments section stated. LILIAC is not gimmicky but being independent covers is giving them exposure. They as a band have decided currently NOT to sign a deal, it’s not like they have not been approached. In this video they are still very young. During this time frame the band made a significant change as Ethan switched to playing bass.
If you really want to see how this young band has grown you might want to check out an older video such as Enter Sandman as you will see Melody playing bass. They made a change and Ethan today is extremely solid bass player. If you want to see something live their “Mars” will give you a great example how good they are live or songs from their Madlife concert. But remember this was about three plus years ago and kids mature and grow allot in that time span. They have a new album coming out in July as this will be their 3rd. Some people will say LILIAC is a cover band, many that do for what ever reason are The Warning fans which is really too bad as both young family bands are really damn good. Anyway, nice reaction but hopefully you take another look at LILIAC. You all seemed pretty amazed by Melody’s voice as many are and you might be surprised how she has improved her range. Cheers….

True The Warning fans should not be dissing Liliac or any other band as that is not what Dany, Pau and Ale promote, they are respectful to all bands and artists. I know it does happen, but that is something that would not please DPA if they heard their fans dissing other singers and bands.

I challenge you to try some of their originals (Mars live in GA, Dear Father, Carousel) but for sure check out Master of Puppets live w/ Aiden Fisher. So impressed by this performance, especially Abby holding it all together on the drums.
Melody used to play the base guitar. She has an amazing voice. Their dong Sail Away is Awesomeness and Dear Father is good also they play Enter Sandman. Sam is amazing on the guitar. Mel now has short hair.

They are all fantastic listen to their original MARS Live Cummings Georgia. Sam is going to be a master guitarist in no time at all his skill is next level fantastic and clean. The drummer outstanding and always smiling she is infectious.
Abigail draws you in with that huge hart felt smile and the you get kicked in the gut by Melody's insane vocals. What a ride.
This was the first video I saw by Liliac and became an instant fan and have been jamming to them ever since. Love these guys! You just wait til you find more stuff by them like The Last In Line, Master Of Puppets and yes even a metal version of 7 Nation Army that will blow you away! Their originals are amazing, Chain of Thorns, Not Affraid Extended Version, Dear Father, Nothing ( which was shot in their living room during covid ) and their newest one Carousel oh and can't forget the beautiful ballad Sail Away! These guys will have you saying Rock On and Rock Hard!
There a great band live we opened for them this is even more powerful live we were amazed that night and the last song was the last in line by Dio check that one out to its epic .

Liliac is incredible. Abigail the drummer is the force for these siblings. She is absolutely one of the best drummers I've ever heard. Sam is an amazing guitarist. Melody is a perfect voice for hard rock and metal. Ethan has been the most improved part in my opinion. His bass playing is incredible. And Justin just brings a welcome addition with his keyboard and piano.
I don't think there is another person on this Earth that can sing it so close and also have Dio's mannerisms while performing. She has it down. It also carries over into some of their own music. Love them!!
I follow Liliac to different reactors. Your introduction was awesome and your reaction just as good. They just brought you another subscriber and I look forward to seeing more of your reactions both past and future. I'm sure you've gotten a lot of requests in the comments, but the best place to see Ethan, the current bassist, show his guitar skills is in their cover of The Trooper. Mars (live in Cummin Ga. would be my suggestion for a live original.
BTW, Liliac encourages reactors to share their music so you don't have to pause for reactions, I don't mind reactions during the song, but with them, it's not necessary. 🤘 RORH!!!
Probably the best tribute style version of this song Ive seen. You cannot replace RJD but you can honor the memory and this performance does just that. I heard they were actually approached by former band mates and Dio's widow for a few pieces of work. Great band and very good talent.
Next time rock out with liliacs Mars live Cummings ga, you will get a better idea of the rest of the bands talent, then the newest video carousel to see how they've evolved

Part of the reason they're underexposed I think is because they're determined to remain independent. It would take one heck of a record deal to get them off that. They've had to work hard to build a following without label backing, but it's working for them. Their covers got everyone's attention because they do great work, but they're doing more originals now that they've built a following.
Melody started out singing and playing bass, with Ethan doing rhythm guitar. He took over bass to let her be more mobile.
Melody sees Ronnie James Dio as an absolute idol, and Wendy Dio liked their sound so much she asked them to produce something for the benefit she does every year for the Dio Cancer Fund. They did a Last in Line video and crushed it (to the point that Vinny Appice nicknamed Melody "MeloDio" and has had her work with his band Sabbath Knights several times).
We Are The Children is one of many (MANY) butt kicking originals. You'll love that one. Glad you found out about these guys. Have fun with it!

I love this band liliac and I got a correct you on one little thing it's not an all-girl band it's an all sibling band. I would say probably one of the best original of the band for their own music would be SOMBER CRY
