Hi Ben! I know someone that was doing similar to this, but was using the solar pumps, etc. This looks easier.

Drain pipe not painted? Works OK?

Yep, it's actually a double layer drain pipe with a black ABS inner layer -- completely dark inside, so no paint needed. Sealing up the ends is kind of a pain, figured out the best way is to use a plumbing torch to soften up and bend the ends shut.
