Rawin Taychamekiatchai why would you hack the game in the first place this game is meant to be played in a specific way. theres no point in hacking it.
Sans devotion to his promise to Toriel is amazing. Especially for a character who claims he doesn't care about anything anymore and says he doesn't give anything his all. He watches over Frisk and spends time with them, judging their actions. There was a high chance that ANY Frisk from any reset would be merciless, or at least one that kills his brother, but he keeps his promise. He breaks his promise in ONE route only, and that's genocide, if only to get the player to reset and start over in a route where he doesn't have to break his promise. In every other route, he keeps it till the bitter end, even in routes where almost nothing is left. Even if you kill Papyrus and Toriel. Why? Because Toriel shared a laugh with him. That such a simple thing could form a relationship where Sans gives his all for a person other than his brother. Sans maybe an immature prankster, but he's one with more devotion and loyalty than practically anyone in the game. And that's what makes him a great character, besides all the memes.
It is just not Toriel though. He also keeps Papyrus' belief too even if you kill Papyrus you must remember Papyrus believed anyone could be a person if they just tried and Sans is giving you that even though he probably hates your guts at that point just to uphold his brother's belief and again he also goes against that belief in one route only
So much so that sans doesn't really care that the underground potentially was left desolate and that other monsters die, as long as he's with toriel and papyrus he doesn't care about the rest
I agree but I think it more when all monster are dust he can't see the child anymore. He see a monster that didn't try to change now force to fight as he the judge of judgement hall. He hold out to the very end and ask you " if it possible for someone to change if they just try", one last hope from his brother words. But the monster step forward so he ask one last time but you refuse as he the only thing standing in your way. I love sans and I kinda like how he seems like the meme lord make him special. Because only those that get to know what lies under the bones can see him for who he, a gentleman and deep faith in you knowing you can do good.

The whole "You'd be dead where you stand thing" is, to me, scarier then actually fighting him in the genocide route. In genocide, you as the player realize that you deserve to be punished. In this route, pacifist or neutral, If he hadn't made that promise to toriel, even if you were being a true pacifist, he would absolutely decimate you, right their and then in the forest as soon as you walked through the door. No matter your intentions, without that promise you never would have made it past snowdin

I think its because when he saw the human he assumed that you were the one messing with the timeline, and that it is entirely possible that you would have done the genocide run. Basically Sans doesn't know the players intentions and never truly does. Because the way i see it, you're just as evil If you do the genocide run and end the universe, as if you were to help them escape, only to go back and do it again, and again, and again. You know that this is the cause of sans' laziness because he figures that even if he gets to the surface, depending on what you do, it could all be gone. So in that sense you the player is the one xausing that problem, and sinse he doesnt retain most memories from previous timelines, he doesnt know how many times you've reset, and why. This is super long sorry lmao
Actually the sans fight would be fairly easy in pacifist because no karma and you'd maybe get invincibility frames. But also your HP ia capped at 20 so hm
Funny how this song describes Sans' constant struggle between timelines. "Knowing that one day, without any warning, it's all going to be reset." Sans is probably one of the best characters by background. Imagine having nothing to do aganist an unstoppable power. Instantly, it all goes away. Most of undertale fanbase don't care that much about his feelings, background... his interest in quantum physics and timelines... so much drama and good story there. Sans is my favorite character. Not because of memes and megalovania, but because of his background, feelings and personality. Thank you for reading.

How can this scene be any different? EASY The moment you follow Sans into the shortcut and appear at the table, Sans and Frisk somehow have a brown coat and brown fedora. "It's Raining Somewhere Else". The deep music that its title can also mean *somewhere else*, a genocide timeline is happening, and how close is it for us to do the same. Like one man said: "You can hear rain in the distance all throughout the song. The rain is somewhere else, and seems much more distance than it is because of the serene music covering it up. But it's not as far as it sounds. Now, picture this. You're on a Pacifist Route. Everyone's laughter and joy makes it seem as though a Genocide Route is so far away, almost impossible. But, in reality, it's just the click of a few buttons away. So, the serene music covering up the sound of the rain is like the joy of the Pacifist Route covering up the despair of the Genocide Route. It seems so far away, and it is somewhere else, but in reality, that somewhere else is very close by."

I'm listening to this literally 4 years after undertale came out and I'm just now noticing some of the really gorgeous detail put into this music. Just noticing sans' leitmotif being subtly put into the melody of this song is crazy to me, and just makes me appreciate how amazing this game's music is. Toby Fox really does have a talent.
This scene reminds me of an aspect that I really don't like about the Undertale fandom, specifically the Sans fans. I feel that a lot of people like Sans for the wrong reasons. As of now, he's pretty much been regulated to "that skeleton that makes jokes with a cool battle theme", but his character is so much more (arguably the deepest character in the game). This scene reveals how Sans is more than a wise cracking meme. He's a person who hates making promises, but will keep them anyway if it makes his friends happy. He's a character with motivation, sympathy, sadness, loneliness, DETERMINATION. To put it shortly, it sucks seeing a character with so much emotion in his bones be simplified by the fans as "the guy you fight when Megalovania plays" or "that character little girls have a crush on". Sans deserves better.
Snowdrake's a pretty tragic character when you think about it: - One day, his mother died. Alphys tried to revive her but ended up just turning her into an amalgamate. - His father doesn't think Snowdrake will be a great comedian. - Due to how his family thinks of him, he ran away. - His brother Chilldrake keeps trying to find him, but to no avail.

This song is the definition of bittersweet. That's the vibe I'm getting from it. I'm staring out of a foggy window in a small breakfast place in the early morning, when it's still dark, and it's raining on the other side. Breakfast places aren't all that popular anymore, but I'm glad this one is still up - it has a very home-y feeling to it. The table and chair I sit at are tucked away into a corner, and I've just been given a cup of steaming hot chocolate, the mini-marshmallows already halfway melted. I draw a frowny face in the condensation and smile.

Undertale had so much going on. Epic fights and touching moments, funny puns and heartbreaking scenes... Yet, this song ended up being stuck in my head the most. Sure, this song was played as Sans had dinner with Frisk and revealed the promise he made with Toriel, and that had definitely already made the song memorable. But this song is more than that. It just leaves an odd feeling in your heart... Loneliness? Sadness? Nostalgia? Relaxation? Happiness? I have no idea, and that's the beauty of it. A lot of comments on "It's Raining Somewhere Else" videos I see are people reminiscing, telling their stories and feelings, some are having an existential crisis, while others are sharing what they think the title of this song means. It just really gets you to think and feel. Truly, this is one phenomenal song, in an incredible game.
That is what I love about this song. It makes you feel... Something but what that something is, no one seems to know. It does really seem to be a mix of nostalgia, fear, tranquility, existentialism, dread, and most importantly I think it feels like nothing, or rather it feels cold and empty, but also warm and welcoming almost. This song is really confusing to me and that is why it is one of my favorite in undertale
A while ago my friends and I would get together like every other weekend at my house. I have a trampoline, and when it got late we'd just go out, stare up at the stars, put this on, and talk. About whatever, space, aliens, time, who cares? We didn't. We didn't have a care in this world. A lot changed since then. My mother passed after a 5 year long struggle with breast cancer which she was going to inevitable lose do to a series of poor choices on her part. But, what can you do? This song brings a lot of happy memories of those days, of walking down to the Store to buy snacks, come back, and just fuck off. We didn't have a care in the world, and I so desperately would love to go back to those days. We ended up having to take down said trampoline, for some insurance change bullshit. I just put it back up a week and one day ago from writing this. If you're reading this, God bless you. And I hope your sleep is deep.
This is the song that portrays the true sans. not the 'cool skeleton who can crack a joke and can kill you 500 times'. This song really brings out how sad sans's life is, and how worse it would be without the people around him. A world where everything functions properly without his friend. His true friend.

This piece kind of makes me think of Asriel after a Pacifist run. Alone in the vast expanse of the underground with only a memory of his friends, his family, and his people. I feel like he regrets his sins as he aimlessly wanders, wallowing in sorrow and sadness for that which he cannot change. The fate he is condemned to for the rest of time.
this song has always invoked a feeling of emptiness for me... I choose to interpret this song as meaning that somewhere at any given time... it's raining. Someone out there is sad. No matter how happy things around you may seem. It is raining somewhere else. While the concept of that may seem complete enough... while the question may seem to simply be "do you care? Is it important to you that someone else is sad right now?"... I feel as if it goes deeper. Personally I would say that I do care. However it leaves me feeling empty knowing... that doesn't really matter. There's nothing I could do to help them in that moment. Whoever it may be feeling that sadness... whoever that random person is that i've never even met before... it hurts to know that they're suffering... that there's nothing I can do to help them with that. I simply have to let it happen. I suppose that's my full thought on this specific subject... however I would like to end this comment by simply saying that it does get better. Whether or not that means anything to you is your own choice... but I truly hope that it does. The sad truth is that there isn't really any way to just fix that sadness most of the time... you just have to see it out to the other side. So if you have any desire to end it all... if even a slight "would things be better?" or "would it even matter?" in your head... you're going to be okay. It does get better. Ultimately no matter how hard this life may be... the good moments are absolutely worth seeing it through to the end. Don't try to convince yourself they aren't. No matter where you are, sadness is flowing somewhere else. No matter where you are, It's raining somewhere else. It might not be your reality, but you killed them all.
Sans is much more than a meme, and this soundtrack very explains why, as it's not just about being nice to listen to or being hard to make, it's about what it does or what it's for. "It's raining somewhere else"? You might think this is referencing a genocide route, and if you're doing a pacifist route, this may seem so far away, almost like it could never happen. But it's just a few clicks away. This is why you can hear ambient sounds of rain throughout the song. It's far. It's "somewhere else" but not out of hearing distance. Never too far. It's just raining somewhere else. It doesn't have to be raining for it to BE raining. Sans is right when he says "you would be dead where you stand". You really would be. Sans even said he hates making promises, and he would have just killed you if Toriel didn't say anything. This means if Toriel wasn't so loving, you wouldn't have even made it past Snowdin. That's why everyone makes genocide out to be so bad. Because it is. You're exploiting others who care and believe that you'll do the right thing, even if you don't. Just like papyrus believed in you. This is why at the end of genocide, sans fights you then. and only THEN. Because he can't afford to care about anything anymore, he made the promise to Toriel because if it makes his friends happy he will do so. That's why he never kills you. Even so, in genocide, when you fight Sans, he's not just doing it because you killed everyone, because he wants to frustrate you so much to the point where you'll go back and be different. But he still knows; he just doesn't show it. That's why it's raining somewhere else. Sans isn't just the half-assed skeleton that has a cool theme or has the ketchup obsession. He's the guy that would have stopped you even PLAYING undertale.

It honestly kind of baffles me that the guy who made this is so much like any other person on the internet. Sure, he's bilingual, he's a really shy guy on camera, but the stuff he puts out is just so generally out of this world that it's almost impossible to picture a guy like that making it. The echoed squeaking of wet sneakers on a linoleum floor; the distant reverberation of a voice through a loudspeaker; the muted rattling of passing rail cars; the quiet, yet sharp beeping of ticket machines...
When I listen to this I just think I'm sitting in a coffee shop in the middle of downtown. Where it’s raining with dark gloomy clouds in the sky. Feeling very alone and sad.

This is seriously one of, if not *the best* piece of music in the whole soundtrack of undertale. I really loved it when I heard it and it's one of my favourite pieces of music and songs in general. I showed my dad some undertale soundtracks once and this was his favourite (he's never even heard of undertale before. And just the feel of this piece of music is just so mysterious and dark (especially in the beggining) and combined with the mystery surrounding sans, and the fact that this is the point at which it is first shown or hinted at, it gives such an otherworldly feeling (even the title 'it's raining somewhere else' gives a feeling of mystery), but completely aside from that it just has a beautiful, calm and somewhat mysterious aura and feel that is what makes me so genuinely attached to it. (Also I liked my own comment)

This gives me the feeling of waiting on a bus, when its cold and raining and seeing a nice café, that warms up the entire street, and iits light is so soft, and i go in, and get a cooie and some hot cocoa, and its dark outside now, and i missed my bus, but i dont care, and i take my book, and read until the café is closed, and now its a beautiful night
The title means that in another time line since Sans has like the freaking power to travel through the time lines I always interpreted it as him saying it's raining in another reality

I actually really doubt that Sans would really kill you on Pacifist/Neutral run. He is more like a wise judge who watches your actions. I think this was just a way to warn you about all your sins, small or big they are, whatever. UPD: Just realised he was probably not posing HIMSELF as a danger. He was warning you that without his protection YOU would be in DANGER. You know, he actually kinda helped you on the Hotland bridge, etc! This is one of the most underrated soundtracks in Undertale
Well, based on where the song is played, the cafe idea isn't too far off. It's actually a restaurant, but still. I mean, a lot of the sound does sound like rain, but there's also very faint sounds of conversations between people. There's also some screeching, as if people's shoes were squeaking on the ground occasionally.
I miss Undertale already, this is so nostalgic. I completed a True Pacifist route a few months back and I literally cried, i just imagine walking through the rain with this playing. Thank you Toby.
Undertale, is not just a game, Undertale is a game with emotions and what I love about it is it teaches us that you don't need include killing to make a good game

I don’t like the way most people see sans: OmG bIg WaLkInG mEmE. Sans lost gaster. Which could have hinted in the genocide route that papyrus is all that’s left to call family. And all that emotional loss and stress turns to anger. anger turns into hate. and hate gets someone killed. this single scene of undertale makes sense to add. it lets us uncover sans’s feeling of insecurity subtly. Sans just needs a chill pill. I have played undertale since 2015 and still mourn over what sans went through

My favorite track of the whole game along with hopes and dreams. Partially because I can relate to the progression of the different sections. You know… I can't explain why but, this is the song I seem to find myself coming back to so often. And right now more then ever I find myself here for one major reason only... Etika… You were an inspiration. You were someone who helped me overcome many internal battles with anxiety back in my highschool days. I've always wanted to donate to you back then, to thank you for everything you had helped me overcome but I couldn't as I was just a child still with no job. But now that I'm going to college and soon to find work, I'll never be able too... I loved getting up early in the morning to watch the Nintendo directs with you, and see all your wonderful reactions. In my eyes, it was charming to see you go ballistic over these little things Nintendo put out. I always thought "When I go to college and graduate, I would want to be like you and make my own real UA-cam channel and build a fanbase like yours to just have an amazing time with people." I always loved listening to your stories of life and seeing you being your own person, one who wouldn't take shit from anyone and who would stand up and fight for what he believed in. You had a quality that I only dreamed of having and even now I still don't feel like I have it. Most people would have seen the things you talked about as simple jokes, and constantly made memes out of them. You would see the memes and laugh them off. But, you could never fool me... I knew that deep down, it hurt you to see that people weren't really listening to your voice. I knew you wanted them to see how bad some things were and no matter how hard you tried people were still oblivious. The more things you tried to communicate, the more people started to think that you were just crazy and someone with mental issues. It came to the point were I saw many of my friends give up on you, but I knew what was really going on. I stayed, even though many left. I stayed in hopes that those who were leaving were the fans that never cared about you, I thought that maybe things would get better. In the midst of all that chaos I thought, "Please Etika… Find help! Find someone to talk to! Don't push people away! Listen to those close to you! Please Etika… Please." The help was right there the entire time, but unfortunately you couldn't grasp it... I know the feeling of thinking that you don't want to be helped. I know that fear, the fear of feeling nothing will change. I know the feeling of thinking that by receiving help, it may make you look like a mentally ill or challenged person. First and foremost, there is nothing wrong with looking like that. There are many people out in the world like that, and even so they keep on striving for a better future. Although, it may haunt you, although it may make you be laughed at, in the end its all about your well being. Fuck what others have to say! Your sanity is what's more important. Turn that struggle into a strength and overcome it! Even if the people around you didn't understand you, there would have been someone out there who did and would have reached out to you. At the end of it all, the world was and would never have been better off without you... All you managed to achieve was the sadness of your fans, friends, and most importantly your family. You meant so much to people, and it was so clear to me based on how your parents raised you to the man you became. It was clear to me even by the many people that tuned in to watch you and those that donated to you. You were a driving force, a beacon to your fans. You were their silver lining at the end of the tunnel that people followed to get out of their own darkness. Its corny and cheesy I know... But, it doesn't make it any less true, that simple fact can't be helped. All I wanna say now is that, things wont be the same now that your gone... Smash Brothers reactions will be filled with sadness as people will be reminded of the fact that you weren't there to see them. Sequels to many of the games you enjoyed will never grace your consoles. Many of the stories you wished to tell us died off with you. You conquering over 2b2t will never come to pass. Deltarune and Undertale Yellow are games you will never get to listen to the music from and enjoy them when they are finished. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Attack on Titan, The Promised Neverland, Nier: Automata, Persona 5, and many more are animes and games you'll never react to and finish, and The Hero and Banjo-Kazooie are characters you'll never get to enjoy in Smash Brothers. I first found Etika through his reaction video to the battle music in Persona 5. He made me laugh so many times when he said that he couldn't play the game because it was "TOO damn smooth!". I'm definitely in the "I'm alone at a restaurant in the city on rainy night" club. It kinda sounds like ya've been there with someone for hours, just having a great time. Everyone else has left, and the receptionists are deciding not to close the restaurant to make you leave, just from seeing how happy you two are. Sans devotion to his promise to Toriel is amazing. Especially for a character who claims he doesn't care about anything anymore and says he doesn't give anything his all. He watches over Frisk and spends time with them, judging their actions. There was a high chance that ANY Frisk from any reset would be merciless, or at least one that kills his brother, but he keeps his promise. He breaks his promise in ONE route only, and that's genocide, if only to get the player to reset and start over in a route where he doesn't have to break his promise. In every other route, he keeps it till the bitter end, even in routes where almost nothing is left. Even if you kill Papyrus and Toriel. Why?
Because Toriel shared a laugh with him. That such a simple thing could form a relationship where Sans gives his all for a person other than his brother. Sans maybe an immature prankster, but he's one with more devotion and loyalty than practically anyone in the game. And that's what makes him a great character, besides all the memes.
It is just not Toriel though. He also keeps Papyrus' belief too even if you kill Papyrus you must remember Papyrus believed anyone could be a person if they just tried and Sans is giving you that even though he probably hates your guts at that point just to uphold his brother's belief and again he also goes against that belief in one route only
So much so that sans doesn't really care that the underground potentially was left desolate and that other monsters die, as long as he's with toriel and papyrus he doesn't care about the rest

I agree but I think it more when all monster are dust he can't see the child anymore. He see a monster that didn't try to change now force to fight as he the judge of judgement hall. He hold out to the very end and ask you " if it possible for someone to change if they just try", one last hope from his brother words. But the monster step forward so he ask one last time but you refuse as he the only thing standing in your way.
I love sans and I kinda like how he seems like the meme lord make him special. Because only those that get to know what lies under the bones can see him for who he, a gentleman and deep faith in you knowing you can do good.

The whole "You'd be dead where you stand thing" is, to me, scarier then actually fighting him in the genocide route. In genocide, you as the player realize that you deserve to be punished. In this route, pacifist or neutral, If he hadn't made that promise to toriel, even if you were being a true pacifist, he would absolutely decimate you, right their and then in the forest as soon as you walked through the door. No matter your intentions, without that promise you never would have made it past snowdin
Fun fact I read in a comment, if you look at Sans while he says that, he's looking sideways; he's not threatening you, he's ashamed of it, 'cause now he knows you are actually nice.
I think its because when he saw the human he assumed that you were the one messing with the timeline, and that it is entirely possible that you would have done the genocide run. Basically Sans doesn't know the players intentions and never truly does. Because the way i see it, you're just as evil If you do the genocide run and end the universe, as if you were to help them escape, only to go back and do it again, and again, and again. You know that this is the cause of sans' laziness because he figures that even if he gets to the surface, depending on what you do, it could all be gone. So in that sense you the player is the one xausing that problem, and sinse he doesnt retain most memories from previous timelines, he doesnt know how many times you've reset, and why.

"Knowing that one day, without any warning, it's all going to be reset." Sans is probably one of the best characters by background. Imagine having nothing to do aganist an unstoppable power. Instantly, it all goes away. Most of undertale fanbase don't care that much about his feelings, background... his interest in quantum physics and timelines... so much drama and good story there. I'm listening to this literally 4 years after undertale came out and I'm just now noticing some of the really gorgeous detail put into this music. Just noticing sans' leitmotif being subtly put into the melody of this song is crazy to me, and just makes me appreciate how amazing this game's music is. Toby Fox really does have a talent.

This scene reminds me of an aspect that I really don't like about the Undertale fandom, specifically the Sans fans.
I feel that a lot of people like Sans for the wrong reasons. As of now, he's pretty much been regulated to "that skeleton that makes jokes with a cool battle theme", but his character is so much more (arguably the deepest character in the game).
This scene reveals how Sans is more than a wise cracking meme. He's a person who hates making promises, but will keep them anyway if it makes his friends happy. He's a character with motivation, sympathy, sadness, loneliness, DETERMINATION.
To put it shortly, it sucks seeing a character with so much emotion in his bones be simplified by the fans as "the guy you fight when Megalovania plays" or "that character little girls have a crush on".
Sans deserves better.

Snowdrake's a pretty tragic character when you think about it:
- One day, his mother died. Alphys tried to revive her but ended up just turning her into an amalgamate.
- His father doesn't think Snowdrake will be a great comedian.
- Due to how his family thinks of him, he ran away.
- His brother Chilldrake keeps trying to find him, but to no avail.
Maybe a little late but also, Chilldrake only appear if you killed Snowdrake

Undertale had so much going on. Epic fights and touching moments, funny puns and heartbreaking scenes... Yet, this song ended up being stuck in my head the most.
Sure, this song was played as Sans had dinner with Frisk and revealed the promise he made with Toriel, and that had definitely already made the song memorable.
But this song is more than that. It just leaves an odd feeling in your heart... Loneliness? Sadness? Nostalgia? Relaxation? Happiness?
I have no idea, and that's the beauty of it.
A lot of comments on "It's Raining Somewhere Else" videos I see are people reminiscing, telling their stories and feelings, some are having an existential crisis, while others are sharing what they think the title of this song means. It just really gets you to think and feel.
Truly, this is one phenomenal song, in an incredible game.

That is what I love about this song. It makes you feel... Something but what that something is, no one seems to know. It does really seem to be a mix of nostalgia, fear, tranquility, existentialism, dread, and most importantly I think it feels like nothing, or rather it feels cold and empty, but also warm and welcoming almost. This song is really confusing to me and that is why it is one of my favorite in undertale
A while ago my friends and I would get together like every other weekend at my house. I have a trampoline, and when it got late we'd just go out, stare up at the stars, put this on, and talk. About whatever, space, aliens, time, who cares? We didn't. We didn't have a care in this world. A lot changed since then. My mother passed after a 5 year long struggle with breast cancer which she was going to inevitable lose do to a series of poor choices on her part. But, what can you do? This song brings a lot of happy memories of those days, of walking down to the Store to buy snacks, come back, and just fuck off. We didn't have a care in the world, and I so desperately would love to go back to those days. We ended up having to take down said trampoline, for some insurance change bullshit. I just put it back up a week and one day ago from writing this. If you're reading this, God bless you. And I hope your sleep is deep.

this song has always invoked a feeling of emptiness for me... I choose to interpret this song as meaning that somewhere at any given time... it's raining. Someone out there is sad. No matter how happy things around you may seem. It is raining somewhere else. While the concept of that may seem complete enough... while the question may seem to simply be "do you care? Is it important to you that someone else is sad right now?"... I feel as if it goes deeper. Personally I would say that I do care. However it leaves me feeling empty knowing... that doesn't really matter. There's nothing I could do to help them in that moment. Whoever it may be feeling that sadness... whoever that random person is that i've never even met before... it hurts to know that they're suffering... that there's nothing I can do to help them with that. I simply have to let it happen. I suppose that's my full thought on this specific subject... however I would like to end this comment by simply saying that it does get better. Whether or not that means anything to you is your own choice... but I truly hope that it does. The sad truth is that there isn't really any way to just fix that sadness most of the time... you just have to see it out to the other side. So if you have any desire to end it all... if even a slight "would things be better?" or "would it even matter?" in your head... you're going to be okay. It does get better. Sans is much more than a meme, and this soundtrack very explains why, as it's not just about being nice to listen to or being hard to make, it's about what it does or what it's for. "It's raining somewhere else"? You might think this is referencing a genocide route, and if you're doing a pacifist route, this may seem so far away, almost like it could never happen. But it's just a few clicks away. This is why you can hear ambient sounds of rain throughout the song. It's far. It's "somewhere else" but not out of hearing distance. Never too far. It's just raining somewhere else.
It doesn't have to be raining for it to BE raining.
Sans is right when he says "you would be dead where you stand". You really would be. Sans even said he hates making promises, and he would have just killed you if Toriel didn't say anything. This means if Toriel wasn't so loving, you wouldn't have even made it past Snowdin. That's why everyone makes genocide out to be so bad. Because it is. You're exploiting others who care and believe that you'll do the right thing, even if you don't. Just like papyrus believed in you. This is why at the end of genocide, sans fights you then. and only THEN. Because he can't afford to care about anything anymore, he made the promise to Toriel because if it makes his friends happy he will do so. That's why he never kills you. He wants to break the promise but he can't. Even so, in genocide, when you fight Sans, he's not just doing it because you killed everyone, because he wants to frustrate you so much to the point where you'll go back and be different. It honestly kind of baffles me that the guy who made this is so much like any other person on the internet. Sure, he's bilingual, he's a really shy guy on camera, but the stuff he puts out is just so generally out of this world that it's almost impossible to picture a guy like that making it. It's like learning that your uncle's the dude who makes supernovas happen, it's just odd to think about.

This is seriously one of, if not *the best* piece of music in the whole soundtrack of undertale. I really loved it when I heard it and it's one of my favourite pieces of music and songs in general. I showed my dad some undertale soundtracks once and this was his favourite (he's never even heard of undertale before. And just the feel of this piece of music is just so mysterious and dark (especially in the beggining) and combined with the mystery surrounding sans, and the fact that this is the point at which it is first shown or hinted at, it gives such an otherworldly feeling (even the title 'it's raining somewhere else' gives a feeling of mystery), but completely aside from that it just has a beautiful, calm and somewhat mysterious aura and feel that is what makes me so genuinely attached to it.

Well, based on where the song is played, the cafe idea isn't too far off. It's actually a restaurant, but still. I mean, a lot of the sound does sound like rain, but there's also very faint sounds of conversations between people. There's also some screeching, as if people's shoes were squeaking on the ground occasionally.

I don’t like the way most people see sans: OmG bIg WaLkInG mEmE. Sans lost gaster. Which could have hinted in the genocide route that papyrus is all that’s left to call family. And all that emotional loss and stress turns to anger. anger turns into hate. and hate gets someone killed. this single scene of undertale makes sense to add. it lets us uncover sans’s feeling of insecurity subtly. Sans just needs a chill pill. I have played undertale since 2015 and still mourn over what sans went through

You know… I can't explain why but, this is the song I seem to find myself coming back to so often. And right now more then ever I find myself here for one major reason only...
Etika… You were an inspiration. You were someone who helped me overcome many internal battles with anxiety back in my highschool days. I've always wanted to donate to you back then, to thank you for everything you had helped me overcome but I couldn't as I was just a child still with no job. But now that I'm going to college and soon to find work, I'll never be able too... I loved getting up early in the morning to watch the Nintendo directs with you, and see all your wonderful reactions. In my eyes, it was charming to see you go ballistic over these little things Nintendo put out. I always thought "When I go to college and graduate, I would want to be like you and make my own real UA-cam channel and build a fanbase like yours to just have an amazing time with people."
I always loved listening to your stories of life and seeing you being your own person, one who wouldn't take shit from anyone and who would stand up and fight for what he believed in. You had a quality that I only dreamed of having and even now I still don't feel like I have it. Most people would have seen the things you talked about as simple jokes, and constantly made memes out of them. You would see the memes and laugh them off. But, you could never fool me...
I knew that deep down, it hurt you to see that people weren't really listening to your voice. I knew you wanted them to see how bad some things were and no matter how hard you tried people were still oblivious. The more things you tried to communicate, the more people started to think that you were just crazy and someone with mental issues. It came to the point were I saw many of my friends give up on you, but I knew what was really going on. I stayed, even though many left. I stayed in hopes that those who were leaving were the fans that never cared about you, I thought that maybe things would get better.
In the midst of all that chaos I thought, "Please Etika… Find help! Find someone to talk to! Don't push people away! Listen to those close to you! Please Etika… Please." The help was right there the entire time, but unfortunately you couldn't grasp it... I know the feeling of thinking that you don't want to be helped. I know that fear, the fear of feeling nothing will change. I know the feeling of thinking that by receiving help, it may make you look like a mentally ill or challenged person. First and foremost, there is nothing wrong with looking like that. There are many people out in the world like that, and even so they keep on striving for a better future. Although, it may haunt you, although it may make you be laughed at, in the end its all about your well being. Fuck what others have to say! Your sanity is what's more important. Turn that struggle into a strength and overcome it! Even if the people around you didn't understand you, there would have been someone out there who did and would have reached out to you.
At the end of it all, the world was and would never have been better off without you... All you managed to achieve was the sadness of your fans, friends, and most importantly your family. You meant so much to people, and it was so clear to me based on how your parents raised you to the man you became. It was clear to me even by the many people that tuned in to watch you and those that donated to you. You were a driving force, a beacon to your fans. You were their silver lining at the end of the tunnel that people followed to get out of their own darkness. Its corny and cheesy I know... But, it doesn't make it any less true, that simple fact can't be helped.
All I wanna say now is that, things wont be the same now that your gone... Smash Brothers reactions will be filled with sadness as people will be reminded of the fact that you weren't there to see them. Sequels to many of the games you enjoyed will never grace your consoles. Many of the stories you wished to tell us died off with you. You conquering over 2b2t will never come to pass. Deltarune and Undertale Yellow are games you will never get to listen to the music from and enjoy them when they are finished. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Attack on Titan, The Promised Neverland, Nier: Automata, Persona 5, and many more are animes and games you'll never react to and finish, and The Hero and Banjo-Kazooie are characters you'll never get to enjoy in Smash Brothers.
Wherever you are Etika… I just want to give you a big thank you, from the bottom of my heart. You saved me in many ways. But not just me, you saved the lives of many people and touched the hearts of many. Your entertainment was unlike any other, yours was wholesome and filled with love. Your love for Nintendo games was infinite, and even they acknowledged your legacy. I first found Etika through his reaction video to the battle music in Persona 5. He made me laugh so many times when he said that he couldn't play the game because it was "TOO damn smooth!".
