I've lost count of how many times I've seen these guys! They need to be inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!! They deserve it. There's a countless slew of artists that were influenced by them. Life goes on and on and on...........
Superb album, certainly their best release at the epitome of the 70's genre --- this emotionally charged track is a staple fave, along with the title track... Need Your Love is a deep track too --- Awesome band and sorely missed !!!
I brought this Album (Vinyl) in Oct 1979 and I still have it. Have it on CD for the car, but play the Vinyl at home. Watch You Tube to actually watch the guys perform live. Brilliant band and still have so much respect for their music. But last year, I was watching American Pickers and they met Rick and he took them to his warehouse and sold them stuff. It was from 2012 I believe but the history he had and the stories were amazing. He totally blew Mike and Frank away.
Saw them open with this in Memphis 9/3/2010! What a great CT song! They did a really great variety of songs from '77 to '09 that night. They were on with Blondie so they only played about 75+ minutes. Both put on great shows and the weather was perfect ( it was in Audubon Park ) . This a great video! Thanks for putting it on to enjoy!
What a band. Is there anyone like them? I don't mean the way they sound. They are good, ok, but the way they look! We got Bun on drums, looking like time stopped in 1963. We got a certifiable madman on lead guitar. And then there are these two hair band guys with them. Gotta love them.
@3impersonators I was there too man, what a great show. Opened with Way of The World and from start to finish rocked the house. Great new material too. Bought the new cd at the show.
Sorry but wherever he is I have to send this one out to my childhood friend Harold Small. I hope your doing well and I remember all the good times we had.
Must have been around this time I saw Cheap Trick for the first time, at the Hammersmith Odeon in London. I seem to recall Living Colour supporting but I could be wrong. I seem to remember Dave Edmunds guesting on an encore song..... bu I could be wrong. I definitely remember that it is the only time I've seen the band where Rick had lots of guitars on stands on stage. Like a vintage and boutique guitar emporium. Mmmm. Lovely!
Back in 1980 heard Dream Police for first time a friend of mine had it and we used to play it to death .... My school friend left Ireland back in mid 80s now living in San Francisco haven't seen him since then ..... Back in 2018 saw Cheap Trick for first time supporting Def Leppard @ 3 Arena Dunlin bucket list ticked brought me back to those schooldays 😎✌️.
I always thought this was one of THE great CT songs and wish it had been a big hit for the band and that they'd played it way more often over the years.
I got my hands on a guitar pick from Rick and Robin when I was 13. I’m in my 50s watching this and my first thought is…”God I hope he didn’t spit that thing out of his mouth!!” 😂😅
I enjoy music put out today, and Cheap Trick, for me, still holds up after all this time. Lyrics, music, still holds my interest - yes, I like Grimes :^)
You know who the real Cheap Trick is ?? The Friggin Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame !!! Let a real Rock Band Band In !!! Ive saw this band over 15 times. And i will with out doubt see them 15 more times !! Crank 'Em Up !!
I would love it if this was re-recorded with 2023 studio technology. The original is beyond amazing, but it could use some polish. Cheap Trick forever baby! saw them live a dozen times! I can't say that about any other band.
Reality check. I bought Dream Police on release in 1979. I was 16 years old. Now in 2022, all of my children are older than these guys are in this video! When did this happen?
Just got back from seeing them for the 12th time. They opened the show with this tonight. Got a good 90 mins from them tonight and a three-song encore -- four if you count "Goodnight". Would've liked to see a bass solo from Tom though.
Cheap Trick, Blue Oyster Cult at Cal Expo State Fair Sacramento, 1979, on the racetrack, 40,000 teenagers!...Cheap trick was amazing, but BOC came on and took it to a different level. Between 78 to 81, they may have been the best live band in the world!
Hey do you remember what month that was? I saw them on that same tour in the summer of 1979. They played at Spartan Stadium in San Jose, Ca in front of over 25,000 fans. The line up was Pat Travers Band, Cheap Trick and Blue Oyster Cult headlined. Great concert!!!!!! 👍🎸
Who's groovin' on Cheap Trick in 2024?
🔥❤🔥
Robin Zander = one of the best rock voices EVER!!!!
I agree
Gay boomers love him 😂
This song and its chords and harmonies NEVER cease to give me goosebumps...WOW!
Hall of fame indeed!
Me too.
HOF sucks
To be in Hall of Shame today is more a ....shame, lol, than a honor ))
This is such a great song.
Dream Police album was without a doubt one of Cheap Trick's greatest accomplishment. Love every song on that album !!!!
It’s astounding to me that this is not considered one of their best songs
Rock and Roll!!!
This band... Their antics... You gotta love it!
@ALL LIVES MATTER. But in Tom's and Robin's cases, MUCH better looking ;)
I've lost count of how many times I've seen these guys! They need to be inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!! They deserve it. There's a countless slew of artists that were influenced by them.
Life goes on and on and on...........
My favorite Cheap Trick tune. I still have my original Dream Police album. :)
Me too!
@@samanthamerz9126 Me, three!
Me 4!! CT4Ever♡
This is awesome . The full symphony orchestra used in recording really pushes it over the top !
....I bought my first Cheap Trick LP's and became a fan before "Live at Budokan". One of the best ROCK bands Ever!!!
Superb album, certainly their best release at the epitome of the 70's genre --- this emotionally charged track is a staple fave, along with the title track... Need Your Love is a deep track too --- Awesome band and sorely missed !!!
This song exemplifies the pure joy that is rock.
This band is too good for this world.
I brought this Album (Vinyl) in Oct 1979 and I still have it. Have it on CD for the car, but play the Vinyl at home. Watch You Tube to actually watch the guys perform live. Brilliant band and still have so much respect for their music.
