Yes you are chatty but you also seem so sweet, kind and a very loving person the type of person I would love to have as a friend. I know we would have a lot of laughs together. Your a good teacher and I love learning from you.
I absolutely was able to follow along, I made my cardboard patters for the 11,13,& 15”. They turned out beautiful. They will be such a help in assisting me to organize my sewing room. Thank you for a great tutorial!
That is what I am doing to !!!! I love Jean she is so funny , and I love that she dosen't act like you have to be perfect, it really takes the pressure off. I just found her and can't wait to watch some her other videos
Loved your video and even more, as a Pennsylvania girl, l loved listening to your Pa accent. Even I have sewn for many years, I picked up some good tips from you. I have a ham too that I have had since the 1960's It is a great tool. I live in Ohio now. It made me sad to hear how scared you were to go outside. God bless you.
That picture from your kids for your 39th Anniversary was so precious ♥️ I don’t know how they did that to make the heart shape with their arms and hands ♥️ I loved that idea 😍 and I also loved your baskets 🧺 😍
I made these as storage for our so to be born 3rd great grandson. Diapers fit very well inside, and I made one for storing lotions and creams. Our granddaughter fell in love with them. Received many comments on them at the shower. I gave all the credit to you Jean.
I know this video is 3 yrs old but I just came across it and can’t wait to make these. I absolutely love the cardboard use for cuttings out. You were a joy to listen to and I will be watching more of your videos. Thank you for a wonderful project.
You have a really great personality. I'm going to have to watch this again so I can take in what you are teaching; I got lost on the animation in your delivery.
What a wonderful gift from your children. They are a special group and you and your husband are blessed beyond words. I enjoy your tutorials and visits.
Thank you Jane:) I have to agree! Our children are such blessings to us ~ as well as all of our in-laws and grandkids. Thanks for taking time to watch the Trueloves;)
Love these baskets. I have two orphan blocks frim 2018 block party 12.5 so cut corners 2.75 - can't find fractions on my tablet. I now have a fabulous basket made with something I was finding it difficult to find a use for. Stored my small scraps of interlining in it. Love it. Happy Anniversary - I am coming up to 50 this month.
Oh dear Jean, You will never know dear sister, how much your video helped me. I lost my husband to dementia 5 yrs. ago this month, having a few hours on my hands every weekend, left me with time to start a new hobby. I came across your channel and fell in love with you and your happy spirit instantly. I will be trying my hand at these baskets for our new expected great grandchild in May of this year. I am praying he/she will be born on my husbands birthday. Thank you so much. I love your generous spirit. I subscribed and am happy I did.
I'm so sorry about your dear husband, how sad you must be. I'm so glad that my silly little videos can bring a smile and a bit of relief to your day! And Congrats on the new baby!! How exciting!! You are very kind! Thank you for subscribing and keep safe:)
Happy Anniversary Jean and Ian!!! What sweet kids you have, love the collage! We really enjoy our meetings for service on zoom with our group too. So nice to see everyone’s faces and share some encouragement. The fabric boxes are so nice, I might make some for storage in my craft room. Thanks Jean!
Everything you described about going out is exactly how we all feel.. it’s confusing and exhausting! We are all in this together and we will get through it ❤️ Thanks for the tutorial! I love everything you make 💕
Thank you my sister! I really enjoy watching you! So many creative sisters in our organization! I am originally from Pennslyvania. I’m in New York City now! Made some of these boxes to hold my literature for my pioneering! Keep up the great work! Thanks for the pattern!
That is awesome! Are you ready for September 1?!? Whew!! My husband Ian has been a regular pioneer for about 6 months now:) He is enjoying it immensely:)
We are 39 years this year as well. In the uk we are only allowed one person to go shopping I haven't been out for 9 weeks now. Loved the photo clever family xx
I purchased a 65" TV and was getting ready to cut up the box to fit in the garbage cart but suddenly remembered this project and yep, I now have templates for all the baskets. We love our cardboard!!LOL
I understand exactly what you experienced. I have been in for 8 weeks, I’ve picked up my groceries curbside, and shopped online, delivered at home. I’m not ready for a full fledged shopping trip! What a sweet and thoughtful gift from your children. Thank you for the directions for the bucket bags.
I ventured out again today...and two nuts on the road nearly killed me with their aggressive behavior!!! Oh my word!! Some guy nearly smashed into my behind going about 80 miles an hour (I had to speed up terribly!!! ) and another, on the way home, veered into my lane...until I blasted my horn and he swerved back!! Geeeeezzzzz....what's up with people?!?!! I think staying home has put EVERYONE on edge!!!!! I was relieved and pleased to get home and to the safety of my sewing room!!;)
I’m laughing as I watch this “bag, box, or whatever the heck you want to call it” video for about the 10th time. Do you think it’s time for me to make it? I’ve already got the fabrics in my stash. Christmas work is finished, we live on a hill so the Susquehanna and Fishing Creek have us home bound for a bit. It’s me-time. Thank you so much for being our UA-cam friend. 😊
I've made a ton of these and I love them all. (Though I’ve given them all as gifts.) I often have to go back and watch what you do at certain points, and I find myself laughing again and again. You’re a special lady.
Congrats to you and Ian on 39 years! What a lovely photo collage the kids put together...fantastic! I really like the nesting boxes and will be making some for my sewing and quilting area. I like that you are just using a piece of muslin for a pressing cloth. I use an old pillowcase. No need to buy anything fancy! Again, Happy Anniversary to you and Ian! Here's to 39 more! 💕💕💕
I am new to your channel Jean! And I have to say, I loved the way you taught the project and how you expressed yourself! You are a sweet and delightful person! I am a FAN! Keep up the the great tutorials!
Thank you for sharing a simple way to make a boxed bag!!. Being in quarantine for so long, I need more simple projects to keep my spirits up. Like they say "We Are In This Together" , stay healthy and safe.
Oh No!! My husband touches any of my sewing stuff nor go anywhere near my area my table, seat he knows he gets kicked to the curb for good. Lol! I am in love with batiks as well and Thank you so much I'm so thrilled you're educating properly on sewing crafts!! You're top notch!!

Wonderful Melinda! Thank you so much for your kind words! I appreciate you taking time to watch me OVER and OVER!?!?! Oh my!! You are a fan!! LOL! LOL! Many thanks again:)
I am a beginner to sewing. I'm getting a sewing machine for Christmas this year. I plan on making this my first project. P.S. I did make masks at my daughters house last month. This is what got me excited to learn how to sew.
What a wonderful picture of your family of your anniversary.....I also like your boxed bags, they look awesome on your bookcase...thanks for sharing the video.
I love this! It makes so much more sense to put the turning gap on the side of the lining rather than the top, so it won’t show at all. Definitely going to make this! Thanks!!
Thank you so much for sharing this . It’s perfect as a add to gift for a baby shower I am attending. I will add baby products inside. I added lace and pretty buttons just for a little extra.
I just love these bins and they are so easy to make. I made an even smaller one which was an 8-1/2 " square with 2 " cut outs. The final product resulted in a 4-1/2 " square base and was 4" high. I am using it on my office desk.
I was told about your video by a vendor at a craft show here in WV. I love to sew I am by no means as good as you. My momma taught me to hand quilt at 4 years old. I am #10 out of 11 children. I have to sisters and eight brothers. I was the only girl that took up sewing & crafting. We all know how to cook, bake and can. Anyway I am 56 years old now and have suffered strokes that started at the age of 45 from a rare condition. Because of my disability with my left hand I try to find projects that I can do . You gave such great instructions on your box bags that I am going to attempt to try and make one. Sorry for such a long post being a shut in especially with this COVID I don't get much conversation with others except with my family. God Bless & stay safe🥰
I'm so sorry to read of your troubles...that must be terrible. Hopefully this little project won't be too difficult! Take it steady and slowly and you won't get frustrated! All the best and I'm so pleased you found me and take the time to watch! :)
I just found this video and you gave me the perfect idea for gifts for the ladies in my Bible study group. I'm going to embroider on them for the ladies and put a free standing lace Nativity ornament in each one. Thank you Jean!
Hi, I’m from Newfoundland, Canada. We have been doing what you described about the store since last April, minus gloves now, lol. It’s second nature to us now. But here we are lucky, there are only about 2 Cases here in Newfoundland. We are so lucky! We tend to forget there is even a pandemic going on In the world until you listen to the news or go out to a store. Lol This is my first time coming across your video. I did enjoy it. I think I am going to try these baskets!
Thanks for sharing Trudy! You are VERY blessed not to be affected as we have been here!!! It's been terrible...numbers growing daily. Keep safe!! Glad you found me:)
Oh my goodness. I have made these organizer box "things" but was looking for other people's ideas on how to make them. I accidentally came across your video and am so glad I did! I think I love you! LOL. You are so sweet and fun to watch!
I really liked this project! You are so wonderful at your craft! I have an old Singer sewing machine , actually two old Singer sewing machines, one I got when I was 16, I'm 64! The other is a mini that my daughters gave me when they found it in the house they bought 17 years ago! I use the mini a lot. Your machine is fantastic! My favorite feature is the reverse thing! Stay safe, thanks for sharing!
Wonderful Martha! The old machines have proven to be true solid workhorses! I however, DO love my mini too!!! It is a super machine! :) Thank you for watching me:)
Hi Jean, thank you for the easy tutorial and how you make it so fun...and your right being perfect is so over-rated!! I love watching your videos and you make me laugh, I'm so glad i found you and I'm new sub and cant wait to watch your vids
Not sure what i was expecting when i began this tutorial but i definitely stayed for your chattiness, the slight accent, and the sewing. Thank you so much!!
Happy to hear that! Most people don't quite know what to expect when they watch me!! LOL! But as I say...I get there in the end:) LOL! Thanks Denella:)
Beautiful boxes great idea, your videos are a link to someone with is super inspiring in these times of no real contact to outsiders, I can’t Thank you enough, your what this country needs more of stay who you are and bring joy to this world, your so talented and I have sewing room envy breathtaking! ❤️
Thank you so much Mary! That makes me happy...to know that a few people can have a giggle and a smile watching me! Watching me chatter on incessantly....repeating myself...BEING myself...and knowing that there are people who ACTUALLY enjoy it!!! LOL! LOL! Have a safe and healthy day!!
I love these boxes, I made a set for our daughter in law who had her baby girl, did them golds, pinks, gray flower with gold dotted lining, thank you so much Jean. Love you and praying for you and family.
Thank you so much! This was so clear and charmingly presented! Thank you also for the different sizes and measurements you gave us. It is really appreciated!
Happy Anniversary, Jean and Ian! I feel the same way going out in public. I wear my mask and gloves. Being a woman of a certain age, being bundled up and hot flashes, I’m exhausted by the time I return home. I’m really becoming comfortable being home. I miss my children and grandchildren desperately and need their hugs. Bless you and yours. Stay healthy! Great tutorial.
I didn't realize just HOW much of a homebody I am...until I've HAD to be home 24/7 for the last 6 weeks!! It was too stressful to go out and I gladly retreated to the safety of my home!! LOL! We do miss our kids and grandbabies, but connect every day via video calls....however that is NOT THE SAME!! But other than that...simplifying has become a more real way of life! And that's not a bad thing! :) Stay safe and have a happy Sunday:) Sending hugs!

What's the number for Pellon interfacing? Would deco bond work also? Love your project.
Thank you Carol! I used Pellon 808 craft fuse. I think the 809 Decor Bond would be too stiff, but if that is the look you like then go for it! :)
