The order in which you sew this is very clever. To attach the trim as a first step and then leaving the opening part on the inside lining is brilliant! I'm an experienced sewist. Subscribed! Kind regards. Swedish lady living near Vancouver, BC, Canada
I’ve seen loads of videos making these baskets ….. but yours is so much better, it’s so beautiful and professional looking … great tutorial, many thanks 💖💖
Hi Karen! Thank you so much for watching my video and sharing your kind thoughts!

Although i like verbal videos, you did an outstanding job at your teaching. I absolutely love your video, i can’t wait to give it a try. Thank you. Beautiful baskets💕
Made two of theses. Used the foam on the binding to hold the topper up on the second one. You can either made the topper or the basket first and then measure the size for the second one. Thank you for making this video.
We will be moving into a tiny house. I was considering buying about 10-12 of these at the store. Thank you for showing this! Now I can make these myself out of the fabric I want. 💕😁
I've been using a medium-heavy weight for the outer fabric and then for the lining, a lightweight cotton fabric, doubled, and it's proving to be a perfect combination and alternative to the interfacing. I was feeling too impatient to go out and buy batting, so I improvised lol. Think I made a good choice because they still look great; wish I could show you all a picture.
Very cute baskets Loved the colour and design of the fabric pieces. Looks ng at the perfect job, I must say that You are a Master seamstress!! Many thanks. I will try one now!!
I am not a great seamstress. But your directions I can follow. I haven’t used my sewing machine in years. But going to get it out now. Thank you so much for giving my inspiration!
I have trouble sewing straight, I suffer same issue as you. Left my sewing machine untouched for years. It's only when I fixed the tension did I feel confident to do more machine sewing. I prefer to hand sew most of the time. With pandemic now lockdown there are more time for crafting.
You are so imaginative and creative. I am truly impressed with all of your creations. I am saving all of your uploads to my file. Who knows, in the dead of winter in my little cabin I might attempt your craft. Maybe I should vlog my craft. (?!)
Hola an quedado muy bonitos te e estado mirando como lo hacía y estaba disfrutando y cuando lo as planchado a quedado de dulce me a encantado me gustaría saber cuando haces cositas me encantan 😍😍
Update: I ordered the fusible webbing and the Soft and Stable by Annie and made this again. Everything went well except that the lining is too big for the space. If I make another, I would trim the lining fabric about a 1/4" shorter and narrower. Thanks for this video. Easy to follow and I love your music....so calming. :)
I agree the lining is too big I think the trick is to cut just under half inch from bottom an taper the side from the top, my second one turned out perfect using that method. Lovely baskets
Even up the lining and front fabric at about 2:30 on the video, stop and trim away any difference that doesn't fit. After that, at about 5:50, stop and fold the lining down to create the top fold, now check the bottom edges and trim away any excess so they align nicely.
Okay, I am pretty new to sewing, but not completely new. I have never seen an iron that works like yours, nor a sewing machine that cuts your threads for you!!! My jaw dropped. I was thinking you were very gutsy, setting your iron down like that with no care in the world and then I saw it move! What sewing machine and iron are you using? I must put these on my wish-list.
@@MinkiKim Thank you for such a quick response! Wow, the Bernia B570 is a dream machine! Sigh...Something to work towards, for sure. I will be pre-ordering that iron soon! Thanks again, love these cloth baskets and your tools of the trade!
